WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW

Haley sighed as she walked home from getting soup for her and Sam for dinner. They were both on different schedules today, so she just left his food in the fridge with a note, and made her way to the park.

After she sat down, and began to eat her soup, she suddenly felt very nauseous. "Oh god..." She muttered as she made a quick run for the park bathroom, but didn't succeed, so she threw up in whatever was closest, which happened to be the trash can. She sighed.

"That's weird. I thought that soup place was healthy and safe...oh I need to get rid of the soup before Sam eats it." She panicked, making a run to the apartment.

However, she wasn't in luck, because he sat there about to take a spoonful of his soup. "No, no, no." She said running to the kitchen and taking it out of his hands.

"What's up Hay?" He asked, frowning.

"That soup isn't good. I feel sick. I think it's food poisoning, so I don't want you getting sick." Haley said, throwing the soup out.

"Okay..." Sam responded, as he watched Haley pick up the phone.

"We'll just order pizza alright?" She asked.

"Wait, just sit down, I'll call and order pizza okay?" He asked, bringing her to the couch as she sighed, complying to his orders.

"Fine." She muttered sitting down, as he sat down next to her, while she wrapped herself in a blanket.

He sighed, and frowned when she quickly got up to go throw up in the bathroom.

"Are you okay, Hay?" He asked as he went to her hair back for her.

"Yeah totally." She smiled at him, wiping her tears, and walking back to the couch. Even though he didn't fully believe her, he let it slide.

Later after the two had eaten, while after Sam had eaten some slices of pizza, his phone buzzed.

"Oh, Mike and Tina say feel better. Actually the whole gang does."

"Tell them thanks, although I can imagine, they're thinking I'm spewing up throw-up and doing unspeakable things." Haley sighed. "I look horrible."

"No, baby, you look beautiful as always. Now get some rest okay? We have another day of teaching tomorrow." Sam assured her as she cuddled up against him, and they fell asleep.

----

With the win at invitationals, the new glee members had definitely come out of their shells. Everything was looking positive with the new additions of Kitty and Spencer.

"Hello winners!" Rachel said as her and Kurt walked into the choir room. "Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm still basking in the glow of our first many, championship trophies!"

"Well, Rachel and I want our champions to celebrate another champion." Kurt said, as he shoved his hands into his pockets.

"Katniss Everdeen!" Brittany called out as she played with Haley's hair.

"Close." Rachel grinned, stepping aside to reveal the whiteboard which had the name 'Burt Bacharach.' written on it.

"This is a good time to go to the bathroom or fall asleep or get a snack." Kitty whispered, as Spencer chuckled.

"Burt Bacharach has written seventy-three top forty hits. He's also won three Oscars, two golden globes, and a buttload of Grammy's. His music has been featured on everything from the Simpsons to Goodfellas." Kurt explained.

"And you can't help but grin when you listen to his music. His songs are uplifting and theatrical and optimistic." Rachel added.

"We need to soak up all his uplifting energy as we get ready for sectionals which are five weeks away, but I guarantee you, Vocal Adrenaline and the Warblers are doing everything in their power to regain their former glory." Kurt said.

"But fear not! Because we have a secret weapon!" Rachel said pointing to Mercedes who smiled. "Is that my cue?"

"Mercedes!" Haley gasped, going to engulf the girl in a hug.

"Yes I am here to mentor you and yes, these might be real diamonds and yes, my single, 'Shakin My Head' is number eighty-nine on iTunes. So which one of you wants me to mentor you?" Mercedes asked, as everyone raised their hand up.

----

Haley frowned when she saw thousands of texts from Rachel. As she entered the choir room, she saw the other brunette pacing back and forth behind the piano.

"Haley! You're here!"

"Uh, yeah, you texted me like a bazillion times. What's going on Rach?" Haley asked.

"I need you to take over the Glee Club for me. Can you please do that for me?

"Of course, I'd love to. But isn't that what's Kurt for...and what about Mercedes?"

"Yes. Kurt! Yes, Kurt, he's great, he's my rock, he's my best friend. It's just that, you know, I think he works better in collaborations and I don't want all the kids singing 'Into the Woods' and Paula Cole this week so you'll just keep them in check, okay? I'll be back soon, okay?"

"Rach, is everything alright?"

"Oh god, Rachel!" Haley explained, as Rachel showed her a ticket. "Oh god! You're gonna smash this audition out of the park!"

"Thank you - for everything. I know that this is all just a huge long shot and I probably won't even get it and I could totally mess up and forget all my words..." Rachel rambled, choking up and placing her head in her hands. "I'm sorry." She said, her words muffled.

