The Rise and Fall of Sue Sylvester

Mr. Schue walked into the choir room. "I've gathered you all here today because Blaine, Kurt and I have been talking, and although just a moment ago, we could only see the Warblers as our competition, now it's time to see them as a friend and ally." He nodded toward the Warblers. "We have made the decision to make some lemonade with these lemons and join together as a show choir super group. This is an opportunity for all of us, we them just as much as they need us."

"Not the best metaphor." Haley muttered as everyone began to chatter.

"Where's Rachel? Shouldn't she be here for this?" Kitty spoke up.

"She's back in New York on some business, but she'll be back soon and she's totally on board with the plan." Mr. Schue answered.

"Well okay." Kitty smiled at the Warblers.

"Maybe we have our new leader." Haley teased, as Kitty smirked, leading the New Directions to shake hands with the Warblers.

"Thank you so much, Mr. Schue, for your generosity. It's in times like these that we can find comfort in the kindness of our friends." Blaine said.

"It's gonna be a challenge for all of us to move forward, but I know we can do this. And I think it's so amazing that the Warblers passion for show choir is stronger than ever. Because we're really gonna need that strength and commitment, not only to win sectionals, but to take it all the way to Nationals this year!"

"I'm sorry, but the aroma of overly dry-cleaned polyester uniforms just wafted into my office and up my extremely sensitive nose and I can see why now. The glee club is hosting the Lima Gay Men's Chorus." Sue said, clapping sarcastically, as she walked in.

"Sue, these are Warblers." Haley pointed out, sternly.

"They're at McKinley now. They're part of the New Directions." Mr. Schue added.

"Oh no, they most certainly are not! They're gonna take their freshly scrubbed, cherubic faces and get the hell out of my school."

"They're staying Sue. I've already had it cleared with the superintendent."

"How dare you go over my head!" Sue said angrily!

"And that's the tea." Haley said sarcastically. The Warblers looked at her as she shrugged. "It happens all the time. Enjoy it."

"Well I will just have to get it uncleared. With senate majority leader Mitch McConnell, who I recently met on the Cayman Islands at a leadership retreat and turtle hunt. He's also a priority contact on my new cutting edge Apple Watch. Now fly away Warblers." Sue said.

"Don't listen to her, stay."

"Leave!"

"Stay!"

"Um...follow me guys." Haley said, leading them out of the room away from Sue.

"Make no mistake, when the final bell tolls, I will have plucked every Warbler feather from this school. Doomsday has arrived."

"Bring it Susie Q."

After the superintendent had found Sue's secret hurt locker, she was due for an interview and her career was slowly progressing downhill.

She had stopped by Haley and Sam's apartment and threatened to ruin Haley's life if she didn't want to be on the TV interview.

Even Sue just coming by, freaked the hell out of Haley even though she had masked a tough exterior.

After the whole visit, Haley sat on the couch sorting through baby clothes and trying to keep her anxiety to a minimum.

"Hey baby." Sam entered their apartment, coming to wrap his arms around her.

"Hey." She sighed.

"Are you okay?" Sam asked, concerned.

"Honestly no...I'm stressed getting ready for our baby in 2 months, and Sue threatened me."

"She what?" He asked in disbelief.

"She threatened to 'ruin my life' if I wasn't in the TV interview. Not that she'll actually ruin my life, but she did come over here an hour ago and corner me in the kitchen, so..."

"Oh Hayley. I don't think she'll ruin your life either. She's in a terrible rage right now." Sam pointed out, as he held onto her hands.

"I guess. I'm just really overwhelmed right now, so I'm not going to do it." Haley said, as she felt the stress and anxiety rising. "I have too much to do, and I need to rest..but I-I feel forced to do something." She choked as her voice cracked. "It's like-like I'm her target and she'll shoot the arrow, which is me, if I don't participate." She finished, as she pulled her hands from his, hiding her face in them, crying and letting herself be upset, and vulnerable.

Sam's heart broke seeing her overwhelmed and upset. He knew how she hated feeling pressured and being vulnerable.

"You don't have to feel forced, Hay. I'm sorry she came in here and threatened you.. I could've done something if I was there. You have a choice though. What she does or says doesn't define the wonderful person you are." Sam said, bringing her into his arms, letting her cry into his chest.

After a few moments, she took three deep breaths before she continued talking as Sam wiped the tears falling down her face, although Haley's voice cracked a little as she spoke.

"Well I'm fine, just overwhelmed. And she has been very cruel to me, especially last year and she did try to force me to shoot out a cannon a few years ago. There's a lot of cruel scenarios...technically...couldn't she be taken to the police station?"

"I think we can, but let's just wait a bit." Sam said. "You are going to be okay, so let's just rest right now, and we can focus on getting things ready for our daughter." He said, as she sighed.

"Yeah, you're right." Haley said, snapping into her work mode. "Okay so I have paint colors picked out, and I have bins with clothing and everything." She continued talking, as Sam watched her fondly. He really loved her.

Rachel had taken another step, getting back on her feet after her catastrophic failed TV show. She had reapplied to NYADA, and Mercedes was particularly worried about it.

"Rachel, I think you may be reading into this a little too much." Mercedes spoke up after Rachel had told them her plan.

"I don't think so." Rachel protested adamantly.

"Yeah, I mean anyone named Carmen Tibideax doesn't seem like a woman who changes her mind." Sam began, before mumbling. "Or stays in human form for long. I always thought NYADA was a school for witches."

"I think what Sam is trying to say is..." Haley began, as Blaine continued for her. "Is that if you're just reaching a little bit. If you remember, I got kicked out of NYADA, Carmen cut me herself."

"Like, with a knife because she wanted your blood for potions?" Sam asked.

"No, Sam, because she's not a witch." Blaine replied.

"Look, you guys, I could see it in her eyes, she was moved momentarily. And for that moment, I saw myself back at NYADA, back on track, before my life got completely derailed, which is why I'm writing this letter and I'm putting all of my humiliation out there, all the bad reviews and good Glee Club ones. And she's gonna see it and she's gonna give me another chance."

"You can't get your hopes up too much, Rach." Haley commented. "Then again, your optimism, focus, drive and ambition is immaculate." She shrugged.

"Look, we're all behind you one hundred percent getting your life back on track, but I think that you clinging onto NYADA-"

Mercedes was cut off by Rachel's phone ringing, as Rachel ran out to answer it. It turns out the producer from a musical Rachel had auditioned for called her telling her she landed the role. And NYADA was off the track once again.
