《Looed and Lost You 》_Chapter Three: Cheeseburgers and candy fries_

Once Gabriel and I made it to the diner we were seated at a table in the middle of the place. We both sat down and I looked over the menu.
"What are you going to get?" I asked looking to him. Gabriel looked up from the menu. "I'm going to going to get the double cheeseburger. You?" I placed my menu down on the table.
"I'm probably going to get just a cheeseburger." A lady with brown hair walked over to our table.
"What can I get you two today?"
After we order our food she left. "So you're friends are electricians?"
"Um...Yeah." I said lightly tapping my finger on the table. "They came by the school yesterday night." I nodded my head. "Yeah, they told me about that."
"So, you work with them?"
"No. No, I'm a criminal sketch artist." I said picking at the edge of my sketchbook. "Really? Well, my job must look like a joke then?" I chuckled and shook my head.
"No. I actually would love to be a janitor, to be honest. Not a whole lot a drama."
"Oh, there plenty of drama. I mean. Have you see the bathrooms?" Gabriel said making me laugh. The waitress came back with our food and I started to eat.
"Do you draw for fun?" Gabriel asks taking a bite of his double cheeseburger. I nod as I swallowed my food. "Yes. Every chance I get...Would you like to see?"
Gabriel nodded placing his burger down and whipping his hands on his jeans. "I would love to." I smiled and placed my burger down only to pick up my sketchbook and hand it to him.
Gabriel opened the cover to see a sketch of werewolf I had come across. Unfoundedly she killed herself after I told her she was a werewolf. Gabriel flipped through a couple of pages. "You must really love monsters." He said flipping another page.

"Yeah. They fascinate me to no end." I said eating a fry off my plate. Gabriel nodded as he came to the last page I had drawn in.
"An alien?" He questioned looking to me. I chuckled. "I got bored and was watching something about aliens."
After we finished our food and Gabriel paid, even after I protested against it, we left the diner. As we walked back to the school the sun was slowly setting. We walk past several small stores before Gabriel stopped at the brightly colored shop. I stopped walking and made my way back over to him.
"What? Do you want to go in?" I asked looking into the glass windows to see shelves and jars filled with various types of chocolates and candies.
Gabriel looked at me as I looked at him. I opened the glass door to the shop and walked in followed by Gabriel.
"Don't you have to get back to your friends? I don't want to hold you up or anything." Gabriel said as I looked around at the candy.
"It's fine. They don't care. As long as I'm out of the motel they could care less." I said grabbing two of the clear bags you get to put the candy in. Gabriel chuckled slightly as I handed him one of the bags.
"Alright, just as long as-oh!" He cut himself off when we passed the jar full of lollipops. He grabbed at least two handfuls of them and shoved them in the bag.
Once our bags were full of candy we paid and left the store. It was dark out by the time we were done and Gabriel was already digging through his bag of candy. He pulled out one of the lollipops and popped it in his mouth.
"You act like you've never had a piece of candy before," I said with a chuckle. "It feels like that sometimes." He said making me shake my head as I chuckled some more.

A few minutes later we made it to the front of the school. Only a few students lingered. Some in groups others by themselves.
"How far away is the motel you're staying in?" Gabriel asked as I turned to face him.
"Um...not that far. It's just a couple of miles past the bar." I said tightening my grip on my sketch pad which had started to become heavier in my hand.
"Would you like me to walk you? I mean- so you don't get mugged or anything." I chuckled knowing full well that I could fight off any attacker.
"Yeah. That would be nice. Don't want my candy being taken." I said lifting the bag a bit. Gabriel smiled.
"Well, show the way."
By the time we got to the motel the stars had come out overhead and a few bats could be seen flying overhead here and there. I walked up the stairs followed by Gabriel and down the hallway to my door, trying to be as quiet as I could as to not wake the brothers up next door. I opened my door and the turned to Gabriel.
"Well...thank you. This evening was great. One of the best I've had in awhile." I said with a smile. Gabriel smiled back.
"Thank you for joining me," I opened my arms wide, the weight of the candy and my sketchbook weighing them down a bit. Gabriel opened his arms as well and we both hugged each other. After a few minutes, we let go of each other.
"I'll see you later," I said with a smile.
"See ya," Gabriel said waving slightly to me before turning and leaving. I sighed and made my way into my dark room. I shut the door as I turned the lights on. Walking over to the tiny table in the 'kitchen' I kicked my shoes off and threw my sketch pad and candy bag on the table.
Walking past the table and over to my blue bag. I picked it up and set it on the bedside table. I unzipped the bag and pulled out long baggy sweatpants and an old black tee shirt I stole from Dean. Placing the bag back on the ground, I pulled my shirt off and kicked my jeans off, then pulling the baggy clothes on. Once that was done I went to sit down on the bed until I decided I should check in with Sam and Dean.
With a deep sigh, I walked out of my room and over to the door next to mine. I knocked and waited a few minutes before a groggy looking Sam opened the door.
"Cansas. Hey, how was your date." He asked rubbing his eyes. "It was fine. I'm sorry I woke you up. I just came to check in with you guys." I said rubbing my arm a bit. Sam smiled.
"No. It's fine." From within the motel room, Dean was heard saying something about shutting up and then something about pie. I smiled slightly.
"Well, I'll let you get back to sleep," I said slightly backing up. "Okay. Night." He said before he shut the door. I walked back into my room and flopping into the bed. I shut my eyes and fell asleep.
I shot up sweat dripping down my face as I breathed heavily. I gripped the bed sheet tight in my fists as I calmed myself down.
"It's okay....I'm okay...i-it was just a dream," But I knew it wasn't 'just a dream'. I looked over to the side to see my window was open letting in cold wind.
Grabbing my gun I got out of bed and walked slowly over to the window. The wind blew my pink hair slightly as I went to shut it, but then the moon caught my eyes. I placed my gun on the windowsill and got to my knees. I rest my elbow on the windowsill and then rest my head in my hand as I looked up at the moon.

They'll need to depend on each other more than ever if they hope for their new home to have any kind of future. In case you missed it, here's book one. ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.

Currently, my world is being overrun by monsters and soon other sapient species will fight for control over my world—unless they already control my world from the shadows.” Samantha said.
