Lexus almost never made eye contact with me. Every now and then she would look at me but when I looked at her she snapped her head back. The past few days had been rough, but I felt confident knowing Nico was safe at district 12. My heart raced, we had our examinations today and I had no idea what I would do. I could show my rapid healing, or my whistle, I could do archery, which was probably my best bet. I was put in a simple black pants and a shirt with a 6 on the back.

"Hey Will, wait up." I got used to going down to the training arena alone so I hadn't expected Lexus to come running after me. "I need to tell you something before tomorrow."

"Go on then, I'm listening." She was wearing a similar outfit to me just made for a girl.

"The reason I was so snappy and have been ignoring you is because... well you protected my brother and I don't want to get attached to you in case I have to kill you, but it's not working." She looks away, I know how she feels, the only person safe during this is Nico, and when it comes down to it, will I be able to kill my friends? The answer was no, we could start the revolution early, right? Was there a revolution? Why didn't I listen to Piper?

"Yeah, I get it, I don't know if I could kill you if we were the last two..." I say, we started to slow down around floor 4, Percy and Annabeth.

"We'd starve, or kill ourselves, something that could let us both out alive. Welp, here's your buddies, what was it about not joining the careers?" She mocks right before the elevator opened to the one person who could help us all make it out alive... but why would she want be to make it out?

"Hello, are you two on your way for some final training?" Annabeth says, I start to think of what has happened that cause her to be able to stay in character and hide what she is really thinking. Then I remember, 6 months without the love of your life would ruin you and everything you have hoped for, she hid her emotions almost that whole time, and no one knew.

"Yes, no doubt you two will score high, Percy has the looks and you have the skills." I say, Percy looks shocked.

"Excuse me! I can cancel this alli-" Annabeth cuts him off but too late.

"So you are in an alliance with the careers? I changed my mind! It will be easy to kill you!" Lexus runs out of the elevator at the bottom floor and I just glared at Percy, daring him to try me one more time.
