Universal POV:

I watch as the twelve golden chariots leave the building at the end of the track and begin to make their way along the parade route, moving towards the President at the end. Each of the golden chariots is being pulled by a white horse with golden armour on it.

The twelve golden chariots are being led by a silver chariot with last year’s Victor – Isis Slater – of District One riding alone in it. Isis is wearing a beautiful and exotic golden dress and her blonde hair is tied up in a neat bun at the top of her head.

She smiles to the crowd and waves her hands at them, they roar in admiration and toss roses at her. In her hand, she carries beautifully designed black spear – the exact one that she won the Games with this time last year.

I still remember the final day of her Games like it was only yesterday. She had been teaming with two other careers – both males – since day one and five days later, it ended up being the three of them left in the arena. Last year had been a very harsh year, the unforgiving temperatures of the desert arena had killed at least ten tributes in the first three days, so the Games hadn’t been very action packed. This was the finish everyone wanted. Well, everyone in the Capitol anyway!

The two guys turned on Isis instantly when they found out they were the last three, the wanted to take her out so they could have a fair fight, one on one to the death. They had greatly underestimated her, she was a natural with her spear. They should have known that considering she was the highest scoring female in the training sessions, however they attacked her anyway.

Both the boys had swords and were pretty vicious towards Isis, however she made quick work of one of them – spearing him through the throat, and then smashing the hilt of her spear into his leg. He fell to the ground and slowly bled out as Isis and the boy who had been proclaiming his love to her only the day before argued.

‘’ How dare you do this to me!’’ She had roared. ‘’ You were telling me how much you loved me yesterday.’’

The boy – Bailon – had sniggered. ‘’ You believed that shit? It was all for the cameras baby.’’

Isis hadn’t even replied, she simply jabbed her spear forwards and lodged it through his skull. Then she fell to the ground and began to sob as the Head Gamemaker had congratulated her.

You wouldn’t be able to tell that though by looking at her now, she is cheering with joy as the Capitol citizens shower her in flowers and she laughs happily. The fame and fortune was obviously enough to push the pain and sadness aside.

Behind Isis is the first chariot, with the District One tributes, Brutis Glaze and Belle Cyrus. Brutis wears a plush white tuxedo with a black tie and black shoes. His hair has been combed to the side and he looks rather smart in the attire. He has a golden ring on one of his fingers that looks like it costs more that all of his normal wardrobe back home and it glints as it catches the lights. He smiles and waves at the crowd and they cheer his name and toss flowers at him.

Beside him, Belle is wearing a beautiful white dress that elongates down to her ankles. She wears a magnificent pair of silver strapped high heels and her brown hair is curled and tied up on the top of her head – quite similar to Isis’ hair. The two are standing beside each other smiling, although judging by the distance between the two it is very clear that Belle can’t stand Brutis – and rightly so! The crowd cheer for Belle mostly and toss flowers at her which she smiles warmly at.

The next chariot contains the District Two tributes, Margo Mead and Ravina Quill. Margo is wearing a white suit that has been tweaked to resemble a Peacekeeper uniform. He wears white shoes and also wears the Peacekeeper helmet although it has been modified so his face is in view. He also holds what looks like one of the Peacekeeper batons that are normally used to stun people via electric shock, however when he swipes it through the air, it fires silver glitter from it towards the crowd.

Ravina is dressed similarly to Margo, she wears very unusual yet beautiful white leggings, with a butterfly embroidery on them – definitely designed by a Capitol citizen – and wears a white Peacekeeper jacket that has been changed to actually look fashionable. She too wears a helmet and wields one of the glitter confetti wands and she fires it into the crowd. The glitter cannons cause the crowd to go crazy, they scream ‘District Two’ repeatedly and toss flowers at the two tributes.

Following them is the carriage for District Three, with Echo Sparks and Osmo Overton sitting inside. Echo looks stunning, her white hair has been straightened completely and it hangs down past her shoulders elegantly. In her hair is a pretty blue ribbon tied into a bow and she wears a pair of fake yellow glasses to make her look like a nerd. She wears a brown pair of short shorts and a dark green cardigan.

Osmo sits beside her wearing cream coloured chinos and a blue t-shirt. His hair has been tidied and he too wears a pair of funky looking glasses of a dark blue shade. Unlike Echo’s pair, his are real. The crowd roars in admiration as the two pass and scream ‘Osho’ as they do, the duo’s unofficial team name. Like the other tributes, Osho are bombarded with roses and other flowers, more so than the others.

Following their chariot are the tributes of District Four, Caspian Reef and Lilly Cullen. Caspian is dressed in just a pair of shorts and flip flops. His designers have left no room for the imagination and have decided to leave him topless. On top of his curly head sits a pair of sunglasses and in his hand is a fake trident – not anywhere near as deadly as the ones available in the arena.

Lilly sits on his lap, she is wearing a bra made out of seashells and in her hair is flowing beautifully and freely from her head. On her bottom half, she has a green silk robe wrapped around her, with Hawaiian flower patterns on it. She is also wearing a pair of flip flops. In her hand, she has a large conch shell, and as they ride, she blows it – filling the stadium with its heavenly music.

The crowd scream crazily for the two, and continue to shower them in flowers while they cheer in complete and utter admiration.

