《Before I Forget - Eli Moskowitz -》Thin Ice

After leaving Miguel's room they took the lift and headed for the exit. They had made it to the lobby - Sky was leaning on Hawk's arm for support - when someone they knew all too well, walked in through the front doors.
Johnny Lawrence.
Hawk's chest tightened at the sight of his old Sensei. He too was now on the list of his least favorite people in the world. Johnny Lawrence had betrayed him, Hell, he had betrayed all of them. He had promised they'd be tough and strong, he had promised he'd always be on their side - and then he had given up on them, taken away their chance to be truly great, and just bailed on them. He was a traitor - the worst traitor of all - and Hawk wanted nothing to do with him.
To be fair, it looked like Johnny Lawrence wanted nothing to do with Hawk either. His eyes narrowed at the sight of him, and then quickly turned away, as if he was ashamed, or just as sick of Hawk as Hawk was of him.
But Sky didn't seem to notice or at least mind. She rushed towards Johnny Lawrence, and had it not been for her cast, she probably would have thrown her arms around his neck.
"Sensei—!" She chirped happily. "It's so good to see you!"
Hawk swallowed to repel the bitter taste her cheerful greeting brought to his lips. He hadn't seen Johnny Lawrence since the day of the fight. He'd gone to the dojo after Sensei Kreese had sent him a text that Cobra Kai needed him, and–
–and then Johnny Lawrence had shown up at the dojo. And Hawk had pretty much told him to piss off.
He glanced at Sky, nervously. He hadn't told her about that. It wasn't strictly lying, was it? They hadn't talked about Karate related stuff all that much, really, but he had mentioned that Sensei Lawrence had left and that now it was just Sensei Kreese teaching them at Cobra Kai. All Sky had said was 'okay', and he hadn't had the guts to tell her about the fallout, about his own harsh, though justified, words to their former sensei.
But now Hawk felt his throat tightening. No lying had been the first rule Sky had set, and he knew he was walking on thin ice.
"Hey Ginger, how you holding up?" Sensei Lawrence asked and ran a hand through his blond mane. It didn't help - he still looked like shit - he hadn't shaved in ages, he had cuts and bruises, his clothes were dirty and worn and he looked like he'd done nothing but gotten drunk these past two weeks.
"I'm fine," Sky smiled. "And getting better every day."
"Good. Glad to hear that."
"Are you here to see Miguel?"

Sensei Lawrence gave a nod, his glance darted towards the lifts. "Yeah. Heard he's awake."
"We just saw him. He's doing okay, considering... But he's got surgery on Friday," Sky chattered. "After that, he's going to need help to learn how to walk again."
A pointed silence followed her words. Sensei Lawrence looked at his dirty, worn sneakers, then back up. "Yeah, well, I'm sure there are professionals who can help him with that."
Sky's brow fell into a gentle frown. "But you are his Sensei. He's gonna want your help."
"His mom made it pretty clear that I have no business being near Miguel ever again." Sensei Lawrence stated bitterly. "Besides, I'm not a sensei anymore. I'm done with Karate."
Sky's smile disappeared, and sadness overtook her sweet features. Hawk's heart hurt at that sight. He never wanted to see her unhappy again. He would've given his fucking right arm to keep a smile on her lips, and he hated Johnny Lawrence with a fiery passion, for taking away that smile.
"But—" Sky was saying. "But Miguel needs you. And... to be honest, I could use some training too."
"What?" Hawk barked, the first thing he'd said in this conversation. "Sky, are you out of your fucking mind–?"
"No." Sky replied with a frown. "And I don't like you talking to me like that."
Shit.
"Sorry, I just meant–" he gestured towards her broken arm, her bad leg. "-- that you're still on sick leave. You have a fricking cast in your arm, and.... and what about your head? I mean, the doctors said you need to be careful, right?"
Sky rolled her eyes. "The doctors said that I can't get hit in the head again. That just means I can't fight, that I can't compete. But there's more than that in karate, right?"
"Right," said Johnny. "But I won't be the one to help you with that. Join Cobra Kai if you want, join Miyagi-Do, I don't care. I'm done."
Sky's face fell, her determination faltered. "But Sensei–"
"I'm not your sensei, don't you get it?" Johnny sounded almost angry, desperate. "I never should have been."
With those words he left, walking past them to the elevator, his broad, denim-covered shoulders stiff as he pressed the button. Sky looked like she wanted to follow him but then didn't. Her bottom lip was trembling.
Hawk wrapped an arm around her, pulling her near.
"Hey, it's okay," he murmured, his lips brushing her hair.
"I... I just don't get it," Sky breathed. "Why would he leave Cobra Kai? I mean, I know he's upset that Miggy and I got hurt, but it's not his fault–"
"It is his fault, though," Hawk muttered, unable to keep silent as they started walking towards the front doors. He pulled Sky near, supporting her. "He got weak. He wanted us to show mercy."

