Jennie's POV

"Come on Jennie Kim spill the tea!"

"Yeah Jen, we're all so curious!"

"What's with the sudden decision?"

I was sitting down in the cafeteria during lunch break with Wendy, Seulgi and Irene. They have been bugging me non stop since morning. I don't even know how they found out so fast.

"Geez you guys! Okay okay. So basically Taehyung proposed to me last night..." I began.

"WHAT THE F- " Seulgi shouted.

"Seulgi!" Irene silenced her before she could swear out loud. Some people had turned around to look at us. "Go on Jen, and then what did you say?"

"I said yes."

"Fuck. What the fuck." Seulgi muttered.

Wendy was just looking at me with her mouth agape.

Irene had a serious expression on her face.

Seulgi played with her food and refused to keep eye contact.

"Hey guys! Aren't you supposed to be happy for me? What's with the ugly faces?" I said puzzled at their behaviour.

"I mean.. don't you think its a little too fast? You've only dated for 3 years. 2. If you don't count the past year because we know how little time you guys spent with each other. Furthermore you guys are still in your prime! Do you want to start a family already? Are you sure he's the right one? Marriage isn't a joke you know!" Seulgi said.

"For once i have to agree with Seulgi, have you thought about it clearly Jen?" Irene added on.

"Yeah even i feel that its a little bit too fast." Wendy said.

I paused for a moment and thought about the event last night.

"Bye see you tomorrow." I greeted and got off his car, making my way to my apartment building.

"Wait Jen!" Taehyung called out, exiting his car hastily as he rushed up to me.

"What's up?" I asked curious as he seemed nervous approaching me.

"I-I know this might be quite sudden for you. And i understand if you don't wanna yet. But i just want to let you know that these past few years with you has been the happiest days of my life and i would be stupid to let this opportunity pass." Taehyung said.

I was puzzled as to what was happening i had no clue what he was talking about.

Taehyung took a deep breath as he kneeled down on one leg and brought out a black box.

I gasped. Is he....?

"Will you marry me?" Taehyung asked as he opened the box revealing a ring with a small diamond on it.

I was stunned. Sure i have always dreamt of settling down one day and starting a family with the love of my life. But i didn't think it would be now.

"Jennie?"

I snapped out of my thoughts back to reality as i saw that Taehyung was patiently waiting for my reply.

I mean... it'll happen sooner or later right? I'm sure that there is no other guy other than Taehyung that im going to spend the rest of my life with. Surely i have no regrets.

"Yes. Yes i'll marry you Tae."

Taehyung jerked his head in surprise and grinned excitedly. I smiled as he got up from his knees to put the ring on my finger and embraced me tightly.

"I love you Jennie. Thank you for making me the happiest man in the world. I promise to take care of you and be the perfect husband." He muttered and pulled away looking into my eyes.

"I-"

And there it was again. My head started hurting and pounding. I haven't experienced anything like this since a year ago, why was it happening again? I held onto Taehyung for support.

"Jen? Jennie? Babe are you okay?" Taehyung asked worriedly.

Motions of images flashed through my mind quickly.

"What a housewife material."

"Yes wouldn't you want to marry a wonderful woman like me?"

I felt my heart ache as i heard these voices in my head.

"Hmm maybe? I would have to think about it."

"Yah, you're mean."

I held onto my head tighter. Where were these voices coming from?!

"I'm just kidding baby, ofcourse i'd want to marry you. Anyone who has the privilege to do so is the luckiest person in the world."

The voices faded away and i started sobbing in Taehyung's arms. It had felt so real, almost like they were memories i had forgotten about.

"Hey. Hey its okay." Taehyung said soothingly as he stroked my hair at a loss for words while i continued crying.

"Well... i don't know girls. Do you think ive made a mistake? At that time i felt like there would've been no other man for me and that Taehyung is the only guy i will ever love. Tell me, was i wrong?" I asked solemnly, my appetite had diminished and i was just stirring my food around on my plate.

"Possibly." Seulgi said and Irene gave her a death glare.

I didn't get why Seulgi was reacting so negatively towards my engagement with Taehyung.

"Have you guys even had sex? Judging by your innocence you probably would want to wait until marriage. So how do you know he's good in bed? What if you marry him and you have to put up with fake orgasms for the rest of your life!" Wendy said.

"Wendy!" Irene hissed and she too received a death glare from her.

I chuckled a little at their childishness.

"You're right, i told Tae at the start of the relationship that i didn't want to have sex until marriage and he respected my decision. He said he was willing to wait till i was ready." I said fondly.

"Wow.... that's so.... fake." Seulgi said laughing.

"What do you mean?" I asked her.

"Men can never hold their hormones. Scratch that, even women at this age would be dying if they don't get their release every now and then. I won't be surprised if he secretly has been hoeing around behind your b-"

"KANG SEULGI."

Irene dragged Seulgi by the ear and left the cafeteria with her whimpering and apologizing begging her to let go.

Irene's POV

"Yah! Kang Seulgi what the heck were you trying to do saying all that infront of Jennie!" I reprimanded, finally letting go of her ear and crossing my arms at her.

"Ouch. Yah! What did i say that was wrong? Its true that men are-" Seulgi said defensively.

"Yes to hell with men! But why are you so worked up about it? I know its more than just that, Seulgi." I said raising my brow.

