I stormed into school that Thursday. Hayley, Marina and Lauren stood at the fountain, talking.
I sent the number a message.
The minute I sent it, Lauren's phone buzzed. She took it out and as soon as she read it, her eyes widened.
She looked around nervously and her eyes landed on me. I shook my head at her and walked away.
I wasn't going to embarrass her in front of her friends. I wasn't like that.
I thought about it before replying.

People from a technologically advanced society are thrown into a world where they can't maintain their tech. They are forced to rely on medieval technology where they have to make do with the limited resources they have and what little of their old technology is still working. Their gene manipulation allows them to have something akin to superpowers, but that doesn't help much against the monsters of their new world.
