"Okay, did that--? Holy crap" Dean says, as he sees they are back in their room.
"Yeah, tell me about it" Sam says.
"Next time I tell you to 'let's keep driving' let's make sure to keep driving" Calliope says to Dean.
"Okay, yeah, next time" Dean says.
"All right, so, what's our next move?" Sam asks.
"I don't know" Dean says, "We grab those poor saps out of the freezer. I guess. Bust them out, gank a few freaks along the way if we're lucky" Dean says to them.
"And when are you every lucky?" they hear Gabriel say and see him sitting on the couch.
"You know what? Bite me, Gabriel" Dean says to him.
"Maybe later, big boy. Or maybe my daughter will" he says looking at Calliope who rolls her eyes at him.
"I should've known. This had your stink all over it from the jump" Dean says to him.
"You think I'm behind this? Please. I'm the Costner to your Houston. I'm here to save your ass" Gabriel says as he stands up.
"You wanna pull us out of the fire?" Dean asks.
"Bingo" he says to Dean, "Those Gods are either gonna dust the two of you or use you as bait. Either way, you're uber-boned" he adds.
"Wow, because a couple months ago, you were telling us that we need to play our roles. You were uber-boning us." Dean says to him.
"Ohh, the end is still nigh. Michael and Lucifer are gonna dance the lambada. But not tonight, not here" Gabriel says as he walks around them.
"Why do you care so much?" Calliope then asks.
"I don't care. But me and Kali, we had a thing. Chick was all hands. What can I say, I'm sentimental" he says to them.
"Not enough to stick around for me" Calliope says under her breath.
"Do they have a chance against Satan?" Sam then asks.
"Really, Sam?" Dean says to his brother.
"You got a better idea, Dean?" Sam asks him.
"It's a bad idea" Gabriel tells Sam. "Lucifer's gonna turn them into finger paint. So let's get going while the going's good" Gabriel says to them.
"Okay, great, why don't you just zap us out of here, cause she can't" Dean says pointing to Calliope.
"Would if I could, but Kali's got you by the short and curlies. It's a blood spell, she did it to her too. The three of you are on a leash" he says to them.
"What does that even mean?" Calliope asks.
"Means it's time for a little of the old black magic" he says as he takes a breath spray out of his pocket and sprays it in his mouth.
"Yeah okay, but we're gonna take the hors d'oeuvres in the freezer with us" Dean says to him.
"Forget it, it's gonna be hard enough sneaking you mooks out of here" he says to them.
"They called you Loki, right? Which mean they don't really know who you are" Dean says.
"Told you, I'm in witness protection" Gabriel says.
"Okay, well then how about you do what we say..or we tell the Legion of Doom about your secret identity. They don't seem like a real pro-angel crowd" Dean says to him.
"I'll take your voices away" the archangel threatens.
"We'll write it down" Dean remarks.
"I'll cut off your hands" he tries to threaten.
"A lot of people are gonna be asking 'Why are you guys running around with no hands?' Plus you wouldn't hurt your own daughter would you" Dean says glaring at Gabriel.

Gabriel looks at Calliope, then back at Dean, "Fine" he says to them, as he then leaves the room.
Sam, Dean and Calliope leave the room after Gabriel, making their way to the kitchen, when they hear shouting. They can see a few of the Gods coming their way with a man who was struggling with them. They turn a corner and hide against the wall, hoping to not be seen. The watch as the toss the man across the front desk of the hotel and he continues to scream out for help. Dean moves to go, but Sam holds him back, "No, it's too late" he tells his brother as they have to watch the man get killed.
Getting to the kitchen the three of them go up to the freezer, as the people inside continue to yell and scream for help. As they wait for Sam to pick the lock, Dean and Calliope are both grabbed by one of the Gods and tossed across the room. Slowly getting up they see the God have Sam by the throat, as Calliope picks up a piece of broken wood nearby and she stabs the God in the back, and he falls down dead, "Where the hell is my father?" she questions, as more Gods appear, and drag the three of them out of there. They are brought back into the room from earlier where they see Gabriel sitting in a chair, with Kali standing nearby displeased.
"How long have you known?" Gabriel asks her.
"Long enough" Kali says to him, as Sam, Dean and Calliope are placed in the chairs near him.
"How's the rescue going?" Dean asks him.
"Well, surprise, surprise the Trickster has tricked us" Kali says to the group in the room.
"Kali, don't" Gabriel says to her.
"You're mine now" she says as she then goes and sits on his lap, "And you have something I want" she then reaches into his jacket, and takes out his angel blade. "An archangel's blade. From the archangel Gabriel" she says loudly as she then gets off his lap.
"Okay, okay. So I got wings, like Kotex. But that doesn't make me any less right about Lucifer" Gabriel says to them.
