"Rise and shine... Pumpkin! You got to be ready by two!" Zeus' voice breaks my cold sweat and I bury my head in the cold satin pillow.
"Zeus?" I ask.
"Not time for chit chat... Effie will kill!"
"Okay." I slouch and shuffle into the bathroom where I see Zeus has already planted some sort of concoction into my usual morning bath.
The green mush is sort of soothing and smells like fresh mint with a hint of orange.
Zeus lifts my bare leg from the tub and examines it.
"Zeus?" I shout struggling out of his grip.
"Not as bad as your mother's were." He blinks, "Cinna told me all about how Octavia was complaining about the mass of hair."
"Yeah... Well I was lucky mom bought me a Razor at eleven! Now let go!"
"A simple shave wil do."
"Good!"
"Jeez! Fiesty much?"
"I'm sorry... Now what do you want me to wear?" Zeus disappears behind the wall and I can hear him creak the wardrobes doors open.
"This!"
I stare at the pink orange sparkly... well gown. A pure gold bow ties in the back as it wraps around the upper hips. Glitter has drenched the dress in an iridescence of beauty that seems to mesmerize. It has a sort of heart cut top with no sleeves, and the entire dress glows like the sun.
"Oh my gosh Zues it... It's beautiful."
"Cinna designed it before the rebellion... It was originally for Prim... For the victory ceremony Katniss and Peeta... I mean your mom and dad were suppose to give at the end of the rebellion."
"But than Prim died and so did Coin... and so did Cinna." My voice trails of with my thoughts.
"Well... It is over now. Hop in. Oh and these are the shoes." He pulls out four inch high gold heals.
"Beautiful but I will fall."
"Don't worry we will figure something out!"
I dress and find he has already got every ounce of makeup found in every nook and cranny of his tributes bag.
I close my eyes and let him work his magic.

"There! Beautiful!" Zeus' eyes are planted on mine.
I get up and look in the mirror to find something erupting from my body... it literally is glowing... like, like the sun.
"Zeus... It's magical."
"You are now... Rosie The Girl Who Shone Brighter Than The Sun."
"Oh Zeus."
"Now come on we have to go."
We walk down the stairs and enter the glass elevator.
I stop and stair at my reflection in the clear glass.
"You may want to spin... Cinna was known for his twirl shifts."
"Okay... I won't go on fire right?"
"I can't answer that." I suddenly become very nervous and find myself inhaling and exhaling fast.
Zeus seems to discover my fright and grabs me by the hand and embraces me for a split second.
"You will always win, good always wins."
I nod knowing what he means isn't in relation to style or interviews it is in relation to the games.
"Max." The elevator doors open.
"Hey Rose." Max waves.
I jump faster than my heals could carry me and instead of hugging Max I fall into him and he gracefully pulls me into a sort of dip an winks at me and lifts me back up.
"Sorry it is these shoes... Effie hasn't worked on me with them yet."
"It's okay... you have always been a klutz." We both giggle.
"You two?" Zeus looks down at us, "Oh I am going to go grab a coffee... Um, Olivia." That must be Max's stylists name, "Come with."
"Okay!" Her peppy voice seems to excite everyone in the room.
They walk off into the abyss and press the buttons for us.
Max breaks the silence.
"I missed you!"
"It has only been a night."
"I don't care Rosie."
"I know you don't." And with that his lips touch mine and I press the elevator stop button so this moment never has to end.
I feel my hands through his brown hair and soon rap my hands around his neck and feel the collar of his tux.
He smiles as he pulls away... That kiss was different than others... It was magnificent, the sparks flew and the stars aligned.

"You nervous." Max goes right back to our conversation as if nothing happened.
I press the "go" button in answer.
We stand there in silence before I feel a hand on mine.
His hand on mine.
The elevator stops and we stand in line him behind me.
First comes District one, two, three, four... and so on until a man dressed in all black grabs my hand.
I tip-toe on stage and send Max one final glance.
I see Caesar survived the rebellion.
"Now there is the girl of the hour! Rose Madge Mellark everyone!" I wave and see that Caesar's hair is definitely a hotpink wig, "Wow may I say you look absolutely stunning as beautiful as the sun in the sky." My lips move but no noise comes out.
"Thank you Caesar!" I say at last, "You know my outfit was made for my Aunt Prim."
"Oh yes the one your sister volunteered for."
"Why yes I see you remember."
"How could we have forgotten?"
"Things here seem to be forgotten very easily. I forgot it was Wednesday! Maybe it's the clean air? Does it smell strange to you?" I look around sniffling carefully.
"Hm? I don't smell it." He smiles and points his finger at me.
"Well you've lived here longer." The entire crowd erupts in laughs.
"Yes I have." He laughs, "Now did your parents come and say there final words to you?"
"They did."
"And your little brother."
"Dare was there too."
"What did you tell them?"
"I promised my little brother I back... and my entire family knows I will try."
"Yes you will... Now let m say you are a spitting image of your mother."
"Thank you... She has taught me everything I know... But the charm that came naturally with my father in the house."
"I see... Now let's talk about your dress... In the past your Mother's stylist Cinna-"
"God rest his soul." Everyone in the crowd says 'Amen'
"Has hidden surprises in the dresses."
"It's true... You know i am not quite sure what the surprise is but I can show you and it will be a surprise to both of us!"
"On with it!"
I stand up and begin spinning careful to spot where I go. Suddenly my dress lights up and I begin to smell daisies... I soon find my dress is literally glowing.
"Just like the Sun!" I stop spinning as the crowd erupts in 'aw's'
"Well what can I say... Zeus has all his brother's talents... No one else could have gotten me into this dress."
"Thank yo for joining us today!" Caesar whispers, "Rosie Mellark The Girl Who Shone Brighter Than The Sun!"
I air kiss him and walk off.
"Well wasn't she a doll?" I hear him say to the crowd.
Max heads on stage and I find he has no surprises he speaks the truth until Caesar asks him a question I didn't know he knew to say.
"Max my boy? Are there any new starstruck lovers that have grown up in District 12."
"Ask Rose."
"Well why don't we? Rose!" He shouts of stage and I hear so I walk on I stop in front of max and Caesar points to Max's lap, "Rosie... Should us viewers expect any cave action." I sink into Max's legs.
"I'd say yes!" I hug Max pretending there is no one else in the world but us.
"Looks like Rosie knows just how to steal a heart like her mother." Caesar giggles, "I don't have a bell but kiss!" The crowd erupts in cheers.
Max leans in and the camera is right on us. Our lips touch sending electricity through us.
Everyone says "Oooo!"
"Well I got my wish!" Max says. We all laugh.
"Maxwell Hawthorne and the future Rosie Hawthorne!"
"Goodbye Caesar!" We walk of stage in sync.
Effie stands in the wigs smiling with a tissue risen to her chest and tears in her eyes.
"You two are better than the soaps!"

A Virtual Invasion
An invasion from another dimension is shut down by an Empire's traitor and the world has a scant few decades to build the strength to resist a multidimensional Empire. How will the world fair when no one even knows its doom is one barred gate away? Fortunately, the traitor has a plan. Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
