《The Mafia's Mistake (Completed)》Chapter 16 *EDITED*

I was warm and safe.
My body was wrapped by strong warm arms with my back against his large chest. After making love we slept in each other's arms. I didn't know what I felt or what I was supposed to feel. The night had been so peaceful, he had taken me so gentle into his arms and rocked my world. I was lost, trapped on a crossroad with no clue of which road to take.
"Wake up!" my eyes fluttered open with his words.
His tone was no longer sweet. They say there is a calm before a storm and this was the storm hitting hard with no mercy.
Turning around, I faced an emotionless dark face, illuminated by the moonlight. The room was dark and I lay staring at him in confusion.
"I forgave you but still need to teach you a lesson never to cross me. " his voice was harsh and I found myself crawling from his embrace, lip quivering as my mind fought so hard to find reason.
"R. afa..el... "My voice breaking as my heart shuttered.
He was still going to punish me?
"Get up, don't waste my time." his voice loud and clear.
I rushed out, grabbing my silky gown and wrapping it around my thin body. After putting on his clothes, he walked out of the room as I followed him. We took the elevator to the first floor before walking to the cells. All the lights were on there and it seemed like almost all the house staff was there, especially the guards.
They were all quite but I could hear cries from someone, a female, probably a young girl. They made way as we passed until I stood in front of a cell where lay a girl inside in a white, strapless free dress. Her face was red with mascara running down her cheeks along with her tears probably eighteen or so, my age.
My own tears boiled as I watched her bawl.
"This is Lena, she was taken from Portugal where she was in a bar, celebrating her eighteenth birthday."
My heart sank as his words sank in. I wanted to go and rescue her from these monsters.

"She was supposed to go straight to the pornography category but I brought her here to show you what will happen to you and others who cross me."
I was violently shaking now, tears burning my eyes.
"Boys, go play." Rafael said to his men.
The cell door was opened as two guards got in, ripping her clothes off before raping the screaming girl, double penetrating her.
When a pair was done, another pair got in and by the time the third pair was done. The girl's body was limp with blood dripping down her legs but they didn't stop, they went on and on and on. I had screamed so much that my throat hurt, I had begged and begged for him to tell them to stop but he just grabbed me by my jaw and made me watch. All females in the room were crying now as my own body went limp and cold. All the colour drained from me as I watched the innocent girl suffer because of me.
How could I even consider falling for this monster? I hated him!
I hated him so much, I couldn't live here. I had to go, I had to get away.
They were all cruel.
I felt my legs give out as I floated down to the ground before strong hands caught me.
It felt like they were prickling my skin as the image of the innocent girl being vandalized played in my mind.
"Take her to her room." Rafael ordered as my guard took me away.
We rode back up and I locked myself in my room.
I can't stay here.
They'll do this to me eventually, it's only a matter of time.
I have to get out.
Tonight!
I paced the floor with my hands scratching my head as if I was losing my sanity.
Think Harley, think!
I ran up to my closet, taking out all my sheets, covers, gowns, dresses and tied them all into one long rope. After that I went to tie the rope on the balcony before walking to the door and unlocking it.
"Hi, sorry, can you please find Ruby for me, I want her to bathe me. "I asked the other guard who never leaves my door, whether am in or not.

"Yes ma'am" He said leaving.
Quickly I closed and locked the door before running into the closet and grabbed black tights, black jeans along with a black long sleeved t-shirt and a baggy sweater. Taking off the lingerie, I wore my black clothes, pulling on some black socks and sneakers. Finishing up, I tied my hair into a ponytail then grabbed a duffle bag where I stuffed in some t-shirts, tights, Rafael's black credit card.
A knock disturbed me, making me jump in fright. Taking deep breaths, I opened the door and locked it after Ruby got in.
Her skin pale as she seemed shaken up, body violently shaking with tears still streaming down her face at what she had just witnessed.
"Yes ma'am" her voice shaky and low.
"Ruby, I'm leaving. I can't stay here anymore and I want you to come with me. When he is tired of me, he'll let his guards rape me and I can't take that Ruby, I'd rather die. "My voice was shaking as I fought back tears.
"I can't leave you here Ruby, what if they do that to you? You are my whipping girl now, when they find out you will be the first they kill. I just can't, please let's get away from this place. "
She seemed to consider what I said, her skin went paler and I was afraid she'd say no. I gave out a breath I didn't know I held when she nodded her head.
"Okay, now I need you to go to the kitchen and grab some bread, meat, water, fruits. Not too much though, it will make them suspicious. Also grab two sharp knives, hide them please. "
She started shaking, making me pull her in hug "you can do this babe, just be strong."
She nodded her head before leaving.
After locking I ran back to the closet and took out her black jeans, tights, t-shirt, sweater and sneakers. I then took another bag and ran to the toilet where I packed the first aid kit, tooth brush before running back to the closet and stuffed in a throw blanket into the bag.
When Ruby returned, I placed the food in the bags, two water bottle's, a loaf of bread, eight steak chops, four apples, some cheese and a can of coke.
I guess it would do, it was a large forest.
"Take off your cloths and wear those." pointing at the clothes on the bed.
I took my tiny beats speaker and taped it together with my iPod.
"I 'm done," Ruby shot up.
"Okay, take this bag." I threw her one of the bags before slinging the other one over my shoulder.
"Are there any homes or anything on this island?" I asked going through the drawers, looking for a pen and paper.
"It's mostly Mr Vintagé's land, the forest and the sea but on the east side there is a small village, my village."
Finally, I found a writing pad and a pen. I started by drawing the house and marking where we stood with an x.
I drew what seemed to be the forest, the sea.
"Where about is the village?"
She took the pad and continued drawing the thick forest then the village on the east.
Looking at the sketch, I then drew dots which were directions we had to take. Firstly, we would run to the East side of the house then into the thick forest and run straight. When we got near to the sea we then had to turn east and run until we walked into the village, this would probably take a whole week or two.
Tearing the paper off, I placed it on my pocket before rushing to the bathroom and running the water until the tub was full.
I closed the bathroom door after and placed a chair under the handler.
I dragged another chair gently and placed it under the main door of my room.
Taking a second to admire my work, I took a deep breath and made my way to the balcony.
"Let's get out of this place."

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
