(Season 4 x 16)
Sam, Calliope and Dean are in the Impala, they had just left Pamela's funeral and were heading back to the motel.
"Ruby will meet us outside Cheyenne. She's been tracking some leads, I know she's not exactly on your Christmas list, but if she can help us get to Lilith" Sam says to Dean.
"Hey man, work with Ruby, don't, I don't really give a rat's ass" Dean says to his brother.
"What's your problem?" Sam then asks.
"Pamela didn't want anything to do with this and we dragged her back into it, Sam." Dean tells him.
"Dean, she knew what was at stake" Calliope tells him.
"Oh yeah, saving the world, and we're doing such a damn good job of it" Dean says as he slams his hand against the dash board.
"Dean" Sam says to him.
"I'm tired of burying friends, Sam" Dean says.
"Look, we catch a fresh trail-" Sam says as he continues driving.
"And we follow it, I know. Like I said, I'm just-I'm just getting tired" Dean tells him.
"Well, get angry" Sam says to Dean as he finally come to the motel parking the Impala. The three of them step out, and head for the room.
"Ah, home crappy home" Dean says as he opens the door, Calliope flips the light switch on and they see two figures inside waiting for them.
"Atwell, Winchester and Winchester" Uriel says to the three of them.
"Oh, come on" Dean says bitterly.
"You are needed" Uriel says to them.
"Seriously we are needed, we just got back from where we were needed" Calliope remarks.
"Now, you mind your tone with me" Uriel says to her.
"No, you mind you're damn tone with us" Dean says defending her.
"We just got back from Pamela's funeral" Sam emotions.
"Pamela. You know, psychic Pamela? You remember her. CAs, you remember her, you burned her eyes out. Remember that? Good times, yeah, then she died saving one of your precious seals. So maybe you can stop pushing us around like chess pieces for five freaking minutes!" Dean shouts at the angels.
"We raised you out of hell for our purposes" Uriel says to him.
"Yeah, what were those again? What exactly did you want from me?" Dean asks.
"Start with gratitude" Uriel says.
"Oh" Dean says pissed.
"Dean, we know this is difficult to understand" Castiel says to him.
"And we" Uriel says looking at Castiel, "don't care Now, seven angels have been murdered, all of them from our garrison. The last one was killed tonight" he goes on to tell them.
"I'm guessing Demons, but how are they doing it?" Calliope asks.
"We don't know" Uriel tells her.
"I'm sorry, but what do you want us to do about it? I mean, a demon with the juice to ice angels has to be out of our league, right?" Sam then asks.
"We can handle the demons, thank you very much" Uriel tells him.
"Once we find whoever it is" Castiel adds.
"So you need our help hunting a demon?" Dean asks.
"Not quite, we have Alastair" Castiel tells him.
"Great, he should be able to name your trigger man" Dean says.
"But he won't talk. Alastair's will is very strong. We've arrived at an impasse" Castiel explains.
"Yeah, well , he's like a black belt in torture. I mean, you guys are out of your league" Dean tells them.
"That's why we've come to his student. You happen to be the most qualified interrogator we've got" Uriel says looking at Dean who is looking at the ground.

"Dean, you are our best hope" Castiel tell his
"No, not happening, you cannot ask him to do that, he can't, Cass" Calliope says to the angel.
Uriel walks up tp Dean, "Who said anything about asking?" he says as he touches Dean, and they disappear.
"Damnit!" Sam and Calliope shout together.
"Calliope can you try and locate him?" Sam asks her.
"I'll try" Calliope tells him, as she closes her eyes and tries to focus on Dean, she is having a hard time locating him, still unsure how her powers are really working. She can almost see him, and she tries to go to him, but nothing happens, and she continues to try.
"Calliope, Calliope, stop" she then hears Sam calling to her, and she opens her eyes, and that's when she feels the blood dripping from her nose.
"Guess I don't have the hang of this" she says to him before she starts to fall, and pass out. Sam rushes to her catching her in time, and places her on the nearby bed. Sam takes care of Calliope, as he goes to make a phone call, hoping someone else can help them.
After a hour, Calliope starts to wake back up, she Sam seated on the bed beside her, "Hey" she quietly says to him.
"Hey...take a minute" he tells her, helping her to sit up.
"What happened?" she asks as he passes her a glass of water.
"You passed out, I think you over did it trying to find Dean" he tells her as there is a knock on the door, "It's Ruby, I'm hoping she can find Dean" Sam tells her as he opens the door to the motel.
"I can still smell them, Seriously Sam I'm not exactly dying to tangle with angels again" Ruby says as she steps into the room.
"We need you to find out where they took Dean" Sam tells her.
"Not sure I see the problem. You know they have Alastair strung up six ways from Sunday. Dean cuts himself a slice, Al's reduced to a quivering heap, and the good guys get the goods, what's wrong with that? Plus doesn't she have angelic powers, couldn't she just zap herself there" Ruby says looking over at Calliope.
