Liliana's PoV
Here I was, sat in my car outside of the ring, mentally preparing myself to enter.
Have they replaced me as the best fighter?
I doubt it.
I was pretty amazing. I only lost like five matches out of two hundred.
I let out a sigh and pulled myself out of my head as I got out of my car. It was dark and the car lot was slowly filling up with cars as people entered the ring.
I went in through the back, just like I used to. Everything looked the exact same. I made my way to Gabe's, my old bosses, office. I lightly knocked on the door.
A faint come in was all I could hear beside the loud crowd and deafening music.
Once I opened the door, he let out a loud gasp as he stood up from his chair and came towards me. His small, short figure came towards me before he grabbed me by my forearms with his small wrinkly hands.
"Oh my god," he gasped out as he pulled me into a hug. "What happened to you?"
He took a step back and leaned against his desk. "I-I had to go away for a while," I stuttered before coming up with a slight lie.
I mean, I did go away for a while.
"No calls, no messages, hell, you didn't even give me a heads up that you were leaving!"
"I know," I sighed out. "I'm sorry."
"Regardless of all that, I'm glad you're okay," he said seriously. I gave him a small smile. "Last time I saw you, you were just a kid and now, look at you! You're all grown up!"
I let out a chuckle at that. Gabe has always been like another dad to me or an older brother. He was always making sure I was okay and checking up on me even when he didn't need to.
"That husband of yours been treating you right?," he asked, remembering before that I told him I was getting married. I bit my lip, wondering if I should tell him that I'm technically not married anymore.
But we're in a relationship.

"Yeah," I breathed out.
"That's good."
"He's amazing actually," I corrected myself with a smile as I thought about everything related to him since I've returned.
"You deserve some happiness," he said, his eyes gleaming with happiness. "It was amazing seeing you."
"You too! Gabe, could I, maybe, fight tonight?," I asked slowly, knowing he'd probably say no.
"Are you sure?"
I nodded my head. "I've picked up some new skills and I'm ready."
He nodded his head, making me let out a silent cheer. "Go get ready then."
~
"Rules are still the same?," I asked Gabe.
"Yeah. You don't need me reminding you?"
"No, I got it," I confirmed as I fixed my mask, making it sit perfectly on my face.
My hair was braided down my back as red shorts and a red sports bra covered my body. A red mask covered my face as red and gold boxing gloves covered my hands.
"Want to be introduced as Red?" I nodded my head. "I'll be back," Gabe said before he disappeared to talk to the announcer.
Minutes later, he returned. "You got this," he encouraged me. "Good luck."
"INTRODUCING A FIGHTER WE'VE ALL MISSED! SHE'S FEISTY AND ANGRY. GIVE IT UP FOR REEEEDDDDDD!," the announcer announced stretching out the 'e' and 'd'.
Who said to introduce me as feisty and angry?
Without missing a moment, I made my way through a tiny tunnel before I made my way to the ring. I slid in and faced the crowd. Hundreds of people cheered making me feel like I'm not forgotten.
"INTRODUCING EVERYONES ALL-TIME FAVOURITE! BLAAAAADE!," the announcer screamed into the microphone, stretching the 'a'. My face dropped as I realised who I was supposed to be fighting.
Sebastian.
He jogged his way to the ring, with his mask covering his face and his chest bare, leaving his tattoos on show along with his six pack. Only some black shorts hung on his waist. He must not have heard the announcer when my name was said as he froze once he saw me. His eyes scanned over me, making sure it really was me, before he whispered something into the referees ear.

