Callen was the first one in the bullpen ready for work.........but why was he the first one there...........
(sighs) "I mean, a phone call would've been nice. A text. Hell, an-an e-mail, just so I'd know you tried to contact me." Sam said as he came round the corner "Good morning?" Callen replied "We carpool to work. Today you weren't home." Sam answered sitting in his chair "I'm already here." He replied "I know that. Now." Sam said "I took my own car. Didn't want to wake you. It was very early." Callen mentioned "What's so important you had to come in early?" Sam asked him "Nothing." Callen replied "Really? I thought we talked about this, G." Sam asked "I promise you I will send you a text next time." Callen said "I'm talking about you returning to old habits. Keeping things from the team, from me. Going rogue." Sam explain "Callen's going rogue again?" Kensi asked as Deeks and herself came round the corner "Oh, nice, can I shadow you? It's the only way I'll learn." Deeks explained as he sat down "Not going rogue. I actually came to work early, which is literally the opposite of going rogue." Callen explained "What's in the file, G?" Sam asked straight up "Why are you making this a thing?" He asked "Is it a thing?" Sam asked his partner "It's not a thing, but you're making it one." Callen replied "You guys sound like an old married couple." Kensi said as she grabbed the file quickly as possible "Ooh, smooth, Kensilina." Deeks said as Kensi joined Deeks and Sam at their desk "Garret Odell. Who's Garret Odell?" Kensi said reading it out loud
"He's no one. He's clean. But ever since our names were leaked last year, I have made a point of trying to keep tabs on new people that enter our lives." Callen explained "So whose life is he entering into?" Deeks said "Attorney, divorced. One child, six years old." Kensi said "Who goes to McCadden Elementary. Joelle's school." Sam said standing up "Now it's a thing." Callen said pointing "Whoa. This guy's dating Joelle?" Deeks said chilling in his chair "No, I stopped by her house to drop some things off, they were having dinner, okay?" Callen said explaining "You guys broke up, like, a month ago? I mean, that's fast. That's too fast. This man has a right to be suspicious." Deeks said looking at them all "I think the word is âjealous." Kensi said "I broke up with her, remember? Look, I don't need to defend myself, okay? I was looking out for her and for the team, case closed." Callen said finishing it off (whistles): "You know what they say, when Callen closes a case, Eric Beale-- he opens a window. To another case. Ooh, that sounded better in my head. (clears throat) Granger wants you in Ops." Eric said running back up to ops "There's your file." Kensi said as she and Deeks went upstairs "We done with this thing?" Callen asked him as they both stood up "I mean, if you say it's not a thing," Sam replied "it's not a thing." Callen answered "It's not a thing. Unless you don't realize it's a thing." Sam said "You keep that up, we're gonna have a thing." Callen replied as they walk both upstairs as well

After the team were informed on there new case Kensi and Deeks took Nell with them to the marina for a extra pare of hands but Deeks had something else on his mind...........