"She tried, and she can't" Calliope responds, "listen Dean can't just torture Alastair" she adds.
"Look, I get it, you two don't want him going all torture master again" Ruby says to them.
"No, we mean he can't. He can't do the job, something happened to Dean down there that's made him not the same person anymore, Ruby, he's not strong enough" Calliope tells her as she gets up from the bed, and stands beside Sam looking at the demon.
"And you two are?" she asks them.
"I will be" Sam tells her.
"I'm trying to get a hand on these abilities" Calliope tells her.
"Fine, I'm gonna need a candle and a map" she tells them and the two of them get what she needs.
Calliope places a map on the table, and Ruby lights the candle Sam gave her and she starts her spell, as she takes the lit candle to the corner of the map, and they watch as fire spreads onto the map. "Relax, the fire is our friend. Besides, the only part of the map we need is the 'where's Dean?' part." Ruby tells the two of them "Out" she then says and the flames vanish, and there is a small circle in the middle of the map that has been untouched.

"There. Your brother and her boyfriend, is there. It's a good thing angels aren't concerned with hiding their dirty business. Not used to being spied on, I mean, who'd be stupid enough to try" Ruby says as Calliope looks at the spot on the map, she touches it closing her eyes, thinking about Dean.
"Calliope?" she then hears Castiel say and she opens her eyes to see that she's in what looks like an old abandoned prison.
"Where is he Castiel?" she asks him.
"You can't Calliope this is something he needs to do" he tells her.
"I'm not letting the man I care about do something he shouldn't" she says as she starts to walk away, and there is a fluttering sound of wings, and Calliope realizes they aren't alone.
"Anna" Castiel then says,.
"Hello, Castiel, Hello Calliope" she says and they both turn to look at the woman.
"Your human body-""It was destroyed, I know. But I guess I'm sentimental, called in a few favours" Anna tells Castiel.
"You shouldn't be here either of you" Castiel says looking at Calliope before looking back at Anna, "We still have orders to kill you" he tells the angel.
"Somehow I don't think you'll try" Anna says to him, "Where's Uriel?" she then asks.
"He went to receive revelation" he tells her.
"Right" she says to him.
"I'm going to asks what her and I both want to know, why are letting Dean do this" Anna says to Castiel.
"He's doing God's work" he answers her.
"Torturing? That's God's work? Stop him, Cass, please, before you ruin the one real weapon you have" Anna says to him.
"Who are we to question the will of God" Castiel tells her.
"Unless this isn't his will" Anna says to him.
"Then where do the orders come from?" Castiel asks her.
"I don't know, one of our superiors, maybe, but not him" she tells him."The Father, you love, you think he wants this? You think he'd ask this of you? You think this is righteous?" Anna asks him, and he can't look at her. "What you're feeling? It's called doubt" she tells him, as she then touches his hand. "These orders are wrong, and you know it. But you can do the right thing, you're afraid Cass, I was too, But together, and with Calliope's help we can still"
"Together" Castiel says taking his hand away from hers, and stepping over by Calliope, standing in front of her in a protective stance, "I am nothing like you, you fell. Go" he says to her.
"I am staying here with Castiel, I think you need to leave like he said, GO!" Calliope tells her.
"Cass, Calliope" she says to the two of them.
"Go!" Castiel shouts at her and she then vanishes, and they both can hear Alastair screaming in the next room.
"You need to be careful Calliope, if Anna wants you she will find a way" Castiel says to her.
"I can handle her Cass, but thank you" she says to him when they hear a commotion in the next room.
The two of them rush in to see Alastair holding a bloody and beaten Dean up against the wall. Castiel picks up Ruby's knife and Alastair turns to see the two of them, he drops Dean to the ground, as Castiel goes to attack Alastair with the knife.
Calliope runs to Dean, pulling him up onto her lap, "Dean please, stay with me Dean" she cries. As she watches Castiel fight off Alastair, the knife having been plunged into Alastair's body is not doing what it is intended to do, and Alastair pulls it out tossing it away as he charges Castiel. Calliope tries to use her powers to get Alastair to stay away from Castiel, but Alastair sees her first, "Nah.nah..nah" he says using his own power to make her go flying back and hitting her head off the brick wall and everything goes black for her.
Calliope can hear beeping noises, and her eyes slowly flutter open, looking around she see's she's in a hospital bed. Looking over she see's Dean also lying in a bed, he's heavily bandaged, and she notice's the breathing tube, and IV. Calliope then spots Sam sleeping in a nearby chair, "Sam..Sam" she calls out, and he wakes up and looks at her.
"Calliope thank God" he says as he comes over to her.
"What..what happened?" she asks him.
"I found you and Dean with Castiel, he said Alastair attacked you and Dean, that the Devils Trap broke, and he beat Dean to a pulp, and you got banged into a wall." Sam tells her.
