"Okay, so remind me again why you're taking me here?" I ask Stefan as we sneak into Klaus' home. Stefan wanted more answers about 'The Five.' Apparently, Klaus called this hunter; whose name is Connor, one of the fives.

"Klaus probably won't give me answers unless you're there." he answers. "What does me being there going to do?" I play along with my lie. "Klaus would've let Elena die if he wasn't so interested in you."

"Oh, so you're going to use me as advantage?" I ask, crossing my arms. "Wha– no, no. I'm not doing that." he says and shushes me, "Shh, Klaus has his place surrounded with hybrids." he whispers once we got in. As if I didn't know that, I thought.

I nod, tiptoeing on the floor. "Wouldn't they catch my scent?" I ask him and he rolls his eyes, "Then put my jacket on to hide it." he does as he says and hands me his jacket once he takes it off. "Okay,"

He puts one finger up and points to one of the doors. I nod as he inhuman speeds over there and opens the door quietly, going in. I start to follow his actions when someone stops me, "Who are you?"

I look up at the man, one of Klaus' hybrids, who was holding my shoulder very tightly. I swallow thickly before standing up straight, "I'm Klaus' girlfriend, Maya," I lie, "you should expect me to be here more often."

The hybrid lets go of my shoulder and puts his hands behind his back, "Oh. Sorry, mam."

I nod confidentially, "Where is he by the way?" I ask, looking around. "He went to the mystic grill. He should be back any minute." he answers before scurrying off.

I let out a huge sigh of relief before walking to the room that Stefan was in. I open the door and couldn't find Stefan anywhere, but only to find a man chained up to a piece of wood. "Oh,"

I, then, feel a presence behind me, startling me.

"Hello," Klaus' thick accent says behind me. He walks over to the chained man and began to speak, "Looks like I'll have to beef up the hybrid security detail."

Stefan walks out of the shadows. "I was gonna take him, but I figured you went through such trouble to truss him up in your red room of pain."

"It's from the Inquisition. I thought it was a nice touch." Klaus smirks. "What'd you get out of Connor?" Stefan asks, stepping forward.

"Not enough." he answers, "He's mum about the Council fire and he's not saying anything about this greater evil we're all supposed to be shivering over. What brings you snooping?"

"Well, I can't say it in front of him. As I'm sure you've figured out, our friend here can't be compelled." Stefan replies. Klaus looks over to to Connor, "You're full of mysteries, aren't you?"

"I told you, I don't know anything." Connor spats. Klaus grins, "Thankfully, I know plenty."

Klaus walks out of the room and gestures for Stefan and I to follow him. "Shall we?" I let out a breath before walking up to Klaus as Stefan trails behind me. Klaus shuts the doors to Connor's prison room and turns us.

"So, what's with the home invasion?" he turns his head to Stefan. "Damon said you knew something about this guy. Now, I should have figured out that you were up to something when you healed Elena from the werewolf poison without asking for anything in return." Stefan responds.

"I was feeling benevolent." Klaus shrugs, grinning. "You're never benevolent." Stefan crosses his arms, "Who is this guy? What's the Five?" he demands.

Klaus clicks his tongue, "So many questions." Stefan sits down on one of the couches, "It's a good thing I have nothing to do today, except get answers out of you."

"Fine," Klaus sighs, "you might actually be useful in persuading my sister to cooperate." he walks away from the door and into the room.

He sits on one of the couches and looks at me, "Please, come sit." he smirks. The only open seat was next to him. I nod and walk towards him but Stefan stops me with his voice, "You can take my seat, I can stand."

I turn to face him, he obviously didn't want me sitting next to Klaus. I gave him a look with a small smile, "It's fine, Stefan."

I take a seat next to Klaus as he gives Stefan an amusing smirk. "Shall we start?"

"The brotherhood of the Five was a group of highly skilled vampire hunters. We crossed paths with them in the 12th century Italy." he begins his story.

"My siblings and I had followed the Normans as they conquered the South. Feeding, turning people as we went." he continues. "But with the bloodshed came exposure."

