Bokuto was late to practice, 10 minutes late. It didn't seem that long, but he has never done that, especially as captain. Akaashi was already mad, but became furious when Bokuto just strolled in like nothing happened.

"Where were you?" Akaashi said trying to calm down.

"No where."

"What were you doing with those girls?"

"Nothing important." Bokuto smiled like it was funny, but Akaashi didn't think it at all was.

He could still remember the smile on those girls and Bokuto's face. They were laughing and talking, especially one girl. She probably would be Bokuto's new girlfriend. 'What about their promise?' Akaashi thought.

Bokuto just made him madder, so he just couldn't concentrate during practice, even thought they were just about to play a mini game.

"Akaashi!"

He blinked and looked around him. All eyes were on him. He had just missed another ball. 'How many is that?' He had lost track. He was doing absolutely horrible right now.

He tried to pay attention now. He focused and started getting the ball and setting it up for players. But the tosses were very, very shitty. Akaashi noticed, but didn't care. He couldn't do anything about it. His mind wasn't in the right place at all.

He was pondering about all the things Bokuto had done to him. It's not like he was mean to him, but the way he made him feel, pissed him off. It was because he had no control over it. He pinned that angry towards Bokuto, and stopped setting the volleyball to him during the game.

One after another, Bokuto watched Akaashi tossed it to other people. He even stopped calling for it.

"Fine Akaashi! I don't want you to toss it to me anyway!" Bokuto was now in his emo mode.

"Ok. I wasn't planning too."

And he really meant. Practice ended, and he never did. _______________________________________________________________________________

*Flashback*

Back when they were about 8 and 9, and when they started playing volleyball, they made a promise.

It was Bokuto who loved and played volleyball first. He of course, forced Akaashi in to it, but he liked it too. Bokuto was extremely enthusiastic about being a spiker, and Akaashi liked how happy he was. He smiled the most whenever they played together, but not as big as Bokuto's smile when he hit it. Akaashi wanted to dedicate his style of volleyball to evolve around Bokuto. So he decided to be a setter. As for Bokuto, he was thrilled that the two played well together. Akaashi would set it, and Bokuto hit it. They were the perfect match.

"Akaashi?"

"What?"

"Do you like volleyball?"

"Yeah, its fine."

"Do you like being setter? Do you like tossing it to me?"

"I only like tossing it to you, so yeah. And tossing it to you is the whole reason why I'm a setter!" Akaashi laughed. He thought Bokuto was asking the most ridiculous questions. But Bokuto was serious.

"I wanna play this when I'm older too, maybe when I'm in highschool.... Would you still play with me then?"

"Well, we're gonna be together throughout that whole period of time, so I see why not." This response made Bokuto smile. He never knew that Akaashi felt the same way about going to the same highschool and being best friends the whole time.

"Last question. Is volleyball fun to you?"

"Yah, sure."

'As long as I'm playing with you...' Is what he really wanted to say.

"Let's play together forever! And always have fun doing it!" Bokuto stuck out his hand for a high five, and then they did a pinkie promise to seal the deal.

"Of course!"

*End Of Flashback * _________________________________________________________________________________

*Back to where we were at the end of volleyball practice*

Bokuto had never seen Akaashi act this way in volleyball, he started to worry. 'Does he hate me? Does he hate volleyball? Why?' These thoughts started to stress Bokuto out as much as Akaashi was.

While getting a sip of water, he heard Akaashi say something under his breath as he was preparing to leave.

"I hate this......." He mumbled quietly.

'What?!! What about our promise?!' Bokuto thought as he started freaking out.

He swiftly gathered his stuff to leave so he could talk to Akaashi, but he was no where to be seen.

'Did he leave!?' They had always walked together, so why did he go without him?

He ran outside thinking he could catch up with him, but was startled when he felt hard rain fall on him. But he needed to talk to his best bud really badly, and continued to run out in the rain.

Akaashi was prepared for the rain obviously, he had brought an umbrella.

He arrived at his house almost completely dry and slammed the door. A drop of water slid down his face, but it wasn't from the rain, he was crying. 'Why am I so stressed about this? Why is he always on my mind?!' He tried to believe it was because Bokuto was his best friend, but the feeling he had was unexplainable. 'Why?!' Akaashi already knew from a long time ago. 'Dammit!' He has now remembered a certain incident.

Akaashi, like I said before, basically only had his volleyball bros and Bokuto. But there was this one intelligent and cute girl named Lizzie, who was his exception. No, no, they didn't feel that way about each other, they were classmates, and for school they would always be partners for schoolwork. So thats when they really talked to each other and became good friends. Plus+ Akaashi had helped Lizzie get with the guy of her dreams, Haiba Lev. Long story short, their both in a good relationship because of him.

*Another flashback I guess (its of a convo the two had not too long ago)

"Akaashi-san, why don't you like anyone?"

"It's not like that- I mean, I guess I do."

"Who?"

"I'm not really sure...."

"Is it Bokuto-san?"

"What?! Of course not!"

