Bee is insistent, I can tell you that much. We are walking to the school house, which was pretty small and bare considering how much kids I saw walking the streets. Bee was telling me that only the people with businesses in the middle of town and the mayor have enough money to let their children finish school. Of course I had to pretend like I already knew this. Bee was the only girl left in our grade. All the others had been sent to the coal plant, which was a weird place, all they did was make sure the coal was clean. She was very insistent about me going to school instead of working in the mines.
"How many times is your name in the pool?" I say to her while walking to our home room, I was lucky enough to have her in at least one class.
"14... not as much as most people. I still have a higher chance than 12 year olds and some 13 year olds."
After school we started walking back to their house. "Wanna sneak out to the woods?" She says.
"But the fence... it will kill us."
"Oh you still believe that? We only get an hour of good electricity and the rest is barely enough to keep the lights in the buildings on."
"Ok, I'm fine with that. Want to get any weapons to hunt if we come across anything?" She shakes her head and gives a smug smile.
We easily get to the fence, I had shadow traveled in, but Will doesn't need to know that. She makes me be quiet and she puts her ear close to the fence. Since she decides to immediately go between the wire with no hesitation I'm guessing the fence was off. I follow her lead and soon her pace as she quickens her pace. She dodged limbs and rocks like she has done this a million times, if I didn't have demigod training I probably wouldn't have been able to keep up. She stops and hides behind a huge rock. Did she see a peacekeeper? But that thought leaves my mind as soon as peaks over the rock and tells me to do the same. It's a clearing with a bunch of horses prancing around. I start to laugh and she questions why I do so. I was thinking of the party ponies.

"Why did you bring me to horses?" I say, I know this may be a strange thing to her, but I have seen much more strange.
"They aren't horses... that's the thing." I decide to take another look and realize that some have wings and some have horns. Their unicorns and pegasi, I have seen many of these in the past, but not in the wild.
One of them, which has a stronger aura of life than the others looks up at our direction. Specifically me. This one was winged, and was the purest white that there could be. "Pegasus..." I mumble, I wouldn't have noticed that I even said anything if Bee didn't look at me.
"Who?"
"Oh, nothing, those are pegasi and unicorns. And the big white one looking at us... that's their leader, his name is Pegasus... I mean the winged ones are called pegasusses... but he's THE Pegasus." The mention of his name brings him closer to us. I wish Percy was here... he would be able to talk to him... but then again he's his brother. And so I stood their, the lord of pegasi walking towards me.

The Adventures of Alan
What happens when a university professor somehow ends up in another world, where magic bends the laws of nature? Alan is, albeit unwillingly, about to find out. As a professor of physics, he has a decent understanding of how the world works, or so he likes to think. Armed only with his knowledge, Alan is thrown into a world very different from his own. In his new reality, he will meet both friends and foe, he will seek knowledge, he will build power, and perhaps he will even find love again? Follow Alan through his adventures, and find out for yourselves how he deals with the challenges thrown at him by a new world, while struggling with the issues brought with him from his old one. * Author’s note: A fair warning. This is the first time I’ve published anything, and basically the first time I’ve written anything more than mandatory school-stuff. The story will probably have inconsistencies, grammatical errors (not my native tongue, though that excuse is getting old), and potentially confusing (missing?) plot. I will naturally do my best to write something worth reading, but my main goal in writing this story is to have fun and explore the limits of my own creativity. My hope in publishing it here, is that I’ll reach someone who enjoy the story, and can push me forward towards writing more, as it is difficult at times to find the motivation to write just for myself. Additionally, I can’t really promise to have regular updates, as I have a full-time job that often likes to take the ‘full-time’ part literally, and a sporadic social life that occasionally surprises me (happy surprises mostly, so I shouldn’t complain). I’ll aim for once a week to start with, and take it from there. Happy reading! Cover photo by Jeff Hire (/photographer/gun4hire-58415), from https://freeimages.com/.
