(Season 5 x 5)
Calliope had stayed with Bobby for the next month, hoping to find anything about the four horsemen, hoping to find a way to at least stop them when they show up. Both Sam and Dean called her every few days making sure she was okay, or at least found anything out. She had learned from Sam that he had started working at bar, keeping a low profile. Bobby was still having a hard time being stuck in a wheelchair, but Calliope didn't blame him. "You need to get out there" Bobby says to her one morning, and she looks at him confused.
"What?" she asks.
"You have gotten your face buried deep in books, you need to go do a job" he says to her.
"Do I? Or are you just trying to get rid of me so you can wallow, and get drunk?" she says to him.
"No" he says to her.
"Yeah you do, but you are right Bobby, I need to get away. Gotta any jobs you've heard about?" she then asks.
"Oh, I think you might be getting a call soon about one" he then says wheeling away from her. Just then Calliope's phone starts to ring, and she picks it up, looking to see it was Dean.
"Hey Dean" she says to him.
"Hey, you up to a job?" he asks her.
"Did Bobby put you up to this?" she asks him.
"No" he automatically says to her.
"He did, I know he did, he wants me out of the house. What do you got?" she then says to him.
"Someone's head went through a parked car window. Did you want to join Sam and me?" he says to her, taking her back for a moment.
"Sam? What happened?" she then asks him.
"It's a long story, you want to join or not" he says
"I guess, are you guys nearby?" she then asks him.
"No" he responds, "but you can either come your usual way or meet us there" he says to her.
"I think I will go the old-fashioned way, have Sam send me an email with the articles about the case, and give be the coordinates of where I am to meet you guys" she tells him.
"Will do, see you there Callie" Dean tells her.
"See you" she then says to him as she hangs up the phone looking over at Bobby.
"So, ditching the angry drunk then" he says as she gets up, closing the book in front of her. Calliope then heads upstairs gathering her things, tossing it all in her duffle bag. Her cell then vibrated, and she took it out of her pocket seeing that Dean had sent her his coordinates. Finishing with her stuff, she heads back down the stairs, "I'm heading out, but I will be calling you to check in, make sure you haven't drunk every last botte in this house" she says to Bobby.
"Just be safe" he says to her.
"I always am" she smiles at him, as she then heads out of the house. Going out into the junkyard, Calliope pulls the sheet off her car, that had been sitting there for quite some time, but Bobby still kept it in shape.
"Hey Girl, ready for a road trip" she says to the car, as she unlocks it, tossing her bag in the back seat as she sits in the driver seat. Closing the door behind her, she puts the key in the ignition and listens for the normal purr of the engine, and she shifts the gear into drive and heads off.

Calliope pulled into the town of Canton, Ohio and headed for the police station, seeing the familiar black Impala parked out front. She had changed into her usual suit, before coming into town, and started digging through her glove box for one of her many fake ID badges, finally coming upon an FBI one assuming that was what the boys would be using too. Stepping out of her car, she walks toward the Impala and smiles at the boys as they step out of their car.
"Callie, good to see you again" Sam says to her.
"You too" she says hugging the boy.
"Dean" she says to Dean once she pulls away from Sam.
"Calliope, thanks for joining in on this" he says to her.
"Well Bobby wanted me out of the house, and it seems when I am away from you both you guys get into more trouble then you can handle." She says to him.
"Guess we need a little sister to keep us in check" Dean then says to her which hurts deep down.
"Well, should we get this case going" she then says as she turns around and heads for the station. The three of them walk up to the sheriff, "Agents Burgess, Bonham and Copeland" Calliope says as the three of them show their FBI badges.
"Rick Carnegie, good to know you" he says shaking their hands, "So you're here on account of Cal Hopkin's death" he says to them.
"That's right" Sam says to him.
"Well afraid you came a long way for nothing, we already booked the guy that did it" he says to them and the three of them shared a surprised look.
"I'm sorry, who do you think did it?" Sam asks.
"I'll show you" he then says leading them to a room. They all enter sitting down at the conference table inside, as the officer puts a tape in the TV, and presses play showing them a video.
