Just a normal day in the office, but Sam was up to something and everyone else was determined to find out what.........
"That's Sam Hanna laser-focused on what is that, Centipede? Old-school, I love it." Deeks walking through the bull pen and sitting down "It's a strand of DNA." Sam said starring at his laptop "Of course it is." Deeks replied "I'm helping my daughter with her homework. I'm looking for a palindromic sequence where the enzymes cleave." Sam explained "Wow. You had me at palindromic." Deeks answered "It's where the base pairs are identical forward and backwards." He continued "Much like a word palindrome-- kayak-- reads the same in both directions." Kensi explained as she gave Deeks a coffee walking to her seat "Madam, I'm Adam." Deeks said to her "Naomi, did I moan?" Kensi replied "Sex at noon taxes." Deeks said ""All right, enough." Sam said "Ah, Callen. You know about palindromes." Kensi asked Callen as she sat down and he walked through "Yeah, yeah, no I heard the FAA is thinking about banning their use by civilians." Callen said as Sam shacked his head "Are we not drawn onward? We few drawn onward to new era." Eric said from the stairs as everyone else looked very freed out by it "That actually works. Amazing, Eric. Well done." Kensi said to him "Thanks. I was, uh, president of the palindrome club in high school." Eric mentioned "Why am I not surprised?" Sam said "Mr. Owl ate my metal worm." Deeks said walking up stairs with Kensi "Ooh, good one, Deeks." Eric replied "Words are the money of fools." Sam said standing up "Egad, an adage. That's also a palindrome." Callen replied "Wow." Sam replied "That's the best you got?" Callen asked as they both went upstairs
After everyone was informed on there new case Kensi and Deeks made their way to the hospital were they met Hugh's wife...........
"He's still in a coma. A few weeks ago, radiation destroyed his bone marrow. Now he can't make new platelets, so he bled out. With no white blood cells, he can't fight off infection." The doctor said as all 3 of them were walking down the hall "So what's the prognosis?" Deeks asked If we find a match donor, he will get a stem cell transplant. 65% chance without survival "And without the stem cells?" Kensi asked as they stopped out side the room "Will you sanitize, please?" The doctor asked "Yeah." Kensi said "Is that the wife?" Deeks asked "Yes, and she's eight months pregnant. Jamie? These are the NCIS agents." The doctor said "Hi. I'm, uh, I'm Marty Deeks." He said "Kensi Blye. I'm so sorry to be meeting you under these circumstances." Kensi replied
"Do we know how it happened?" Jamie asked them "Well, we have all of our resources on the case." Deeks answered "Is there any way he could've brought the radioactivity home?" She asked "Well, as we understand, he wasn't actually contaminated." Kensi said "Days ago, maybe he was. If he didn't shower or change his clothes right away, he could've been near me, and then our baby would've been" Jamie tried to explain when "Your blood count doesn't indicate significant exposure." The doctor cut her off "Are any of your friends or family undergoing cancer treatment at the moment?" Kensi asked "Does he have any regular after work hangouts?" Deeks asked "He came right home. We're getting the nursery together." Jamie answered "And is the base the only place that he works?" Kensi asked "No. He started moonlighting as a security guard, like, once a week." Jamie answered "And where is that?" Deeks asked her " A construction site in Carlsbad, to help make ends meet. Lots of bills with a new baby on the way." Jamie continued to explain "All right" Deeks replied

Hetty then decided to call Kensi and Deeks and inform them on their latest undercover operation........but some people weren't to happy.........
"What if Patterson wakes up and he has some sort of critical information? Shouldn't maybe, one of us stay here?" Deeks suggested to Hetty talking through their ear pieces "Owen is driving south. He'll take over at the hospital." Hetty replied "Thought Callen and Sam had Santa Flora covered." Kensi asked "Well, unfortunately, management has not welcomed them with open arms. But fortunately, they do have an opening in their housekeeping department." Hetty explained to them both "Oh, fantastic. I'm playing a janitor again. except for this time, I'm sweeping up at a nuclear power plant." Deeks said "No, no, no, that would be Ms. Blye's assignment." Hetty replied "With pleasure and without whining." Kensi said looking at Deeks "Patterson's departure has left a vacancy in the security department." Hetty continued "Oh, that's fantastic. I get that." Deeks said looking happy this time "Yeah, that was the job that got Patterson the lethal exposure." Kensi said to him "Oh Yeah No, maybe I shouldn't be Maybe I should be the janitor, you know what I mean? 'Cause I got the skill set and the look and the experience" Deeks explained "Sorry, Mr. Deeks. No take-backsies." Hetty said "Good luck with that." Kensi said "No! Ah!" Deeks replied as they both walked away
Kensi and Deeks were straight into there op, when Kensi got a knock on the bathroom door..........