Seulgi huffed on the spot.

"Its because of Lisa."

I sighed. It has been a year since Lisa had disappeared without a single news, none of us knew what happened to her.

"Yes but- That's all in the past Seulgs, we don't even know if Lisa is ever coming back."

"I just feel bad, Irene. Watching Jennie get engaged with someone who clearly doesn't cherish her as much and yet i can't mention anything about Lisa. You have no idea how many times i almost spilled everything out." Seulgi said exasperatedly.

"It is not in our position Seulgi. Besides we don't even know the whole story. All we understood was the part where Lisa had briefly talked about on the call and the only person who knows everything is Jisoo, who still hasn't awaken." I reasoned.

Seulgi just shook her head in pity.

"Come on, we'll just look out for Jennie alright? Maybe Taehyung's feelings for her is true. But if he ever hurts her we'll be there to kick his balls." I said trying to lift the mood.

"I'll take the left side." Seulgi said and we both burst out laughing.

An awkward silence fell between me and Wendy after the pair left.

I thought about what Seulgi has said and tried to imagine the possibilities that Taehyung might have cheated on me with someone else during our relationship. A part of me didn't want to believe it but another part of me could believe it if it was true. Taehyung had always been distant frequently. I didn't get to see him much and i don't even know what he does everytime he was absent. I had always trusted him and assumed that he was busy with Sajangnim's extra work or his family.

"Do you think what Seulgi said is true?" I asked Wendy and she shifted in her seat uncomfortably.

"Well... she's kinda right in a way. We noticed that Taehyung hasn't always been committed to your relationship since the start and as friends we are worried for you especially when you decided to rush into the marriage thing. I can understand how Seulgi feels as your close friend she is a very protective person and she just doesn't want to see you get hurt. Don't judge her too harshly for this, im pretty sure all the things she said earlier was for your own good." Wendy said.

I sighed and nodded. Me, Seulgi, Irene and Jisoo had been very close since we started work at this company. If any guy broke their hearts i would be there to stand up for them. That must be how Seulgi feels right now.

"Come on lets finish our food, our break is almost over." Wendy reminded and i forced down a few more bites of my lunch.

Jennie's POV

After work i made a trip to the hospital and I entered Jisoo's ward as usual, surprised to be greeted by a heavenly voice.

"You must not know bout me.. you must not know bout me.. i can have another you by tomorrow, so don't you ever for a second get to thinking...."

".....you're irreplaceable."

I walked towards the bed and gasped, earning her attention as she stopped singing abruptly.

"Chaeyoung?" I said. I had recognized her as i saw her with Lisa a few times when i was spending my breaks with Jisoo.

"J-Jennie unnie." She greeted.

"What.. what are you doing here? W-where's Lisa?" I asked. My heart was pumping fast as i waited for her reply.

"Its just me unnie. Lisa hasn't come to find me as well since she left last year." Rosé said sadly.

"I have been visiting Jisoo unnie since the day she was hospitalized as Lisa informed me. I... I had a crush on Jisoo unnie for a really long time...." Rosé continued softly.

"But. Why haven't i seen you at all? I come here to visit Jisoo all the time." I asked, my heart aching in disappointment when i heard that she too didn't have any news of Lisa.

"I usually come during the late visiting hours. Lisa told me that i should do that so as to avoid questions from Jisoo's family and friends." Rosé said.

I went over to the couch to sit down. A lot was happening during the past two days.

"So... you have no idea where Lisa is?" I asked just to confirm.

"No.. but before she left she sent me a voicemail and last month she sent me another one to assure me that she was fine and doing well."

My head jerked up. "Can.. can i listen to it?"

Rosé smiled a little and said sure. She brought out her phone and i took it carefully, playing the first recording.

"Ehem... Hey wassup chipmunk! I know i know, i probably should've told you this in person but it was kinda last minute. So.. i just wanted to let you know that im going somewhere far away for awhile just to find myself again. A lot has happened and i feel like my presence there will only worsen the situation. Therefore, i won't be contactable during my little getaway. Don't look for me! You'll just be wasting your time instead of looking after Jisoo unnie. Take care of yourself chae.. i promise to come back for you once im ready. Don't miss me too much, always love you na kaaa my baby chipmunk! Here's your nalalisa signing off!" Lisa's voice played out loud in the room and my heart swelled, for some reason it really missed this human being.

I felt my eyes watering as i played the next recording which was from a month ago.

"Yoyoyo men! Hahaha.. did you miss me chipmunk? I bet you are already crying right now. My chaeyoung is always such a softie. Ah well.. so i just wanted to send a quick voicemail to assure you that im fine. Hooray im not dead! Ahaha. How's everything? Has Jisoo unnie awaken yet? Is Jennie unnie doing well with her boyfriend? Oh well i wouldn't know anyway. But i promise im coming back soon.. surprise! Just wait a little bit more for me alright? Then you can scream and hit me all you want for being such an idiot and leaving you alone. Miss and love you lots chae."

The second recording ended and now i was crying my eyes out again, with Rosé bawling in the background as she heard the audio for the hundredth time.

"She said she's coming back soon.. that pabo will be back again..." Rosé said sobbing.

I didn't know why i was crying but i felt happiness when i heard that Lisa was coming back to Seoul. I didn't realise how much my body missed her. Almost like she was someone extremely significant to me.