"You say that like it's a dirty word."
"Mercy is what got Miguel in the hospital," Hawk replied sharply. "He showed Robby mercy and look where that got him. And you–"
"I did what was the right thing," Sky cut in. "And I would do it again."
"Don't say that," Hawk rasped. He could not take it if Sky was hurt ever again. It would crush him into pieces.
"Sam was getting hurt and no one was helping her. Are you calling me weak because I went to help?"
"You're twisting my words," Hawk said. "I never said that."
Sky stepped out of the doors, her walking still slow and hesitant. The golden early evening sunlight fell on her, making the red of her curls shine with shades of gold and orange. She looked like an angel, standing in that heavenly light, surrounded by a fiery halo. Even with the splint still on her nose, the cast on her arm, she was so pretty that Hawk's chest ached.
"Fine, whatever," she was still tense, a frown on her brow. "I don't wanna talk about karate with you anyways."
"Works for me," Hawk replied, relieved. "Let's do something fun instead."
"Like what?" She asked and now there was a small, teasing smile on her lips.
Hawk knew perfectly well what kind of fun he wanted to have with her. He wanted to take Sky home and make love to her so that she'd be screaming his name. Last night's satisfaction in the basement had been short-lived. It had only made him want more. He wanted all of her, not just her hand. He wanted her heart and her soul and the sweet release he knew he'd find within her, his dick buried deep between her legs.
But.
He let out a sigh. "Any chance your Dad's out?"
"Nope." Sky shook her head. "So, your Mom is home too?"
Hawk muttered a curse. He glanced towards his car. There was always the option to just drive away and find an empty parking lot or some other secluded location where they could just do it in his car—
"Don't even think about it," Sky laughed.
Hawk felt his cheeks heating. He drew his eyes off his car, back to Sky's laughing face, her green, twinkling eyes. "What?"
"I'm not gonna fuck you in the car."
"Why not?" He smirked. "We've done it before. And you fucking loved it."
Sky's cheeks turned rosy. She leaned closer to him and tilted her face up as if asking for a kiss, but when he leaned in, she pressed a finger on his lips.
"Because, I want our second first time to be beautiful, not some dirty quicky in the backseat of your car"
"Can be the front seat too, I don't care." Hawk smirked, making her giggle and blush even more. "Come on, tell me you don't want my face between your legs—"
"Oh, that's tempting—" she laughed. "Too bad I've got somewhere to be."
He arched a brow at her, but his hands had found her waist and pulled her near. Her sweet curves under his touch were Heaven on Earth, and the memory of the time they had done it in the car after the Valley Fest still lingered in his mind, making him half-hard in his pants - which she no doubt felt.
"You've got better plans than a ride with me?"
Her smile disappeared and was replaced by a serious, determined look. "I do, actually. What Miguel said about his mom being in debt—"
Hawk frowned. "Yeah, that sucks."
"I just got an idea of how we could help. And I wanna run it through Sam."
Hawk couldn't help the frustrated groan that left his lips. "Sam? Seriously? It's her fault that Miguel is in there in the first place—"
"No, it's not," Sky said very firmly. "And I don't wanna hear that kind of crap."
"Sorry," Hawk muttered. Sky was still standing in his arms, and he pressed a soft kiss on her brow, his hands lingering on her waist. Her closeness was driving him nuts and it took all his willpower to keep his urges under control.
She sighed softly and tilted her face up. Her eyes were green and deep, and she was so pretty that it made him weak in the knees.
"I love you," he said, his breathing fanning her face.
"I love you too."
"You need me to give you a ride to Sam's?"
A slow grin spread on her lips. "Trying to lure me into the car with you?"
"Maybe." He chuckled.
Her nose scrunched up as she smiled. "Pervert."
"You're one to talk."
But Sky stepped back, releasing herself from his arms, and she laughed. "Still not having sex with you in the damn car, but—"
"There's a but?"
She grinned, her eyes gleaming with mischief and promise. "—but, my Dad has a date this Saturday. A date, with an actual woman, can you imagine? The house is empty and he said he doesn't want me being alone. You wanna come over?"
"Hell Yeah, I wanna come over," he replied and pulled her back into his arms where she belonged. She giggled, her body was soft and warm and it fitted so perfectly against his own. Her scent of roses and vanilla filled his nostrils when he ran his fingers through her hair, and when he kissed her, he wasn't on thin ice anymore - he was walking on the clouds.

This is a story about a nineteen-year-old college freshman whose life is flipped completely upside-down when he meets a strange, yet very attractive young girl.
