《Looed and Lost You 》_Chapter Forty-two: Fireflies_

Halo didn't wake up this morning.
She used her three little wings and flew away.
Gabriel had left at some point during the day.
I refused to let anyone take her body.
If from what I was told was the truth half the neighborhood had been destroyed.
The people in it killed.
Human people. Dead.
Because of me.
Because I let my powers loose.
I lost control.
I sat in the dark for what felt like years to me.
No more tears could be shed.
I was numb.
I didn't do anything when the door opened. I just sat staring at the wall.
"Cansas...You need to eat something." Balthazar's voice rang through my ears. He walked over and stood beside me.
"Cansas." He said but I did nothing. He placed the sandwich on the ground next to me.
"At least a bite. Not even a huge one." Still nothing.
"The Winchesters have called you. More times then I would like to count." Silence. Balthazar sighed.
"Well, I'll be downstairs if you need me. Please, try to eat something. You're still human." He walked towards the door.
"I want to burn her body..." My hoarse voice said. Balthazar stopped and looked back at me.
"Are you sure? I can get-"
"I want to do it," I said wiping the dried tears from my cheeks.
"I'm the one w-who...I made her that way. I-I'll do it." Balthazar walked back over to me and knelt down.
"You couldn't have stopped it Cansas. It wasn't your fault." I shook my head. I was the monster that gave her an overdose on power. It was my fault.
"Would you do me a favor..."
"Anything." I pointed behind me on the bed to where Halo was in an endless sleep.
"C-Can you wrap h-her b-body...I can't do it." Balthazar nodded.
"Of course." And then he got up and took Halo. When he left I curled myself up in a ball.
When the sun set and the moon rose was when Gabriel came back. I had finally gotten out of my bedroom and was sitting in the kitchen. A bowl a cereal sat in front of me but I didn't eat it. Gabriel came in smelling of alcohol. Blood covered him. Some was his while some was others.
"Where's Balthazar?" He asked as he pulled a beer out of the fridge. I watched this and then looked back to my uneaten bowl of cereal.

"Outback." I moved my spoon in a circular motion. Gabriel ripped the top off and took a long swig.
"Why?" He sat down at the table in front of me. I didn't look up at him.
"To sent up a fire." He took another swig of his drink.
"Why?" He said a little annoyed. I glanced up at him.
"So I can salt and burn her body." Gabriel was silent. His grip on the bottle of beer tightened.
"Was that his idea?" I placed my spoon down and looked at him.
"It was mine." The glass bottle broke and pieces of glass flew all over the place. I didn't bat an eye at this.
"We are not doing a hunters burial."
"I'm a hunter."
"So?"
"That's how I 'bury' people." Gabriel didn't say anything and we glared at each other. Eventually, I looked back down at my bowl of cereal and continued to play with it. Gabriel had gotten a bottle of jack and was drinking that.
Balthazar walked back in and stopped when he saw us. Gabriel glared over at him.
"You're back."
"No shit Sherlock. Are you done building the fire pit?"
"It's not a pit," I said not looking up at him.
"Then what is it?"
"A pyre." The room fell silent again. I stood up abruptly.
"We're starting at 12. Change." I said before walking back into my room. I curled up in the same corner I had been in all day.
When 12 rolled around I changed out of my sweats. I put on jeans and a black flannel. Walking down the stairs I could hear the tv on. Gabriel sat on the couch watching tv, while he drank. I stopped at door and stared at him for a while.
He looked over at me and then looked back at the tv. With a heavy sigh, he turned the tv off and stood up, but not without taking a long swig. I walked out the door not bothering to wait for him. Balthazar stood outback waiting for us. He turned around and gave me a half-hearted smile.
I didn't look at the tiny figure. I just kept my head down. Gabriel came out no soon then me. We all stood there in the dark.
"Is it going to light on fire?" Gabriel asked looking away. Without saying a word I picked up the bag of salt and walked over to the wooden structure. Taking a shaky breath I started to pour salt onto the wrapped figure. Then I sprayed lighter fluid on top of everything. Taking a few steps back I took out my lighter and lit it.