"Sam...You're keeping something from me...you used your powers on Alastair didn't you" she asks him, and he doesn't say a word and looks away from her. "Oh Sam..." she says as she then looks at Dean. "Can...Can you help me see him?" she then asks him.
"Uh...yeah...yeah" Sam says to her as he takes a nearby wheelchair and helps her into it. He wheels her over to Dean, and she reaches her hand out taking Dean's hand into her.
"Has...has Castiel come by?" Calliope then asks looking at Sam.
"Yeah...and he wouldn't heal either one of you, and I wasn't too thrilled with him about that, also it's not demons killing the angels" Sam tells her .
"Then what the hell is?" she asks him.
"I don't know but that is Castiel's problem not ours, not anymore" Sam says to her.
"Are you going to tell Dean, what you had to do?" she then asks.
"I can't Callie" he says to her.
"You will one day...you will have to tell him the truth Sam" she says as she looks back over at Dean.
A few days later Dean woke up, and had the breathing tube removed, relief filled Sam and Calliope and neither of them wanted to leave his side. Calliope sat on the bed beside Dean, as they were watching some silly soap opera, when Castiel comes into the room and sits in the chair that Sam usually occupied, but he had left on a food run. "Are you two all right?" Castiel asks them both.
"No thanks to you" Dean tells him.
"You need to be more careful" Castiel says.
"You need to learn how to manage a damn devil's trap" Dean tells him.
"That's not what I mean, Uriel is dead" Castiel tells them.
"Did the demons do it?" Calliope asks the angel.
"It was disobedience, he was working against us" Castiel answers her.
"Is it true? Did I break the first seal? Did I start all this?" Dean suddenly asks and Calliope is taken aback by what he is asking Castiel.
Castiel looks ad Dean "Yes. When we discovered Lilith's plan for you, we laid siege to hell and we fought our way to get to you before you-"
"Jump-started the apocalypse" Dean says for him.
"And we were too late" Castiel says to him.
"Why didn't you just leave me there, then?" Dean asks.
"It's not blame that falls on you, Dean, it's fate. The righteous man who begins it is the only one who can finish it. You have to stop it" Castiel tells him.
"What do you mean he has to stop it, stop what Lucifer, the apocalypse?" Calliope then asks.
"Hey! Don't you go disappearing on us! You son of a bitch, what does that mean!" Dean then shouts at Castiel.
"I don't know" he answers the two of them.
"That's bull" Calliope remarks.
"I don't Calliope, Dean, they don't tell me much, I know our fate rests with you" he says to Dean.
"Well, then you guys are screwed, I can't do it, Cass. It's too Big Alastair was right, I'm not all here. I'm not-I'm not strong enough. Well I guess I'm not the man either of our dads wanted me to be, find someone else, it's not me" Dean cries to Castiel as Callie just holds him close.
A/N:Surprisingly this episode worked out to be only one chapter, I did skip this episode after this one since it was more of something happeneing in Dean's mind, and I tried to write it a million times and it just wasn't working right

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!
8 181Obsession x Mana
The modern world had become exposed to a new element which became unanimously known as "Mana" after a freak meteorite incident, creating people with superpowers and monsters that threaten life on Earth. Perun, the "Progenitor" of the meta-humans retired as a war hero and created a Dark Guild, its members being the war orphans he had adopted throughout his career. His peaceful life of filling paperwork begins to collapse as the nightmare of his "Awakening" becomes increasingly unbearable, forcing his once-powerful abilities to turn dormant. Unbeknownst to Perun, the problem children he had adopted since young, have grown up into girls with cheat-level abilities due to the properties of his mana; they became meta-humans far beyond the level of humanity, powers that contest a twisted love monopoly for their father. Should anyone bare their fangs (or romantic interest) towards their beloved one, their sweet facades shall break with no hesitation. When their seemingly unaware Master is forced to return to the center stage again as a "Level 1" character like the rest of the world, his obsessive daughters shall move beneath the shadows to create his new legend. This is the story of yanderes & obsessions.
8 86Meaning: The End of the Starless Century
Magic was once a reality of everyday life, shaping the lives of the gifted and ungifted alike since the dawn of humanity. That all changed in the fires of World War I. Seeking to avoid catastrophe, humanity’s leaders enacted the Masquerade Order and segregated the magical community while also forming The Congregation to enforce the separation. As time passed, the awesome power of magic was forgotten by the world outside. This held true for a little over a century, but things begin to change when three individuals intersect in the peaceful town of Ithaca, New York. Noelle Sellers, a newly minted policewoman searching for her place in the world. Levi Wright, a mage living in Ithaca who is far more than he lets on. Lorelei Himmel, a juvenile witch in hiding out of fear of what people would do to her, and what she may do to them. As forces slithering in the darkness emerge from the murky depths of the world, the timeless battle for magic and for the future itself begins once again.
