《RWBY: Godzilla》Trust

I thought the peace would stay.
I should've known better. The bullying never stopped. In fact, Cardin just got worse. He was relentless in his teasing. He always gave the excuse of it being a "just a joke". But I knew he was lying. It was pretty obvious. There as a clear hatred whenever he looked at (Y/N), and an even more clear joy and satisfaction when he abused him.
I never stopped defending him. I got more protective, staying by him every second. But every day, he seemed to get more and more anti-social, and more and more upset leaving the room. The only thing that increased in him that I was happy with, was his attachment to me.
Every day, he would stay with me more. It got to the point where he didn't like separating from me. And not just being in separate rooms, he didn't like being just a few steps away from me. My friends tried to tell him to give me personal space, but I always told them I didn't care.
I loved it when he was close to me. I could practically cuddle with him every second. That seemed to make things even better for him. He seemed to calm down whenever I just held his arm.
The only teacher to stand up for him was Doctor Oobleck.
We were in his class one day, and Oobleck came in.
"Good morning, everyone," he said. "Now, I believe most of you are aware that our young student (Y/N) here is a rare species of faunus."
No response.
(Y/N) sighed, knowing everyone was thinking rude things about him.
I held his hand, and smiled at him. To reassure him, I looked up at Oobleck.
"I know!" she said. "And I think it makes him really special!"
Oobleck smiled at me. "In that case, would you like for me to discuss the history of the Godzilla?"
I gasped. "I'd love to learn more about his kind!"
Oobleck smiled. "Good. Because that is today's lesson."
I grew excited.
"I'm going to learn more about you!" I whispered to (Y/N).
He smiled. "To be honest, I don't even know that much about me either. This should be interesting."
He began his lecture on Godzilla.
"The Godzilla was a race of ancient creatures," he explained. "They were enormous beasts that roamed Remnant. Unlike most creatures, Godzilla had personalities. Some were evil..."
He pulled up an image on the projector.
"Some were heroic..."
He pulled up another image.
"And some were just trying to survive, leading to them attacking humans, or unintentionally defending them..."
He pulled up another image.
"The most dangerous Godzilla was this one," he said, pulling up another image.

This one scared me the most.
"This Godzilla was pure evil," Oobleck continued. "He nearly wiped out humanity. It was only thanks to the efforts of a man named Ozma that he was killed."
I could hear Cardin whisper to (Y/N), "He's almost as ugly as you."
I was going to say something, when Oobleck spoke up.
"Cardin, if you don't stay quiet and leave (Y/N) alone, you will be in detention."
Cardin stopped talking, and gave (Y/N) a death glare.
Oobleck continued. "After his attacks, all Godzillas were executed. All but one. This one Godzilla was the only one to defend humanity intentionally. In order to keep him from hurting anyone, he was transformed into a faunus. He agreed to continue aiding humanity, using the abilities he'd kept in his Godzilla form. His genes have passed down through all his descendants, and they have all become Godzilla faunus' themselves. Supposedly, a Godzilla faunus can break free of its faunus form and transform back into their true form. But, if this is true, then it has been forbidden for any of them to transform, otherwise they won't be able to change back, and will be considered a threat, and shall be killed on the spot."
(Y/N) seemed intrigued, and I was too. We were both interested in this story, and I felt proud to know (Y/N) was the descendant of the only Godzilla to intentionally protect people. I hoped he would end up the same way, and I could fight by his side.
Soon, class ended. Cardin left without speaking to (Y/N), but I knew he was going to attack. So I stayed close, my hand on my scroll in case I had to call my locker for Crescent Rose.
"Mr. (L/N)!" Oobleck called.
We turned around.
"I would like to speak with you," he said.
(Y/N) and I glanced at each other, wondering if he was in trouble. We started to walk back into the class.
"Alone," Oobleck said.
I started to feel disappointed. I wanted to be with (Y/N). I didn't want to leave his side.
Then, he gripped my hand.
"I-I-I can't," he stuttered.
I could feel myself heating up as he said that.
Oobleck was visibly confused.
"I-I-I'm just not comfortable when she isn't around," he said.
Oobleck nodded. "I understand."
With that, we walked over to him. I hoped this would be long enough to force Team CRDL to stop waiting for us, if they were still there.
"Did he do something wrong?" I asked.
"Not at all," Oobleck answered. "I just have some things I want to say to him."
"Okay," (Y/N) said. "I'm listening."

