《Demugad In The Battee of Blood》HAZEL... LEVESQUE

I'm close to the middle of the female group, Frank was farther back in the male group with people about his age. I wasn't being fully true whenever I said that I hadn't read The Hunger Games, I read the first half before I got bored. Never did I think that reading the book would help me, boy was I wrong. I knew the younger tributes were sent to the front and older to the back.

The escort was a man, he had a swirly beard like a drill. All his hair was dyed bright green and his skin was dyed an orange tan color, almost like celestial bronze. He looked like a chia pet gone wrong.

"Hello I am Augustus, like always I will pick the female tribute first." He scurries over, his shoes making a clicking noise like a horse galloping. I think of Arion, it was funny seeing everyone get motion sickness on him. I turn my attention back to Augustus, this his arm was feeling the bottom of the bowl, he grabbed one.

"The female tribute is Oaklynn Cedar." A girl from the very front of the crowd with bright red hair starts to step out. A twelve year old, I look at the terror in her eyes as she glances back trying to see her mom or dad, or just anyone to let her know it was ok. She had her hair in low pig tails, her spirit seemed to be dragging behind her. No one volunteers, not an older sister or a cousin. I see her pull a pig tail to the front of her body.

"I volunteer as tribute." I say, stunned. I look down at the ground to see a few diamonds and some rubies. I try to focus and hide them before I walk out to the open lane in the middle of the crowd. "I volunteer." I reassure the girl, and partially myself. I run up to the girl, there were tears in her eyes.

"Thank you miss." She says, a tear running down her face.

"Call me Hazel." I say wiping away the tear.

"Hazel, I hope you win." She goes back to her place in line. I stand up onto the stage.

"Now what is your name miss?" Augustus asks me.

"Hazel... Levesque." I am here now, about to have to leave and kill people for my survival. But I will make it out...somehow.