He starts to tell us that one of the hunters, Alexander, would put on a show, burning vampires without their daylight rings for the audience to see. Alexander

also had a thing for Rebekah.

I jump in the conversation, finally speaking, "These hunters have been around for nine hundred years?" Klaus nods, "Apparently. Though our friend in the other room is the first I've seen since then. Kind of makes you wonder what they've been up to all these years."

"And Rebekah had a thing with one of them?" Stefan questions. He shakes his head in return, "Oh, she didn't just have a thing. She fell in love with him. He told her all his secrets. Which I will gladly share with you provided you do one thing for me."

"And what's that?" Stefan asks. "Get Rebekah over here. She's being stubborn and hateful. I need to make peace with her." Klaus gets up, "I want her to give me some very important information about the hunter which she won't do, unless she believes we've made up."

Stefan gets up as well, "And what's in it for me?"

"Just get her here and I'll tell you. Oh, and Stefan, trust me when I say this; that hunter in there holds the answer to all your prayers."

Stefan looks over to me, "You okay with staying here by yourself?" I nod, "Yeah, I'll be fine." Stefan nods for the last time and walks out of the house.

Klaus turns to me, "Let's go check on the hunter." I sigh, nodding my head slowly. "Or," I walk over to Klaus and grab his face, bring it closer to me. I slowly kiss him, "we can do this."

"I'll have Nate check on him." he whispers against my ear, kissing down my neck. I pull away, "Will we be interrupted?" I place my lips on his jawline.

"Not unless," he uses his vampire strength and zooms us into a room, "we're in my room." he sets me on his bed and shuts his door, quickly.

"Now, where were we?"

He bent down, his lips against my cheek, brushing it lightly, that light touch sent shivers through my nerves, making me shiver in delight. "If you want me to stop, tell me now," he whispers.

When I said nothing, he brushes his mouth against the hollow of my temple. "Or now," he traces the line of my cheekbone. "or now." his lips were against mine, moving them in sync.

"Or–" I cut him off by reaching up and pulling him down to me, and the rest of his words were lost against my mouth.

He kissed me gently, carefully, but it wasn't the gentleness that I wanted, not now, not after all this time, and I knotted my fists in his shirt, pulling him harder against me. He's Klaus, he's supposed to be rough.

He groans softly, low in his throat, and then his arms circled me, gathering me against him, and we rolled over on the bed, still kissing one another.

I flip him over, me being on top. "You don't have to be so gentle," I whisper, leaning down to his ear and kissing his jawline, all the way down to his neck.

"As you wish." he mumbles before flipping us over, him hovering over me. "Why are you wearing Stefan's jacket?" he questions, a smirk placed on his lips.

"I thought it would hide my scent from your hybrids," I tell him. "Ah," he grins, taking it off of me. "one day your scent will vanish," he fully takes off the jacket and throws it on the floor, "and my scent will be yours."

His hands roam around my body, causing me to gasp. His lips grasps onto my neck, sucking harshly, yet gently. He grabs the end of my shirt, about to take it off, but he stops. He looks back up at me, smirking, "Stefan's back,"

He climbs off the bed, going to his mirror to fix his hair. He turns back around to look at me before flashing out of his room.

I let out a small laugh before shaking my head, "That bastard."

-

I stand across from Klaus as we stare at the hunter, Connor; who groans. "You feeling alright, mate? Are the shackles too tight?" he turns his head, "Welcome home, sister."

Rebekah and Stefan walk into the room, "Is this a trick? How do you know he's one of the Five? Where's his bloody tattoo?"

"Oh, the tattoos aren't visible on this lot like they were on the last. Let's eat."

Klaus walks out of the room and Rebekah and I follow him. We sit at the table, Rebekah and Klaus by my side, and Stefan across from me.

A girl with a short skirt comes our way and serves us our food. "Thank you, my lovely." Klaus hums. I scoff, causing all heads to turn my direction, "Sorry." I say, faking a cough.

