"Thank you for meeting me so early." I tell Caroline as she gives me the bag I asked her to bring. "Wait, didn't you wear that dress yesterday?" she asks me as I open up the bag to make sure she brought everything I needed.
"Yes. Why do you think I asked you to bring me clothes?" I question, giving her a look. "Oh, my god." she gasps, a smile forming on her face. I give her a worried look, "What?!"
"You slept with Klaus!" Caroline's voice beams throughout the quiet school hallway. "Caroline!" I hush her immediate with my hand covering her mouth. There was no students in the school ground yet, I think, but I still didn't want her to say that out loud.
I release my hand and take a deep breath. "No I didn't." I lie, throwing my heels in my locker. "Well, now you're lying to me. I can tell because one, I'm your best friend, and two, you're practically glowing."
"Just please keep your voice down! And don't you dare tell anyone." I point at her and she nods quickly with a smile. "So you did?! I promise I won't tell a soul."
I close my locker and turn to Caroline, who was still smiling. "What?" I sigh, making my way towards the school's bathroom. She tags along and squeals, "How was it?"
"Caroline!" I gasp, not expecting that from her. "What?! I wanna know. He's like a bazillion years old. I'm sure he has had plenty of experience."
I shake my head and ignore what just came out of her mouth. "Fine, you don't have to tell me. But, I do have to tell you something... Stefan and I think Elena is sired to Damon."
"What? Is that even possible?" I ask her and she nods. "Well, Stefan and I had a long talk about it last night. It all makes sense, right? Everything he says, she does, and everything he wants, she gives."
I stand there in awe, taking this all in. I was surprised, shocked even. "I can't believe this..."
"I talked to Tyler about it." she informs and I nod. "What'd he say?"
"The sire bond exists because the hybrids are grateful to Klaus for relieving them from the pain of having to wolf out every full moon, and that's why they have to turn until they're not ruled by the pain anymore." she explains.
"Right, but Elena's not a werewolf so what's the vampire equivalent?" I question. "Well, that's the problem. There isn't one."
"Stefan told me not to tell anyone, but since you're close with Klaus. I thought I should share this with you." she responds and tugs my arm. "So, please ask him."
I give her a look and she looks at me with pleading eyes. "Please!" Caroline begs and I nod. "Fine."

I step out of the school's bathroom and the hallways were already crowded with students. I put my belongings back into my locker and spot Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline at Elena's locker. I close mine and walk towards them.
"Elena, you sure everything is okay?" Bonnie asks my sister. "Yeah. Why wouldn't it be?" she questions. "Well, Caroline told me you had to move out to stay away from Jeremy."
"It's fine. Jeremy has Maya to keep his hunter stuff in control. Right?" Elena turns to me and I nod frantically. "Yes."

"Jeremy called, though. He said you weren't home... where were you?" Elena asks me and I look at Caroline for help and she immediately does. "She stayed over my house. We had a last minute project to work on."
Elena nods. "But are you okay? I mean, clearly, they don't have a flat iron at hotel Salvatore." Caroline changes the subject and I mentally thank her.
"Oh– I was in a rush. I mean– look, do you girls have any plans tonight? I'm in desperate need of some girl talk." She takes her hair out of the bun it was in.
"I'm in. Shane taught me some small spells I've been wanting to try." Bonnie replies and Caroline scoffs. "Oh, creepy professor guy is just Shane now."
"He's not creepy." Bonnie defends. "We're not judging." I chime in. "I am." Caroline states with her arms crossed.
"Don't listen to her. So, girls' night? We can raid the Salvatore wine cellar." Elena laughs and Caroline stirs uncomfortably. "Um, are you sure that Stefan and Damon are cool with us crashing at their place?"
"I can't go home because my brother is trying to kill me. So their place is mine now, too. I'll see you in a bit." Elena finalizes and rushes out to a classroom.
"I need to ask my English teacher a question about the homework. So, I'll see you two soon." Bonnie tells us and walks away.
§
"You left quite a bit early this morning, didn't you?" Klaus' voice whispers behind me. I close his front door before turning around to face him. "I had school."
His hands stay behind his back as he wanders around me. "Hmm,"
"I wa–" I start, but I was cut off by Klaus slamming me against the closest wall and he smirks. "Enjoy last night?"
I let out a gasp as my back hit the cold wall. I nod to his question and he tilts his head. He speeds us to a chair and now I'm straddling him. For some reason, he always wants me on top of him.
I cup his face and lean in to kiss him. He places his hands on my waist, pulling me close to him as possible. I let go of the kiss and he stares back at me. "Did you know Elena was sired to Damon?" I question.
He lets out a loud sigh before relaxing on the chair while I still sit on him. "And why do you think that?" he smirks, his eyes twinkling. I put my hands on his shoulder. "Because Stefan and Caroline figured it out, and you were leading on to something yesterday."
"Well, I can't just give you all the answers, now, can I?" he asks and I playfully roll my eyes at him. "Okay, fine. Tell me how to stop the sire bond."
