(Season 4 x 21)
Calliope stood outside the panic room, looking at Dean, with Sam still locked inside, as he opens the panel on the door. Sam looks at the two of them, "Okay, let me out, this is not funny" he says to the two of them.
"Damn straight" he says to him.
"Dean, Callie come on this is crazy" he says to them.
"No, not until you dry out" Dean tells him.
"Look, I'm sorry I shouldn't have lied to you two. Just open the door" he says.
"Don't apologize, it's not your fault" Dean says to him, "It's not your fault that you lied to me over and over again. I get it, you couldn't help it" he adds.
"I'm not some junkie" Sam says anger in his voice.
"Really? I guess I've just imagined how strung out you've been lately" Dean says to him.
"You're actually trying to twist this into some kind of ridiculous drug intervention" Sam says anger rising.
"If it smells like a duck" Dean says.
"Dean, Callie I'm not drinking the demon blood for kicks. I'm getting strong enough to kill Lilith" he shouts at them.
"Really Sam, you're getting strong enough" Calliope then says to him.
"Yeah" he says to her.
"This is about as far away from strong as you can get, try weak, try desperate, pathetic" Dean says anger in his voice.
"Killing Lilith...is what matters, or are you so bust being self-righteous you forgot about her" Sam says to them.
"Oh, Lilith is gonna die, Bobby, Calliope and I will kill her, but not with you" Dean says to him.
"You're not serious" Sam says back at them.
"Congrats, Sammy, you just bought yourself a benchwarmer seat to the apocalypse" Dean says to him, as he closes the panel, and the two of them turn around and start to walk up the stairs. They hear Sam shouting at them to come back and to let him out, but they don't say a word as Dean stops for a second on the top step.
"You're doing the right thing" Calliope tells him as she places a hand on his arm.
"I hope so" he says before they continue leaving the basement.
Standing in Bobby's den, the three of them can hear Sam's shouts from downstairs, as Bobby pours himself and Dean a glass of whiskey.
"Me too" Calliope tells him, and he gets another glass pouring her one too.
"How long is this gonna go on?" Dean asks Bobby.
"Here let me look it up in my demon-detox manual. Oh, wait no one ever wrote one" Bobby says to him. "No telling how long it'll take. Hell, or if Sam will even live through it" Bobby adds. Dean looks at him, then at Calliope, before Bobby's phone rings, and Dean steps away. "Hello......suck dirt and die, Rufus. You call me again, I'll kill you" they hear Bobby say and Calliope and Dean share a look.
"What's the matter with Rufus?" Calliope asks him.
"He knows" he tells her as she takes a sip of her whiskey and the phone rings once again.
"I'm busy, you son of a bitch. This better be important" Bobby says as he then stays silent after a few minutes he hangs up the phone.
"Bobby, what is it?" Calliope asks him.
"Give me a minute" he says as he goes to his computer and starts looking something up. Dean and Calliope just stand there watching him, drinking the rest of their whiskey.
"The news. The news ain't good" Bobby says as he hands Calliope and Dean the articles he printed off.

"This is what Rufus called about, 'Key West sees 10 species go extinct" Dean reads from the one article.
"Yep, plus Alaska, fifteen-man fishing crew all stricken blind, cause unknown. New York, teacher goes postal locks the door, kills exactly 66 kids, all this in a single day" Bobby tells them, as they see the articles that he was just talking about. "I looked them up, they're all seals, breaking fast" he adds.
"Any idea how many are even left?" Calliope asks looking at him.
"Who knows? Can't be many, where the hell are your angel pals?" Bobby says to them.
Dean glances over at Calliope for a second before looking back at Bobby, tossing the articles on his desk, "You tell me" he says as he walks away.
"I'm just wondering?" Bobby says as he walks around toward Calliope and Dean.
"What?" Dean asks him.
"The apocalypse being nigh and all, is now really the right time to be having this little domestic drama of ours?" Bobby says to them.
"What do you mean?" Dean asks him.
"Well, I don't like this any more than the two of you do, but Sam can kill demons. He's got a shot at stopping Armageddon "Bobby says.
"So what?" Dean then says, "Sacrifice Sam's life...his soul, for the greater good. Is that what you're saying? Times are bad, so let's use Sam as a nuclear warhead? "Dean says to him.
