《Soccer/Football Imagines》Marc Bartra (Part 9) [~] Contracted Love

You and Tommy had to stay in the hospital for a few additional days because he was a premature birth and they wanted to be sure that everything was okay. Marc had stayed the whole time with the both of you, never once leaving the hospital. It was finally time for you and Marc to bring Tommy home. You had agreed to stay at Marc's house, because that's where all the baby stuff was housed, for the time being.
You sat in the back with Tommy as Marc drove slowly through the streets of Barcelona. You all made it home in one piece and Marc helped you into the house. Opening the door, you were surprised to see all of the Barcelona players and their WAGs standing in your living room. "Welcome home Tommy, future Culé!" the banner read.
"Surprise!" everyone said. You smiled as Marc, looking absolutely confused, walked inside right behind you. Tommy was still asleep in your arms as you and Marc walked around the house, receiving congratulations from everyone there.
"You guys didn't have to do this," you smiled, hugging Toni as you said so.
"We wanted to, it's Barcelona tradition," she responded, Thiago resting on her hip. You waved to the littlest Messi before continuing to greet everyone. You handed Tommy to Marc. Now awake, your son looked around at all the new faces around him.
"He looks just like Marc," Neymar commented.
"Such a shame, he had such potential too," Dani joked. Tommy whined and you took him from Marc.
"Let me go feed him before he meets everyone else," you said, walking to your bedroom. You breastfed Tommy, as the doctor had suggested for the first few weeks, and walked back into the party. Tommy was passed around. He seemed to enjoy the attention and you trusted everyone there with your son. They had brought a cake and you cut the cake. After passing around the cake, it was time for presents. "You guys really didn't need to do this, you've already done so much."
"Oh we insist, go on, open them," Shakira stated, handing you a package. Pulling out the small jersey, you smiled. It was a Barcelona jersey with Papa on the back and Marc's number. You got some more Barcelona merchandise for your son and some essential baby stuff that your son would need. It got late and everyone piled out of the house, leaving just you and Marc with your son.

Exhausted, you started to put away everything. A hand stopped you. Looking up, you say Marc standing there. "I'll clean it up, why don't you get Tommy ready for bed?" You nodded and grabbed your son from the basinet you had put him in a few minutes ago. He was awake but you knew that that wouldn't last. Opening the door to the nursery you and Marc had thrown together when you were six months pregnant, you sat in the rocking chair. You gently rocked back and forth, lulling your son to bed. You smiled as his chest rose and fell as he drifted to sleep. You placed him into the crib and turned on the baby monitor.
Stretching your back, you walked back downstairs to see Marc still cleaning. You helped him put everything away before you both walked upstairs. Checking on your son one last time, you walked into Marc's room. Too tired to even care, you plopped down on the bed and fell asleep quickly, the baby monitor on the night stand next to you. It was around two in the morning when your son's cries emanated from the baby monitor. Groggily sitting up, you yawned. Marc sat up too. "Let me get him, you can go back to bed," Marc yawned, getting out of bed. You wanted to protest but didn't have the energy to do so. Falling back asleep, you were only awoken by the bed dipping next to you.
Marc laid down flat on his back, Tommy asleep on his chest. You smiled sleepily at the sight. Tommy was fast asleep and so was Marc soon after. You drifted back to sleep, all of you exhausted from the day's events. You woke up to Tommy's fussing again. Carefully taking him from Marc's chest, you fed him quietly. Marc stirred next to you and woke up. Looking up at your son, Marc's face immediately broke into a smile. Tommy hiccupped but you burped him and the hiccups went away.
Getting out of bed, you walked downstairs into the living room, Marc right behind you. Setting your son in the basinet, you turned to the kitchen where you started making breakfast for you and Marc. Marc entertained your son in the other room as you did so. You couldn't help but smile at Marc. He had broken your heart, repeatedly, but there was something about the way he acted around your son that made you reconsider a divorce. Placing a plate of breakfast next to him, you and Marc ate breakfast in the living room, watching your son sleep peacefully.

"So, where do we go from here?" Marc asked. "When are you and Tommy going to move out?" Taking a moment to process the question, you shrugged your shoulders.
"I don't know when we will. I don't really have anywhere to go from here. Taking a newborn on a plane ride or a long train ride is not a good idea so I'm stuck here for now," you replied.
"I'm sorry," Marc sighed, "I don't want you to feel like I'm holding you and Tommy here hostage."
"It's not your fault, it's just not safe to travel with a newborn," you muttered.
"Well, do you want to get a divorce while you and Tommy are still here or afterwards?" Marc questioned, shaking the rattle for your son as he started to whine in his basinet. You sighed. Marc, noticing your distress, turned to look at you. "Is something wrong? I'm sorry for asking if it's touchy for you."
"No, it's no problem. It's just that . . . I don't know if moving out of here is the best option for Tommy," you sighed. "Here he has a support system if anything goes wrong, but if I left he wouldn't have that. And then there's the problem of custody and lack of a father figure type of thing," you ranted. Marc stared at you, a glint of hope in his eyes.
"You know you'd get primary care without a fight, right?"
"I'm fully aware of that but I'd feel like I'm robbing Tommy of a father, and I don't want him to have to go through what I did," you explained, remembering back to your own childhood without a father figure. It had repercussions on you, your sister, and your mother. It tore your family apart.
"I'll never be more than a plane ride away, no matter where you go," Marc replied.
"I know that. Then there's Skype and FaceTime and all of that but Tommy needs a father figure that's always around for him. Not one that he waves to through a glass screen."
"What are you saying, (Y/N)?" Sighing, you turned to look at Marc who looked at you expectantly.
"I'll stay here with Tommy until he's a bit older and we'll go from there," you stated.
"How long is that? I don't want you to feel like we are chained together for life. I made mistakes and I hurt you. I had no right to do that and you and Tommy deserve a guy who'll put your futures above his own," Marc confessed.
"I don't know. Two? Three? Maybe four? Right now he doesn't understand anything but we'll see later if he's happier here with the both of us or with just me wherever. I'm thinking of his well-being here, Marc," you confided to your husband.
"Whatever makes you and Tommy happy, do it," Marc stated. Tommy started fussing in his basinet. Marc turned away from you and picked up his newborn. Resting your son on his chest, Tommy stopped fussing once the warmth of his father soothed him. Marc ran a finger up and down his small back lightly, soothing your son further.
"I think he's . . . we are . . . happiest here, with you," you gulped, not knowing how Marc would react. He merely smiled and kissed your forehead lightly. You didn't shy away from his touch and instead watched your son fall asleep in his father's arms once again.

8 145Ambrosius: My Own Time
Hi... I died. Well actually... I didn't really die. My previous life definitely did though. If I'm being honest... If I truly died... what would happen? Where would I go? Is life just a fragile switch to be flipped? Or... is it something much more? Well, to answer those questions I asked, I had to live... and die... then live again... and die again. Over and over I lived... and died. Until one day... the ball of yarn I had been chasing around... finally unraveled itself. What was at end of the string... nothing, because that's all it is... a string of life... and death. But say... I am the one who unraveled the yarn ball of life and death.. so why must I abide by the rules of it? Why must my life... or rather... lives... be mortal? I... should be the only one... the only person to have unraveled that ball. The ONLY one, huh... sound nice... doesn't it? An infinite time... one devoid of the rules life and death that have been set upon me... a time that I should own... and one that I do own, from on, and forever. My own time... and the time that I own.