The girl walks off and Klaus begins his conversation, "I could kiss the Council for burning up all the vervain in town. They made my life so much easier. Rebekah, love, eat your veggies."

Rebekah scoffs, "I'm not eating until you apologize." Klaus sighs, "For which indiscretion? There have been so many."

"You broke my neck." she crosses her arms. "You threw away Elena's blood so I can't make any more hybrids." he confirms. "Because you took me for granted." she responds.

"That's what big brothers do, sweetheart!"

"Let me just name the million other people I'd rather be having dinner with right now." Stefan jumps in.

"Alright, fine. I'm sorry. I often forget how delicate you are. Forgive me?" Klaus apologizes. "I'll take it under consideration."

"Okay, good. Now, why don't you tell me about Rebekah's hunter?" Stefan asks. Klaus nods, "Right, Alexander. Nice chap foregoing the obvious issues."

"He was looking for creatures of the night which is why we felt quite safe around him wearing our daylight rings. Elijah, Rebekah, and I had him over to dinner for a little chat. There were only five of them, caused by a witch," Klaus states. "Hmm, he also stated there was an ultimate weapon that no vampire can survive."

"So, this is all about a weapon?" I ask, and Rebekah shakes her head, "Not just any weapon."

"Rebekah, love, don't get ahead of the story." Klaus stops her. "How is a weapon the answer to all my prayers?" Stefan cuts in.

Rebekah and Klaus look at each other, but don't say anything. Stefan looks at them annoyed, "Okay. Why don't we just skip with the theatrics and get right to the point?"

"Not quite yet, because in order to find this weapon, we need to solve the puzzle. Which seems to have disappeared." he grins.

"Uh, what puzzle?" I ask, confused. Klaus raises his eyebrows, adding a smirk. "The tattoo. What is it?"

"A map. Leading us to its treasure." Klaus tells us. "Fat lot of good a tattoo's gonna do, if we can't see it." Rebekah rolls her eyes.

"We can't, but someone else can." he turns to the short skirt girl, "Why don't you tell the hybrid to bring him in, love?"

The girl nods walks out of the room. "You see, the hunter was so eager to get to the bottom of his mystery tattoos that he mentioned there was only one other person that can see them." Klaus says.

The hybrid walks back in the room with Jeremy in his grasp. I furrow my eyebrows, standing up and walking towards my brother, only to be stopped by Klaus, who puts his hand on my chest. He shakes his head, motioning me not to move.

Stefan super speeds out of his chair towards Jeremy. Klaus rushes past Stefan and stands between him and Jeremy. "I wouldn't. Lucky for us, young Jeremy here, is a bit of an artist."

"I'm not helping you with anything." Jeremy retorts, moving his eyes to mine. He tilts his head, probably confused as in why I was here.

The hybrid grabs Jeremy's hand and takes his ring off. He tosses it to Klaus who catches it and holds it up for Jeremy to see. "Oh, I'm afraid you are."

I clench my jaws, letting out a loud sigh. The hybrid drags Jeremy to the room where Connor was. I knew I couldn't go after him, for his safety.

"So, tell me more about this tattoo." Stefan says, sitting back down on the chair. Klaus looks at his sister, "My sister's suitor was unwilling to tell us anything. Rebekah, however, was more than willing to investigate. Isn't that right?"

Rebekah looks down, ashamed. I sit back down, waiting to hear the rest of the story.

"My sister's boyfriend threw a slumber party that night. He and his brothers put us all down in our sleep. Elijah, Kol, Finn, and me." he looks at Rebekah. "How was I supposed to know?" she asks.

Klaus raises his glass, "Cheers, to my sister's uncanny ability to choose men."

"I thought the daggers didn't work on you because of your werewolf side." I claim, confused. He smirks, "They don't."

Klaus then looks at his sister, "Go ahead, Rebekah. Tell him. Tell him what the hunter told you the tattoo leads to. What is this great weapon that could bring about the end of the vampire species?"

"A cure. He said there was a cure." Rebekah confesses. Klaus gets up and Stefan follows him, "There is no cure for vampirism."