Oobleck started. "I know you've been going through a lot. I know you've been bullied for your rare faunus traits. And I know that you have been gaining a desire to kill because of it."
I was shocked at that last part. "(Y/N) would never kill anyone! Right, (Y/N)?"
I looked up at him, and I realized he was looking at the floor. The look on his face scared me.
He looked ashamed.
"Right?" I said.
"I wouldn't," he said. "But... I've thought about it."
I was shocked. I pulled him into a hug. "Please don't do that!" I pleaded. "We don't know what they will do to you if you hurt someone!"
"As I suspected," Oobleck said, adjusting his glasses. "I understand that you also don't want to hurt anyone, do you?"
He shook his head. "Absolutely not."
I was relieved. But before I could say anything, Oobleck continued.
"Good," he said. "But I know that if they continue, you will get worse. You will lose your self-control, and you will try to hurt someone. So I want to remind you that you are important here. And, as I can tell, you are important to Ruby here."
(Y/N) looked at me for a moment, and back at Oobleck.
"If you start to think everything is hopeless, you can talk to Ruby," Oobleck said. "Or, you can talk to me."
"You?" (Y/N) said. "Why do you trust me? You know about my desires, and you know what the other Godzilla did."
"I know," Oobleck said. "But I also know that you have a kind heart, and you don't want to let your ancestors down. I trust you, (Y/N). Let me show you how much."
We were immediately confused as he zipped to the door.
"Follow me," he said, opening it.
We looked at each other for a moment. I shrugged, and we followed.
As we left, we saw Team CRDL standing outside, obviously waiting for us. When they saw Oobleck, Cardin immediately sneered, and they left.
We followed Oobleck to his lab.
He'd never let anyone in here before. It was nice to know he trusted us. Or, at least him. I was only there because I had to be.
We walked passed an aquarium, filled with different kinds of fish. I watched them for a moment. They were kind of cute.
Oobleck stepped up to the aquarium, holding a small, metal ball. He was wearing rubber gloves. He held the ball over the aquarium, and dropped it in.
I started to grow worried for the fish, and I watched them, my heart aching with fear.
Oobleck pulled a lever on the wall, and the ball started to make a strange, high-pitched noise. Holes opened up in it, and bubbles went flying out.
I stepped closer to the aquarium, concerned for what I was watching.
"Step back!" Oobleck warned, pulling (Y/N) and me back.
I watched the aquarium in fearful anticipation. Then, right before my eyes, their skin dissolved, leaving their skeletons, which eventually dissolved along with their skin.
I gasped, and covered my mouth with both hands in complete horror. (Y/N) just stared, wide-eyed.
Oobleck walked over to a chair, and took a seat, looking ashamed.
"What did you do?" (Y/N) asked, neither of us taking our eyes away from the aquarium.
"I destroyed all the oxygen in the water," Oobleck explained.
"How could you make something like that?" I said turning to Oobleck.
"I didn't mean to," Oobleck said. "I was just experimenting on oxygen, and it led to me making that. The Oxygen Destroyer. I was horrified when I saw the results of my creation. I couldn't eat or sleep for days."
"Why did you keep it a secret?" I asked.
"Could you imagine the results of this?" Oobleck said. "If there was some sort of war, it could be used as a weapon. Can you imagine how many people could be killed? More than just enemy forces, but an entire civilization. It could lead to extinction."
I nodded in understanding.
"Which is why, until I find a use for it, I will never reveal the Oxygen Destroyer," Oobleck said.
"Then why did you show us?" I asked.
"Because I trust you two," Oobleck said. "Though I wasn't going to show you, Ruby, I do trust that you won't tell anyone about this. Not even your own teammates."
I was never good at keeping secrets. It just made me shake. But I was sure (Y/N) would come up with an excuse. He was a much better liar than me.
"I'm not the best at keeping secrets," I admitted. "But I'm sure (Y/N) can help with that."
Oobleck smiled. "I'm trusting you guys with this. Don't tell anyone about it. I don't want to cause chaos."
(Y/N) and I nodded.
Oobleck led us back to our dorm, just to make sure we weren't ambushed by Cardin and his team.
It was difficult keeping it a secret, especially since the others asked me where we went. (Y/N) answered all the questions, and I agreed with everything he said. When they stopped asking, it was a lot easier to keep the Oxygen Destroyer a secret. All I had to do was not bring it up.
But my hatred of it compares nothing to how much I hate it now.

P.A.R.A.D.O.X. PROJECT: Aeon Genesis
The first project focusing on four protagonists within the same world set around fictional 14th-century Europe. This is the first P.A.R.A.D.O.X. PROJECT focusing on 3 (+1) protagonists within the same world set around fictional 14th-century-esque Europe. Each story has its own protagonists (Male or Female Lead), genres (mainly Western Fantasy), and can be read as a standalone. Status: OngoingUpdate(s) per week: 1Words per chapter: 3000 - 6000 *** ‘A human or not; a king or a servant; hope or despair; a hero or a villain.’ Depending on one's perspective and how each story portrays, one will view an individual or a group as evil or virtuous. Because of that, it depends on the reader and listener to believe which one is the truth. More people read and trust multiple (trusted?) sources that either complement or contradict one another. The contradiction becomes the source of debates between those who believe and those who don’t. From that difference in belief, two groups appear: The Majority and The Minority. The majority, having more people, suppress the minorities’ beliefs, claiming theirs, the majorities’, to be the truth. However, the majority are not only composed solely of those who share the same belief but also those who know the truth but afraid to admit it. They have to keep quiet and turn a blind eye for their safety. The majority had to submit to those with power and authority. With the majority under control, those with power and authority can create, manipulate, and/or fabricate truth and lies by force. The reason was for one’s or group’s personal benefits. In the end, there is no such thing as ‘absolute truth’; only sugar-coated lies created by the top. Don’t believe me? It is up to you to decide. Go and read it yourself.
