《Best Friend》Last Promise

The two boys had just previously spilled their feelings for each other. A great weight was released from their shoulders, and now all the worrying was gone. Except for just one last question Akaashi hadn't asked Bokuto. What about those girls...Akaashi believed Bokuto and all, but this was a matter that had bothered him for days.
"Hey Bokuto-San"
"Yah babe?" Akaashi rolled his eyes at that last part.
"SOOoo, you remember those girls right?"
"What girls"
"The ones from school?"
"Akaashi, their are over 10 girls in my class."
"Well I know 3 sluts who drape over you like a scarf." he didn't mean to let that slip.
"Akaashi what the hell?" Bokuto chuckled a little.
"Wait seriously forget the last few words that came out of my mouth." he said embarrassed.
"Haha ok" Bokuto didn't seem to care much, but Akaashi failed to get an answer this time.
They finally arrived at a nice restaurant. It was crowded, but apparently Bokuto already had reservations in a private section.
"Wow Bokuto-San, this is really somethi-" Akaashi started as he stepped into the room decorated with floating blue balloons.
"hAPPY BiRTHDAY aKAASHI!!" Iwaizumi, Oikawa, Kenma, Kuroo, Daichi, Sugawara, Tsukishima, Hinata, Nishinoya, and the whole Fukurodani volleyball team shouted at once.
"A- whA-" Akaashi stuttered.
"Thank you guys very much!" he practically bowed to show his gratitude.
"Woah too formal Akaashi, it's your b-day after all. Come on lets eat!" Daichi declared.
Bokuto and Kuroo choked down a ton of fries in attempt to see who can eat more- while Tsuki and Kenma glared in disgust. Hinata had taken the last piece of pizza, causing Noya to chase him around the table. After going around 17 times, Hinata tripped and fell, dropping the poor cheesy pizza. Sugamama tried to cheer up the crying Hinata, while Dadchi scolded Noya.
Oikawa and Hajime returned to the room after leaving, and came back with a huge cheesecake. It was smoothered in a bright red strawberry glaze and had vibrant strawberries on top. Some small candles with white and blue swirls were placed, a burning orange flame lit on top.
"3, 2, 1-"
"Happy birthday to youuu"
"HaPpy birthday to yoUu"
Akaashi cringed while the ear piercing sound flooded the room. Kenma also did so, as he covered his little cat ears.
"Happy BIRTHday dear Akaashi-"
Oikawa bursted out laughing at everyone's high note on 'birth'. While Iwa-chan snickered and mumbled the rest of the lyrics.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUU" Nishinoya's voice cracked on the last note. It echoed and a silence came after.
Kuroo snorted and laughed, followed by everyone else. Even Akaashi giggled as he blew out his candles with his eyes shut.
When he opened them he was surprised to see the flames still intact.
He tried again, and noticed the smile creeping on Bokuto's face.
Getting triggered, he blew with all his might, which was the cutest thing ever. The sparkling candles were defeated after a tornado like blow. Bokuto pulled out a sharp knife from god knows where, and started stabbing the cake. Not literally, but everyone's pieces were very random and had a different proportion.
When everyone was super stuffed after eating creamy cheesecake, Oikawa had an idea.
"Let's go to the beach!" The beach was close to the restaurant, so why not.
Once they got there, it was quite dark but the shining moon provided a clear light. When all the dorky volleyball teens reached the sand, they swiftly stripped until they had nothing but their underwear on. Akaashi and Bokuto were the last two to walk onto the chilly sand. They walked past all the articles of clothing on the ground, about to take their own off.
Akaashi was obviously freezing as he slowly took off his pants and shirt. Bokuto grabbed him and carried Akaashi like a princess. He ran right into the water and didn't stop until it was up to his waist.
"What are you doing?!" Akaashi tried to wiggle his way free. Bokuto obeyed his wishes and dropped him into the water.
"aHHHHH" Akaashi splashed tons of water on him so he could know how cold it was too.
"Ok I get it!" Bokuto took a step closer until he was nose to nose with Akaashi. Well, nose to forehead because Bokuto was a whopping 3 centimeters taller.
"Has this been a cool b-day?"
"Not too shabby"
"Come on, its getting late, lets head back." They got out the water, followed by a few other people who had already started sneezing.
"Thank you all for coming today!" Akaashi bowed again, thanking everyone.
"No problem Akaashi!" said some guys.
"Happy birthday Akaashi!" said the others.
"Bye Akaashi!" said the rest.
As everyone walked their separate ways, Bokuto rubbed his hands together, obviously he was chilly. Suddenly, a running Iwaizumi appeared out of nowhere with Oikawa on his back.
"You want a piggy back ride too Akaashi?"