"It's not like you have to hide it, you two are super cute together."

"But, but, were both-"

"Guys? yah, so. That doesn't matter."

"But-"

"Look at Oikawa and Iwaizumi! Their both gay, but their adored! Same goes for Kaama and Hinata! It's not like you too are gonna be bullied."

"I um,"

"Whats the problem?"

"Bokuto's not gay!"

"You sure about that?" She gestured to Bokuto who was far away from them, but you could see him having a blast over there with Kuroo. They were laughing really hard, and were awfully close to each other. They even had their arms wrapped around the others shoulder.

"If Kuroo wasn't already with Kenma, I bet they'd be together."

"Your wrong. Bokuto has had a girlfriend before."

"I mean, he obviously doesn't know yet."

"Yah, that proves my point. He probably would reject me because he's not sure of his feelings."

"Do you know if you are?"

"Bokuto make me feels like it...." Akaashi blushed.

Lizzie giggled, and started to ask more questions.

"Besides being worried about that, are you worried if Bokuto can't be gay?"

"You mean, if his parents mind?"

"Yah, are they against it?"

"Um- I'm sure both our parents don't care." Akaashi started laughing. Lizzie was unsure why, but oh well.

"I think you really do like him a lot."

"What makes you say that."

"Does he make you feel happy? He makes you madder than anyone else? Does he make you worried? Jealous? Do you feel like your about to melt, explode, or does your heart beat fast when he's with you?"

Before he could reply, he was shocked that the truthful answer to all those questions was 'yes'.

"Um, maybe,,," Lizzie knew she was right and smirked.

"Anyway, my point to you Akaashi, is to tell Bokuto you like him. You'll get a good response, trust me."

*Back to Akaashi

Akaashi stopped crying and thanks to his flashback, he knew what to do.

'Should I tell him?' Is all he could think about. 'Maybe tomorrow, after school.... how? Do I just say : I like you.,?' He started practicing in the mirror how he would say it.

"Bokuto-san, I have to tell you something," he took a deep breath in.

"I l-" The sound of someone rapidly knocking on his door disrupted him. Akaashi cautiously walked to his door, not knowing who it was. His parents were at a party for business at a hotel, so they wouldn't be back until tomorrow afternoon.

He unlocked the door and turned the knob and opened it slightly. He saw Bokuto on the other side. He wanted to hug him and apologize right there, but his body didn't respond the way he wanted it too. The wrong words just slipped out of his mouth.

"What the hell are you doing here?" he said in a pissed off voice, still not allowing Bokuto to enter.

"Um, Akaashi its raining you know"

"So. You should leave."

"Whats up with you?" Bokuto said as he tried to take a step inside the house. Akaashi pushed the door back, closing it.

"Come on! Open the door!" Akaashi opened it slightly again.

"Go away."

"Why should I."

"Get the fuck away from me."

Bokuto just stood there in shock as Akaashi shut the door closed, for good now.

Akaashi stomped to his room, only to hear rocks banging against his window. He opened the curtain to see Bokuto standing there, still in the rain. Akaashi thought he cold catch a serious cold if he didn't go home, but with this persistent attitude, it didn't look like he was going hime anytime soon. Akaashi opened the window to let Bokuto climb inside.

"Listen Bokuto, I guess you could spend the night, but only because its cold, and-"

He was cut off by Bokuto hugging him.

"What are you doing? Get off your wet!" Bokuto still stuck to him like glue.

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"Whatever your mad at me at."

"I'm not mad at you baka."

"Then why did you say all that stuff-"

"I'm, just going through some stuff.... I think I..."

Bokuto gave him a puzzled look. Akaashi looked up at him and was about to say it, but realized Bokuto was soaking wet and was centimeters from his face. His hair fell in his face, and his clothes were sticking to him. He felt like his heart was going to explode like a firework. He avoided eye contact and turned his head.

"Hellooooo, you were saying?" Bokuto lifted Akaashi's chin to make him look at him again.

"It- was, um- nothing." he managed to stutter out.

"Come on! You know you can tell me anything!" they were still super close to eachother, but Akaashi couldn't take it anymore.

"Bokuto-san, do you like anyone?"

"Hmm? That's um- Wait, who do you like?"

"Um- he's"

"HE?"

"Oh um" Akaashi had to go and say that.

"He's a good friend of mine ok. Go ahead. Make fun of me all you want."

"Whats he like?"

"He's nice."

"Oh yah? just nice?"

"Well he's my-"

"Best friend?" Akaashi looked at Bokuto in shock.

"I mean I'm just guessing Akaashi, I hope that you like your best friend, me. Because I like you very much."

"You don't get it Bokuto-san. I'm serious. I like love you and not as just a friend."

"What??? Me too Akaashi! I love you too!" Akaashi was just about to get annoyed with Bokuto's childish behavior, but was caught by surprise when something warm touched his lips. 'He's kissing me????!!!' After about the best 3 seconds of Akaashi's life, Bokuto pulled back.

"Now do you believe me?"