He shakes his head with an amusing smirk. "I think the Salvatore brothers can figure this out on their own, hm?"
I squint my eyes, trying to figure out a way to make him spill. "I guess you're right." I tease and get off of him. "Anyways, I have a sleepover to attend to, so if you can excuse me,"
That was a lie. The sleepover doesn't start until 6 and it was barely 5. "Don't you think your friends can wait a little longer?" I hear Klaus behind me.
I turn to face him, a smile growing on my face. "Convince me."

"You're finally here! I thought you would never show up." Caroline giggles and closes the door. It was nighttime and I was finally excused from Klaus'...
Elena has brought a wooden crate into the parlor filled with wine bottles. "One for you." Elena hands the bottle to Bonnie. "One for you." She hands one to me. "And one for you." She hands another bottle to Caroline who takes it as well.
"Ooh." Caroline smiles. "I'm assuming this is for Caroline." Bonnie holds up a blood bag. Caroline reaches out for it, but Elena grabs it before she can.
"Actually, it's for me."
I furrow my eyebrows and exchange glances with Caroline and Bonnie. "Wait—what?"
"I thought—"
"Oh. Are you saying that—"
Elena drinks the blood bag and takes it out her mouth, showing us that she can now keep blood from a blood bag down. "Thanks to Damon, I am now a functional dysfunctional vampire."
"That's amazing." Bonnie chuckles in surprise. Caroline nudges me and gives me a look. "Uh, what do you mean 'thanks to Damon?'"
"Well, he suggested that I try it again. So I did and it worked. No more snatch, eat, erase." Elena responds and drinks more.
"So where is my least-favorite Salvatore?" Caroline asks as Elena sits on the couch opposite of Caroline and I.
She holds up her phone and reads the text message Damon sent her. "'Out with Stefan for the night, don't wait up. Brother bonding.'"
"Oh, so now you two text daily? What else do you do?" I chime in and Elena sends me a glare. "I know that you two are not the biggest fan, but he kind of just changed my life. Would you mind laying off on all the hate?"
Bonnie speaks up to break the tension between Elena, Caroline and I. "Okay, new girls' night rule—no boy talk, yeah? Plus, why talk when we have this?" She holds up a bag full of a black herb.
I gasp in surprise. "Bonnie! Is that stoner tea?!" Bonnie shoots me a glare and shakes her head. "It's spirit tea. It opens up your chi, or whatever."
I give her a look, not too convinced. "Come on, it's not drugs! Shane is helping me do natural magic without having to access the spirits." she points out.
"Mm-hmm." Caroline closes her eyes. "Don't judge."
Caroline looks at Bonnie, who stares back at her straight-faced. "Okay, fine! I hereby vow not to be judgmental for the rest of the evening! Even if you two are potentially ruining your lives as I stand idly by, it's your choice."
Bonnie looks at me. "Fine, I'll agree to that and not judge any of you guys." I confirm and Elena stands up. "I'll drink to that."
We all hold up our wine bottles while Elena touches our glasses with her blood bag. "Cheers!"
§
"Check this out: Vamp-speed video." Bonnie giggles and hands her phone for me to play it. We were currently all in Damon's bathroom. Elena and I were in his tub while Caroline and Bonnie were sitting on the edge. At this moment, we were all drunk and decided to hang up here.
"I look like Superman. Watch this." Elena laughs and pauses the video at the point where she is superspeeding back into the room. It shows a giant blur behind her due to the speed at which she is running. "This year's Christmas card."
"Being a vampire is so weird. Oh my God, I love this bathtub. Why don't we come and hang out here more often?" Elena gasps and laughs.
"I'll tell you why. Cooties. Think of all the germ-ridden skanks that Damon has lured into his den of enequity." Caroline jokes and I giggle along with her.
Elena sits up in the bath tub and does not look amused, as well as Bonnie. We stop laughing and Caroline purses her lips. "Okay, I'm sorry. I've been good all night. I am stopping now."
"No, don't stop on my account. Rip away. I mean, it's only Damon, right?" Elena sarcastically replied. "Well, say what you want about Ripper Stefan, but at least he wasn't a man slut." Caroline states.
"Come on." Bonnie shakes her head.
"So, what exactly was it about him that made you jump right into bed with him as soon as you met him?" Elena asks her and I widen my eyes.
"I didn't know what a sociopathic narcissist he was." Caroline says. I stir uncomfortably and sit up. Elena snaps her head to me, "Got anything you'd like to add? I know you want to."
I give her a look. I didn't even do anything besides move my position. "What's your problem?" I ask her and she rolls her eyes. "Why do you two even hate him? What did he do to you?"
"Something happened and he made a horrible comment about it." I simply say, not wanting to get into details.
"Well, what happened? Please, enlighten me." Elena responds and I roll my eyes. "Nothing, nothing."
