"Bitch ass niggas." I mumbled as I watched this Meek nigga walk to his car. For the past week I had been watching his every moved. It didn't take long to either, this nigga was dumb. He worked messy, very messy which leads me to believe he's on someone's payroll.
Killing him wasn't the issue. Once he's gone his boss just gon put someone else in charge. So his time was definitely coming sooner then he expected. I just needed to know who the fuck he was working for.
Feeling my phone buzz I looked down at my lap and saw Emerald had sent me a text.
I need to speak with you.
Leaving her on read I locked my phone. I didn't have time for whatever it was she wanted to talk about. With all the shit I have going on Emerald was the last person on my mind.
Looking up I noticed the nigga had pulled off so I did the same thing. Unlocking my phone I quickly dialed Bash's number.
"Yo this nigga is useless." I said looking in my rear view mirror. I was beyond annoyed. I had more pressing matters in my life, like finding Chanel yet here I am playing fucking inspector gadget with this nigga.
"Baby said he might got some new information, Vee put him on bout something." Bash said as I sucked my teeth.
"What the fuck would she know?" I asked as Bash laughed.
"Nigga I don't know he said pull up on him at the crib." Nodding my head as if Bash could see I stopped at the stop light.
"Alright but if this information ain't shit. Meek going in a body bag tonight. As a warning and that better scare off who ever the fuck he working with." I spoke as Bash got quiet.
"I with whatever, but come scoop me." He said causing me to suck my teeth.
"Be downstairs!" I told him before hanging up.

"Yo when you go in don't be on the dumb shit you was on the other day." Bash said as I sucked my teeth. I don't care what anyone says, Domo was wrong and Baby was wrong for not saying shit. Could never be me.

"Get the fuck out." I said turning the car off. Taking a deep breath I got out the car locking it.
Knocking on the door Baby opened it and we followed him to his little office he had.
"Where Bag?" Baby asked as we sat down.
"Noel sick he watching her." Bash responded as Baby nodded his head.
"How ya feeling tho? Everything —— "
"Man what the fuck is it you have to say?" I spoke cutting Baby off. He had summoned us all the way to his house in Jersey. So I wasn't here for no small talk.
"Emerald, claim some bitch that work for her is the bitch talking. Apparently she fucking Meek." Baby said causing me to take a deep breath.
"Why the fuck we here? Talking instead of asking the bitch what she knows?" Bash spoke up.
"Emerald store just opened up, the girl couldn't possibly know anything. My pops think Emerald just jealous of the girl." Baby said causing me to scrunch up my face.
"And what do you think?" I asked not giving two fucks what Domo had to thought. As far as I'm concern my business ain't have shit to do with him. I may have needed the nigga in the pass, but now I have more then enough money to open my own business and launder my own money.
"I mean the bitch don't know us so how could she possible be telling Meek anything?" He asked as I shook my head.
"Cool, while you sit here and take orders from daddy, Imma go get answers." I spoke standing up.
"Bash ya ass better be outside or you getting left." I spoke leaving out. Domo and Baby were really starting to piss me the fuck off.
"You could tell when you ain't have ya dick sucked in a minute. Start bitching, damn." Bash said as we got in the car.
"Shut the fuck up." I said pulling off heading to the next destination.

"What we doing here?" Bash asked as I parked the car getting out ignoring him.