The referee nodded and ran off towards the announcer and Gabe, whispering something.
Sebastian, or well, Blade, came towards me. "Thought you said you were busy?," I asked him, crossing my arms over my chest.
He shrugged his shoulders. "You came back to reclaim your crown?" I nodded my head. "Sorry to say it's not happening." I raised an eyebrow before realising he can't see.
"What?"
"We're together," he shrugged. "I'm not fighting you."
My shoulders slumped. "Seriously? Come on!" He shook his head firmly.
"And what are you doing lying to me?," he asked getting defensive.
"I didn't lie," I shrugged. "I told you I was out."
"You could've told me you were coming here."
Suddenly, before I could reply, the referee and Gabe came up to us in the ring. "You and Blade are seriously married?," Gabe asked me, shocked. I nodded my head sheepishly, not even bothering to correct him on our relationship status.
"You know the rules, Red. If you're involved romantically or you're family, you're not fighting each other," he reminded me. I nodded my head.
"SORRY TO DISAPPOINT BUT RED AND BLADE WILL NOT BE FIGHTING TONIGHT."
I let out a sigh as the announcer announced that. The crowd booed as questions were thrown around. "Can I at least fight someone else?," I asked.
"Sure," Gabe shrugged.
"I'll watch from the back," Sebastian said, fighting the urge to hug me in front of the crowd before he leaves. I nodded my head as he left the ring.
~
My opponent was on the floor. Finally. He was one big muscular guy. Almost like The Rock. I swiped the sweat off my head with the back of my glove. The referee held my arm up in the air announcing me as the winner. Once my opponent got up, we bumped gloves and left the ring, leaving the excited crowd behind us.
I entered my dressing room and Sebastian was already in there. He sat on the couch, leaning forward, with each elbow resting on each knee. His hands joined under his chin telling me he was really really pissed.
"Hey," I drawled out.
"That was a good fight," he complimented me, not even seeming pissed off at all.
"Thanks," I sighed out. "I need to shower. I'll be back really quickly."
He nodded his head as I quickly grabbed my stuff and headed towards the little shower in here.
Sebastian's PoV
I have to say seeing her there in the ring as Red was a shock. I had to tell the referee that we couldn't fight each other.
She told me earlier when I had asked where she was and she just said she was out. Why couldn't she just tell me that she's coming here?
I know I didn't tell her either so I can't really say much about that.
To be honest, I'm not pissed at her even though I know she thinks I am. I don't even care about her fighting, it's just the fact that she didn't let me know she was coming here for the first time after so many years.
It's huge. It's her first time in the ring after years and I might not have been here to see it.
"I'm back," she sighed out as she sat next to me on the couch. I looked at her face before standing up. I quickly grabbed an ice pack and placed it on her jaw that was bright red telling me that it was bound to bruise soon.
"That'll hurt," I muttered as I examined her face and everywhere else for more bruises. She gave me a small smile.
"I'm not pissed," I reassured her.
"Really?"
I nodded my head. "Why would I be? You wanted to do something you love. I can't and wouldn't stop that. I just don't want to see you hurt."
"I'm Red," she spoke confidently. "I always win my fights."
She gave me a small smile. "Come on Red, lets go home," I spoke, putting emphasis on the word 'home'.
"Come on then," she said already knowing I was not gonna drop her off at Vins. "Lets go home."

8 121HUD: Wargame (Sci-Fi GameLit)
★★★★★UNFRIGGENBELIEVABLE!!!!!! "HUD: Wargame is a sci-fi GameLit worth reading." -TienSwitch ★★★★★Rock-solid FPS GameLit. "Nic - the main character - is an ambitious, hyper-competitive perfectionist, and the story fortunately handles him correctly in that it does not push these traits too far." -Akaso ★★★★★This is a good one! "This is one of those stories where you read the first few paragraphs and can just tell that the author has the chops to tell a story. It's engaging and the rules are well thought out and clearly explained. The action is punchy and exciting. Anyway, read it." -HonourRae In the future, everything is a game. New worlds across the galaxy that are ripe for human conquest and terraforming. It sounds glamorous on paper, but this job might be more dangerous than he thought... HUD: Wargame is the first of a five-part sci-fi series featuring GameLit elements. HUD: Wargame contains some (simulated) violence and very sparing PG-13 profanity. Updates Monday-Thursday-Saturday.