"Would you, uh would you mind if I came in for a second?" Deeks asked "Not until the floor is dry." Kensi said "Yeah, but it's a little bit of an emergency. Oh, wow. Look at that apron. You know, some guys are into the whole French maid thing, but for me, I've always liked the working-class girls, you know what I mean? Dirt under the fingernails, haven't showered in a week." Deeks explained as he came into the bathroom "What did you learn from Patterson's boss?" Kensi asked "Nothing. He's either totally in the dark or part of the cover-up. What about you?" Deeks asked "Well, I cloned the corporate e-mail server and sent it to Eric and Nell. They're scanning it as we speak." Kensi replied "Excellent work on these sinks. Does this mean you're gonna start tidying up your own bathroom?" Deeks suggested "What are you talking about? I tidy up all the time." Kensi replied "Uh, every time I come over, there's dried globs of toothpaste all over the sink. It's actually quite disgusting." Deeks mentioned "Well, I'm just trying to be considerate. Because when I wake up in the morning, really early, to go jogging-- something that you never do-- I just don't want to run the water and wake you up." Kensi explained "Oh, wow, touché." Deeks replied back to her
"You done in there?" The man said as he knocked on the door "Just getting started. Please use the second floor. Nell, what do you got?" Kensi said as her phone vibrated "Here's a little something off the e-mail server. Two weeks ago, plant manager Westphal refers to an incident, quote: ânot reported to the NRC as no personnel were exposed and immediate corrective actions were taken." Nell explained "â Great. Any other information? Like location, date and time?" Deeks asked "No, nothing. I'm still digging for dirt." Nell said "Hey. News from the hospital. Patterson is waking up." Eric said siting back into his chair "Okay, I'm gonna need an update from Granger." Kensi asked "You'll be the first to know or maybe the second. Uh, possibly the third. Not lower than the third." Eric said rambling on "Wow. Okay, thank you Eric. Bye-bye. Doesn't the, uh, security department have some sort of policy on facial hair?" Kensi asked as she hang up on Eric "Yeah, no, I have to lose the beard in 24 hours. But it's fine, 'cause I get to keep the moustache." Deeks replied "No, you don't." Kensi answered "Yeah, I do. Actually, a lot of amazing men have moustaches. Like Albert Einstein, Salvador Dali And also Ron Jeremy." Deeks mentioned "No moustache." Kensi said spraying polish on his face and then walking out the bathroom "Really? You got a problem with Albert Einstein? E=mc squared?" Deeks asked her as he followed her

The case still wasn't closed so Deeks decided to go and check on Kensi once again.........
"Blake Griffin. Oh, it's coming down to the buzzer. Blake Griffin for three. Nothing but bottom of the" Deeks said chucking his lunch in the 'Bin' as he was walking down the hall "No, no. Deeks, you're gonna contaminate my evidence from Westphal's shredder." Kensi said coming out from the door "Oh, nice. That's a lot of salsa." Deeks said "That's gross. Um What did you find out from security?" Kensi asked him she she through it in the bin "I believe I was exposed." Deeks said "What?" Kensi replied "To the toxicity of the vending machine's chimichangas. Seriously, my tummy hurts. Uh, also I saw Patterson's radiation badge report." Deeks continued looking at kens "And? Come here. Go ahead, Nell." Kensi said as she pulled Deeks into the bathroom "Hey, do you have eyes on Callen?" Nell asked them "He's still with the suits." Deeks replied "Something from the drive?" Kensi asked "Whoever destroyed the video wasn't very savvy. They simply deleted it and emptied the trash." Eric explained
"Yeah, rather than perform a clean wipe. So the footage could still exist." Nell continued "Sweet." Deeks replied "Uh, not so sweet. Most of the file fragments were overwritten in the last three weeks." Eric mentioned "Even with RAM analysis, we're only recovering pixelated bits and pieces at best. Here, take a look at what we found." Nell asked "1:11am Water level's still high." Kensi said "All right, same at 1:24. But then at 2:09" Eric said "Patterson enters and walks around the pool. We already know this." Deeks finished "Take another look at the water level." Nell asked "Oh, wow, it's down, it's really low." Kensi said "Yeah, and no alarms are sounding. That didn't happen until after 4:00 a.m." Eric explained "So the water's low for two hours with no alarms. Patterson's radiation badge showed that he was exposed to a hundred rems." Deeks mentioned "Whoa! Plant workers are only allowed five rems of radiation per year." Nell said "Whoa, hold the phone, get me Callen." Eric said to Nell "Why? What happened?" Kensi asked "I just found the smoking gun." Eric replied
Kensi and Deeks were on their way back to ops as the case was closed..........but was it..........
