《Naruto The Shinobi Hunter》Chapter 31

Mikoto woke to the sound of thunder, her eyes widened as she jumped out of her chair. Looking around, she didn't see anything unusual, only hearing the faint patter of rain on the house, "Urgh, wasn't expecting a storm tonight. I wonder how Sasuke's doing?" she said to herself, slowly walking across the living room, she managed to make it to the stairs without making too much noise. Walking up the stairs, she then made her way to Sasuke's room and cracked open the door to see him sleeping soundly. She smiled, closing the door before making fists and biting her lip, "I'm sorry Sasuke... I'm sorry son," she whispered just as she heard the front door slam open. Quickly running to the stairs, she looked down to see the door was wide open, rain pouring into the house as a strong wind was blowing some vases over. Skipping some steps as she jumped down the stairs, she grabbed the door and shoved the door back into place. Taking several deep breaths, she slid onto the ground, her back against the door and her head banging against it.
"T-That storm is terrible," Mikoto stated, hearing little foot-steps running from up-stairs
"Mommy! What was that?!" Sasuke shouted, appearing at the top of the stairs wearing his PJ's and holding a tomato-plush
"Just the storm sweet-heart. Go back to... bed," Mikoto slowly said the last word as she looked past Sasuke and saw a man standing behind him. A pair of glowing eyes looked down at both her and Sasuke, the rest of his face blocked by the shadows as she saw, what she assumed to be the man's hand, rise and bring it down on Sasuke, "SASUKE!" Mikoto screamed as her son was struck. Sasuke's eyes rolled back into his head as he began to fall forward. But the man caught him by his collar and pulled him back, jumping down with the boy in hand and allowing him to fall to the ground.
Acting on instinct to protect Sasuke, Mikoto made a fist and punched the wall, smashing the dry-wall to reveal several kunai hidden in the wall. Mikoto grabbed three kunai and threw them at him. Raising an open hand, the man blocked two of the kunai and grabbed the third between his fingers.

Mikoto rushed at him, cocking back her fist to strike him, only for the punch to be caught. The man twisted her arm, causing her to reveal her back to him. As she tried to kick him while in the position she was in, but she felt pain from the back of her neck and her world went black.
Falling to the floor, the man stood over her as the sound of lightning echoed through the house. The flash illuminated the man to be Garou, who knelt down and checked her pulse,
"Alright, I didn't hit her hard enough to kill her. That's a win for me," he said, walking over to Sasuke and doing the same thing, "alright. Both of them are still alive... and now for the back-up."
Right as he said that, there was a knock on the door. Opening the door, there stood Naruto and Shizune with burlap sacks and rope, "Hey, sensei!" Naruto shouted, trying to make sure Garou could hear him over the storm. Grabbing both of them and pulling them into the house, Garou closed the door behind him and grabbed one burlap sack, and put it over Mikotos' head, tightening it so that it wouldn't fall off.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Shizune shouted
"I'm saving them," he replied
"By kidnapping them?!" Shizune shouted, watching as Garou hog-tied Mikoto
"Yes,"
"..."
"..."
"I hate you," Shizune stated as she saw Naruto putting Sasuke in the burlap sack
"What? It's too big to just put over his head," Naruto argued, using the rope to tie the sack and throwing it over his shoulder like a smaller, younger, and orange-clad Santa Claus. Face-palming at the sight, Shizune sighed as she asked: "Do you even know where you're gonna go? Do you even know who you're running from?!"
"Nope and I don't care. This village and its people can go to hell for all I care," Garou threw Mikoto over his shoulder, "all I know is, we go in that direction-" he pointed to the North, "stop at the hot-springs for some supplies, then take a ferry across the bay, go through this one village with a building inside a mountain, and take an underground ship through the ocean, passed the barrier, and off to Japan,"

