SEASON 5 (extra chapter)
Till The End of Time
June 13, 2014-The Wedding
•••••
The day of the wedding had finally rolled around, and both Sam and Haley couldn't be more excited. As Haley stood in front of the mirror, she tried to take deep breaths.
"You look gorgeous Hay." Santana commented, helping her put on the diamond necklace.
"Thanks Tana." Haley responded quietly, looking at the girl who stood looking back at her through the mirror. Her wedding dress was perfect, so she thought. Her brunette hair was pinned in a braided updo, and makeup was done all by Santana and Quinn.
Santana smiled, as she looked over Haley's shoulder, while she clipped the veil on. After a little while, she noticed the calmness in the room. "Hey are you okay?"
"Yeah, you know, I can't believe the day is finally here. I stand here in utter disbelief and right now I'm really stressed, so do you think I could have a few moments to myself?"
"Of course, Hay. Please don't worry, the wedding is going to be fine, you are all ready to go. Just come out when you're ready."
"Yes, I will, don't worry. I'm not running away." Haley said, rolling her eyes, playfully. Santana sighed, and left the room.
As Haley stood looking at herself, trying to calm herself down, a person she didn't really want or expect to see, came in the room.
"Dad. Mom? What the hell are you doing here?" She asked, turning to glare at them.
"Oh, we just came to say we hope your day goes awry." That's all her mom said.
"That's not kind. And why are you even here? You weren't invited." Haley pointed out.
"Now you listen here young lady, you're too immature and childish to be getting married. Whoever you're marrying clearly is marrying you because he feels bad for you. You really don't deserve to be getting married today. What you deserve is pure utter loneliness just like your 9 year old self dealt with over 10 years ago." Her dad ranted, as Haley, attempted to stay calm.
"Okay, well, thanks for your input dad....but I do deserve to be getting married."
"No you don't. You aren't deserving of love, aren't lovable, and we don't approve of you marrying or the guy you're marrying." Her dad said.
"He must be horrible." Her mom added. "And a disappointment just like you."
"You can't make my decisions for me! I'm an adult, I can make my own, thank you very much. I am deserving of love, and you know what? I will always love myself. I was fortunate enough to find the love of my life over three years ago, and he loves me, he accepts me, he's kind to me and the long positive list is very prolonged so I won't continue. But he is a wonderful man. So...I also want to add this: Dad, you were horrible to me. You abused me, you were unkind, you yelled and hit me all the time. Mom you were ignorant and never once did you acknowledge my presence. Thank god I found friends who actually cared, and two parental figures that took me in when you guys were being assholes. It's nice to know you haven't changed. Now get the hell out of here. You aren't invited, and I never want to see either of you ever again!" Haley yelled, causing her parents to flinch.

After her parents had been dealt with, and taken by the police, Haley sighed, taking deep breaths, as she ran out into the gardens to spend some time alone.
"I can do this. None of what they said was true." She tried to raise her spirits by giving herself a positive talk. She made an effort to breathe deeply.
"Hay, what are you doing out here?" Santana asked, walking over to her.
"I just had an encounter with my uninvited parents. Don't worry I kicked them out, and they were taken to the police station." Haley replied, anxiously. "I also wanted to spend some alone time with Finn. He would've been so excited today."
"Okay. Well, he would've said you look gorgeous, or made some dorky comment. How are you feeling about the encounter?" Santana asked, sensing the hurt and stress in her best friend's voice. She tried her best to figure out how to help with her friend's rambling.
"Not the best, but I'm going to be okay. I'm hurt that's all." Haley said, wiping her tears, carefully as to not mess up her makeup.
"You're going to be okay, Hay. Your horrible childhood doesn't define you, neither do your parents. Just take some deep breaths."
After taking a few deep breaths, Haley sighed. "I can do this Santana... I'm ready."
"That's great! Let's go, walk you down that aisle!!" Santana cheered, as Haley laughed softly.
The two girls walked out of the gardens and back into the building, and to the doors where the ceremony was being held.
