《Falling (A Sam Evans Fan Fiction)》Prom-asurus

Haley was in her bio class when she heard what sounded like a xylophone play through the speakers. She looked up from her textbook so she could listen.
"Good morning, McKinley High! First of all, to those of you thoughtful enough to leave maternity gifts outside my office, both I and my unborn child thank you for your lackluster Cracker Barrel and meat-and-cheese medleys, and I'm sure that my trash can will find them delicious. Now it's time to announce this year's Senior Prom Court nominees. Your choices for Prom King are...Rick The Stick Nelson, President Brittany S. Pierce. That's weird. And also, Finn Hudson. And now onto the category we all really care about: Prom Queen." Coach Sylvester said.
"Becky for Prom Queen 2012!" Yelled Becky.
"Miss Gunderson, Santana Lpez, and Quinn Fabray." Sue said.
Haley smiled, because she was happy for her two best friends. However, her happiness was ruined by Becky being upset.
"Becky, Becky, Becky! That's an antique!"
"I was robbed, Coach!"
----
"Okay! A big congrats to all our prom nominees! But, hey, listen up. We are all winners, because Principal Figgins asked New Directions to sing again this year! Come on!" Mr. Schue smiled.
"Fantastic." Puck spoke up sarcastically, as everyone clapped unenthusiastically.
"Alright. Brittany has an announcement."
"Hello, my fellow American. The theme for this year's prom will be..." Brittany paused, using her feet to cue a drum roll, before continuing. "Dinosaurs."
"What?" Haley gasped.
"Sheer genius." Santana commented.
"Thanks. I was inspired by the new girl Joe, who reminds me of a cavewoman. The refreshments will be berries, meat, and rainwater. As you are no doubt aware, the U.S. elections are riddled with corruption. Therefore, to keep the prom elections completely aboveboard, I have appointed Santana, and Quinn to count the ballots. Haley you too." Brittany said.
"What? That makes no sense!" Kurt pleaded.
"Shut it, Richard Simmons. Yes those are my homegirls, but I don't trust Quinn, and you know she doesn't trust me. However, I do trust Haley, the only person probably with intellect in our little group." Santana pointed out.
"We'll keep each other honest." Quinn spoke up.
"You know, it's actually not a bad idea." Mercedes agreed.
"And last but not least...All hair gel has been banned from the prom." Brittany announced.
Haley giggled, at Blaine's shocked expression.
"I'm actually not joking. Hair gel was not invented until almost 30 million years after the Upper Paleolithic Stone Age. And frankly, I don't like the way you look. Therefore, anyone who shows up to prom wearing hair gel will be turned away at the door. I hereby decree this to be the best prom ever."
"Okay. Let's start thinking of...Dinosaur songs." Mr. Schue announced.
----
After Mr. Schue had left, everyone waited in the room, per Rachel's request.
"So Kurt and Baline and I are throwing an anti-prom party." Rachel announced.
"What's an anti-prom party?" Mercedes asked.
"It's a party for those of us who maybe feel a little, you know, disenfranchised by the actual prom. And I got us a hotel room at Lima's best hotel, Red Rooster Express Suite, and everyone's invited."

"You're supporting this?" Quinn asked Finn.
"I'm support her. And I'll be there as soon as I'm done fulfilling my obligations."
"The mood will be celebratory, the food will be catered, the libations will be plentiful, and the dress code will be creative black tie." Kurt explained. Sam was about to jump up, but Haley sent him a look and threw her legs across his lap.
"Optional, optional, optional. And keeping up with the anti-prom theme, everyone is welcome, and unlike the actual prom, which ends at 11:00p.m., ours goes until the wee hours of the night. It's where the fun's at, you guys." Rachel said.
"Okay, how is everyone welcome when this is clearly just a party for you and the two gay Winklevii twinis?" Santana asked, unimpressed.
"Actually, Santana, we've invited most of McKinley's underclassmen."
"Like they are going to show up? Who would pass the prom opportunity?" Haley commented.
"I'm in." Puck said.
"But what about your tradition of trying to spike Coach Sylverster's punch bowl? I almost lost my teeth last time." Artie asked.
"It's impossible. Plus it's a bummer, always failing...At everything." Puck added.
"Can we just talk about what this really is? Rachel Berry isn't getting her way, so she's punishing the rest of us." Santana spoke up again.
"Santana, that's not the case at all." Rachel said, trying to reassure the Latina, who scoffed.
"Stop acting like you're fine and start dealing with your crap. Look, you choked at your big audition. I get it. I'm sorry, but it happens. And I understand that you're pissed off at the universe, but imploding on one of the last nights that we have to spend together because, basically, you're just not in the mood to dance is maybe the pettiest thing you have ever done. So have fun at your 'I'm a victim' party, acting like you're not some selfish, self-centred, lame-ass wannabe diva from hell, because me? I'm going to go to my senior prom with my girlfriend, and my friends." Santana ranted, leaving with Brittany
Haley stood up, pulling Sam with her, before turning to look at Rachel. "I'm with Santana on this one Berry. You're nothing but a self centred, egotistical and arrogant diva. Next time, consider everyone's feelings, they aren't in the same emotional state as you. Brittany feels horrible now, let that sink in and...Have fun throwing your pity party." She finished as her and Sam walked out.
----
Haley sighed as she got ready. She got into her Kurt and Santana approved rose gold halter gown, while her makeup and hair was all done. Lastly, she slipped on a gold necklace, and her heels since she was only 5'1 ½ . She made at least 20 trips to the mirror, because she wanted everything to go well.
"Honey, Sam's here." Carol called, up the stairs to her.
"Coming!" She yelled back.
Sam was waiting at the bottom, chatting with Carol, when they heard Haley speak.
"How do I look? Do I look okay?" Haley asked, as she began walking down the stairs, part of her dress skirt lifted with one hand.