It took all my willpower to throw it onto the pyre. The lighter fluid caught fire fast and started to burn everything.
"B-bye...H-Halo...Purgatory's going to be a bitch..." I said making myself chuckle. But that chuckle turned into sobs. A few trees that littered the backyard caught on fire as my sadness grew.
I soon found myself on my knees. When my knees hit the ground all the trees flew back and broke. The wet mud soaked through my jeans. Someone placed a hand on my shoulder and I weakly looked up to see it was Gabriel. But he didn't look down at me. He just watched as the ash flew away like fireflies.

Somewhere in Hell, Crowley caught wind of Halo's death. You would think since he was a big bad demon this wouldn't affect him. But something deep in his stone heart was saddened. Also, he had a trench coat wearing angel breathing down his neck about it.
So that's why he now stood outside of Purgatory's door. He told no demon of his whereabouts and didn't plan on telling anyone what he was about to do. Crowley opened the heavy door and a rush of wind flew out.
The demon walked through the door and he now stood in a gray forest. Creatures howled and hissed in the distance but he paid no mind to them. But what he did pay attention too was the little 5-year-old girl that danced around an open clearing.
She had loose dark blond curls and a face that resembled a certain archangel. Her eyes were the color of the deepest ocean with specs of the brightest gold. She wore a pink dress that swung around her legs as she moved.
"Hello, darling. What's that you're playing with?" He asked the girl. She turned around to face him. She held out her stuffed animal to show him. It was the teddy bear he had given to Cansas as a joke. But the little girl seemed to love it.
"My pet Hellhound! His name is Ziggy because he has a little red ziggy line on his mouth." Crowley knelt down to the girls leave. She pulled the stuffed animal close to her chest and giggled.
"Your face is weird." Crowley didn't respond to her comment. The little girl then placed her stuff animal on the ground. When she stood back up she placed her hands on the demons cheeks. Crowley's eyes widened a bit at this.
"But don't be sad! You are still very pretty. You don't need to feel bad because I have weird looking wings!" She said unfolding her three golden-brown wings. She turned a bit to show the black and blue spots that littered the base of her wings.
"But I'm not sad about it so you shouldn't feel bad about you!" She said with a huge smile. Crowley pulled her hands off his face.
"I'm feeling better already."
"Good! What's your name, mister? My names Halo Gace...I don't have a last name because my daddy doesn't have a last name so I guess I'd have mommy's last name which is Walker-"
"The names Crowley. It's very nice to meet you Halo." He said cutting her off. She didn't seem to mind though and held her hand out for the demon to shake it.
"It's very nice to meet you too Mister Crowley." He shook the little girl's hand. Halo let go and picked Ziggy up. She flapped her wings and giggled again.
"Tell me Halo. Would you like to go to a place with kids just like you?" Halo's eyes widened and she nodded her head.
"Is there going to be a playground?! Mommy talked about playgrounds a lot!"
"Whatever you want it to be. Now I have to get you to an angel. He's funny looking as well. This angel is going to bring you to that playground." Halo nodded again.
"Alright! I love angels!"
"Of course you do," Crowley muttered under his breath. "But Halo. To get to this angel we're going to have to go through a place that's very scary. Do you think you can be brave for me?" Halo thought about this before nodding again.
"I'll try." Crowley grinned at the girl before standing up. He held his hand out for Halo to take it and she did.
"Alright. What do you say we get out of here?"
"Yes!"

Humans Must Adapt!
Humans Must Adapt is a First Person point of view from the eyes of slightly crazy and totally not a masochist MC. The setting takes place on a copy of earth with a different name. A cataclysmic event causes the native humans to be usurped from their natural place at the top of the food chain. Time has now passed, and the Humans have managed to settle themselves into mediocrity. But this is not enough.Note: I don't plan on including sexual content. The MC won't have an end game goal right from the start. Feedback is welcomed. The MC is a Tamer.
