《Soccer/Football Imagines》James Rodriguez [~] A Kiss is the Best Medicine

Sitting in your apartment, alone, you sighed and decided to stare at the ceiling. Your life was going to hell. As a professional footballer, you had injured yourself during a game. Well, you didn't injure yourself, some bitch on the other team did. And now you were out for a few weeks with a messed up knee. Reduced to crutches, you were in no condition to drive anywhere or to do anything for that matter, which pissed you off to no end. Getting up, you hobbled to the door as someone knocked on it. Cursing loudly as you dropped one of your crutches, you hobbled the rest of the way on one crutch.
Throwing the door open, you stared down at the package that lay on your front porch. You bent down, shaking due to your inability to maintain balance, and clutched the package in your hand. Standing up was a whole new battle. You stood up slowly, trying to not fall down. You turned to return inside when you started to loose your balance. You shrieked as you started to fall backwards, only to fall into someone's arms. Looking up, you say your best friend, James Rodriguez. He smiled down at you, helping you back into a standing position.
"Doesn't a hero get a kiss for saving the damsel in distress?" James joked, grabbing the package from your hands.
Rolling your eyes, you replied with a blush tinting your cheeks, "You wish Romeo." After helping you back into your house and sitting you down on the couch, he handed you the package you had been sent. Using a nearby pair of scissors you opened the package to find the stuff from your locker back at the stadium. You growled, throwing the package across the room. They couldn't drive the twenty minutes to your house to drop it off. You rolled your eyes at your teammates. You had gotten injured scoring the goal that got them to the next round of the tournament and this is how they thank you.

"What's wrong?" James asked, running over.
"I think I'm transferring teams at the end of the season," you replied, hobbling towards the kitchen. Pulling a glass out of the cupboard, you filled it with water before downing the liquid. James walked over, concerned.
"I think you need some fun, Ms. Grumpy," he teased.
"I don't need any fun right now," you growled, refilling the glass.
"Come on, don't tell me you don't want to go out? Not even a little?" he asked. You let James drag you out of the house reluctantly. Placing your crutches in the back of the car, James drove away from your house.
"Where are you taking me?" you asked. He didn't reply and turned up the music. Rolling your eyes at your best friend, you turned your eyes to the road. After a few minutes, James pulled off the road onto a dirt road. Confused, you looked over at the Colombian who seemed to ignore your gaze. After a minute on the road, a beach came into view. James parked the car before leading you towards the beach.
"I discovered the beach when I had to go clear my head. As far as I know, we're the only two who know about it," James stated. Looking around at the beautiful beach you smiled. Leaving your crutches on the shore, you leaned on James as you walked into the water. Your brace allowed you to get your feet wet but not much more. No matter, you had fun. Kicking, water in James' direction, you tried to hop away on one foot only to have him come from behind you. He picked you up by the waist and twirled you around, making you giggle.
He set you back down before turning around, motioning for you to hop onto his back. You hopped up, James pulling you up further. He walked further into the water, the waves now starting to wet his shorts. His hands came around to grab your waist. He lifted you up and held you upside down. "Don't you dare—" you warned him before he dunked your head underneath the water. You came up sputtering and glaring at him. He smiled innocently at your expression, the water cascading down your face.

"You're lucky I'm in this brace, Rodriguez," you replied. James repositioned you so that your arms were around his neck and your legs were wrapped around his waist. Staring into his deep brown eyes, you couldn't help but flick your eyes down to his pink lips. Without a second thought, James leaned forward and kissed you. Initially in shock, you quickly responded back, enjoying your alone time. You both pulled back, breathing heavily, your foreheads touching.
"Was this enough fun for you, Ms. Grumpy," James joked, placing a kiss on your forehead.
"It was a lot of fun Mr. Mean Man," you replied in the same joking tone. James walked you back over to the dry beach, setting you down carefully on the sand. He handed you a towel that he had in his trunk before sitting next to you on the warm sand. You leaned your head on his shoulder, watching the sun set in the distance.
"(Y/N), will you be my girlfriend?" James asked, looking you in the eyes.
"Did you even have to ask?" you replied, reconnecting you lips again. After the sun had sunk and night had fallen, James led you back over to the car. You drove back in silence, just enjoying the company of each other. James pulled into your driveway. Grabbing your crutches from the back seat, you unlocked the front door and walked inside. Turning around, you came face to face with James, your best friend and your now boyfriend.
"Good night, princess," he stated, leaning forward to kiss your forehead.
"Good night, prince charming," you replied, waving good bye as he drove away. Closing the door behind you, you couldn't help but smile and giggle like a school girl in love for the first time. Well, you were most definitely in love with James Rodriguez and he was undeniably in love with you.