"I'll pass"
"Koutarou! Keiji! I have some towels if your still wet!" Oikawa yelled.
They all went back and got their stuff. They put back on their clothes after they had dried off.
"Your house is actually only 12 minutes from here Bokuto." Akaashi remarked. So they started walking to Bokuto's place. It was already 11 pm. When they got to Bokuto's house, Akaashi ran across the street to go to his place to say goodnight to his parents. He'd be back in only a few minutes.
While he was gone, Bokuto waited outside his front door. A girl came walking towards him. She was wobbly, probably drunk. As she got closer and closer Bokuto could definitely smell vodka on her lips. Her mascara was runny and her eyes puffy. She'd clearly had a rough night. He finally recognized her as a girl from school.
"Hey, are you all right?"
"Koutarou" she slurred her words.
"What's wrong?"
"I love youuuu" she hiccuped.
"Um, what?" Bokuto was very confused that this random girl was confessing to him.
"You know, I like ya a lot!" she laughed.
"I think you should get home, you want me to call a uber? Lyft?"
"Koutarou don't you recognize me!"
"Yah your in my class."
"We've been in the same class for 3 years! I sit next to you! I've been to every one of your volleyball games! I even eat lunch with you and your friends sometimes!" her voice got louder and louder.
"Im in love with you and I want to kiss you rIGHT NOW"
"Wai-" Bokuto took a step back, but she'd already lounged herself at him and place a messy kiss on his mouth. He gently pushed her off him.
"Look I don't feel the same way, and I never will. I have a boyfriend. You're extremely drunk and need to go home. NOw." he said sternly. She realized what she'd done and was ashamed and embarrassed. She ran off sobbing.
This was all just a strange event, that Bokuto handled well, but could easily be misinterpreted. Akaashi most definitely misunderstood all of this as he watched from outside his house, across the street. He made eye contact with Bokuto and ran. Akaashi ran so far down the street as Bokuto yelled for him to stop.
He'd lived in this area all his life but right now it was basically pitch black and he had no idea where he was as he rested against a tree. A tree with a craving in it. He believed it read Bokuto, and Akaashi right underneath. This was their park that they'd grew up in. Akaashi couldn't see the bright pink cherry blossom leaves fall, but he heard them as the wind swiftly passed him. A single tear streamed down his face. 'Hadn't he done enough crying for today?' he thought. He felt pathetic.
Bokuto appeared, as Akaashi knew he would. Its not like he didn't want him to be here. But theres' a part in his brain that makes him believe the worst in situations. 'Bokuto's already cheating on you huh?' 'Of course he doesn't love you' he thought.
"Do I even have to explain that a drunk girl forced herself on me?" Bokuto looked crushed. As if he'd thought it was over between them.
"Drunk huh? well I'm not mad"
"I'll try to make sure things like this don't happen again ok Keiji?" Bokuto said as if he was losing Akaashi.
Akaashi forced all the doubt and self hatred in his mind out and for once felt assured. He knew Bokuto loved him. He knew he loved Bokuto. Bokuto was a little astonished when Akaashi leaned in for a kiss. It was nothing like any previous ones. It was slow and yet full of impatience as if Akaashi had been waiting forever. His hands were wrapped around his neck pushing himself deeper. They both got a little out of breath but continued their little make out session. Akaashi let some small moans escape him as Bokuto trailed his kisses to the nape of his neck.
"Wait."
"What? Don't wanna do this?" asked Bokuto.
"Hell yah i want too, but maybe not outside..." They finally felt the cool air and shivered.
"Lets continue at my place" Bokuto said.
"Sure"
"OO I almost forgot something!" Bokuto screamed.
"What?" he reached in his pocket and pulled out a small box.
"Happy birthday Akaashi." Akaashi opened the box to reveal 2 matching silver rings. The rings looked no where near cheap.
"Woah!" Akaashi tried it on and it was a perfect fit. He notice a small engraving on it..
"His little owl" Akaashi read the small letters out loud. Bokuto put the other ring on that read the same thing. They laughed the whole way back to Bokuto's house. Hand in hand, never letting go.

Ashes of the Primordial
With the upcoming shutdown of the servers for Ragnarok Games’ deep dive VRMMO, ‘Ashes of the Primordial’, the player log of those online for the final night was depressingly empty-looking. A revolutionary level of realism drove Ashes to the forefront of the games market, billions of players enjoying their journey to power and glory as an avatar of their own creation. The final enemy of the game-world defeated, the company announced, in line with their stance from launch, that they would be shutting down the game exactly six months after the defeat of Sutr, the final boss. Ammanas, the player responsible for Sutr's defeat, stays online until the end. However, as the countdown hits 0, the start-hub of his dive rig (what would typically greet a forced ejection from a game) was no where to be seen and instead darkness greets him as he fades into unconsciousness. Awakening to unfamiliar sights in an unfamiliar body, one which turns out to be a lot more familiar than he first thought, now he must figure out where, how, why and what to do with the new world he finds himself in. Author note: I don't own the cover, just something found through a google search. This is also my first story and the MC will basically be unimaginably OP yet never really utilising his full power. He just wants to find somewhere to fit in to the new world he finds himself in and despite both his nature as a loner and his interests he will find himself forming connections with the denizens of this new realm.
