《SLAVE》[BONUS SCENE] Interlude

The Queen slowly sipped her goblet. The taste of the bitter red wine stung her tongue and she indulged the feeling.

Everything was going her way. And nothing could stop her, because she was the Queen. No one could handle the Queen.

The doors to the Queen's room was burst open and a bewildered guard tumbled through.

"Your Majesty!"

"What is this?" The Queen growled and angrily stood up, "Barging through my door with no permission, I will have you hang-"

"M-my Lady, I bring urgent bad news," The guard stuttered, sweat dripping from his temples, "Your s-slave..."

Her blood immediately ran cold. "What about him? Spit it out, man!"

"He has escaped fr-from the Palace," The guard mustered to say, and obviously cringed by his own words.

The Queen froze. "What?" She whispered through gritted teeth.

"Apparently h-he had acquired a weapo--"

The Queen screamed in hot red fury and threw her goblet of wine after the guard, "How could you let it happen! You incompetent fool!!!"

"He overmanned the guards!" The guard squeaked and only barely managed to avoid the goblet, "He killed anyone in his path--"

"How is it possible?!" She screamed at him, "He is blind, you fool!"

"B-blind?"

"Blind!" She roared at the unknowing guard, "You are telling me that a blind, locked up slave, managed to break free, overpower and kill several guards, and successfully got out of my well-protected Palace, without being caught?"

"I-it is d-dinner time..." The guard whimpered pathetically.

The Queen screamed again and grabbed the first thing she caught - an antique vase from China - and smashed it into the wall, resulting in shards of porcelain everywhere.

"You fool! Find him! Send out all the guards, find him now!"

"Y-yes, your Majesty," The guard fumbled to get up and then ran out of the Queen's chambers.

How was it possible? He was blind, there was no way he could have found his way out alone. Someone had helped him. But who? And how?

She would get to the bottom of this.

In the mean time, she would have to wait for her incompetent guards to find Caydrick. He had to be found straight away; He knew too much, had too much information that she had foolishly shared with him. He had known this day would come, and he had loaded up on everything he needed, when that day arrived. He had her secrets, her deceit, all of her precious well-kept information that the people of Venice and Verona could not know about. Or any other country for that matter.

Oh, Caydrick had been smart, she had to bitterly admit that. He should pray to the almighty God, that when she found him, God would be merciful on his soul.

Because she was going to make him regret the day he betrayed her.
