SEASON 6 Ep: 2: HOMECOMING

•••••

Rachel had managed to restart the Glee Club at McKinley. Currently, she, Kurt, Sam and Haley were at Mr. Schue's apartment. She was explaining her plans for the reinstated club.

"I forgot how cold those slushies are. They chill you to the bone." She said.

"Well I'm sorry that happened to you Rachel." Mr. Schue said. "Alright guys, dinner is served."

They all sat down at the table, while Rachel shrugged her shoulders. "You know what though? It didn't really bother me. It felt good being an underdog again, like I was getting back to my McKinley roots."

"All that from getting slushied in the face? Well I guess Becky did you a solid." Sam teased her, smiling.

"Wait, so are you two co-directing then?" Mr. Schue asked, pointing to both Kurt and Rachel.

"Well I guess we haven't come to that conversation yet." Rachel said awkwardly. "We're just focusing on recruiting right now so..."

The doorbell interrupted Rachel, as Mr. Schue got up and opened the door, letting Blaine in. "Hey everybody. Sorry I'm late, what did I miss?"

"Rachel got slushied. I actually haven't yet." Haley said, filling him in.

"But other than that, not much. But since I have you all here, we might as well get started. We have some fierce show choir competition ahead of us and I think we should lay down some ground rules." Mr. Schue explained.

"Yes. Like, no stealing each other's setlists." Rachel spoke up.

"And no spying." Kurt added.

"And no poaching." Blaine offered his suggestion.

"And always be supportive and clap for each other, no matter what." Sam finished, as Haley smiled.

"I could actually really do with everyone's advice. I have a huge dilemma." Blaine spoke up. "A girl wants to join the Warblers."

"What's the dilemma?" Haley asked.

"You cannot be on the wrong side of history here. You of all people should know that." Mr. Schue said disappointed.

"I know. I just think that tradition is important too." Blaine defended himself.

"Blaine, some traditions are meant to be broken. I'm sure this girl is very talented. She deserves an audition." Haley added.

"You have to let her try out." Sam commented, agreeing with Haley,.

"I mean, I don't think anything could possibly go wrong. Give her a chance." Haley said, as Blaine sighed.

----

Everyone had reunited back at McKinley for homecoming. Rachel had called the group to help her and Kurt recruit members for Glee Club.

"It's so great to have you all together in this room again. It means so much that you would come at a drop of a hat." Rachel addressed the group, grateful for their agreement to help.

"Artie are you drawing me?" Quinn asked, frowning, at his storyboard.

"Nope just your boobs." Artie said, as Sam smiled, earning a hard slap from Haley. "Dude, really?" Haley asked.

"I'm practicing for my storyboarding class." Artie explained, casually.

"Okay we need to focus." Kurt said.

"Yeah guys, we really need to focus here. We're in crisis mode. Glee Club has done so much for all of us, it brought us together, it gave us hope and it brought some of us home again." Rachel continued.

"She's talking about us." Haley and Sam said in unison.

'Here's the situation. We need you guys back-not all the time, we realize you've got lives in other places." As the group nodded.

"We've got to get Glee Club back on its feet you know? Especially since now some of us are the competition."

"She's talking about Mr. Schue and Blaine." Sam interjected.

"We need you back. Not all the time, but if you're not here, the tradition of the club we love so much will be gone. We're gonna find kids that could bring something to it the same way we did and mentor them based on their strengths."

Kurt held up a boombox, placing it on the piano. "But right now, we've really got to get out there and take on the school, you know, rattle Sue's cage. We are gonna give McKinley a taste of what it's been missing."

{TAKE ON ME-SUNG BY THE NEW DIRECTIONS}

The New Directions finished, standing on tables and on the ground in the cafeteria, wearing neon clothes, after their flash mob through the school.

A football player came and tossed a slushie right in Haley's face, as she gasped out in surprise. "Oh god.. You know what? I'll be right back, I'm going to go cry now... peace out homies." She said sarcastically, walking off toward the bathroom, to clean up. Sam went after her.

The rest of the group were stunned as to why no one clapped. They wondered what they were doing wrong.

----

"Attention!" Puck commanded, as him and a small group from Glee Club entered a supposedly popular club.

"At ease tea-baggers. I am airman first class Noah Puckerman but you can call me sir."

"When we went to McKinely, we were part of conservative clubs too, like the celibacy club and the god squad." Quinn explained, smiling gently.

"Most of you guys are Christian right?" Mercedes asked.

"We're all Christians!" A girl answered, proudly raising her hand.

"Before I joined Glee Club, I only hung out with people who were just like me." Quinn said.

"But then Puck got her pregnant and she kind of changed for the better." Tina added, smiling.

"Point is, nerds, you need to take your three conrered hats out of your loser butts and join the New Directions!" Puck said. "They'll take anyone, even you."

"Sir, we were always taught to respect our elders, but don't call us losers. The tea party patriots is the school's most popular club." One of the girls spoke up.

"Oh my god! That's horrible! What is happening to America?!" Tina gasped, dramatically, for effect.

"I'll tell you what's happened. We've grown up in the biggest economic depression since the 1930s. Our mission is to fix the mess that Barack Hussain Obama created before and the homo-elite turned this country into a Muslim welfare state!" A boy spoke up.