"He's lying. He's a spy" Kali says.
"I'm not a spy. I'm a runaway. I'm trying to save you. I know my brother, Kali. He should scare the living crap out of you. You can't beat him. I've skipped ahead, seen how this story ends" he says to her.
"Your story, not ours. Westerners. I swear, the sheer arrogance. You think you're the only ones on Earth. You pillage and you butcher in your God's name. But you're not the only religion and he's not the only God. And now you think you can just rip the planet apart? You're wrong. There are billions of us...and we were here first. If anyone gets to end this world..." Kali steps closer to Gabriel placing a hand on his cheek, "It's me. I'm sorry" she then says as she stabs Gabriel in the chest, and they watch as he is killed.
"This is crazy" one of the men say.
"They can die" Kali says, "We can kill Lucifer" she says.
Just then Dean stands up, "All right, you primitive screwheads, listen up" he says.
"Are you out of your mind?" Sam says looking up at Dean.
"I'm out of options" he tells Sam, "Now, on any other given day, I'd be doing my damnedest to kill you, you filthy, murdering chimps. But, hey, desperate times" he says as he walks over to Gabriel's body. "So even though I'd love nothing better than to slit your throats, you dicks...I'm gonna help you. I'm gonna help you ice the devil" he says as he pours himself a drink. "And then we can all get back to ganking each other like normal. You want Lucifer, well, dudes not in the Yellow Pages. But me and Sam, and Calliope we can get him here" Dean tells them.

"How?" Kali asks.
"First you let those main courses go, then we talk" Dean says and she looks at him, "Oh, we can either take on the devil together...or you lame-ass bitches can eat me" Dean says as he then realizes what he said, "Literally" he says.
They agree to Dean's terms and Dean and Calliope help get the people out of the hotel, "Come on, everybody. Let's go, let's go, let's go" Dean is saying as they hustle out of the building.
"Go! Go! Get out of here!" Calliope shouts as they watch all of them get in their cars a drive away.
"That should be all of them" Calliope says to Dean.
"Psst!" they then hear a voice saying, "Dean! Callie!" they hear and see Gabriel in the back of the Impala. "Don't look at me!" he then says to them and they try to look away. "Act natural, get in" he says. They look at one another then try to casually walk up to the Impala and get in.
"There is nothing natural about this. We thought you were dead." Dean says to him.
"You think I'd give Kali my real sword? That thing can kill me" he says to them.
"Then what the hell do they have in there?" Calliope asks him.
"A fake. Made it out of a can of Diet Orange Slice. So, go snag our blood, would you?" he then asks them.
"What? I heard you in there, Kali likes you. You can get close. Lift the plasma, then we vamoose" Gabriel says to him.
"No, hand over the real blade. Better yet, why don't you sack up and help us take down Lucifer" Dean says to him.
"You can't be serious" Gabriel says as he sits up.
"He's being dead serious" Calliope says to him.
"Since when are you two butt buddies with a bunch of monsters? That's all they are to you two, aren't they?" Gabriel says to them.
"Sam was right, it's nuts, but it's the best idea I've heard" Dean says to him, "So unless you have a better one..." he adds.
"Well, good luck with that, Me, I'm blowing Jonestown. Those Lemmings wanna run off a cliff, that's their business" he says to them.
"You know I can see right through you. This who smart-ass shell, with the 'I could give a crap' thing. I have been around someone like that for awhile so I can spot one when I see them" Calliope says to him. "And you know what, those Gods in that may not be your blood, but they are your family, like I supposedly am." Calliope says to him.
"They just stabbed me in the frigging heart" he says to her.
"Yes they did, but you know you still give a crap about them" she says to him.
"Calliope" he starts to say.
"No, you listen to me, they will die in there without you" she says to him.
"I can't kill my brother" he says to her.
"Can't or won't?" Dean then asks, and he doesn't say a word, "That's what we thought" Dean says as him and Calliope get out of the car.
The go back into the room where they had left Sam, "Show's over, sword's a fake" Dean says looking at Sam before looking at Kali and Baldur. "And Gabriel? He's still kicking. I hate to break it to you, sister, but you've been tricked" Dean tells her. Just then the lights begin to flicker in the room, and they all look at one another.
"What is happening?" Baldur asks Kali, as they hear screams of pain coming from outside the doors.
"It's him" Sam says as they know it is Lucifer who's arrived.
"How?" Kali asks.
"Does it matter? Shazam us out of here, would you?" Dean asks her.
"We can't" Baldur says as the doors open and they see Lucifer walking in.
"Of course you can't. You didn't say, "Mother May I'. Sam, Dean, good to see you again, and you brought the niece along, how wonderful" he smiles at them.
"Baldur don't" Kali says as he makes the doors shut.