"Sounds promising All right, thanks, great, thank you, Eric, bye." Kensi said to Eric on the phone as she hang up "What do we know?" Deeks asked as he walked close to her "So Eric spoke to Overson's office back in San Jose. It seems he sailed down last week to meet with several tech companies here at Silicon Beach." She answered "Did you say Silicone Beach? 'Cause that sounds amazing. We should probably go there, maybe do some covert surveillance." Deeks suggested "Yeah? Maybe I tell your girlfriend you said that." Kensi replied with a smirk on her face "Mm-mm, no, don't tell her that." Deeks replied "Silicon Beach, much like Silicon Valley. It's what they're calling the new tech start-up scene here in L.A. Overson was meeting with these companies to consider investing." Kensi explained "Well, if he denied one of them, that's motive right there." He replied "Well, Eric is accessing his calendar to find this list of companies." Kensi said "Nellasaurus, what do you got-- anything from the cameras?" Deeks asked as Nell came out of the boat "That's a no-go. Overson had the cloud backup disabled. I'm guessing he didn't want his former employer spying on him." Nell said wondering
"Okay, so where did the feed go?" Kensi asked her "To his laptop, which is also missing." She replied "Well, Overson went in the water. Maybe the laptop did, too." Deeks said "We should get the coast guard to search the surrounding waters." Kensi said looking at Deeks "Yup. That sounds like a great idea." Nell said looking a bit pale "Oh, hey, you okay?" Kensi asked her "Guys, I don't do so well with boats. It's the rocking and then the stomach. It's not the best combination." Nell explained "You do realize that, uh, you're an NCIS agent. Where the âNâ stands for ânavalâ. I don't mean, like, a belly button kind." Deeks mentioned "Oh. Thanks, Captain Obvious. I think navy ships are a little bit bigger." Nell replied "Where you going, Gilligan?" Deeks asked her as she tried to walk away "Pretty sure marina security isn't as cautious with their cameras. The âIâ is for âinvestigative." Nell mentioned "Oh, wow, and âSâ stands for âshow-off. â Well played." Deeks replied (phone buzzes) "I'll collect the video and bring it back to Ops. You're welcome." Nell said as she walked off "All right, Eric just sent the list of companies. We are going to Silicon Beach." Kensi said "God, it'd be so much more fun if they just added the âEâ at the end." Deeks replied as they both walked off
Kensi and Deeks head to Silicon Beach where Kensi headed to the Flibbit company as Deeks was talking to a surf dude..........
"So what am I looking at, exactly?" Kensi asked looking at the screen "It's a Flibbit. It's a social networking app that allows anonymous posting. When I swipe it here, it reveals the hidden message. In this one, the user's expressing irritation with a co-worker. But it could just as easily be the sharing of a secret, a declaration of love, even a political statement. But again, all anonymous." The women explained as she demonstrated "And Larry Overson was interested?" Kensi asked "Yeah. So were we, and I don't just mean his money. Larry is He was, um a real inspiration. Sorry." The women said (sniffles) "No, take your time. So, it seems Flibbit was really successful already-- why did you guys need more money?" Kensi asked her "We always need more. We won't see profit for at least another few years. And since we provide Flibbit ad-free, we're already looking to the next round of funding. I hate talking about money at a time like this, but we really needed Larry's investment." The women said "I'm sorry to change the subject, Who's that guy in the suit?" Kensi asked "That's Vincent, our new head of security." The women replied "Military veteran?" Kensi asked "No. Not that I know of. But we should really hire some. Do our part. Remind me to hire military veterans." The women said speaking into her phone and as Kensi was taking some photos of the security man (MALE VOCIE) "Okay, I'll remind you." "Very efficient." Kensi replied putting her phone away

"Explain it to me, exactly." Deeks asked "We'll be the first on-demand butler service for pets. Get it? Muttler. It's called Muttler." The surf dude explained "Yeah, no, I get it. It's-it's really clever. Um, just seems like a pretty narrow market." Deeks said 30% of Los Angeles households have pets. That's, like, a million people. I bet you have a pet.," the surf asked "A dog. Monty." Deeks answered "Does Monty have a butler?" He asked "No. No, he does not. So Larry Overson wanted to invest in the start-up?" Desk asked "We, uh we pitched him, but ultimately Larry decided it wasn't the right investment for him." He said "Being denied by Larry-- I mean, that must have been tough." Deeks said "Yeah. Yeah, it was. To have your hero tell you no? Doesn't feel very good. But then I remembered what he said in his book. To be a success, you need one yes and a million noes. So I'm confident I'm gonna get my yes." The surf dude explained "Okay, all right. Just one other thing. Do you always take time off in the middle of the workday to go surfing?" Deeks asked "Oh, no, we're not taking time off work. This is our weekly board meeting. You get it? Board meeting." He asked pointing at his surf board in his arms "Yeah. No, I got it. Still very clever. All right, brother. Good luck with that." Deeks said as the surfer walked off
