I cry every time:/

Haley had not slept in two days, nor had she gone to school. She had received a rejection letter in the mail a few days earlier, and that really upset her.

To sum it up, Sam was really worried about her, as was the entire Glee club.

"Do we know if she's okay?" Tina asked, as she stood with Sam and Blaine by the entrance.

"Haven't heard from her...Have you Sam?" Blaine asked.

"No...but I wonder if this has something to do with university acceptance?" Sam muttered, as the door opened.

Haley walked in, wearing her Cheerios uniform and jacket, and her hair was in it's usual high ponytail. However, she was clearly wearing an exaggerated smile as she entered. People might've said she looked happy to be there, and that she was fine, but Sam saw behind that smile. He knew she was upset, and was feeling rejected and exhausted. He needed to talk to her.

"Well, there's your answer right there." Artie said, as he wheeled his chair over to the three.

As Haley walked right past them, Tina and Blaine pushed Sam forward so he would go deal with her.

"Hey, baby." Sam said approaching her as she turned to look at him, smiling.

"Hey." She said, as she frowned when he brought her into a comforting hug. Nonetheless, she wrapped her arms around him in return.

"You know very well, that I know you aren't fine." He whispered, as she pulled away. Sometimes she wondered how he knew she wasn't fine, but she persisted in lying anyways.

"Are you kidding? I'm great!" She said, lying.

"Yeah, well, we will talk later. Clearly you aren't in the mood." Sam said, as they began to walk towards the auditorium for Glee Club.

"Well we'll see about that." She replied, as he sighed.

---

"I have in my hand ladies and gentlemen, our competition for Regionals!" Mr. Schue announced, holding up an envelope.

Everyone clapped and cheered, as he tore the envelope open and began reading to the group. "From North Central High School in Indianapolis, the Hoosierdaddies! And from Our Lady of Perpetual Loneliness in Battle Creek, Michigan, the Nun-touchables!"

"We will win this thing!" Haley cheered, still covering up her upset and sad mood.

"Yes we will! But we still have a lot of work to do." Mr. Schue said.

"Mr. Schue please stop talking." Brittany interjected. "I have an announcement, I regret to inform you that a deadly asteroid is heading our way."

"Wait, didn't we just go through this at Christmas?" Blaine asked.

"Yeah!" Tina said. "And is it true that you two got married?" She asked turning to face Sam, who was looking sadly at Haley.

"Well, kind of." Haley shrugged. "Not for real though, we almost did."

"Shut up Tina and Haley! I'm naming the comet Tubbington-Bopp and it's headed straight for Lima" Brittany said.

"Wait...so is it an asteroid or a comet?" Artie asked.

"It's both." Brittany explained.

"Wouldn't NASA know something about this?" Marley asked, while she raised her hand.

"We can't trust NASA. I mean last month, a meteor exactly like Tubbington-Bopp hit Russia with no warning at all. And when this meteorite hits, I will not be spending time in this room preparing for regionals, I will be spending my last hours making amends with someone I need to get right with, someone I love very much, Lord Tubbinton. So go back to your homes, hide your wife, hide your kids, and hide your wife! McKinley High, I salute you!" Brittany said, before rushing out of the auditorium.

"Well there goes one of our children." Haley muttered.

"I still don't get why you won't let me in, or talk to me." Sam said, as she sighed.

"Because, I'm fine. Totally fine!" Haley said, failing to assure him, as he shook his head.

----

The next day, Haley and Sam were walking to Glee together when Haley stopped.

"Hey, you can go ahead, I just need to go to the bathroom" She said, as he looked at her.

"Are you sure you are okay?" He asked.

"Yes! I don't know why everyone keeps thinking I'm not okay." She said, using air quotes on 'okay'.

"We're worried that's all. I'll be waiting." He assured her, pressing a kiss to her forehead, and walking to the choir room.

---

Haley hadn't even been in the bathroom five minutes when she heard two gunshots go off. She swore that she wasn't okay, and ran and locked herself in a stall.

"Okay, Haley, just breathe..." She began to tell herself. "Breathe, just breathe. Three deep breaths." She muttered, her breathing began to increase as her anxiety creeped in on her.

"Sure you didn't get into Columbia, and you are lying saying you aren't okay, and you just heard two gunshots go off...you don't even know if your friends or boyfriend are okay." She began breathing faster and randomly rambling our emotions and thoughts aloud. As she was panicking, she kept trying to calm herself down.

"I'm totally not fine. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going anywhere." She sobbed, as she tried to keep quiet eventually having to use her jacket to muffle her loud and painful sobs. She wanted Sam, to be with her or someone to be there to give her a hug, and assure her everything was going to be okay.

BACK IN THE CHOIR ROOM:

I have to go." Sam breathed out quietly, trying to head out the door as Mr. Schue and Coach Beiste desperately tried to hold him back. "Haley's out there alone, and I don't even know if she's okay. She has anxiety and she's certainly having an anxiety attack." He rambled.