"You look absolutely stunning. I don't even know how you manage." He complimented her, as she blushed. He smiled as he leaned down to give her a quick kiss. When he pulled away, he showed her the box holding the corsage.
"It's beautiful Sam. I love it so much, I love you." She smiled at him.
He smiled when she said that looking into her eyes, as he helped her down the final steps. " I love you too, Haley."
They kissed again, before chatting, taking some cheesy photos, and heading out the door.
"Let's go party!!" Haley squealed, excitedly, as Sam looked at her fondly.
----
Haley couldn't help but blush at Sam the whole time he and the other 4 New Direction boys sang What Makes You Beautiful as Haley laughed and danced with Brittany and Santana. She was sure to include Quinn, after what had gone down a few minutes earlier.
After her and Sam had danced for a bit, they went to the stage to sing their duet.
"You ready?" Haley asked, sending Sam a smile.
"Yes!" He smiled back.
{WHERE YOU ARE-SUNG BY HALEY ALDRIN & SAM EVANS}
After they finished, Haley smiled at everyone, before looking at Sam.
"I love you." She mouthed as they got off stage.
"I love you too." He mouthed backed, sending her a smirk.
As they were dancing again, Santana approached the two holding the ballots.
"Haley, sorry to interrupt you and your Trouts, but we have to go count the ballots."
"Oh, okay, I'll be back in a bit." Haley told Sam, before kissing his cheek, and running off after Santana.
----
"Okay, so we each have a pile. We will compare and see if the numbers match. We will add them up to find out the winners. Deal?" Haley asked.
"Deal." Santana and Quinn chorused.
During the next 20 minutes, the girls sorted through their individual piles, and Haley collected the ballot numbers and continued to sum them up.
"So, all the numbers match." Haley announced.
"I still don't get how Britt only got four votes...How?! This Dino theme was ingenious." Santana commented.
"Maybe it has something to do with the fact, she's a girl?" Quinn suggested.
"Well, screw this. I don't want to be Queen if Britt isn't King."
"Girls... Quinn won by one vote." Haley spoke up.
Quinn didn't react the way Haley expected her to. "I won." she said aloud, several times. I won and I don't feel any different."
"Oh Q." Haley sighed, deciding to save her whole rant on labels and popularity for another time.
"Cool. I mean, I guess you deserve to win, right? What with being a crip and all." Santana said.
"You know, we really have had the dream high school careers. Mega-popular, doing whatever we wanted. Whoever we wanted. You know, I'm really not surprised that you and I were the top two candidates, Satnana. And Brittany was nominated a candidate for king. I mean, in what world would that happen?" Quinn asked, before adding. "Plus we all know that Haley will be the most reasonable candidate for prom Queen next year."
"Yeah, it would be boring if we weren't so awesome." Santana added.
"Don't you want to leave this place having made a difference?" Quinn asked, as her and Haley looked towards Santana.
----
"First I have an announcement to make. There are reptiles living in McKinley toilets no more. The family of snakes has been safely removed to the zoo, and they can live out their lives in the toilets there." Principal Figgins announced.
"Holy....Sh-Snakeeee." Haley muttered, causing Santana and Quinn to giggle.
'And now, this year's Prom Court. Nominees for the Prom King are: Finn Hudson...Rick The Stick Nelson...And President Brittany S. Pierce." The nominees for Prom Queen: Missy Guderson...Santana Lpez...And Miss Quinn Fabray."
Haley and Santana both helped Quinn to the stage, as Santana and Quinn went to stand in their places. Haley went and stood by Sam, who smiled down at her, as she smiled back.
"I would like to invite last years' queen, sassy male student Kurt Hummel, to crown this year's winners." Kurt went up to help crown the candidates.
"And this year's Prom King is...Finn Hudson." Everyone clapped or cheered as Finn was crowned Prom King.
"Yeah, Finn!" Haley called out, receiving a smirk from him.
"And the winner for Prom Queen is..." Principal Figgins paused, as Haley let out an anxious breath. "Students, for the second year in a row, we have anarchy. Receiving the majority of write-in votes, I would like to welcome on the stage...Miss Rachel Berry."
Rachel looked shocked. "Is this some prank or joke?" She whispered to Haley, who shook her head. "No, Berry it isn't. Go, go, go!" She gave Rachel a push to the stage.
"McKinley Titans, bow down to your new leaders!" Principal Figgins announced. "And now...The first dance of this year's Senior King and Queen!"
Quinn and Santana took the stage, singing Take My Breath Away.
While they sang, Haley danced the night in Sam's arms, as she sighed before looking up at him.
"Funny, we only have one prom left, and then we're off to New York. Crazy, huh?" She asked.
"Wild, but cool." He agreed, smiling, as he leaned down to kiss her. After they pulled away, they gasped at the sight before them.
Quinn Fabray was able to stand again and Haley couldn't be more happier and proud. "Yeah QUINN!!" Haley cheered, starting the applause.
"It's a prom miracle." Sam added.
As soon as the song was over, Haley walked up to the stage to give her bff's a hug. I'm so fucking proud of you Quinn." She whispered, as Quinn giggled. "Look at you! You still got applause. You can be a freakin goddess and queen without the crown." Haley pointed out.
