Y/N's POV-

"Twoo more shots please!" My best friend gestures the number two with his fingers to the barista who seems to be annoyed by our presence.

The music in the background plays in my ears the sounds of people talking and laughter all around.

I can't help but sit there and laugh at a memory from three years ago. My best friend joins my laughing parade which causes me to laugh hysterically, he just has one of those laughs that are terribly contagious.

As if he could read my mind he stops laughing and turns to me with a frown. "Are you laughing at me?" He furrows his brow with confusion.

With tears in my eyes I look at him and try to compose myself. I wipe my eyes and take a deep breathe.

"Rem-remember that time in freshmen year when you walked into the girls bathroom drunk and threw up all over the place" I say trying to keep myself together.

"Oh god please, I thought I asked you never to remind me of that nightmare again" he says with a tone of regret and guilt in his voice.

"You.. you kept saying sorry to the girls in the bathroom while you were throwing up" I notice a red shade begin to form in his cheeks while I continue with my story.

"And I had to drag you out of there while also apologizing to those girls for you" I can tell that my words have somewhat of a negative effect on him so I punch his shoulder teasingly. "Hey bud, it happens to the best of us. I'm just glad we have that sort of bond and just know I'll always be here for you even if you throw up on me" he smiles and I return the favor.

"You know what y/n, I'm so thankful to have you in my life" he says looking at me in awe.

"Why? because I'll let you throw up on me?" I say jokingly.

"No bec-because you're amazing everything about you is so real, and I can just talk to you so easily" he says happily.

"Careful, it almost sounds like you're about to reveal your undying love for me, and might I remind you.. I like women" I say teasingly.

"Might I remind you, I like men." He says in a low pitched voice to make himself sound manly.

"You absolute dork" I tell him while giving him a small laugh. "Oh but you love it" he says jokingly.

Right as I'm about to give him a snarky remark a women with blonde hair sits a couple of seats away from us.

A hint of sadness and sorrow in her eyes. She sits alone deep in thought. I wonder what she's thinking about.

"Miss, what can I get for ya?" The barista asks her while cleaning a shot glass with a red towel.

She seems to be very lost, she missed his words and completely ignored his question.

"Miss?" He asks again concerningly.

She jerks her head towards the barista and looks slightly embarrassed. "Oh dear I'm sorry, I'll have a martini" the women says with a sort of raspy voice that make my ears want to dance.

"Hey? Earth to y/n?" My friend waves his hand in my face and I'm brought out of my trance.

"uh yeah what's up" I say trying to hide the fact that I was drooling over this mystery women.

Cameron looks in the direction I was looking at and suddenly I knew I wasn't so discreet over my amusement. He turns to me with wide eyes and starts laughing wildly.

"Okay okay, you can stop now, you're drawing attention to us" I say in a loud whispery voice.

He gasps jokingly "Since when do you care about drawing attention y/n?" I roll my eyes at his comment and the barista lays down the two drinks in front of us. I quickly chug it and Cameron stares at me curiously.

"Stop staring weirdo" I say somewhat annoyed.

"Sorry it's just, I never pictured you with older women" he says while taking a sip of his drink.

I smile "I didn't know you pictured me in that way"

he chokes on his drink "No, No. I didn't mean it like that I-" he's interrupted by the sound of my laughter "Wow okay y/n, you're not funny" he says while looking away from me.

"It's just too easy to mess with you when you say things like that" I say jokingly.

"Yeah whatever, I just meant that I didn't think older women were your type, that's all." He says honestly.

"Just because I've never been with an older women doesn't mean they aren't my type" I tell him while subtly glancing over at her.

She has dark eye shadow and her blonde locks are rolled into a somewhat classy-messy bun. My eyes linger on her body. She wears a black dress that exposes her bare shoulders, the dress parts just in between her legs, and she wears black leather heals.

Cameron takes a second glance at the women. "I mean if I were straight I'd totally be drooling over her like you are right now" he says confidently.

I stare at him in shock "I- I'm not drooling" I respond somewhat offended.