"YOU FUCKING DIRTY SNAKE ASS BITCH!" I heard as soon as I walked in the store and saw Emerald beating on some girl.
"She always beating on someone's daughter." Bash mumbled while laughing as I watched Sarai, Vee, and some other dark skin girl try and pull Emerald off. None of them noticed we had walked in.
"E get off of her, you gon hurt the baby. The doctor said you need to be resting." Vee yelled catching me off guard.
"Baby?" My loud voice boomed causing everyone to stop and look at me.
"Oh shit." Vee said as I looked over at Emerald then looked down at her stomach.
"You pregnant?" I asked as she rolled her eyes and nodded her head.
"I'm suing you! Dumb ass bitch!" The girl said while she was still on the floor. Imma assume this was the girl Baby had told us about.
"What are ya doing here?" Vee asked with an attitude? "Came to talk to her." Bash motioned to shawty Emerald was beating up as I just kept my eyes on Emerald.
She was pregnant again, and didn't tell me. Then again I wasn't even sure that she was pregnant with my child.
"Fuck you need from me? I don't know shit!" The girl yelled causing me to look over at her and shake my head.
"We ain't even say shit and you talking." I spoke as Bash walking over to her. "Get the fuck up." He spoke harshly to her as she rolled her eyes.
"I ain't going anywhere with you." She said as I suck my teeth.
"Yo grab the bitch and let's go." I said annoyed. Looking for Emerald I noticed she wasn't here anymore.
"Kross, what are you bout to do with that girl?" Sarai asked as I shrugged my shoulders.
"What girl? I don't know what you talking about." I said walking out the store. Bash had already put the bitch in the car.
"What we bout to do with her?" He asked.
"See what she knows, then she dies." I said shrugging my shoulders getting in the car. I wasn't worried about anyone in the store snitching. They all knew what was up. And if word did get out that would just be another body.

"Please, please please! I don't know anything. I was just fucking Meek. He said he would take care of me if I just told him." The girl cried out.
"Told him what?" I asked as she cried looking down.
"Stuff about Emerald. Please don't kill me." She continued to cry. But shit she was saying was making any fucking sense.
"Bitch stuff like what? Talk or die." Bash said pointing the top of the gun right on her forehead.
"The people she hung out with, he mostly wanted to know about you and her. He said she would lead him to you. He had to take you out so he could be the new you. Take over your life!" She cried as I sucked my teeth getting aggravated.
The shit she was saying still wasn't adding up. How the fuck did he know about me being in business with Baby and Domo? That shit wasn't advertised. To everyone Baby just owned a fucking club. And Domo was Baby's dad. An old wanna be thug who ran a few businesses.
"Who does he work for?" I asked as the girl looked at me with tears.
"I don't know, please let me go!" She cried again as Bash put his finger on the trigger and shortly after the her dead body slouched over.
"Get this shit cleaned up." I spoke taken the white shirt I had on that was now covered in blood off tossing it on the floor.

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

Riftwalker
Legend speaks that a roaring force of insatiable abyss lies beneath the peaceful overworld. Named the Rift after its chasm-like entrances, this unexplored void has consumed the underneath for eons. What had seemed just a myth crawled out of unreality in the form of eldritch creatures. Reborn as something not entirely human, mankind rejected the boy. Thrown into the Rift by people who feared him, he had to live in a world run by monsters as a newborn. Surviving, however, wasn't his only difficulty as he soon had to decide whether he would save the people who banished him or simply idle as the Rift engulfed all life. As of chapter 9, Riftwalker is on a very small hiatus. I'm very busy with work atm :( Here are a couple of things to expect: Lots of action and exploration! Diverse and refreshing creatures; There are good and evil. Satisfying progression and coming of age. The protagonist stands out but isn't overpowered. There are some litRPG elements, but it's not a determinant factor. The fights are decided through one's combat skill and experience and not stat-checking. Oh, and some other info: There is a bit of gore, but nothing disturbing. Occasionally, there will be images of the scenery and landscape. Chapters will be around 1,5k to 2k words long, and the releases will probably be relatively slow, sorry.

The Flamelight Chronicles
This is a fantasy novel with a unique magic system. Imagine if Eragon, Kingkiller Chronicles, Benjamin Ashwood, and more had a weird group baby-- that's this book! To Eli, who lost his parents, was born in a small town named Stathen--in which not a single person of true nobility lives-- and is the only person who seems to have no magical power, the world seems perfectly unfair. That is until one day everything goes horribly wrong and perfectly right.