"Yeah, all right. Thank you, Nell." Deeks said as he hang up "Yeah. Okay. Thanks, Granger. Bye." Kensi said as she also hang up too as they were both walking outside "So what's going on at the hospital?" Deeks asked Kensi "Patterson is still in critical condition, unfortunately, but his wife went into labor, and they had a healthy baby boy." Kensi explained "Well, that's fantastic. Chadmont's in custody. He admitted to engineering the water drop." Deeks mentioned "Wow. Case closed. Guess I won't have to be seeing that moustache after all." Kensi said looking at Deeks "Oh, you don't think so? Soon as we get home, I'm busting out that Barbasol like it's 1983." Deeks said as soon as........."What the hell?!" Kensi said as Deeks and herself found themselves on the ground after just a massive explosion went off "Yeah. Case definitely not closed." Deeks replied looking at her
Kensi and Deeks then went to go and follow a lead........
"There he is. Ten o'clock. " Deeks said as they both came round the corner into the the outside coffee shop "He's not scrolling or texting. Could be watching TV." Kensi suggested "Hmm. SpongeBob's on about now." Deeks replied "If Hetty's right, he's watching the news feed, which is good. He's waiting." Kensi answered "If he knew we're law enforcement, he would speed-dial that IED." Deeks explained "Which means we have time for a coffee." Kensi said "I'll grab us a table. Our wonderful cell phone jammer has a radius of 50 feet, which is perfect." Deeks said opening the bag as "Fantastic." Kensi I replied as she went inside and Deeks sat down
"You watching TV? You got Wi-Fi?" Deeks asked the man "From the coffee shop." The man replied "That's crazy, 'cause I got no reception. Do you need to log in or is there a password? Or maybe I just need to buy a scone?" Deeks asked him "Aah!" The man said standing up as Deeks just spilt his coffee on him ,Oh. Oh, my God. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Here. Please, I'm so, so sorry." Deeks said handing his some napkins "You idiot!" The man replied "I'm so sorry." Deeks said again "Hey. Federal agents. Don't move. No! Everybody get down and stay put! Get down! Get down!" Kensi said "Ma'am, get down! Get down! Move! Stay down! Let her go! Stop! Get down. Let her go." Deeks said as well "Let her go. Second phone!" Kensi said as they both shot the man "That call connected. Sam, Callen, get out of there!" Deeks said through his ear piece "Got to do it now, G." Sam said "Blasting caps are gonna blow!" Callen said running out "Hey, man Hey that was crazy, man. You got some big ones." Sam said as they both walked back in "Very strong, my friend. Thank you." Callen said help him up "You're welcome." Granger said "What the what the hell?" Sam said "Somebody had to do it." Granger replied "You don't even have any EOD experience." Callen mentioned "I had infinite trust in Hanna." Granger said "come on. We'll get you up. Come on." Callen said "The hell you will." Granger replied "Ain't that a bitch?" Sam said to Callen
After the case was closed Kensi and Deeks decided to go and check on someone and visit a little special person..........
"Jamie." Kensi said as she and Deeks stopped "His lungs filled with fluid. They paralyzed him and put him on a breathing machine." Jamie explained "He's tough. He's hanging in there." Deeks replied "He stopped breathing." Jamie said "Jamie, you can come in now." The doctor said "Will you hold him, please?" Jamie asked "Uh, Uh, yeah, I guess so." Kensi said looking at Deeks "Just make sure to support his head." Jamie said passing the baby to her "Okay. Shh. Shh He's so beautiful." Kensi said "Thank you." Jamie replied as she went into the room "You are. It's okay." Kensi said "Want me to call a nurse? Wow, look at you. Where'd you learn that?" Deeks asked as Kensi shakes her head "I had to babysit in middle school." She replied "What, at Camp Lejeune?" Deeks asked "Well, I needed to make my own money to buy ammo at the PX. Shh" Kensi answered "He could grow up without a dad." Deeks said "Yeah, but his dad's a hero. Do you know any lullabies?" Kensi asked "Me?" Deeks said looking at Kensi "Yeah," Kensi replied "no. No. No lullabies." He said "I'm pretty sure âTwinkle, Twinkleâ is okay. Everybody knows that one." Kensi said smiling at him "Twinkle, twinkle, little star How I wonder what you are Up ab Above the world so high Like a diamond in the sky" Deeks and Kensi sang "Keep going. It's working." Kensi said

Vemödalen: From The Other Side
War is coming - And when it comes - And where it comes - And whence it comes - The living shall envy the dead One to carry their sword in the name of their goddess and lady, to protect their land and people against the threat of the wicked. They know their path to be the righteous one. One to roam the land, hunting for all apparitions, and be scorned by man and beast alike. They know their path to be an arduous one. One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.