"Y/n I've known you since eighth grade, I probably know you better than you know yourself" Cameron says proudly.

I scoff.

"Y/n, we are about to become seniors at Brown University in like one month so I suggest you just do whatever or whoever you want to do this summer because this is our last year, I won't judge you even if you have a thing for cougars" he says with a wide smile on his face.

"I cannot believe you right now Cameron" I say annoyingly. I only say his full name when I'm angry but I usually call him Cam.

He slowly starts getting off his seat while still maintaining eye contact with me. "What the hell are you doing?" I ask.

"I'm going to go dance with McHottie over there" he points to a tall man with multiple tattoos and a leather jacket.

I roll my eyes "have fun, I'll be over here...by myself" I say looking down at my empty glass.

"Hey, maybe this is your chance to go talk to McHottie over there" he points to the blonde women.

"I think I'll pass" I say still looking down.

"Okay just don't drink too much, you still have to give me a ride to my dorm" he says as he leaves further into the dance floor.

I sit there in my own thoughts for what feels like an eternity until I hear a dispute.

"Hey come on, just one drink m'am" I see a drunken man barely able to hold himself up talking to the blonde women.

"I said no. My answer was no the first time you asked and it's going to stay that way forever" the blonde women responds bravely.

"No need to be rude, you should appreciate a man like me wanting someone like you" he responds rudely.

The women just turns away from him trying to ignore the problem. He grabs her arm aggressively causing her to gasp. I quickly get up and walk up to them.

"Hey douchebag she clearly doesn't want you, take a hint" I say with a confident voice or at least I think so, I hope so. "Why don't you just mind your own godamn business" the man responds angrily.

"Why don't you learn to keep your hands to yourself" I say starting to get annoyed by the situation.

The man finally let's loose of his grip on the women. I turn around and walk away until I feel a cold substance hit me.

Alcohol. The man threw his drink on me. I turn around just about losing my patience.

"Real classy aren't you? I'd expect a man of your age to be a little more mature but then again I guess it's in your nature" I say bitterly.

I see the blonde haired women cover her mouth to suppress a laugh.

"You Bitch!" The man throws his glass at my head but I dodge it and it shatters against the wall. At this point I can't contain my anger and I walk up to the man and he instantly pulls his fists up.

"Really? you going to hit a women?" I say teasingly as if I'm actually offended by his gesture.

"You bitches are the ones that want equal rights huh? so better get used to equal fights as well" he says proudly as if it makes him sound intelligent.

"I'm guessing you peaked in High School" I say jokingly wanting to get a rise out of him, I know, bad idea but like Cameron said, live in the moment.

The man quickly lunges forward with a right hook which I dodge but then he quickly throws a left hook which was unexpected and hits my jaw pretty bad but not bad enough to knock me down.

I smile and wipe the blood off my lip with my tongue "Little girls punch harder than you" I say teasingly.

He tries throwing another left hook but I punch him straight in the nose which causes him to stumble back in shock. He touches his nose which immediately starts dripping with blood.

My heart skips a couple beats because for the first time I'm kind of scared of what this idiot could be capable of.

He grabs a modelo bottle and hits me on the side of the head, which I don't really feel.

Three men then jump in and restrain him. I put my hands down and catch my breathe. The blonde haired women looks at me in fear. Wow I really screwed that up didn't I.

All of a sudden red liquid blocks my vision. I rub my eyes and see that the modelo bottle ripped my head open. Oh shit, oh shit. Why did I jump in the first place. I regret everything. I suddenly feel dizzy.

The room is spinning isn't it? or is that just me? or the alcohol I drank? or is it from the loss of blood? I don't really know, what I do know is that I don't like this feeling.

I'm about to fall but the blonde haired lady grabs my arm softly yet firmly while looking into my eyes with worry and guilt.

"You're okay, you're okay, come with me" she says softly. She puts my arm around her shoulder and she places her arm tightly around my waist and directs me to the women's restroom.

Maybe I don't regret anything...yet.