"Oh god, no!" Haley said. "Don't you dare talk about respected former political leaders like that!" Haley said into his face.

"You know what? Don't you, you or you join the Glee club. Because you know what? We don't need you ignorant, backwards, lily-white, gay-hating, Obama-bashing clubbers anyway." Mercedes said, giving the club a piece of her mind.

"Preach!" Haley snapped her fingers.

"I'll be taking these." Quinn said, going to pick the plate of cakes.

"The cake has opinions too, and feelings." Haley muttered, sarcastically.

"And you know what?" Sam asked, slamming his hands down on the table. "Quinn once had sex with a Latina lesbian! Ooo!" He announced, kicking his leg. "Learned that in Glee Club!" Not looking where he was going, he bumped straight into Haley and Quinn who laughed, as they left another unsuccessful recruitment.

----

Walking towards the football pitches, The Unholy Trinity, including Haley chatted as they walked in excitement, wearing cheerleader uniforms. Artie wheeled beside them.

"Lookin' hot girls." Haley whistled, rolling her eyes playfully. Santana laughed, as Brittany frowned and Quinn chuckled.

"Hit it!" Santana said, cuing the band to start their song.

After they finished, the small group of five went around promoting Glee Club.

"You have some great moves, we could really use some of that in the Glee Club." Artie spoke up to a couple of Cheerios.

"Yeah you could." Kitty announced. She smiled, clearly irritated. "Oh, hi Artie."

"Kitty! Where have you been? I thought Sue made all the New Directions transfer out of McKinley? We need you back." Artie explained, not hearing the sarcasm and annoyance in her voice.

"You really think I'm gonna come back and help you and your stupid Glee Club after the way you treated us? The way you treated me when you went off to college?" She asked, hurt. Her expression disappeared, when she saw Haley. "Haley! Long time, no see. You were incredible as always." She exclaimed, as Haley brought her in for a friendly hug.

"And you as well." Haley smiled.

"Haley was the only one who kept her promise. She kept in touch with me when I was left here." Kitty continued, her annoyed expression back on her face. "Sue didn't make me transfer because she's smart enough to know a team player when she sees one. Unlike Rachel Berry who didn't even know our names."

"Oh I know your name, it's Quinn." Brittany scoffed with a smile.

"I'm Quinn." Quinn called out.

"Liar!" Brittany said, as Haley laughed.

"Look, don't you guys want more than just getting shot out of cannons? Don't you want to be a star?" Santana asked.

"That is rich coming from you, pathetically stuffed back into your Cheerios uniforms again." Kitty said, smirking at Santana who glared at her.

"Can two people try out together?" Two twins, a boy and girl asked.

"Yes!" Haley said. "This is Mason and Madison McCarthy." Haley introduced them to Quinn, Santana, Brittany and Artie.

"Yeah, the three of us tried out together." Quinn said, gesturing to herself, Brittany and Santana.

"Let's go ladies. We have to explain to these two again shum 'Flowers In The Attic' is not a love story to aspire to." Kitty said strutting off, with the flip of her ponytail.

"There wasn't luck, but boy are they good this season." Haley commented, looking on proudly at her team.

"This is all Artie's fault." Brittany muttered.

----

The group had managed to recruit Roderick, a transfer student from Chicago, Jane who was denied acceptance from the Warblers.

"The new and improved Glee Club has officially begun! Introducing our two new members, Jane and Roderick!" Rachel said, delighted to finally begin coaching.

Everybody cheered, while Sam did an impression from 'Field of Dreams', "if you build it, they will come." He said, as Haley laughed.

"Well they better come fast. I mean, I'm sorry, but two members?" Tina asked.

"Shut up Tina." Santana said strolling into the room "There's actually four. As per usual, my sexual magnetism has worked yet again. LAdies and gentlemen, this is Mason and Madison McCarthy."

The twins spoke up, beaming, eager to introduce themselves. "Hey gang! We're super pumped that there's a Glee Club again." Mason started.

"Now we know what you're thinking. They can obviously log roll and kick toss but can they sing?" Madison said.

"Well not to toot our own horns.-"

"Toot! But we've won karaoke night at the Wapakoneta Summer Cheer Camp every year now since we were three. It's in our blood. Our parents met whilst touring with the inspiration, world famous singing group, Up With People." Madison explained.

"Oh dear." Haley muttered.

"No, no, no, no I think I've made a mistake." Santana muttered.

"No, it's okay, you're welcome. I mean, you're gonna have to audition, we have a very rigorous process." Rachel reassured the twins.

"I mean not really, Sugar Motta was literally tone deaf." Tina pointed out.

"But she was hot though." Artie argued, as Haley glared at him.

"I'm actually really happy. This is the start of something really special and I know that most of you just came home for homecoming, not me and Kurt, but we can't tell you how grateful we are for your help." Rachel explained.

As the group went in for a huge group hug, Sam pulled Haley aside.

"Hey, so, I know we've been trying quite a bit, but would you want to try again?" He asked, as she sighed, but smiled.

"Yeah of course. I'm up for it." She smiled up at him, as he looked down at her fondly, wrapping his arms around her.

"Tonight?" He asked.

"Yeah, tonight?" She smirked, as he leaned down and gave her a quick kiss.

She giggled as they joined the group again singing Home.
