Lisa's POV

- In the cab -

Jennie fell asleep on my shoulder during the ride, she must've been so worn out. I contemplated if i should wake her up later if she was still sleeping, i felt a slight twinge of disappointment. Jennie owed me my reward and if i don't claim it today i probably won't ever have the chance again. Aish... why are you so pervert Lisa, just let her be what the heck! I scolded myself for thinking such thoughts as i adjusted her to lean on me more comfortably.

The talk earlier had left me to feel a mix of emotions. She had reassured me and affirmed her feelings for me. Everything felt surreal with her, the night was a blur as the dark drew closer with each passing second. I looked out of the cab window. Snow was floating down from the sky as the car drove past the enchanting landscape. Is it selfish if i keep you? Is it wrong to want you more than i ever had now that i had a taste of what it's like loving you?

I thought of all the possibilities that ran through my head, each more complicated and conflicting than the last. And what? Jennie would wake up clueless about the day before and i could show her pictures, videos of us that we took. I could divulge to her that she was being cheated on. But in her mind, Taehyung was her boyfriend and she loved him. I was no more than just a creepy colleague who probably took advantage of her when she met with an accident while her lover was away. I was just someone who was jealous of her current relationship and wanted to break them apart with lies. None of these reasoning was in my favour.

Unknowingly my tears rolled down my cheeks which i took care to immediately wipe away. I will not lose myself at this moment. I have to be strong for Jennie.

"You know miss.... sometimes its easier to talk it out with someone especially with those whom you love rather than keep it all to yourself." A hoarse voice coming from the front of the car said warmly.

I looked at the old driver in surprise whose gaze was fixed on the road. I forgot that there was someone driving us.

"What will you do... if the person you love, loves someone else because they can't remember you?" I asked him softly, not wanting to wake Jennie up. It was silly asking such a random question to a stranger but at this moment it hardly mattered anymore.

There was a brief silence before he replied.

"I will do whatever it takes to win them back, and make them recall all the memories that tie us together as one. For i know that there is no one else in this world worth fighting for. I will only come home to them." The old driver said wistfully and his words caused a pang in my chest.

He was right. I let out a deep sigh and sniffled. Then i turned my head to look at the beautiful angel beside me. Her cheeks are so puffy just like a child. I gently stroked her hair as i closed my eyes taking in the calm atmosphere around us.

"We're here miss." The old driver announced as he stopped the car infront of the hotel entrance.

"Thank you, how much is it?" I asked reaching for my wallet in my pocket slowly as Jennie had still not woken up.

"It is free of charge. Count this as a christmas gift." The old driver said, his wrinkles creasing as he smiled kindly.

"Oh aniya, i should pay you." I said immediately.

"It's fine miss, go on now. I expect you have things to figure out." He shook his head knowingly. Old people are really wise.

"Thank you so much ahjussi. I really appreciate your kindness." I bowed my head and thanked him sincerely which he just smiled and waved it off.

I adjusted Jennie into my arms gently as i got out of the cab carrying her bridal style. She shifted slightly and put her arms around my shoulder as she buried her head in the crook of my neck. I could feel her steady and relaxed breathing against me and i smiled.

I walked into the lobby and the staff were glancing at me but none of them said a word.

I got into the empty lift and pressed the button for the seventh floor. Soft mozart was playing as the lift brought us up. I tilted my head to check on Jennie and she was still peacefully dozing.

Ting!

The elevator doors opened and i got out, stopping at our room as i skilfully managed to get the hotel card and scanned our door open.

I walked into our room and laid her gently on the bed, pulling the sheets to cover her up and then placing a kiss on her forehead.

Then i proceeded to the kitchen and started searching for ingredients as an idea came to me. I wanted to prepare a romantic candlelit dinner for Jennie, God knows i can't cook but surely just this once i can pull it off. It would be our very last meal together. I took out my phone and browsed through the internet for easy homecooked recipes, then i got an apron and tied it around my waist. I hummed a song as i got the ingredients out. (a/n: imagine moo by doja cat hahahah lol)

I finished off the plates with a garnish and i grinned widely, proud at what ive made. Achievement unlocked: cook dinner without setting the kitchen on fire.

I set up the table and chairs with a cloth over it. Then i arranged the plates and cutlery neatly on the table. I got three yankee candles from my pack that i had bought for me and Jennie earlier and lit them with matches that i found in the drawers. Well thought for Lisa. I chuckled and got two wine glasses and propped them on the table to fill them up. Charles Heidsieck Vintage Brut 2005. I had brought this gem along with me in my luggage.

All set.

I took off the apron and was surprised to feel a small pair of arms wrapping themselves around my waist.

"What's this hun?" Jennie asked sweetly.

I pulled away to turn to look at her, who was so effortlessly perfect with her slightly messy brown hair and wearing her precious gummy smile. My heart fluttered for the thousandth time today. She's the epitome of perfection.

"Dinner for the two of us." I managed to say while staring into her magnificent cat eyes.

"Well then, let me have a taste of your culinary skills Chef Manoban." She said teasingly as she tiptoed to press her lips against mine before walking over to the chairs.

I stood there for a few seconds dazed then snapping back to reality as Jennie called out to me giggling, raising her glass for a toast.
