"But why would someone do that? I don't get it." My mom cried.

"He was a good man! Who cuts someone's head off and mail it to the wife?" She continued to cry as I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. Ignoring it I tried pulling her into a hug but she pulled away.

Hearing the sound of the door bell I waddled to the door opening it. "How are you feeling?" Was the first thing Danielle said and immediately the tears started to fall again.

Even though me and my dad wasn't in a good place I didn't want him to die. Then to have someone send his head in a box on ice to my moms door step is sick.

"E you gon be good." I heard Baby say as we walked into the living room where my mom and Kross were.

"What are they doing here?" She asked with an attitude causing me to roll my eyes.

"Why else? He was our family as well." Danielle spoke up as my mom rolled her eyes.

"Please, he barely talked to you and your son. He would not want you guys here!" My mom said causing me to look at her. Was she really doing this right now.

"Mom." I said as she looked at me. "What? Emerald, I don't even know why you called them over here." She said.

"Because that's his father just as much as he's mine! And she was his wife! They care about him just like we do." I said as my mother waved me off.

"None sense, I don't want these people in my house so you can take them and all ya can leave." She said as I just stood there.

"Why are you like this? What is your issue? My father, our father just died! I want to be with all of you! Why are you making everything so difficult? That's all you ever do!" I yelled as she rolled her eyes as if she was unbothered.

"Um Emerald." I heard Kross say causing me to look at him.

"You peeing on yourself?" He asked pointing down causing me to look at the puddle I was now standing in.

"Oh my gosh! Your water broke!" Danielle laughed as I continued looking down. I didn't even feel myself pee on my self.

"Great you messed up my marble floors." My mother said as I leaned over feeling a sharp pain in my stomach.

"You good?" Kross asked as I shook my head no. "It hurts." I said not able to bear the pain.

"Take deep breaths." I heard Danielle said as I looked down noticing blood.

"I'm, I'm bleeding." I pointed down feeling myself become dizzy.

"Look who's awake." I heard as I opened my eyes closing them from the light.

"How are you feeling?" Danielle asked as I nodded my head trying to clear my throat. "Here drink some water." She said putting the straw between my lip

"My baby!" I said immediately touching my stomach and the monitors sound started beeping faster.

"Calm down, she's okay." Danielle said and I nodded my head realizing she said 'she'

"I thought I was having a boy," i said trying to sit up on my own but I couldn't.

"Nope, it's a little girl. She's so pretty." Danielle said as I looked around the room and noticed it was just her and Kross in here.

"Where's my mom?" I asked as both Danielle and Kross remained quiet letting me know she ain't come.

Her first grandchild and you would think she would want to be here. "She's dealing with your dads death." Danielle finally spoke as I just shook my head. Here she is making excuses for my mom as if my mom wasn't being nasty to her a few hours ago.

"You don't have to sit here and make excuses for her. When can I see the baby?" I asked changing the subject.

"Let me go ask the nurses." Danielle said leaving me and Kross alone.

"How you feel?" He asked getting up kissing my forehead as I shrugged my shoulders.

"I thought I was bout to loose ya. Scared me. Our lil girl a real g." He said as I nodded my head.

"How long was I out for?" I asked him just as he was about to say something in walked Kimberly and Vee with birthday balloons.

"ITS A REAL BITCH BIRTHDAYYYY!" VEE came in shouting being loud as usual.

"How ya even get up here? Visiting hours over. Being loud and shit." Kross said as Vee sucked her teeth.

"Boy fuck you. It's my bitch birthday of course I was seeing her at 12." Vee said walking giving me a hug. They still ain't really like each other. I thought it was funny.

"Happy birthday sissy." Kimberly said as I smiled.

"Thank you." I told them trying to sit up. I had completely forgot about my birthday, beteeen my dad and the baby it didn't even cross my mind.

"You and Baby K almost have the same birthday! That's so cute!" Vee shouted as I heard a knock on the door.

"I heard you were awake, how are you feeling?" The doctor asked as I shrugged my shoulders.

"You had lost a lot of blood. Thankfully you and your brother were a match. He was able to donate." The doctor said and I noticed Baby wasn't here.

"He went to get you some food. Dani texted and told us you were awake and he figured you be hungry." Vee said as I nodded my head.

"Can I see my baby?" I asked as the doctor nodded his head.

"Yea the nurse is bringing her down. Even though she was a couple of weeks early she is perfectly healthy." He said as I nodded my head.

"Do you guys have any names for her?" He asked as I looked over at Kross. We hadn't thought of no girl names since we thought we was having a boy.

"No we only have boy names." I said sighing as Kross cleared his throat.

"Fuck it, let's keep it Karter. Karter Amani King." He said causing me to smile.

"That's cute!" Kim said as Vee sucked her teeth. "It's cute he ain't come up with it by himself." She said looking at him as he grilled her.

"Nigga we came up with it together." He said pointing towards me.

"Okay well I'll go get the paper work and her comes the little one." The doctor said as a Nurse and Dani came pushing the little crib the baby was in.

"Hi mom, ready to hold your precious Angel?" She asked as I nodded my head.

"Oh my gosh! Em she is so freaking adorable!" Kim said as I felt tears coming down my eyes.

"Yea we did that." Kross said kissing the side of my head.

I can't believe I was a whole mom now. "Thank you." I said looking up at Kross. He had gave me the best birthday present ever.