After he was pushed back into his hiding place beside Blaine, he sobbed some more, before attempting to leave again.

"I have to go. She's all alone, and I know she's scared. I need to get her, and I don't even care." Sam said, as he began screaming, when Mr. Schue held a hand over Sam's mouth.

Everyone watched, their hearts breaking at the pain in Sam's eyes as he struggled and cried while being held back. The reality hit that they could be losing someone special.

"Sam, listen. You're putting everyone's life in danger. Look at them, Katy wouldn't want this okay? Go sit with Blaine and Artie." Coach Beiste said pushing him beside Blaine, who smiled, weakly.

----

After what seemed like eternity, Haley heard the bathroom creak open. She squeezed her eyes shut, as she knew even a tiny noise would give her hiding place away.

"Haley? Are you in here?" She sighed, as she heard Mr. Schue's voice.

Opening her stall, she ran into his arms, still shaking.

"I'm here." She said, as tears ran down her face. "Is everyone okay? Is Sam okay? She asked, quickly.

"Shh, everyone's okay, but they are all worried about you, especially Sam." He reassured her.

Nodding, she followed him back to the choir room.

----

As she entered the choir room, Sam ran up to her engulfing her in a comforting hug. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he had his arms around her waist. She finally felt safe, and let herself cry, as she felt him crying too.

Being the first to pull away, she looked up at him, as he moved the stray hairs out of her eyes. Both of them had tears in their eyes, and the same scared expression.

"I love you so much." She said, crying still.

"I love you Hay." He said, knowing their words weren't enough, and they would talk about this later.

He pulled her back into a hug.

They didn't bother to enjoy the group hug, they ignored the SWAT team when they were allowed to leave, they just didn't break apart. Haley wanted to be in his arms forever, because that's where she felt her safest. He was the person she loved the most.

They became inseparable, holding onto each other at all times, for the rest of the day. They didn't want to let each other go. If Sam was honest, he didn't want to lose her, or even risk the possible chance.

She would've agreed if you'd had asked her, the same question. Both of them thought the same.

----

As Haley was walking down the hallway, Kitty ran to catch up, as both of them looked at each other with tears in their eyes, Kitty spoke up first.

"I'm so sorry!" She cried. "You were right to throw me at the bottom of the pyramid, and make me do the laundry and cleaning. You were right all along." She said, crying in Haley's arms, who surprisingly hugged her back.

"I apologized to Marley, and I'm sorry that I bullied you. I feel terrible. I deserved my punishments and your attacks." She continued, as Haley stopped her.

"I won't let you sit at the bottom of the pyramid or do the laundry and cleaning. You are moving up again, okay?" Haley sniffled, as Kitty nodded.

"Thank you Hay." Kitty said.

"Friends?" She asked, as Kitty smiled.

"Friends." Kitty agreed, smiling through her tears.

----

Haley sat facing her wall in her bedroom. She had been like that when she had gotten home, just wanting to feel safe in the comfort of her bedroom.

She turned when she heard a knock on the door. Sam entered, sending her a small smile, as she moved over, so he could lay down.

As she snuggled into him and laid her head against his chest, he wrapped his arms around her. They sat in silence until he spoke up.

"I was so genuinely scared when I was in the choir room and you were out there all alone. I couldn't stop thinking about you." He sighed, as Haley wiped her tears.

"You were all I thought about too." Haley said.

"I just hated the thought that even if you wanted to get to me you couldn't. I wanted to hold you in my arms, because I knew you were scared, and tell you I love you and that you were going to be okay." Sam explained, his voice shaking.

"I love you so much. We're together, no one managed to get hurt. It's okay." Haley sighed, as Sam kissed her head, before he brought them up to sitting position, to face her.

"Mhm. Now, will you tell me why you were lying and saying you were happy?" He asked, as she wiped her tears that kept falling.

"The reason I was lying, and another reason I missed school was because.. I didn't get into Columbia University. I felt really upset and rejected so I needed time to sit and figure out my validated emotions." Haley explained, as she buried her head into his shoulder, as Sam wrapped his arms around her. "I just felt ashamed, I don't really know, it doesn't feel good...I only have NYU. What happens if I don't get accepted?" She asked aloud.

"Oh, Hay, I'm sorry... Sorry that I kept asking you to tell me what was wrong. I was merely worried about you. I do want you to know that whatever happens, you have me, you can talk to me or cry. I'm here for you. I'll always be here by your side." He assured her.

Haley smiled, for the first time in a week and pressed her lips against his as he slowly laid them down.

"I love you Haley Aldrin." Sam said after they pulled away.

"I love you too, Sam Evans." Haley sighed, in his arms. "I can't wait for that vacation with the Glee kids next week. I think we need it. Spring break and to be away from school." She said as he nodded. He smiled at the prospect of the positive outcome of the proposal next week.

"We definitely deserve it." He said pressing a kiss to her forehead, as she closed her eyes, and smiled.