"Look, I know you hate me for suggesting it, I hate me for suggesting it. I love that boy like a son. All I'm saying is maybe he's here right now, instead of on the battlefield because we love him too much" Bobby says to them. Calliope looks over at Dean, who just sighs as he then walks away from them.
"You think I'm right don't you" Bobby says looking at her.
"Part of me does, and the other is he needs help. Maybe I can stop Lilith, I mean I have these so-called angel powers, who knows what I am capable of" Calliope says to him.
"Yeah, but can we trust what you can do too" he says to her, she just looks at him before walking away to look for Dean.
Calliope looks around the house, and does not find him, as she grabs her jacket and heads out to the junkyard, where she can hear Dean shouting. Walking closer she hears him shouting out Castiel, "Dean what are you doing?" she asks him.
"What does it sound like I'm doing Calliope, getting that stupid angel here to help" he says to her.
"Dean, I doubt even Cass can help us with what's going on with Sam" she says to him.
"Did you know?" he then asks looking at her.
"Dean, I had no idea" she says to him.
"Anna could sense it when she looked at him, and she said that you should have been able to as well. So, help me Calliope if you know what was going on with Sam and didn't tell me" he says anger in his voice.
She sighs and looks down at the ground before looking back up, "Dean I could tell that there was something with Sam, but I wasn't sure what it was. I mean I knew about him and Ruby, but that wasn't my secret to tell. I knew Sam had these powers too, but I swear to you, Dean I had no idea about the demon blood" Calliope tells him.
"I'm sorry Calliope, it's just with Sam and this whole Lilith and the seals thing, I am at my wits end on what to do" he says to her. Calliope then walks up to Dean, and pulls him into a hug, he places his hands around her and hugs her back.

"We'll get through this Dean, we will do whatever it takes to save Sam" Calliope tells him, as she looks up at him. Dean looks back at Calliope, and he puts his hand on her face, grazing it, as he leans down, she quickly pulls away.
"We should keep trying to call out for Cass" she says as she brushes her hair behind her ear, and looks away from him.
"Yeah...yeah Castiel!....Castiel!" Dean starts shouting.
"Castiel! Castiel!" Calliope joins in with him shouting for the angel. It was coming close to over two hours of the two of them shouting for the angel, and he had yet to make an appearance.
"I don't think he's coming Dean" Calliope says her throat sore from telling.
Dean looks at her, then around once more when they hear the rustling of wings, they both turn around to see Castiel finally standing there. "Well, it's about time, we've been screaming ourselves hoarse for two and a half hours now" he tells him, his voice also sore.
"What do you want" Castiel says as he walks toward them.
"Well, for starts you can tell us what the hell happened in Illinois" Calliope then asks him.
"What do you mean?" he asks her.
"Oh, cut the crap, you were gonna tell me something" Dean says to him.
"Well, nothing of import" Castiel says t to him.
"You got ass reamed to heaven and it was nothing of import?" Dean asks him.
"Dean, I can't" he says as he looks around, "I'm sorry" he adds as he steps away from them. "Get to the reason you really called me. It's about Sam, right?" he asks them.
"Can he do it?" Dean then asks. "Kill Lilith, stop the apocalypse" he adds.
"Possible, yes" Castiel says turning back around to face them, "But as the two of you know, he'd have to take certain steps" he adds.
"Crank up the hell-blood regimen" Dean says.
"Consuming the amount of blood, it would take to kill Lilith would change your brother forever. Most likely he would become the next creature that you would feel compelled to kill" he tells them this and Calliope and Dean share a look of concern, "There's no reason this would have to come to pass, Dean, Calliope. We believe it's you Dean, not your brother. The only question for us is whether you're willing to accept it. Stand up and accept your role. You are the one who will stop it" Castiel tells him.
"If I do this...Sammy doesn't have to?" Dean asks.
"If it gives you comfort to see it that way" Castiel says to him.
Dean shakes his head, "God, you're a dick these days" he says as he steps away from Castiel. "Fine I'm in" he then says.
"Dean, you don't have to do this" Calliope then says to him.
"I have too, for Sammy" he tells her.
"You give yourself over wholly to the service of God and his angels?" Castiel then asks him.
"Yeah, exactly" Dean tells him.
"Say it" Castiel then tells him, and Dean turns back to face the angel.
"I give myself over wholly, to serve God and you guys" he says to him.
"You swear to follow his will and his word, as swiftly and obediently as you did your own father's?" Castiel then asks him.
"Yes, I swear" Dean tells him, "Now what?" he then asks.