"Wait what? Barrier? What are you talking about?!" Shizune questioned. But before she could get an answer, Garou opened the door and stepped outside.
"YOU BETTER HURRY, SHIZUNE! IF YOU STAY BEHIND, PEOPLE WILL QUESTION YOU ABOUT THIS! YOU'RE AN ACCOMPLICE!" Garou shouted as he started running. Naruto was soon to follow and Shizune too. Running through the rain with nothing but the clothes on their backs, the trio managed to get to the North Gate and they saw two men inside the gate check. One had brown hair, and dark eyes with his hair combed down, covering his right eye. He wore a forehead protector like a bandanna along with the standard Konoha shinobi outfit which goes all the way up to his chin.
He was currently sleeping next to another man, who had long, spiky, black hair and dark eyes. He has a strip of bandage running across the bridge of his nose and a light-colored marking on his chin.
"I wish something exciting would happen," the man with spiky hair mumbled as Garou, Naruto, and Shizune sneaked under the window as the storm continued to rage. As they snuck by, a small rock was sent flying through the air with one strong gust of wind, hitting Shizune in the eye.
"Ouch!" Shizune whispered, but just loud enough to catch the guard's attention.
"The hell was that?" he asked, peeking out of the window and looking down to stare at Naruto, who was looking back up while Shizune was covering her mouth, "May I help you?" he asked as Naruto raised his hand and poked his eyes, "AHHHH!" he screamed, covering his eyes as he fell back into the guard box and falling on his friend.
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!" the once sleeping man asked as the other was currently rolling on the floor
"A KID POKED MY EYES OUT!"
"And that's cause for concern, why?"
"IT WAS LORD HOKAGE'S KID!"
"Which one?"
"THE ONE WITH ONE EYE!"
"You're pulling my leg, Kotetsu," the man yawned as Kotetsu continued to roll on the ground
"LOOK OUTSIDE!" Kotetsu screamed as he got up, pointing at the trio who were just now deciding to run off into the storm
"We better tell Lord Hokage... now,"
"Fucking hurry, Izumo!" Kotetsu said through his teeth as he started blinking, "I can see again!"
Garou, Shizune, and Naruto were currently booking it across the forest as Garou was kicking Naruto while Shizune was carrying Sasuke, "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, BRAT?!" Garou shouted at Naruto, who kicked him across the sky
"I'M SORRY SENSEI! I WASN'T THINKING AT ALL!" Naruto managed to reply between each kick
"IF YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT AGAIN, I'M GONNA TURN YOU INTO A GOD-DAMN SLIPPER! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!"
"YES, SENSEI!" Naruto shouted back as he landed on Garou's shoulders
"Good. Now if we just keep at it like this, we'll be at the hot-springs in 3 days time," Garou explained
"Then it's off on a ferry, passed a building in a mountain, and into an underground ship?" Shizune asked, catching up to Garou's side
"Yup! And passed the barrier!" Garou finished as they continued running
"Question! What's the 'Barrier'?" Shizune asked
"Something about psychics and ninja preventing some of the technology of the outside world from reaching the nations? I only skimmed through the employee manual before I was fired for killing a sea monster," Garou answered
"Wait, you were fired for saving their lives?"
"Well, I may have accidentally destroyed one of the stations during the fight, but apparently they disguised the accident as an Oil Rig explosion," Garou said.
Yet, before Shizune could question further, they started to hear something other than thunder and lightning. They started to hear barking and howling.
"I SEE THEM!"
"Oh, shit, RUN FASTER!" Garou said as he and Shizune started running faster.

The Werewolf Cheerleader
Being a cheerleader is easier than being a werewolf. Jessica Tumbleleague is a typical teenage girl who loves being a cheerleader at Moondale High. But after an encounter with a werewolf in the woods, Jessica discovers a frightening world she never thought is real. Dangerous magic, deadly fierce spirits, and other malevolent creatures. Now Jessica must fight the forces of darkness to protect her hometown while balancing her supernatural life with her high school life. But can she control the beast within herself? Note: This is a rewrite of the original with the same name. I decided to change the third-person style to first-person because I liked Jessica's voice better. She is funny and very strong. With the story only focusing on her, I can keep the mystery suspenseful and the reader can experience what Jessica is experiencing. It is a typical YA style, but it is fun to write as your main character. There are changes, but the first and second books will be similar to the third-person chapters. Let me know what you think and I hope you will enjoy this new version of the Werewolf Cheerleader. I will post the chapters every Friday in the afternoon. P.S, there is a Werewolf Cheerleader short story published in the Tales of Dungeons, All Hallows book. Titled The Werewolf Cheerleader: Castle and Ghouls. The short is also in first-person, which made me decide to change the book series into first-person. The link is below if you want to check it out. https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B08MCS82R5

The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them. Patricia Chandler- A elderly British woman who arrives in this new world with her grandson Kyle and her granddaughter Elizabeth. Never having dealt with rpg game mechanics before, she is in for a rough time, but she is determined to keep her grandkids alive in a world full of danger and evil. Jamil Mesbah- An Egyptian woman who once worked as a technical writer. Her path leads into a vast and hostile forest, where she must master both her magical abilities and her survival skills in order to succeed. Enjoy your travels, friends.
