《darling - n.mikaelson》02

Charlotte had been with Klaus for more than an hour now, and she quite literally hadn't spoken a word to.
It was more than evident that Klaus was someone who angered easily and Charlotte was doing her best to avoid death on her first day resurrected. She was certainly curious what exactly they were doing but Klaus paid her no attention nor offered an explanation, a little too distracted to bother interrogating the girl he'd taken.
Sitting on some strangers couch, she waited with her head buried in her hands as Klaus stood in the kitchen talking softly with the woman who'd first invited them in. The woman was a witch, Charlotte was sure of it, she radiated power but not in the way that vampires or wolves did. She radiated a power that Charlotte remembered from the Other Side with certain witches, a strength of will and magic that had always felt as though it could pull her back through the curtain.
This wasn't their first stop since leaving the Grill with Klaus. First they'd traveled down to a cellar in the woods where the vampire Caroline sat unconscious in chains with the wolf Tyler opposite. Klaus had bent down, rattling the wolf's chains in mocking, his ever-present smirk covering his face as he turned in glee to the disgusted Salvatore who stood nervously where he'd left her.
After his cruel taunt, Klaus had turned back away, continuing to make arrangements while Charlotte began edging to the doorway. Her eyes wanted to be anywhere but on him and she hoped the distraction of his task might allow her to steal her freedom. She'd actually had hope she could make it too but then suddenly he'd sped in front of her, clucking his tongue in disapproval and causing her breath to catch in her throat with fear.
Despite everything, he seemed more amused at her attempt than mad and all he did was grasp her arm and speed them off to the next place.
The woman's home was decorated in floral cushions, embroidery, and a sign that seemed to say 'Live laugh love'. It didn't quite suit her. Though she had no real basis for her expectations, Charlotte thought she seemed like more of an ultra minimalism type, empty shelves and white walls.
No style as a style.
Klaus' voice raised slightly, the murmuring almost audible and Charlotte leant in a little. Her head was still in her hands but it tilted slightly, hoping she might be able to catch something of their discussion.
Charlotte leaned in a little, her head still in her hands but tilted slightly to try to hear something of their discussion until it suddenly, pointedly, halted.
Glancing up she saw Klaus watching her attempt to eavesdrop, "No one likes a nosy Nancy, sweetheart," he called out with a smirk on his face. Blushing, she turned away quickly, shuffling back against the seat and laying her head back on the couch in resignation.

She wasn't quite sure how long they stayed at the house, at some point she got up to ask for the bathroom but the smirk was replaced by a glare and she sat back down, leaning back into her place. Crossing her arms over her chest her fingers fiddling, she tapped a long memorised pattern on her arm in an attempt to soothe herself. To distract herself from her thoughts running wild. Charlotte was worried for Elena, the doppelgänger soon to be vampire. She'd only known her for hours, but she could see how her brothers cared for her and she cared for them.
Charlotte had clung to the lives of her brothers for so long that she cared for their love by proxy. She was worried for Stefan, knowing how he'd struggled with his transition all those decades ago, she knew her compassionate baby brother was worrying of the girl he loved and the transition he was sure was coming. Having spent so much time struggling, she knew he'd be worried about how Elena would cope, he wouldn't want her to live like him, to feel the pain or lack of control like him.
She worried about Damon too, almost more than the others, she knew her brother, his impulsivity, the very thing which got them into this particular jam. His decision to feed Elena his blood meant Elena would surely be a vampire soon, his decision to taunt Klaus meant she was now sitting here on this strange woman's couch needing to pee.
She knew that everything Damon did was because he felt it was best. He tried at times to make people think he was heartless but as worst he was only selfish and scared. It had broken his heart when he lost Charlotte and he couldn't live losing anyone more so he did what he did to keep the people he cared for safe. He did it all out of love. He'd die before letting anything happen again to Charlotte, and she knew that his feelings for Elena ensured the same for her
Charlotte felt a foot tap hers pulling her from her trance, her fingers froze and she looked up realising Klaus now stood before her holding a hand out.
"Time to go, love."
There wasn't terribly much Charlotte could do, she didn't to be here any longer sat on a strangers couch, but she also didn't particularly want to follow him along on his next stop to bully someone into whatever he needed. Sighing she placed her hand in his, allowing him to pull her to her feet. Before she knew it, he'd dropped her hand for her upper arm and they were off again as he sped them away.
Within a blink of her eyes she now stood at an apartment door, a gold number 9 before them. She didn't know what was behind the door but she unconsciously took a step back, not wanting to be trapped again inside. Her reluctance was irrelevant however as she backed into Klaus who stood behind her. With an arm out to steady her, he reached around to open the door, raising his arm in a non optional invitation and she stepped inside.