"Something obviously happened and I should know." she says. "Just because you're my sister, doesn't mean you have to be so nosy." I get up from the tub.
Elena pulls me down and stares at me in the eye. "What happened with you and Damon?"
I scoff, yanking her off of me. "Did you just try to compel me?"
"That was the only way to get it out of you." she replies like it was nothing. "Are you forgetting I'm a hunter? I'm gonna drink vervain daily."
"I sometimes forget, knowing you've been useless for the past few months." Elena tells me and I was taken back.
"Hey, that's not true." Bonnie assures. "Really? It's not? She hasn't done anything to help us. She's been on and off and we barely know where she's going."
"You really want to know what happened?" I ask, crossing arms and she nods. I was still drunk and I was furious at the moment. So, whatever secret I was going to spill didn't matter.
"I kissed Klaus." I tell them and all three of them gasped. "What? You did what?"
"You hate me, so why not have you all hate me." I shrug, not including Caroline and get out of the tub. "You're the biggest hypocrite, Maya." I hear Elena say behind me.
I turn around and let her continue. "You give me shit about Damon, yet here you are, making out with the original hybrid. Do you have any idea what he's done to us?!"
I didn't say anything and she breathes out a sarcastic chuckle. "Damon has always been there for me when I needed him. Klaus can't and would never do the same to ." she finalizes.
"Yeah, because Damon's hoping you'll sleep with him and you have what Klaus has done for me." I respond. "Well, maybe I did sleep with him." Elena replies and I raise an eyebrow, not surprised.
Elena gets up from the tub and struts down the stairs. I follow behind her and she begins to pick up all the extra paper cups in the parlor.
"Elena, come on." Bonnie says from behind me. "Party is over. You guys need to leave."
"Don't be mad, okay? We're just looking out for you." Caroline nods. Elena turns around and looks at us. "Do you think it makes me happy that you guys hate him? I get it. His track record has been kind of spotty but I don't hate him. I can't. He's—I think I'm falling in love with him."
"Ugh, you're not falling in love with him, Elena. You're sired to him." Caroline crosses her arms and I nudge her.
"What are you talking about?" Elena questions. "I... look, I'm sorry that it came out like that, but it's true. Damon's blood turned you. You couldn't feed from animals or blood bags because he told you so. Then he suggested that you try again with blood bags and suddenly..."
"No. There's no way, I..." Elena looks down. "Are you sure?" Bonnie asks Caroline, who nods. "Yeah. Ask Stefan about it. He can explain it better than I can."
Elena looks over at her angrily, but not as angry as when she was talking to me. "I'm sorry, you talked to Stefan about this?"
"It's not your fault, Elena. Okay, Damon took advantage of you." I chime in and Elena looks at me. "Who are you to talk when you're sleeping around with Klaus? I want you out of here, now!"
I didn't move a muscle and she squints her eyes angrily. "I said leave, Maya!" she retorts and I still didn't move.
She speeds to me, her fangs sticking out. I fall to the ground and Elena looks down at her stomach. I gasp, realizing I just stabbed her with the extra stake I hid in my boot.
I quickly back away, standing up. I look down at Elena who's hissing in pain. "Why did you do that?" Bonnie asks me, rushing to Elena.
"I—she was going to attack me! What else was I going to do? It was a hunter's instinct." I tell her, my shaky hands moving my hair out of the way.
Caroline and Bonnie were hovering over Elena and I sigh, feeling extremely nervous and shaky. "I–I'm sorry, Elena. I–" I stop myself, realizing no one was listening to me. "I think I'm going to go,"
§
I close the front door and make my way into the room where Klaus is peacefully sitting on his couch, in front of the fireplace and sketching a drawing on a piece of paper. I join the seat next to him.
"You're here early." he says softly, his finger lightly sliding against the paper to smooth out his work of art. "I stabbed Elena."
His head snaps up immediately, his eyebrows raised. "Pardon?"
I turn my whole body facing towards him. "It was on accident, kind of. She went to attack me, but I don't blame her since she's new to bring a vampire... and then I stabbed her as a reflex."
He puts aside his drawing and leans closer to me, observing me. "Did she hurt you?"
"No." I respond quickly and he leans back into his position. "Good because I would have hurt her in ways she could not imagine."
I throw him a look, not really sure if he was joking or if he really meant it. A light smirk appears on his face and he picks up his drawing and goes back to where he was.
"Don't you worry, love. They will all soon get over it. Similar to my siblings and I. I shove a dagger in their hearts yet they're still standing by my side."
I knew he was right. I know for a fact Elena will blame herself for this once she calms down and will be throwing apologizes at me.
My tongue slides across my lips as I slide closer to Klaus. My shoulders matching up to him as I continue to watch him bring his pencil to the paper.
He suddenly stops. His hands removes his art next to him and replaces it with the tip of my chin, guiding my face to him. His eyes twinkle at the sight of mine, observing me. "You are exquisitely beautiful, you know that?"
"I do now..." My words were soon sealed by his own lips.