"Rachel, what's going on? You can talk to me." Haley assured her, as they sat down together at the piano.

"I'm just scared. I haven't been this scared in my entire life before. You know, when I was in high school and I had all these big Broadway dreams, I got used to everyone laughing at me. And I figured one day that I'd make and I would show them that I'm not a joke anymore." She sniffled. "And then I did, and it all fell apart and I realized that there is a whole different kind of laughing that is way worse, so I can't-I can't fail again." Rachel sniffled.

"Rachel, we are all going to fail again and again. You think that even when I was on Cheerios, and now coaching it, that I get the choreography right? I don't always get it right. But I promise you, when you sing, nobody's laughing, okay?" Haley asked her.

"If I am to be honest, I know we haven't always gotten along, but I'm proud of you Rachel. No matter how mean and bitchy I may have been. I've said it before, and to myself, we are all going to fail, but it doesn't define us. We get up and try again." Haley said.

"Thanks, Hay, I'm going to hug you okay?" Rachel asked as Haley nodded, before Rachel pulled her into a grateful hug.

"Right, now take a deep breath, there are only two things you need to remember: what's your name?"

"Rachel Berry."

"And?"

"And I'm going to be singing 'Promises, Promises' by Burt Bacharach.

"That's it! You're good to go." Haley grinned, handing Rachel her plane ticket.

----

After hearing about Rachel's incredibly successful audition, and some runs to the bathroom-more times than she wished to admit, Haley was joined by Sam, on her way to the auditorium.

"Hey there baby, ambition is a dream with a V-8 engine." He grinned, using an Elvis Presely impression.

Haley giggled, as he wrapped his arms around her waist, turning her around to face him. "I don't know what it is, but your impressions always make my day." Haley smiled, as he pressed his lips to hers.

"I love you Hay." He smiled as they pulled away. "Are you feeling any better?"

"Honestly, not the best, but I've managed." She shrugged. "Made a few more runs to the bathroom, but I'm fine. The food poisoning is out of my system...And I love you too." She added.

"Well that's good, baby." Sam answered, as they walked hand in hand to the auditorium to wait for Brittany and Santana.

----

When Brittany and Santana had been escorted to their seats by Spencer, Artie wheeled out onto the stage. "Welcome guests of honour." He addressed them. "Now as your wedding planner, I need to warn you about a major crisis regarding the wedding reception. Since Santana's grandmother is no longer attending - such a shame - there is now an empty seat at the Lopez family table and I don't know what to do about it. Now the problem isn't taking away a chair, it's adding chairs because several other members of Santana's family want that spot."

As Artie finished, Kurt, Blaine, Rachel, Kitty, Haley, Sam, Mercedes, and Mr. Schue came onto the stage. They waved, and smiled, as they saw Santana's face light up.

"Family are the people who embrace you for who you are, no matter what." Kurt started.

"They can see the pain in your eyes, even when you're fooling everyone else." Blaine added.

"Family's make each other feel loved, and make each other smile and laugh. All culminating to make your life a little brighter and worth living." Haley smiled.

"Family's like fudge! Mostly sweet with a couple of nuts." Sam grinned, as Brittany, face palmed herself, laughing.

"And although we may not be related by blood, we are bonded by something much stronger: love." Mercedes stated.

"And it may be a little presumptuous, but we'd like to be in your wedding party." Rachel said.

"And the new kids and I would be honoured to cater, pass out programmes, and release the doves." Kitty finished, pointing a finger at Artie. "There better be doves."

"Oh there will be." Artie assured her, chuckling.

"Santana and Brittany, this is for you. We love you."

{WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW-SUNG BY THE NEW DIRECTIONS}

----

Then next evening, Haley came out of the bathroom, to find Sam, eating the soup on their bed. The soup that had made Haley feel nauseous earlier that week.

"I ate the soup, Hay, and I didn't get sick." He said, as she smiled, keeping her hands behind her back.

"I know baby, I'm pregnant." Haley smiled, showing him her positive pregnancy test. She sat in front of him, as he went to look at the test.

"Wait..." Sam, frowned, before a smile lit up his face. "What? I can't believe it."

"We're having a baby." Haley smiled, softly, as he looked at her fondly, wiping the tears from her face, and moving the stray hairs out of the way.

He then smiled, moving on to kiss her on her forehead, before kissing her on both her cheeks and nose, finally capturing her lips in his.

She smiled into the kiss and after they pulled away, she wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a hug.

"I'm so happy." He whispered, wrapping his arms around her.

There was going to be a new addition, and they both couldn't be happier.