Katherine Pierce was before them, pouring a cup of coffee though she'd stopped and turned, surprised at Klaus' return and then apparently more so at Charlotte beside him. Identical to Elena, she stood with curled hair and tight dark clothes, somehow so different from the girl Charlotte had known, and yet exactly the same. This wasn't the first time Charlotte had seen her, she'd watched her as she returned to Mystic Falls, killing Caroline, causing Tyler to trigger his curse, watching as she manipulated her brothers, over and over.
Charlotte was mad, but she was also compassionate like her brother, she hadn't seen her friend in a hundred and fifty years and she was hard pressed to blame Katherine as she stood beside Klaus.
"Charlotte," Katherine gasped with disbelief, placing the coffee pot down and stepping towards her before glancing to Klaus and reconsidering, faltering in her step, "God, you're alive! I can't believe it worked."
Charlotte took a tentative step towards her, hesitating for a moment, reliving the pain she'd caused, before brushing it aside, rushing towards her. Pulling her into a hug, the two unlikely friends reunited for a warm moment before separating, hands still together. Katherine turned to Klaus, masking her fear with concern at the obvious annoyance on his face.
"What have you been doing?"
"Making coffee, do you want some?" she replied with disinterest, dropping Charlottes hand and softly pushing her away. Not a moment too soon did she move before Klaus had rushed at them, hand at Katherines throat he held her in the air.
"Tell me what you've been doing."
Charlotte shuffled in her steps, moving forwards with the inclination to help before pulling herself back in worry. Back and forth she moved the panic falling off her body in waves as she watched on.
"Making coffee" Katherine choked out. He held her a moment longer, looking in her eyes for a hint of falsehood before dropping her to her feet, gasping for breath.
"Wait," he commanded, "Take off your bracelet," Katherine did as told, handing it to him, "Now. I want you to walk over to the window and stand in the sunlight."
"But I'll burn."
"You don't have a choice," Klaus took a sip of Katherines coffee as she slowly made her way past Charlotte to stand in the sun.
Katherine's screams of pain shook Charlotte from her fear and she moved to do something, close the curtains or pull her away, even just stand between her and the window. Just something to stop the burning. As she moved to help however a hand shot out gripping her upper arm, pulling her back away.
"No, no, love, not quite yet," Klaus chastised, keeping her in place.
"Klaus," she begged, her fingers trying unsuccessfully to pry his hand her arm, "please stop this." He ignored her, waiting a few moments more, watching as Katherines skin reddened and blistered from the sun without her bracelet to prevent harm.
"That's enough," he finally conceded, loosening his grip and allowing Charlotte to pry him off her. They watched as Katherine sped from the sun to the darkest corner in the room, curling into herself, "Hmm, guess I was wrong."
Turning his attention to the shaking Salvatore who was rubbing her freed arm and breathing deeply, he smiled sickeningly. She could feel her heart begin to pound and the terror build further now his focus was on her and her alone. She wanted to squeeze her eyes shut like a child's with her hands over her ears and wait till he left but she knew how useless that was a solution in reality.
"That is a lovely necklace you have on. May I see it?"
Charlotte stepped back, her hand clutched the necklace on her chest, shaking her head. She knew what would happen without her necklace, she didn't want him to have any opportunity to compel her, she didn't know what he could make her do without it.
"Come now sweetheart," Klaus advanced upon her, "I can borrow it for just a moment and return it, or I can rip it from your pretty little throat and toss it from the window. Your choice of course."
Standing before her he smiled, folding his hands behind his back and waiting patiently for her decision. Just as he was starting to regret giving the option, patience dwindling, she reached hesitantly up to her neck. Moving her hair to one side and unclasping the necklace, shaky hands depositing it into his waiting palm.
Raising her eyes to his, she could see the wolf in sheep's clothing clearly before her, his charming smile, ear to ear as she gave her only line of defence away. It made her stomach turn.
"Thank you," he reached up softly gripping her chin, not enough to bruise, but certainly enough to hold her in place, "You will not leave this apartment until I give you permission. Is that clear?"
"I will not leave the apartment until you give me permission"
"Lovely."

I was Reborn as the Villainess but I will become a Great Sage
Nova Allandis, formerly known as Suna Lee, remembers her previous life and realizes her current life is as the villainess in a fantasy novel she once read. However, as Suna, she was the laziest person with no motivation, possibly attributed to the fact that she didn't go into a major that was her strongest suit. Now that she has a high affinity towards magic and wishes to go into it, will she be able to change her lazy self for the better, or will she go back to being lazy like the villainess in the novel? Can she become a Great Sage and live life happily this time? Note: This is not a "revenge of the villainess" novel, but rather a "rise to fame" novel. A/N: This is just an experimental novel and criticisms are much appreciated, but I'm extremely defensive of my own work and characters. If you are here to put down a novel, please remember, first of all, you are not paying anything to read this, and second of all, authors are humans too.