Haley took some more deep breaths, as she waited for her turn to go in, while Santana went behind her and picked up the train of her dress.
----
As requested by Haley and Sam, Mercedes and Artie sang Can't Help Falling in Love with You as the bridal party walked down the aisle. Quinn with Puck, Mike with Tina, Kitty with Artie, Kurt and Rachel, Marley and Jake, Unique and Brittany. Blaine stood at the front with Sam, and Burt who was marrying them.
The cue for Haley's entrance began. She took a deep breath as she entered, as Santana held the train of her dress as the girls began to make their way down the aisle. Haley smiled softly at everyone who stood up watching her, despite the encounter with her parents earlier.
Sam had been anticipating this day his whole life, and now that it was finally here, he couldn't help but burst internally with excitement. His smile said it all. He locked eyes with Haley as she walked towards him. She laughed when she saw him wink at her.
After her and Santana had made it to the front, Sam helped Haley up the steps. She handed Santana her bouquet before turning back to Sam. He smiled at her, as she smiled back, both being priceless.
"You look beautiful Hay." He whispered, as she laughed softly, clearly blushing.
"You look very handsome, I must admit." She replied, with a smirk
Both of them turned to look at Burt who smiled at the two of them, before he moved onto his speech.
"Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today, to celebrate the genuine love of two loving human beings. Haley, and Sam...I can't formulate in adequate words or encapsulate how incredible it's been to witness both of you grow over the past years. I for one can clearly see that your love for each other is strong, and it gradually grows stronger over the years, no matter the argument or fight, or adversity thrown in your path. You manage to work it out in the end. I can say with complete knowledge and assurance that your love is rare, it's not just genuine, but it's healthy, something every person yearns for. All I can say is, I am very proud of the two of you, and I am anticipating where life will take you in the next few years. Now, you chose to write vows. Sam you may go first." Burt said, as Sam turned to retrieve his vows from Blaine. He chuckled softly as he opened his piece of paper and turned to look down at Haley.

"Haley." He began, as she smiled up at him. "I have to begin this vow by saying that you're my favorite person in the world. You mean the absolute world to me. Every moment I get to spend with you, is worth cherishing. It's something I make sure to not take for granted. I believe that the first time I really saw the real you, and realized I loved you was during our dance at Burt and Carol's wedding three years ago. I saw your beautiful smile and your beautiful eyes. It was when you had tears falling down, that I realized I was truly in love with you. That there wasn't anything I wouldn't do to keep a smile on your face. It was the time I knew I never wanted to upset you, or hurt you, because I knew you could be sensitive and vulnerable. I know, I've hurt you a few times, but I never intend to do it, and never will. I never want to let you down or disappoint you. So I'm making a promise from this day forward, to try to keep that pretty smile on your face. From this day forward, I will also promise to listen to you, to be the person you feel safe around, and can run to, the shoulder to cry on, and the person you can share your accomplishments and best memories with. I love you so much Haley, more than you'll ever know. I loved you before, and that love only continues to grow with every passing day. You are the light of my life, the only person I see in a crowded room of people, I believe that's love. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you, going on adventures, making memories and raising kids in the future. I will do anything for you, without asking for something in return. As long as you'll let me love you, and as long as you'll take me, I'm forever and gratefully yours." Sam finished, as Haley smiled through her tears.
"Oh my god..." She sniffled, turning around to get her vows from Santana. "Let's see if I can get through this without crying, shall we?" She joked, making everyone laugh. She turned to look up at Sam, who sent her an encouraging smile.
