A few hours later you're sitting out on a bench swing looking at the sunset. It's beautiful colors melting together to create a beautiful painted sky. You hear footsteps approaching and Bubba soon sits down next to you.
"Oh um hi Bubba is it?" You ask and he nods. You notice he's holding his hand it there appears to be blood on it. "Oh is your hand ok?" He shakes his head. You go to touch it and he groans. "Let me see, I can help." He moves his hand and you see a large cut on the top of his fingers. "Oh poor boy let's get this cleaned up." You get up and so does he. You take him you your room blood dripping along the way. You open your bag and pull out a first aid kit.
"Ok sit in the floor for me." He sits and you open the kit. You clean the cut with alcohol and he pulls his hand back with a loud grunt. "It's gonna hurt ok just let me fix this for you." You take his hand and finish cleaning the cut. You wrap it up for him and pat his hand. "There, does that feel better?" You ask. He nods.
"Can you talk?" He shakes his head. You frown. "I'm sorry Bubba. Can you write?" He shakes his head again. "Well how about I just ask yes or no questions." He nods. "Alright you know my name right?" You ask. Be nods and attempts to say it but it sounds more like a long moan. "It's ok Bubba." You put your hand on your shoulder and hear yelling from downstairs."
"Where the hell have you too been? It's almost dark out!" Drayton yells.

"I've got something better!" He says. You hear a thump on the ground.
"Leather face get the hell down here!" Drayton yells. Bubba gets up and you do too. He motions you to stay in the room and he runs downstairs. You sigh and shut the door. You start unpacking and a good amount of time passed when you finished. You notice it got quiet downstairs. You open your door and walk downstairs into a living room. You notice some bone art all around the room. You go to look closer at one of them.
You study the white bones. They look small, like ones you've seen from fried chicken. You think maybe they just like taxidermy or something. You continue on looking now at a wall full of animals taxidermy heads. "Holy shit..." You whisper to yourself. You get closer to one head of a deer. Looking in its eyes going out to reach it. Before you can you feel something wrap around your underarms and pull you back. You hear laughter and you see a man with dried blood on his face in a green shirt and army pants looking back at you laughing holding a straight razor.
"We got some good meat now huh Chop top?" He says getting closer to you. You struggle and scream.
"W-w-we sure do now. Let's get it over with so we can have him tomorrow." The person holding you says. The man cuts your shirt in half exposing your torso. He starts to slash at your stomach a bit as the two men laugh. You keep screaming and start kicking him away. Bubba quickly rushes in and shoved the man away. The man holding you let's go and you run away looking back. Bubbas tackling the Guy in the army pants and a guy in a purple shirt and an brown vest is trying to pry him off. Everyone is yelling and you fell tears start to fall from your eyes.

"I'll be upstairs in the bathroom..." You take off your ruined shirt and ball it up to catch the blood running from your cuts. You grab your first aid kit and walk into the bathroom. You wash your hands and start to clean your cuts. Soon Bubbas at the door. "Hi Bubba. I'm ok don't worry." You're wrapping gauze around your cuts and he touches your shoulder.
"sssssowrrrey.." He says. You finish cleaning yourself up and you smile.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5

To Cross the Threshold
What would one do, when a star crashes into the Earth? Die, of course! Except, in Joseph's case, it was all wrong. He met face-to-face with the Light, got the program forced into his brain, and woke up far, far away from his small insignificant hometown, in the ethereal endless void, full of stars and vigour, guns and loot, Daemons and Skills! From there on out, he got volunteered into the crew of the Morning Star, the pirate ship he was unfortunate enough to stumble upon. With a tree for the Captain, a dragoncat for the Quartermaster, and a human, equal in height and width, as the Cook, he sets sail across the mysterious and hostile Threshold, filled with fierce abominations, rich Ghosts, and patriotic soldiers from the Glorious Metal Empire, all to figure out what the Light has brought upon his Earth that day, and to find his way back home. The blue Astrum of memories
Some of you believe in fate and some of you don't. That's ok in our world. In the world that I created Fate has been acting strange and selfish for a long time. She was always fascinated with humans and the fact that they had soulmates because a lot of other races didn't. Ever since humans started traveling through space, that opened millions of new opportunities for Fate to make the human soulmates meet. However, because of her strange behaviour Fate made too many mistakes. After that, Fate made what she thought, was a good move. What she didn't count on was that the good move she made knew that you can cheat fate. One and his crew don't know how ironic it is that she chose them to make her good move. ------------------------------- I didn't use any movies, books or series for inspiration the story is my original work. This is just the result of my weird imagination and brain telling me what to write. I hope you liked it :) It’s just a story, like all of my other stores. It doesn’t have a deeper spiritual, moral or ethical meaning.
