Virat tried again but Rohit didn't budge a bit. First time Virat saw that how much Rohit could sleep.
He didn't know what to do.
He paced around the room to think what he can do. He thought of one idea but was little scared knowing Rohit's reaction.
He took a glass of water and sprinkled it on his face. He did it 2-3 times then finally Rohit woke up.
'What are u doing Vi?' he asked a little irritated.
'Wo u were not getting up and we have to board the bus in half hour. I am trying from so much time but u were not budging a bit. So I thought .. I am sorry but I could not think of any other way' ranted Virat nervously.
'Vi calm down I am not angry, next time if I don't get up na then u can pour whole glass ok. You have no idea how hard it is to wake me up.'
'Now go and get freshen up.'
Rohit freshened up and they went into the bus. Virat was extremely nervous. Rohit just held his hand and assured him.
It was a one day match. MS won the toss and they were batting first.
'Ready ?' Mahi asked Virat who was tapping his leg nervously in the dugout.
'I don't know Mahi bhai' said Virat little nervous.
'Kiddo remember that u have worked very hard for this day. But don't get scared just go and express urself. Trust ur abilities. U will be the best'

Virat started off slow. Then it was no stopping for him. He hit the ball around the park. But there was issue with the short ball, everyone could see it.
Rohit was sitting and praying that he should not get hurt. The team was cheering so loudly that Virat was beyond happy to hear that.
He scored an amazing 80 runs on his first match.
Everyone patted his back and Rohit along with Mahi bhai gave him a hug.
Now they had to defend 300 runs. They took some early wickets. On the next hall there was catch to be taken and Rohit was underneath it.
He took the catch but lost his balance and landed on his head. It was really a difficult catch. Virat rushed to him.
'Rohit, Ro u okay ?' Asked A worried Virat.
'Give me a sec' said Rohit getting up but he was feeling a bit dizzy. Virat supported him. He went off the field leaving worried Virat out there.
They won the match after that as it was an important wicket.
Virat immediately rushed to Rohit who laying on the table.
'U are okay na' asked Virat with tears in his eyes. Because he was very scared. Rohit was the only person who was understanding him and so close to him. To see him like that it scared him.
'Vi don't worry' said Rohit assuring him.
Virat was holding his hand and keeping an ice pack where he got hurt. Mahi came and watched all this how Virat was taking care of Rohit.

'Mahi bhai is it necessary to go out there. Perform toh kar Diya na' said Virat not wanting to go out there.
'Virat what's wrong? Tell me, why don't u want to go there?' Asked Mahi sensing something else.
'Ummm bhai I feel really odd to give those answers to their questions. It gets a little difficult'
'Virat u have played such a good knock. The confidence which was there on the field should reflect in your words and ur demeanour.'
'Don't worry about anything else and answer honestly. I am standing here Only so u are not alone'
Virat went and answered confidently after Mahi supporting him. And whenever he was confused he looked at Mahi and he assured him that he was there.
Virat and Mahi went in the dressing Room where Virat rushed to Rohit.

After freshening up they sat on the bed eating their dinner.
'Vi kitne baar samjhana padhega to eat all the vegetables' said Rohit.
Virat didn't say anything and ate it. He was still scared seeing Rohit hit on his head. So he didn't argue with him.
'Vi kya hua ? Why are u not talking to me?' Asked Rohit seeing him so silent.
'Kuch nahi' said Virat and continued eating.
'Vi bata toh kya hua hai ? Why are u so silent?' Asked Rohit again after sometime while they were laying on bed.
'Ummm i got really scared seeing u like that' said Virat in a low voice but Rohit heard it clearly.
'Vi Kuch bhi toh nahi hua mujhe.. I am completely fine' said Rohit assuring him.
'U were not responding when I called ur name. That really scared me. I just have you Ro and seeing u like that it was just...' said Virat not wanting to continue further.

'Pakka' asked Virat like a child.
'Ha pakka' said Rohit back.
'Waise nice u kept my nickname' said Rohit.
'What nickname' asked Virat confused.
'U called me Ro so many times today.. I like it' said Rohit.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