"Sam, I feel so fortunate to have met you four years ago, I feel grateful to have spent the last few years by your side, and...I feel so wonderfully blessed to be marrying you today. I am so lucky, and will never take our marriage or you for granted. I remember meeting you, back in sophomore year, in the hallway by the science classroom. I had escaped JBI's traumatizing interview, and was just trying to go ahead with my day. Then you came along, and low and behold, we bumped into each other. I thank whatever god is up there for that sudden encounter, because we wouldn't be where we are today. The first time I knew I loved you was when you tried to comfort me after Holly Holiday had done that umbrella number with us. I got scared, because usually I wasn't comfortable being vulnerable around people. Over the next few months, I fell more and more in love with you. Once we got together, I knew you were the person I could talk to, the shoulder for me to cry on, the person who comforted me and helped me through my struggles. You made me feel safe, accepted and loved. Before I met you I didn't think I was deserving of love, but you came into my life and showed me that I was deserving after all. So thank you for helping me see that I was able to be loved. Speaking on the same topic of love, I really love you. I love you with every single ounce of my existence. I always have, and always will. I love your kindness, your generosity, your loyalty, your acceptance and inclusivity you have for others. I admire your caring and genuine heart, your lovingness, your impressions and your kooky personality. You always know how to crack me up, and for that I'm grateful. You also know the right thing to say, when I or someone is feeling down, and I think that's a gift. It's rare that you meet someone who knows what to say every time. I want you to know that, I'm proud of you, and the man you are becoming, and the dad you get to be to our children one day. They will be so lucky, just as I have been all these years. Thank you for letting me into your life, for always being there for me and understanding me. Thank you for being you, and for choosing me, and allowing me to spend everyday with you. Your the Marshall to my Lily, the Skye to my Sophie, the Jake to my Amy...I could ramble aha. I love you so much, more than you'll ever know." Haley finished, as Sam smiled, both of them crying.
They chuckled as they could hear their family and friends crying as well. Burt even had to wipe some of his own tears from his face before continuing.
"That was beautiful, you guys. I don't think much more needs to be said. You've formulated everything perfectly." Burt said. "Sam Evans, do you take Haley Aldrin to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do." Sam nodded vigorously, causing Haley to chuckle, and almost choke on her tears. He slipped the ring on her finger.
"Haley Aldrin, do you take Sam Evans to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do." She smiled, slipping the ring on his finger, just as he had done with hers.
"So, by the power vested in me, and by the state of Ohio, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss each other."
Haley laughed as Sam pulled her into his arms. They looked at each other lovingly.
"I love you Sam Evans." She whispered, as he dipped her over.
"I love you too, Haley Evans." He said as she laughed, holding her arm around his neck for support.
Everyone clapped and cheered when Sam captured Haley's lips in his, in a passionate and heartfelt kiss.
Both Haley and Sam swore they could hear Tina crying somewhere in the room, but they didn't care. They were too wrapped up in each other to notice. All they felt was love and perpetuating gratefulness.
----
The party was never ending. The music, the food, games, the quality time, catch ups, eating and dancing. It was all perfect, in Haley's opinion. There had been a few performances, and now they were moving on to speeches.
Haley pulled Sam up with her, as they walked to the stage. She grabbed the microphone, and took a deep breath before continuing.
"Hi everyone, we first wanted to thank you all for coming to our wedding. We aren't able to formulate how grateful we are for everyone here tonight. Secondly, we wanted to read this special and bittersweet speech from our former best friend, Finn Hudson. He unfortunately died over a year ago, it broke all of our hearts, but we are thankful to have his speech he wrote prior to his passing, here with us today. So I'm going to read it out loud." Haley said, as she unfolded the speech.
"Haley and Sam, the date is March 23, 2013. I wanted to write this because you just got engaged yesterday, and have already given me the honor of being the best man. I wanted to write this down before I forget all I have to say." Haley laughed softly at Finn's humour. "I remember it so well. Haley. You told me during duets week a few years ago, that you had feelings for Sam, but he was with someone else. It broke my heart because you were struggling to be happy, yet you were also upset. Fast forward a few months, you and Sam are officially together. It's been a journey for the two of you, but I've loved every minute of you guys together. When Sam came to me for my blessing to propose to you back during Thanksgiving, I couldn't refuse. I might just be your biggest shipper! However, Haley, I feel so lucky to have known you the past few years, and to witness your growth and endurance of all the challenges that life threw at you. You have overcome so much and you should be proud. I love you Haley, maybe just as much as Sam does...anyways... Sam, I remember the first time you told me that you had feelings for Haley. It was when we were at the Taco Bell with Holly Holiday. You were torn, and didn't want to jeopardize the friendship, but little did you know that she liked you. I remember trying to give you the best advice, despite being a horrible advice giver. Your guy's love is genuinely beautiful. It was unrequited love at first, but it only transformed into equally shared love. You both mean so much to me. There are no good words to describe how much happiness you both deserve, so here's to a lifetime of it. I love you both." Haley finished reading the letter. She sighed, wiping her tears, letting Sam bring her into a hug, as everyone clapped.