Following them are the District Five twins, Ethan and Ellie Rhodes. Ethan wears a fully black suit, with a black waistcoat, a black dickey-bow, black trousers and black shoes. Ellie is dressed in a similarly black dress that stretches down to her feet, hiding them from view. Ellie also wears a crown on her head, although it is quite unusual. The crown is made of glass, with a silvery rim that goes around her head. It is a very weird shape, almost like a light bulb. Ethan wears one too, although his isn’t as big.

Without warning, the two tributes light up. Their dark clothes have hidden light sources sewn into them, and they glow beautifully, as if they are wearing a coat of fireflies. As well as this, both of their light bulb crowns begin to sparkle, as if there is a miniature fireworks display going on inside them. They both look truly astonishing and the crowd seems to agree, they scream the names of the twins in awe and admiration.

Next up is District Six, the transportation District and the two tributes – Odhan Tyrell and Acacia Frost – are dressed up suitably. They both look ravishing in their clothes. Odhan is dressed as a train captain in a navy suit and a red tie. He also has a matching navy hat and attached to their chariot is a bell. When Odhan pulls a lever, it hoots like the noise a normal train would make.

Acacia is dressed as an air hostess, wearing a lovely little costume and hat that only looks good because of her young age. It would truly look stupid on anyone older than her but she manages to pull it off quite well. Her hair is tied up at the back of her head neatly and she wears light make up on her face that makes her a bit older.

Following them is the District Seven tributes in their chariot. Both Min Yan and Cricket Wakely are dressed appropriately for the Lumber District. They both wear blue dungarees with green shirts beneath them and both wield fake axes. Min’s brown hair is curled and tied up beautiful, the tips have been died a dark green colour, a similar shade of the shirt she is wearing and she smiles at the adoring crowd who cheer her name.

Cricket’s hair has also been done up, and is completely different to what it looked like during the Reaping. They have washed and styled his hair that was very recently quite messy and now he looks quite presentable. The crowds of Capitol citizen cheer for the both of them and the two wave politely back.

After them is the District Eight chariot, holding Stitch Gable and Phox Halebrooks. The tributes are both wearing very similar clothing. They both wear a full length costume of two colours, pink and blue. They are almost dressed like circus jesters, although they wear crowns of feathers – again blue and pink.

Although Phox seems to be pretty happy with way she is dressed – which is quite obvious from the broad smile across her youthful face – Stitch doesn’t seem very impressed at all. Despite this, he waves at the crowd cheering his name and they toss flowers at him and Phox happily.

Following them are the District Nine tributes Ike Nash and Bliss Dixon. The two are dressed in silvery costume, bejewelled with diamonds that reflect all the different lights in the stadium, making them glint a rainbow of colours. Both tributes are smiling broadly as the Capitol citizens scream for them as they have the other tributes. Flowers are tossed by their fans and they wave and cheer for the tributes frantically – screaming with excitement whenever the tributes wave back.

Next up in the entourage of tribute chariots is District Ten. The two tributes, Adaline Trunkette and Pious Carrington are both dressed in farming clothing to represent their District – Livestock. They wear white shirts with golden cowboy hats and their white shirts have a similarly golden tie. They wear brown trousers and matching brown shoes and have golden rope attached to their belts.

Adaline’s hair is braided into two pigtails on the back of her head, and they hang onto her shoulders. Pious’ short brown hair is tucked neatly beneath his hat. They both are quite tanned – presumably because of the amount of time they probably spend outside in the fields tending animals. The crowd screams their names crazily and again, showers them with flowers and cheers for them. The two tributes smile and wave, which causes the crowds to scream even louder.

The penultimate chariot holds the District Eleven tributes, Gauze – or G – Weaver and Blossom Abernathy. They are wearing navy dungarees, however they are not made of denim. They seem to be made from the same silk material that the suits of some other tributes are made of. They wear white shirts beneath and also have silvery crowns perched on their head.

Blossom’s dungarees have the bottom half of a skirt, which stretches down to just above her knees. She wears a small pair of short high heeled shoes and her hair is curled. Gauze’s dungarees elongate into a pair of very fashionable trousers. He wears very smart looking shoes and his short hair is spiked upwards.

The crowds seem to love him, because he blows a few kisses and the ladies in the crowd literally swoon. Some pretend to catch his kisses and store them away in their pockets, others simply scream his name and toss flowers at him. Although not nearly as many cheer for little Blossom as they do for Gauze, quite a lot do, and she too is showered in flowers tossed by fans.

The final carriage, carrying Arianna Winslow and Alistair Balentine is next. Both tributes are dressed plainly in coal miner outfits. The President has obviously warned their stylists not to make them in anyway outstanding, because if they are memorable, they may get sponsors. The President won’t want that, as they are being sent into the arena as punishment and he will not want them returning.

Despite this, the two tributes wave at the crowd, and although most of the citizens ignore them and cheer for different tributes, quite a number of people do cheer them on as well as tossing flowers in their direction.

The tributes trail after Isis Slater a couple of times around the stadium, and then after their Districts and names are called, they make their way back the way they came. As the chariots approach the exit, the screaming fans continue to shout, chant almost, the names of their favoured tributes. The tributes continue smiling, waving and blowing kisses as they depart the stadium.