"Wow. So, what do we know?" Deeks asked Kensi as her turned around "Interviewed four companies, and the only one that Overson invested in was an app that finds the nearest public restroom." Kensi answered as she walked towards Deeks "I'm telling you, this is not the Venice I grew up in. Although I'm not getting a murder vibe from anybody." Deeks replied as they both started to walk to the car "And from Callen and Sam, Overson's friend Powell is on the run." Kensi said "So how many have we got left?" Deeks asked her "Uh, three, all of which are valued in the tens of millions." She replied "God. See, you know what? If Silicon Beach was around when I was younger, I'm pretty sure I would have crushed it." Deeks said to her "I'm pretty sure you would have crashed it." Kensi replied making a pointing "But I am an idea man. You know this about me." Deeks said "I do, but not necessarily for complex computer programs." Kensi replied "Yeah, but I'd just hire those people. I'd have, like, an army of Beales toiling away in the data mine." Deeks explained "And what are you doing in the meantime? Just surfing?" Kensi asked "Yeah, it's called a board meeting, and it's very professional." Deeks replied looking at her "Wow. Three more stops. Let's go." Kensi answered "You know what? I'm thinking about getting Monty a butler." Deeks said suggesting it to her "You are Monty's butler." Kensi replied "Oh, yeah." Deeks said as they both got into the car
Everyone met back up in ops to try and find a new lead..........Kensi and Deeks then decided to and question Powell .........
"That greedy bastard. Why didn't I think of it?" Powell said "So you discussed the daemon with your lawyer?" Deeks asked "During my OverGuard lawsuit two years ago, Rowe and I were looking to discredit Larry. I mentioned it." Powell replied "Mentioning doesn't give Rowe access to a powerful computer code, though." Kensi said "No. But giving him access to all my computer files for the suit does." He replied "Wait a minute. So the daemon was still in your files? Why wouldn't you wipe that?" Deeks asked "It was stupid, I know, but I I was proud of it. I never would have sold the daemon, but that didn't mean I couldn't admire it." Powell said as Kensi called Eric "Kens." Eric said on the phone "Eric, we're gonna need a location on Wilson Rowe." Kensi asked him "Copy." Eric replied
Kensi and Deeks then decided to go and track down the lawyer back down at Silocon Beach........
"There's our lawyer's car." Deeks said as they both got out of the car "And there's our lawyer." Kensi mentioned "He looks grumpy. You know what he needs?" Deeks asked "What?" She replied "Puppies." Deeks replied "Puppies?" Kensi said once again "Puppies at a push of a button. You're feeling blue, you pull up the app, (snaps fingers) you got puppies." Deeks explained "That's your idea?" Kensi asked him "That's my idea! It's great, huh?" Deeks asked "Already exists." Kensi mentioned "What, really? A puppy app?" Deeks asked her "And kittens. Already exists." She explained "Seriously? How about an old dog with bad flatulence? 'Cause Monty's available." Deeks said as (groans) (gunshot) "Deeks. Get down!" Kensi said as both of them hidden behind the car "Everybody get down! Kensi, you see where that shot came from?" Deeks asked her "No. Nell, we need backup and an ambulance-- Rowe's been shot." Kensi asked through her ear piece "Son of a bitch!" Deeks said
"What you got, Eric?" Deeks asked Eric through his ear piece as he walked across the sand "After Rowe left Powell at the boatshed, he texted someone. They told him to meet them at the beach." Eric replied "Who was Rowe on the phone with when he got shot?" Deeks asked standing next to Kens Same number. But it was scrambled by a pro. I can't trace it." Eric mentioned "So after he spoke to Powell, Rowe must have started to suspect that whoever he sold the daemon to killed Overson." Kensi explained trying to put the pieces together "Yeah, but in that case, you don't call the killer. That's like painting a target on your back." Deeks replied "Unless Rowe had Overson shot. In which case he knew the killer." She replied "And they don't want him talking to federal agents. Eric?" Deeks answered "Copy. We'll look through Rowe's client list and contacts." Eric said as he hang up
"Any luck?" Deeks asked his stunning partner (sighs): "Well, to the west, it's all ocean, so obviously the shot came from the east." Kensi mentioned "Unless you got a shark with a rifle." Deeks put in there "That's funny. Well, I heard the rifle report about two seconds after Rowe was hit. Sound travels at 332 meters per second. Your average bullet is about twice that speed." Kensi explained as she got cut off by "God, I love it when you talk math." Deeks mentioned "So to calculate the distance of the shot, we have to multiply those two speeds by the two-second time gap, dividing it by the difference between those speeds." She continued "I'm right there with you. What do you got?" Deeks asked her "I'm looking at a vantage point of just over half a mile. Like that, through those buildings." Kensi said pointing to it "The Flibbit building?" Deeks asked "Yep." Kensi replied "Oh, wow. I'll call Sam." Deeks said as they both walked off
Everyone was back at the armoury getting their equipment ready for there plan...........