"You think you own the planet? What gives you the right?" Baldur says as he advances on Lucifer.
Lucifer puts his hand through Baldur's chest, "No one gives us the right. We take it" he says as he pulls his hand back out.
Kali then stares the Devil down, as she creates flames on her hands, she then shoots fire at Lucifer, as Sam, Dean and Calliope all jump behind a table.
"You okay?" Sam asks the other two.
"Not really" they then hear Gabriel saying, "Better late then never, huh?" he then hands Dean a DVD, and Calliope a small box, "Guard theses with your lives" he tells them as he then gets up and goes after his brother.
"Lucy, I'm home" Gabriel says as he stands in front of Lucifer with his angel blade in his hand. "Not this time" Gabriel says as Lucifer starts to advance, and Gabriel helps Kali get up.
"Guys, sweet-pea, get her out of here" he then says to the other three, and they stand up and go over to them. Dean takes Kali, as him, Sam and Calliope take her, and start to leave, "Over a girl, Gabriel, really? I mean, I knew you were slumming....but I hope you didn't catch anything. I mean first the niece and now this" he says as they get the heck out of there with Kali.
They leave the hotel, "I'm not getting in that thing" Kali says to them as she looks at their car.
"Just get in the car, princess" Dean says to her and the four of them get in the car, and they drive away.
The next day the three of them, once Kali was gone, pulled over to the side of the road, where Sam got out his laptop and Dean put the DVD in that Gabriel had given him. They hit play and they realize it's a porno, "Gabriel wanted you to guard this with your life?" Sam says.
"Maybe he's a fan. It is a good one" Dean says to him. As they continue watching, Calliope getting a little weirded out by it, so she turns away.
"What the hell is going on?" Dean then says.
"Sam, Dean, Calliope, you're probably wondering what the hells going on? Well, if you're watching this, I'm dead. Oh, please stop sobbing. It's embarrassing for all of us. I'm sorry kiddo we didn't get much time to know one another more. Without me, you got zero shot at killing Lucifer. Sorry, but you can trap him. The cage you sprung Lucifer from, it's still down there. And maybe, just maybe you can shove his ass back in. Not that it'll be easy, you gotta get the cage open, trick my bro back into it....and oh, yeah, avoid Michael and the God squad. But hey, details, right? And here's the big secret Lucifer himself doesn't even know. But the key to the cage, it's out there. Actually, it's 'key's' plural. Four keys, well, four rings from the horsemen. You get them all, you got the cage. Can't say I'm betting on you boys, but, hey, I've been wrong before. You boys better protect my daughter in all this, and Calliope sweet-pea that box I have probably given you contains something really special that can help with the fight against you Uncle, open it when the moment is right. And Dean, you were right, I was afraid to stand up to my brother. But not anymore. So, this is me standing up....and this is my lying down" he says this to them and Sam shuts the computer after a minute.
"Horsemen, huh?" Dean says and Sam and Calliope nod at him. "Well, we got War's. We nicked Famine's. That's two rings down, collect all four? All we need is Pestilence and Death" Dean says to them.
"Oh, is that all?" Sam asks.
"It's a plan" Dean says to him, "Calliope what is in the box anyway?" Dean then asks her.
Calliope takes the box out of the back seat and opens it up, inside is a vial with a glowing blue substance inside it, and they all look at it puzzled.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

Sadly, most of the world seems dedicated to tearing itself apart as the year-end deadline gets closer. The west is in barely contained Chaos, while the east descends into internal conflict and war. The Pillar Forts, one of the few successful projects of the United Nations headed by the United States, stand ready to defend humanity against any invasion that may come through the strange Connection Pillars that appeared on each continent. Massive steel and stone walls that surround the Connection Pillars. They are filled with deadly men and women trained in all manner of warfare, each trained in the newly acquired System with skills and magical abilities that they put to deadly purpose. Beside these brave warriors, tanks, helicopters, artillery and more stand ready to defend humanity at each of these powerful installations. But, can they overcome the disparity in levels and experience between themselves and the forces that threaten them and the rest of humanity? Main Characters Jessica Brown- A young African American girl. Her 18th birthday in Detroit was the same day the systems message appeared. She discovered she was Level 7, much higher than most of the rest of the world. Why she is blessed, or cursed, with the power she doesn’t know. But what she does know is that she rather likes the feeling that comes with manipulating magic. The week after her birthday, government workers started testing every person in the US in a massive census effort of skills and abilities. Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. While everyone else sees beauty or danger when they look at the pillars, after connection is made all Jessica can see is a Tree. A tree the size of the entire universe. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? DEDICATION: This story is dedicated to my father who passed away recently. Jim Holloway, you’ll be missed you old silverback gorilla. Love you dad. Always have, always will.