Rebekah sighs, "He's telling the truth, Stefan." he shakes his head, "Then why wouldn't you have searched for it, found it?"

Rebekah gets up as well, I follow and Klaus is in the parlor, pouring himself a drink. "Because when the hunters drew their final breath that night, the marks disappeared from their body, the map was gone, the brotherhood of the Five extinct. For nine hundred years, there was not a whisper of another hunter, until our friend in there showed up in town."

"Well, now we have the map, what do we do next?" Rebekah questions.

"We don't do anything. You can't be trusted, little sister. You'll be blabbing this secret to the first boy who calls you pretty. I mean, it's pathetic, really, isn't it? How she continues to hand her heart to any man who shows her a hint of affection. You'd think she would have learned by now from the endless cycle of disappointment and deception."

I bite the insides of my cheeks, not seeing this side of Klaus. Yes, I've seen the mean Klaus, but not this type of Klaus that would talk about his own sister like this.

"But, I haven't, instead I stayed with you and let you leech every moment of happiness from my life! You know, at least I fared better then Finn, Klaus left him daggered because he was tired of his judgment."

"No, Finn was a dullard. He was more interesting lying in a box." Klaus replies.

"You want the cure for Elena, don't you? So you can go back to mass producing your hybrids. That's why you brought Stefan here, because you knew that he'd help you even though he hates your guts! You know what? You can shove your cure." Rebekah retorts

She turns back at me, "And look at you, Maya. You choose to show love and affection towards Nik when you don't know who he really is. Well, I hope you realized that today," she tells me before walking out of the house.

Klaus smirks and turns to face Stefan. "Well, I hope you got what you wanted out of her before you chased her off." Stefan says.

"She never would have told me what I needed to know. But she'll tell you." Klaus raises an eyebrow. "What do you need me to find out?" he asks.

"The map is useless without the tool to decipher it." Klaus carries on. "The sword."

Klaus nods, "She knows where it is. And you're gonna get her to tell you. You have a chance to save Elena from the very thing that is going to destroy her. You can call it a deal with the devil, if you like. But you know you won't walk away from it."

-

I walk into the room that Jeremy was in, who is still sketching the tattoo and Klaus enters the room. Klaus looks at his work. "Nice lines. Now, if you could just hurry it up a little bit."

Jeremy gets up and hands the sketchpad to Klaus and Klaus takes it. "I'm done."

Klaus looks at the sketch and walks closer towards Connor. "What is this?"

"It's the tattoo." Jeremy asks.

Klaus turns around and grabs Jeremy by the throat. "Klaus!" I gasp, telling him to put my brother down but he wouldn't listen.

"I've seen the tattoo, you impertinent punk. There's more to it." Klaus seethes. "That's all of it. He says every time he kills a vampire it spreads." my brother confirms.

Klaus throws Jeremy back into a chair. He turns and looks at Connor. "Nate!" Klaus tells.

A hybrid, Nate, walks in. "Tell the girl to take Jeremy home." he then points at Connor, "Keep this one alive at all costs."

"No," I step forward, "I'll take Jeremy home." I say, grabbing Jeremy's arm. Klaus motions for Nate to leave the room and turns to face Jeremy, "Why don't you wait outside for a second."

Jeremy scoffs and looks at me. I pull out my keys and hand them to him, "Start the car, I'll be out in a minute." Jeremy rolls his eyes before leaving.

Klaus puts his hand on my shoulder, raising his eyebrow, "What's wrong, love?"

I shake my head, "Nothing, I just saw a different side of you today." I confess, not making eye contact. "What do you mean?" he asks.

I take a deep breath, "I just–" I was cut off by Connor, "Ah, I see. He's nicest to you, you two are a thing. Keeping it a secret, like a high school couple, not wanting the parents to find out," he breaths out a chuckle.

Klaus was about to say something but I cut him off, "Jeremy's waiting. I should probably get going, night." I sigh, leaving the 'red room of pain'.