"Now, you wait, and we call on you when it's time" he tells him, as they stand there looking at one another.
Castiel eventually disappears, and Calliope looks at Dean, crossing her arms in frustration, "That was a dumb move Dean" she says to him.
"It's the only move I got" he says to her.
"Me, you've got me" she says back at him.
"Yeah, well I don't want you getting killed either" he then says to her.
"I am a big girl Dean, I can do this" she says stepping closer to him.
"I can't lose you too" he then says to her, as he places his hand on her face, and brings her closer to him, his lips crashing on hers. Calliope caves into the kiss and can tell that part of them both want more, but this wasn't the right time for this.
Calliope pulls away, and leans her forehead against Deans, "Dean...we...we can't not right now" she says to him.
"I know...I know" he says.
"We should go back, you need to get some rest, and we need to tell Bobby about your stupid move" she says to him.
"Yeah, me and making stupid moves" he smiles at her.
"Not all moves are stupid, just this one" she smiles back as she takes his hand and leads him back toward Bobby's house.
After Dean, Calliope and Bobby get some rest, they start the next day listening to Sam's screams for help, as Dean tells Bobby about his agreement with Castiel. "Correct me if I'm wrong you willingly signed up to be the angel's bitch?" Bobby asks Dean, and Dean gives him a look, "I'm sorry you prefer 'sucker'" he adds. "After everything you said about them, now you trust them?" he says to Dean.
"Come on, give me a little credit, Bobby. I've never trusted them less. I mean they come on, like shady politicians from planet Vulcan" Dean says to him.
"Then why in the hell--?" "Because what other option do I have? It's either trust the angels or let Sammy trust a demon" Dean tells Bobby before he can finish asking.
"You got Calliope, or is it cause she's part angel you don't trust her too" Bobby then says to him.
"No, I trust Calliope, and this is why I have to do this because I don't want to lose her to this too" Dean then says to him.
"I see your point" Bobby says to him. That's when Calliope realizes that the whole time Bobby and Dean had been arguing, Sam stopped screaming.
"Guys, you hear anything?" she then asks the men.
"Yeah, that's a little too much of nothing" Bobby says and the three of them run toward the basement. The run to the panic room, and Dean opens the peephole, looking in the three of them see Sam, groaning and withering on the floor.
"What if he's faking?" Dean asks looking at Bobby and Calliope.
"You really think he would" Bobby asks him,
"I think he'd do anything" Dean then says, as they see Sam go flying across the room.
"I don't think that is faking" Calliope says as Bobby and Dean rush to get the room door open, once they do, they run in and grab a hold of Sam, and pin him down on the floor. Bobby takes his belt off and places it in Sam's mouth, while Calliope watches from the doorway.
"We're gonna have to tie him down for his own safety" Bobby tells Dean, who just watches his brother, "Dean! Are you with me!" Bobby says and Dean still doesn't reply, "Dean! Before he has another fit" Bobby shouts.
"Yeah, yeah, let's just get it over with" Dean replies finally getting focused. Calliope watches as the men chain Sam to the bed, and once they are done, they walk away from Sam, closing the door behind them. Calliope looks at Dean, and automatically wraps her arms around him, letting him know it's okay.
The three of them head back upstairs where Dean and Calliope sit down on the couch, "I'm gonna ask this one last time, are we absolutely sure we're doing the right thing?" Bobby asks the two of them.
"Bobby you saw what was happening to him down there. The demon blood is killing him" Dean says standing back up.
"No it isn't, we are" Bobby then says to them.
"What?" Calliope says as she stands up and walks beside Dean.
"I'm sorry I can't bite my tongue any longer, we're killing him. Keeping him locked up down there, this cold-turkey thing isn't working. If-If he doesn't get what he needs soon...Sam's not gonna last much longer" Bobby tells the two of them.
Calliope looks at Dean, who just shakes his head, "No...I'm not giving him demon blood, I won't do it" Dean then says.
"And if he dies?" Bobby asks.
"Then at least he dies human" Dean tells him. "I would die for him in a second, but I won't let him do this to himself. I can't" Dean tells the two of them. "I guess I found my line, I won't let my brother turn into a monster" he tells them. Calliope just looks at him, knowing how hard this was going to be for him to do to Sam.

Witness the dawn of an era. 🧙🧙🧙 This is a story I'd written a few years back, and I figured it's a waste to just let it sit around. Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.
