《RUTHLESS DECEPTION》》52

"I don't wanna get up," I mumbled, my eyes seeming very hard to open. Even though it was close to an hour after our bodies collapsed, I still couldn't move.
Evander didn't seem to mind since he held me close to his chest, pressing my body to the side of his body. A simple blanket was thrown over our naked bodies to protect us from the cold. Even though at first my body seemed like it was on fire. In a good way.
"When is the meeting?" I asked, drawing random circles on his chest while I listened to his heart beating.
"In thirty minutes," Evander casually responded. My eyes widened and I immediately lifted off his chest, pulling the blanket off our bodies and hurriedly looking for my clothes.
"What are you doing? Don't cover up," Evander whined, trying to grab my hand and pull me back to him but I don't allow it. "You can't be late because of me, get your clothes before we never leave here," I ordered, picking up the articles of clothes and throwing them at his body.
"Shouldn't we shower first though?" I paused, looking at the smirking Evander. He's right, we probably smell like sex. "Fine," I huffed, pulling the blanket and wrapping it around my body and made my way upstairs to the bathroom. I dumped my clothes into the basket before making my way into the shower.
After showering for the second time in the past four hours, it was no two pm. The meeting was in probably twenty minutes so I quickly put on baggy jeans and a loose top to hide all the marks on my chest that remind me of my intimate times with Evander Rowan.
"Cute pants," Evander complimented as we walked to the van. The compliment, however, was followed by a loud smack on my cheek. My eyes widened and I couldn't believe Evander just slapped me there and he seemed pretty damn proud about it.
"Did you just slap my ass?" I hissed at him. He blew me a kiss before getting into the van. I stood there in disbelief, wrapping my head around it. "Come on, don't act like you didn't like it," Evander called from inside the van.
When I realized he was right, I got into the van and slammed the door next to me. "You're hot when you're feisty," Evander smiled against my cheek, leaving a sweet kiss and his hand on my inner thigh. He's always holding me, protecting me. It's like he isn't content or satisfied if he isn't and I find it a major turn on and adorable.

We didn't have to drive far. Apparently, we were having a meeting at the packhouse since his office there is bigger. Thankfully, there was a back entrance that led straight to the office so I didn't need to walk into the house with him.
When we opened the door, all eyes were on me. There were four of them and only two of them I knew. "Who is she?" The tall man asked with ginger hair and black eyes. They all had some sort of power but I couldn't tell their exact position.
Brandon and Winston were here.
Evander didn't even give him a look. "You'd like to know," Brandon smirked from where he was sitting at the side of the table.
Evander's hand on my waist directed me to sit beside him. But that wasn't enough, his hand clamped down under the chair and he dragged my chair closer to his. When I was next to him, he took my hand under the table and interlocked our fingers on my lap.
"Let's get down to business, shall we?" Winston suggested. "Who is she?" The other stranger asked. "She's my mate and was previously the head doctor of the royal pack," Evander proudly stated. Their eyes widened, captivated by shock and disbelief. "And what is she now, Luna? Doctor of this pack?"
"Both," White huffed but I pushed her away.
"You would like to know," Evander sarcastically replied before turning away. "Rieka, this is Charles, my gamma," he directed his hand to the ginger man.
"Hello, Garfield," I politely smiled at him. He's been throwing daggers at me since I entered so the same felt right. The annoying response I got from him was definitely worth it. "And this is Edward, second in command warrior," Evander continued. I stare at the blondie and smiled when the name popped in my head.
"Hello, Twilight," I grinned, feeling proud of these nicknames. He scoffed but smiled at me anyway. Well, at least he seems friendly.
"Okay, let's get down to business. The rogues that were killed in New York are gone but there is a new threat arising," Evander started. "And how are you so sure?" Brandon asked.
"Don't worry about that, you know I have my connections. We need to eliminate them before they can attack first," Evander spoke. "Agreed," Charles said in the table. Well, this is going great.

"Why don't we just wait for them to attack first?" Edward asked. "We don't know what they're planning to do as yet. And I don't want to find out," Evander answered his question as if it was common sense.
"So how is this thing gonna go down?" Winston asked, they all sitting up straight and ready to talk about business. "In two days we're going to attack the area that I have gotten," Evander answered.
"I need you all to gather seven more men or women to fight and the five of us in here," he continued. They nod their heads, probably thinking of people.
"And what about her?" Charles challenged with his eyes on me. Evander glared at him, his grip tightening on my hand. "She has nothing to do with this," Evander responded. The guy only nodded before they both turned back to the more important matters.
"What if they attack sooner than expected?" Winston asked. My stomach churned at that possibility. "We'll be ready. They're bloody rogues," Evander scoffed, seeing confident that he can take them down.
I bent my head so they couldn't see my eyes fogging. "You're hanging around me too much, saying bloody and all," I mind linked Evander.
"Oops," he responded. When I looked up back with the silly grin on my face, Brandon was staring at me curiously.
I bent my head again, finding Brandon's link. "Hi Brandon," I said into the link. His eyes widened and his mouth fell open. "No fricken way," he gasped.
"Cool it, Brandon," Evander snapped before he got serious.
I listened to everything they had to say. Their plans for this occasion, what they plan to do, and when, where the weapons are, they stand by crew, everything. They all were livid when Evander mentioned getting help from the vampires.
"They are our enemies!" One of them shouted. I still didn't know any of their names and I'm sure I'd forget by tonight. The only ones I knew were the head warrior, Winston, and his beta, Brandon.
"But now their allies and that's final!" Evander snapped at them all. They all froze, the room finally goes silent. I tried my best to fight the smile that was trying to form on my face. I wasn't affected by any of this. His harsh, controlling voice that made his pack whimper was nothing to me. I loved it because it was a reminder of what we were.
I was already marked to him for bloody sake.
They all seemed unsettled about it all and I don't blame them. "What needs to be done for our pack will be done and if anyone disagrees you can leave," Evander strictly said. Silence filled the room, everyone waiting to see if someone would leave.
"Great, let's continue."

I jolted from my sleep when Evander did. When my eyes balanced in with the darkness he was moving around the bed. "Shit shit shit," Evander cursed, flying off the bed and immediately tugging on his shirt and pants. "What's going on?" I asked, becoming very worried. My eyes bolted out the window to see part of the forest lit up.
There's a fire near the border.
"The rogues are already attacking, call your father," he ordered. I grabbed my phone and was already dialing his number.
"Da-" my father cut me off.
"We're almost there, tell Evan to meet me there and you stay inside!" My father hissed into the phone before cutting the call. "He'll meet you there," I told him.
Evander only nodded, running into the closet and coming back out with boots on. "Just stay here, go back to sleep, I'll come see you when it's done," Evander begged me as if he was afraid I wouldn't listen.
I can see why.
There was no way I was allowing him to go there alone. "Eva-" he cut me off and opening the bedroom door.
"Stay here!" Evander shouts at me before running off. I bolted off the bed, running after him. The front door shut
The last thing I saw was him shifting into the dark brown wolf I loved as he disappeared into the darkness and the last thing I heard was gunshots.

The Hazards of Skinny Dipping
This isn't a deep book about first loves or self-discovery. If you want a book like that, I'd be happy to recommend one, but I don't have that kind of story to tell. Instead my story is about rash decisions and finding out that your dream guy is bad in bed. It's the story of when I finally went skinny dipping, and how my life was never the same again. Oh, and it's also the story of my freshman year of college and realizing Mr. Right might have been there all along.
