"When are you gonna go to bed?" Dan ever so lightly asks while he hugs I toy he white wooden door frame.
"In a little while." Charlie replies while gently rocking the temporary white crib with Lacey slowly falling asleep inside.
Since she's been out for majority of the afternoon and night, Charlie wants some time with her daughter. Kyle missed out on the premiere, but he loved spending every second with Lacey. Both Dan and Charlie know that if they was to pick a godfather for her...it's definitely Kyle.
They haven't really discussed it yet...
In the silence Dan nods his head before inviting himself into the spare room. "How is she?" He asks while looking over Charlie's shoulder and smiling at Lacey, who immediately smiles back.
Charlie doesn't mind their relationship, in fact she envy's them. Just like how Charlie was...Lacey is daddies girl.
"Apparently she was a little bit sick, but Kyle said he accidentally gave her two bottles instead of one." Dan nods his head.
"And how are you?" Dan then hold's onto Charlie's waist while she smiles knowing that Dan is trying to do, although tonight she isn't in the mood. She just wants to be with her family.
"I feel a little weird, like I want to throw up...but then I don't" — Dan's eyes widen as he thinks it might be a sign, but even without looking at her husband Charlie shakes her head — "I think it's because the club was stuffy. That, and we didn't really have a dinner." They skipped out on dinner due to nerves. They didn't know how people would react to their film...
"Should we get room service? I mean...it's our wedding night after all." Dan sighs as he reminds himself that most couples would have a 'romantic' evening. But Charlie laughs at his expense.

"No offence or anything...but fucking you is becoming a chore." Dan is offended. And who wouldn't be? But Chsrlie laughs what she has just said off, although there's some truth.
"I mean...let's have a nice night. Me, you...this one..." Charlie's voice trails off while she makes a funny face at Lacey. The little girl is barely awake but she still manages to smile.
"We can get loads of food and watch movies until the morning. Let's break the cliché stigma that 'all couples have to fuck'."
"But we have to if you want to give Lace...company..." Dan's now using the excuse of more kids, which still tickles Charlie. She knows Dan is a guy who is pretty textbook with his life, but she wants to introduce him to her crazy world.
"That can wait for one night. These things can take years anyway. Let's just...do shit that we love to do, okay?" Dan reluctantly nods his head before Charlie quickly jumps up and down.
"Go and order a ton of food while I have a real quick shower. I need to take all this shit off." Charlie points to her face which has been stained with makeup.
Dan nods his head with a smile whilst he literally moves Charlie out of the way and picks his daughter up, which completely wakes her up. But she doesn't cry or make any sound whatsoever.
"I was literally trying to get her to go to sleep, you know that's why she was in here right?" Confusedly, Charlie point to Lacey's crib. Dan on the other hand nods his head which angers Charlie to say the least.
"So if you're nodding your head then that means you knew what I was doing...and you still picked her up because..." Dan then shrugs back his shoulders while Charlie shakes her head.

"You're so fucking weird, you know that right?" Dan shrugs before a smile appears on his face.
"What's so weird about spending some quality time with my daughter?" He says lightly while kissing Lacey on the cheek. Charlie shakes her head with a smile whilst pointing to the door.
"Remember not to feed her, okay?" Charlie says as she reaches her arm out and strokes Lacey's cheek while Dan nods his head.
"Yeah, I know." Charlie then gives Dan a scolding look since she's still pissed off that Dan woke Lacey up, and then quickly walks out of the room. Leaving Dan standing besides Lacey's cot in the dim golden glow of the lamp.
In a moment of boredom Lacey then rests her again against Dan's shoulder and sighs which humours Dan, "mummy makes me feel that way sometimes too." He laughs as soon a she hears the water turn on.
"Let's go and order some dinner, ay?" Dan tilts his head little so he sees Lacey tiredly biting her finger
"Aw no..." Dan laughs while he holds her arm and pulls it away from her mouth. He knows that if Lacey picked up a nasty bug then Charlie would most likely go into frenzy and make herself depressed. Lacey is her everything, she has a hard time stomaching leaving her alone in her nursery...but Dan's reassurance that 'everything will be okay' helps. His reassurance, and of course, their baby monitor...
"Where the fuck is Rhino?" Dan mumbles under his breath whilst trying to find Lacey's soft toy to keep her preoccupied while he'll phone for room service.

This book is on hiatus and will resume soon.Every hero has their legend. An epic tale of the trials and tribulations that they overcame. These stories will remain long since they’ve departed, cementing their legacy in the annals of history. In the shadows of these glorious heroes, the Librarian observes. Unseen and unnoticed, he records their tales. The System’s power guides him forward, an unending search for his true purpose. Through the myriad of fantasy worlds, a dark truth is hidden from all. As the hundredth successor takes the mantle, the seems of their plot will begin to unravel. This is the standalone sequel to my first book, Colossus’ Dream. Reading the first book is not required. Both books share a universe and plot threads, but they can be read and understood independently from each other.