"Cal? Is something wrong?" they hear a man's voice say, as they see the camera pan around the car that it was pointed at to see a man's face buried in the glass window shield, "Oh God, Cal! Cal" the man's voice says as the camera is dropped and the video footage ends. The officer shuts the tv off and turns toward the three of them.
"Sicko taped his own handiwork" he says to them.
"I don't follow" Sam says.
"It was Jim Grossman that killed Cal" he tries to explain.
"Wait, what?" Dean asks.
"Well, he was the only one on the scene for miles" Rick says to him.
"They're best friends though" Calliope tells him.
"Most violent crimes are committed by someone close to the victim" Rick tells her.
"And how, exactly, did Jim slam Cal into a windshield with all the force of an 80-mile-per-hour crash?" Dean asks the officer.
"Drugs, maybe" he responds, and Calliope shares a look with Sam. "Look, you know this ain't brain surgery. Whatever it looks like, that's what it usually is, it's simple" Rick says to them.
"Simple, right" Dean shakes his head at him before looking back at Sam and Calliope.
"Okay then, we would like to go talk to Mr. Grossman, if you don't mind" Calliope says to him.
The three of them go into a interrogation room, where Jim Grossman is brought in, and they ask him to explain what had happened. "I was in the house when it happened, didn't even see it" he tells them.
"For argument's sake, say we believe you" Dean says.

"Why would you? The cops didn't" he says to him.
"We're not your typical cops" Dean tells him.
"Please, just tell us what you saw" Sam then asks him.
"It's not what I saw, it's what I heard" Jim replies, "tires squealing, glass breaking" he says to them taking a moment, "It was the car that did it" he adds peaking their interest.
"The car?" Sam asks.
"I mean I heard about the curse, I just thought it was a load of crap" Jim tells them.
"What do you mean by curse Mr. Grossman?" Calliope asks him.
"The car" he says looking at her, "Little Bastard" he tells her, and she looks right at Dean.
"Lit-Little Bastard, as in the Little Bastard" Dean asks him, a little excitement in his voice.
Sam look confused, "What's Little Bastard?" he then asks.
"James Dean's Car" Calliope tells him.
"The one he was killed in" Dean adds.
"Yeah, that's the one" Jim says, "Cal had been looking for it for years. I mean, hell, we both had, but he found it first" he tells them.
Dean bends down to talk to Sam and Calliope who were seated in the chairs across form Jim, "We are definitely checking this out" he says to two of them.
Dean, Calliope and Sam then head for the garage that the car was kept in, Dean walks in excitement to see James Dean's historic car. "So what? This is like Christine?" Sam asks referring to the horror novel written by Stephen King.
"No Christine is fiction, this—this is real" Dean says to him as the three of them walk around the car.
"Okay, enlighten me" Sam says to Dean.
"You want the honors, or can I?" Calliope then asks Dean.
"You can" Dean tells her.
"All right then, supposedly after James Dean died, his mechanic bought the wrecked car, and he fixed it up" Calliope tells him.
"And it repaid him by falling on him" Dean goes on to explain. "Then Tony McHenry was killed when it locked up on the racetrack. I mean, death follows this car around like exhaust" he says to Sam.
"Anyone who had ever touched it never comes away in one piece" Calliope adds.
"In 1970, it vanished off the back of a truck, nobody's ever seen it since" Dean says to Sam, "I'm telling you, man, if this car is Little Bastard I will bet you dollars to doughnuts it's what killed the guy" he adds.
"So, how do we find out?" Sam then asks.
"Well Cal was able to match the VIN number but the only real way to tell is the-""Engine number" Dean finishes saying for Calliope.
"I'm guessing the engine number-"Sam says.
"On the engine, yeah" Dean replies.
The three of them stare at the car, after getting it up on the jack, "You want me to do it?" Sam offers to Dean.
"No" he responds, "No, no, I've got it" he says as he slowly approaches the car. "Okay, baby, I'm not gonna hurt you...so don't hurt me" Dean says as he lays down, to wheel himself under the car. Sliding under the car he gets to the engine, and the car starts to creak and panic rises in Dean.