After a little moment of silence, Santana got up to make her speech.
"As some of you know, I'm Santana Lopez, the maid of honor and Haley's best friend, while second because trouts is and always will be her first." She began as everyone laughed. "I am so proud of you Haley, I'm proud of everything you've overcome, the woman you're becoming, and most of all, I'm proud and blessed to be your best friend. We've been through a lot the past few years, but I wouldn't change it for the world. For those of you who don't know Haley very well, let me tell you some things: She's kind, she's genuinely caring, brash, honest, loyal, supportive, encouraging, beautiful, talented, and devoted to helping others. She's one of the luckiest and best people I know. Thank god our paths crossed back in middle school. Witnessing your growth was by far, has been a gift. Now, trouts." Santana said, turning to Sam, who raised his eyebrow at her. "Haley is not to be taken for granted. I know you don't and that's special. Thank you for loving Haley and taking over the main job now. She's special and one of a kind, and clearly, you guys are meant to be together. But... if you ever hurt her or break her heart, auntie snixx will arrive on the bichtown express, and go all Lima Heights on your sorry ass. Got it? Okay!" Santana smiled. "I love you both, and I wish you both nothing but joy and happiness. You both deserve it." She finished, as everyone, including Sam and Haley clapped. Haley ran over to give her a hug. "Thank you Tana. I love you too." Haley whispered.
Blaine took the stage next. "For those of you who don't know, I'm Blaine Anderson. The best man, and Sam and Haley's best friend. I've known these guys for the past few years, and I must admit, some of the best memories I've had have been with these two. They are two of the greatest people you will ever meet, but what is even greater is their love for each other. It is unprecedented and rare, yet it's beautiful. I've been so fortunate to see these two grow and to see their love and appreciation for each other grow as well. Sam, thank you for being one of my best friend's. Your kindness, loyalty and sweetness and smarts never goes unnoticed. Haley, thank you for being my other best friend. Your devotion to me, and your other friends is something I don't take for granted. You are by far, the smartest person I know, and your wit, loyalty, kindness, generosity, sarcasm are immaculate. I love you both. Here's to many more lifetimes of happiness and love, that you are both so deserving of it. To Sam and Haley." Blaine said, raising his glass, as everyone followed.
"Thank you Blaine." Haley muttered as she pulled him into a hug, and Sam did the same. "We love you too." Sam added.
"I guess it's my turn." Carol said as she and Burt took the stage.
"Oh my god." Haley mumbled as she felt tears in her eyes. She leaned against Sam, who wrapped his arms around her.
"Hi, I'm Carol." Carol began "And I'm Burt as you know.." Burt added. "We have been so fortunate to see Haley grow from a young tween, to a strong woman. She was given a difficult childhood, and she struggled, but managed to overcome every adversity that was thrown on her path. For that, we are proud of her. She was very close to Finn, he was like her older brother. He was there for her and she was there for him. Their bond was strong, and they were inseparable. She came into our family a few years ago, after some difficulty at home. And she's like a daughter to us. The daughter I never had. I just feel so grateful. We've loved and raised her like she was our own." Carol said.
"Now, Sam, since I'm like Haley's dad...I'm warning you to watch out for her." Burt began, as everyone chuckled. "I know you will. You have a wonderful and caring heart, and have been there for her always. A memory that sticks out to me is Haley on Valentine's Day, back in 2011. She was upset because she had feelings for you, and you loved someone else. I remember that chat so fondly, and I told her that if you were destined to end up together, you would. And here we stand over three years later. Dreams do come true." Burt finished.