"We know that the government and military officials who use the app have been compromised." Granger said as Deeks walked by and throw Kensi a vest "The data the daemon is stealing will be stored on Flibbit's on-site servers. Once they isolate the valuable Intel, they'll need to get it back to ISI." Eric explained "They wouldn't take a chance sending it over a network." Granger replied "So they'd need to send it physically." Callen answered "External hard drive would do the trick. We've been monitoring the building, and fortunately no one's left since the update." Eric explained "We need to secure the data before they hand it over to Pakistan." Granger asked "And we got to deal with the two ISI agents." Sam answered "Yeah, at the very least. Those two agents didn't even raise a red flag when we did our initial background. There very well could be more." Eric continued "But most of the employees are innocent, so if we go in weapons hot, it could get messy." Kensi mentioned "Well, we got a man on the inside-- Haber." Sam said "We don't usually get much cooperation from Mossad, but they've confirmed Haber is one of theirs. And I think Israel hates ISI enough to put tradecraft aside for one night." Granger answered "We get Haber to set off the fire alarm, innocent employees should evacuate." Callen explained "ISI agents will stay to protect the data." Sam said "Send Haber a message with the plan." Granger asked Eric "Yeah." He replied "And don't let that data out of the building." Granger asked once again
After the team solved the case Kensi and Deeks needed to make a stop before they went home..........
"So your lawyer sold the daemon to a Pakistani businessman by the name of Babur Jilani." Deeks mentioned to Powell standing in the boatshed "Who actually works for ISI. And we took out three of their agents inside Flibbit." Kensi explained "Wow. So Larry was right. And he paid for it with his life. So, um, does does the NSA still want to press charges against me for hiding the daemon?" He asked them both "That's actually gonna be the least of your problems." Deeks replied "You see, the thing is, those ISI agents were nowhere near Overson's boat last night." Kens I answered "Maybe there were more than three." Powell said "Maybe. Or maybe you threw Overson's laptop into the marina. And maybe the coast guard fished it out a couple hours ago." Deeks said "And maybe Overson waterproofed his hard drive." Kensi mentioned "Because he did use it in a boat after all." He said "And our people were successful at pulling his security video." Kensi said
"Well, look at that." Deeks said as them all looked at the screen as Deeks played a video "And when we searched your lawyer's office, we found that he'd kept secret recordings-- discussions with you about how to sell the daemon." Kensi said "Pretty fantastic plan, really-- you're cooperative, having us chase ISI around all day long." Deeks answered "And telling us just the right amount of truth to hide the lies. And yet here we are." Kensi asked him "I knew that we were selling the daemon to ISI, but I didn't know what they were gonna do with it, that it would end up at Flibbit. (sighs) Of course the great Larry Overson had to find it, had to ruin it. As if he already hadn't ruined my life enough. (chuckles) In one more month, I would have started to see some of the money from the sale. One more month, and I would have been gone." Powell explained