"Need a flashlight" Sam says going down beside the car.
"No. Don't do anything, just go away" Dean tells him, and they can hear the panic in his voice.
"Okay" Sam tells him.
"Don't speak, okay, either one of you. All right, don't even look at her, she might not like it" he tells her and Sam stands back up going over beside Calliope.
"It's a car thing" she whispers to Sam, as they wait. After a few seconds Dean very quickly comes out from under the car, and stands up. He clears his throat as he hands Sam the paper with the engine number on it.
"Find out who owned it. Not just the last owner, you gotta take it all the way back to 1955" Dean tells him trying to catch his breath.
"That's a lot of research" Sam says to him.
"Well, I guess I just made your afternoon" Dean tells him as he walks away.
"I'll help you Sam" Calliope tells him, as they follow Dean out. The three of them leave the garage, and head toward the cars.
"You and Sam can head for a motel, fill me in on anything you find" Dean then says to the two of them.
"What are you going to do?" Calliope then asks him.
"Talk to the locals, get more info on Cal and Jim, and anything else that might be going on" he tells her, as Sam takes his bag out of the Impala.
"Sure, you are" she says rolling her eyes at him, as her and Sam head for her car.
After securing a motel room, Sam and Calliope head inside, "You mind if I shower first, I need to get out of this monkey suit" Calliope says to Sam, as she tossed her bag on the bed closest to the bathroom.
"Go ahead" Sam tells her as he places his down on the other bed. Going through her bag Calliope finds a change of clothes, and heads to the bathroom locking the door behind her. After a nice hot shower Calliope steps out gets dressed and heads out of the bathroom, drying her hair with a towel, she see's that Sam is already changed, and has papers spread out on the table in the room.
"Want to bet Dean's not actually looking at police records, that he's at some bar flirting with the first chick he sees." she says as she then tosses the towel on the bed, and goes to join Sam.
"Doesn't he always" Sam remarks as Calliope takes some news articles from him, and starts to help Sam look into all the owners of the car. After a few hours they finally were able to trace the previous owners of the car, none of them having any terrible deaths.
"Well let's call Dean, tell him what we got" Calliope says as Sam takes his cell phone out and dials Dean's number putting the call on speaker.
"Yo" they hear Dean answer.
"So, it took us a while, but we were able to trace the car's previous owners" Calliope tells him.
"Any of them die bloody?" Dean then asks.
"Nope. In fact-" Sam starts to say as Calliope and him can hear pool balls in the background noise, "Dean, are you in a bar?" he then asks his brother.
"No, no I'm in a restaurant" he tells them, "here's your beer" they then hear a girl's voice say, "Thanks" they hear Dean saying and they both shake their head at one another, "That happens to have a bar" Dean says to them.
"We've been working our ass off here" Sam says to Dean.
"Hey world's smallest violin, pal. I spent the afternoon up Christine's skirt, I needed a drink" he says to them.
"You really didn't" Calliope then tells him,
"What?" he asks.
"The car's first owner was a cardiologist in Philadelphia, drove it till he died in 1972" Sam explains reading the article.
"So you're saying-"Dean says.
"The Porsche is not the real Little Bastard, it's never been James Dean's car, it's a fake" Calliope explains to Dean.
"Then what was it that killed the guy?" Dean asks her.
"Good question" Sam says to him.
"I'll look into any other mysterious deaths and see what I can come up with" Calliope tells him.
"You do that" Dean remarks and she just rolls her eyes at him, as she hangs up the call.
"So, more research?" Sam asks her.
"More research" she replies as they both go back to their laptops.
The next day the three of them hear the call over the police scanner about another weird murder, changing into their suits once again they head off for the scene. Entering the home that was taped off, heading to the room that the officer from the day before was in.
"Heard you got a weird one" Dean says to the officer.
"Well, it's a little strange on the surface, I admit. But once, you know, once you look at the facts" he tries to say to them.
"William Hill died from a gunshot wound to the head. No gun, no gunpowder, no bullet" Sam says to him.
"There's absolutely nothing strange about that" Calliope remarks.
"There's gotta be a reasonable explanation, there always is" he says to her.
"Well, what's your reasonable explanation?" Dean asks.
He looks around for a second then leans closer to them, "Professional killer" he says rather quietly.
"Come, again?" Sam asks.
"Well, CIA, NSA, one of them trained assassins, like in Michael Clayton" he says to them.
"Right" Dean says as he looks over at Calliope and Sam.
"You're welcome to look around, but these guys don't leave fingerprints" the officer then says.
"Do you mind if we have a few words with the witness?" Calliope then asks.
"Be my guest. She's not making any sense, and she's not making any sense in Spanish either" he then says.
"Right" Dean says once again, as the three of them step back outside, seeing a woman seated on a bench talking to another officer.
"Consuela Alvarez?" Dean asks.
"Yes" the woman says to him.
"FBI" Dean says as they all show the officer their badges, "Now you said you saw something in the professor's house, right? Something in the window?" Dean asks her. The woman looks at them, suddenly speaking in Spanish and crying, clearly shaken up by what she had seen. Dean looks over at Calliope and Sam confused by what the woman was saying.
Sam looks at Calliope, and she isn't quite sure what the woman is saying either. Sam takes a step toward her, "Senora Alvarez" he says as he starts to speak to her in Spanish as he sits down beside the woman. He tries to figure out what he is going to say, looking up at Calliope and Dean, finally saying the word that comes to mind.
"Nice" Dean says to him.
"Freshman Spanish" Sam explains. The woman then starts speaking to Sam, telling him what she had seen. He takes the words in for a minute, then turns to the others to translate what she had said, "Okay a tall man, very tall, with a long black coat and a—" he looks at the woman, "A beard?" and she nods, "beard" he tells them.
"Eh Sombrero" the woman then says to Sam.
"Dude was wearing a sombrero?" Dean asks.
"A hat Dean, not a sombrero" Calliope tells him.
"No, no a sombrero alto" the woman says to them.
"A tall hat?" Sam says looking at her.
"Like a top hat?" Calliope asks.
"Sombrero Alto, muy alto" she says in Spanish.
"Oh, you mean like a stovepipe hat?" Dean asks her.
"Si" she replies.
"Oh. Yeah like Abraham Lincoln" Dean says to Sam and Calliope.
"Si, El President Lincoln" the woman then says to them, and they all look at her confused, "Abraham Lincoln killed Mr. Hill" she then cries, and Sam looks at Calliope and Dean. "So, I go home now?" she then asks.
"Si gracias" Sam tells her.
"Gracias" Dean and Calliope both add, as the three of them just look at one another surprised by the information.
Once back at the motel, the three of them all change out of their suits, and start to do some research. The three of them all sit at the table, as Sam and Calliope look into anything that might make this case make sense, as Dean goes over the video that Jim had taken of Cal.
"Whoa" Dean suddenly says and the other two look up at him.
"What is it?" Calliope asks him.
He takes a moment, as he turns his laptop around to show her and Sam, "It's a freeze-frame from Jim Grossman's video. Am I crazy or does that look like James Dean?" he asks them.
"That looks like James Dean" Sam says to his brother.
"So what we got Lincoln and James Dean, famous ghosts killing people?" Calliope asks them.
Sam thinks for a moment, "maybe" he says to her.
"Well, that's just silly" Dean adds as he puts his computer back down.
"No, actually there's a ton of lore on famous ghosts" Sam says to him. "More than the, you know non-famous kinds. I'm actually surprised we haven't run into one" he says as he turns his attention back to his computer.
"What now we have two of them, that are extremely pissed off?" Calliope says to Sam.
"Who are apparently ganking their fans" Sam tells her.
"What do you mean?" Dean asks him.
"Professor Hill was a Civil War nut, he dug Lincoln" Sam tells him.
"And Cal must've been a James Dean freak" Dean then says. "He spent 17 years of his life tracking down the guy's car. So, you're saying that we've got two super-famous super-pissed-off ghosts killing their super-fans?" Dean asks Sam.
