Todoroki's POV:

I grabbed the handle to another door, probably leading to the livingroom. However, this time the door was locked.

I frowned in frustration and kicked the door open.

"Katsuki!"

What I saw before me was something terrible, horrifying.

Before my eyes, I saw Katsuki, shirtless, and in full tears.

He had several bruises and on top of him was an old man who reeked of another alpha.

I stiffened at the sight.

That other alpha dared to touch what was mine?

I growled aggressively and I wouldn't even want to imagine the murderous look on my face.

I grabbed the man by his shoulder and tugged him aside with all my might.

Though, I wasn't done yet.

He sat up again after hitting the wall with a loud thud.

"Ow.. Oh? How unpleasant. An alpha brat. That kid's yours? Strange, I didn't see a mark."

The geezer would even mock me at a time like this?

I was so furious I wanted to end him right where he was.

He chuckled loudly.

"Bullseye, kiddo? If so, go home. I'm taking my son back. This time I won't let you escape, Katsuki!"

Son..? You had to be kidding me..

I looked down.

This disgusting man was Katsuki's father?

I wrapped my hands around his neck.

I tightened my grip and faced him with a brutal smile.

"Listen up you nasty old fuc- I mean father-in-law to-be. I'd love to just kill you right here, but I think I'll have you arrested instead.. I have strong connections and I'll not hesitate to contact them if anything where to happen to Katsuki or his mother. Am I making myself clear?"

I heard stifled, suffocating groans coming from his lips. He looked as if he wanted to say something, but the lack of air kept him from speaking.

My grip tightened and tightened until his face turned almost blue.

"To-Todoro-ki, no..!"

A weak voice was heard from behind me and I instantly let go of the man realising what I had done.

I turned around and met Katsuki's sore gaze. I hurried over to him. "Katsuki, are you okay?!"

The wounds covering his body looked even worse up close.

I tore a piece of my shirt off and applied pressure to his most critically bleeding wound.

"...I'm fine.."

His voice sounded a bit better already.

"Fine? My ass. Do you have any kind of first aid kit? We need to stop the bleedings now."

My voice was shaking by the thought of losing him.

"There is, in the-" A cough interrupted his sentence. "D-drawer." He continued, one more cough escaping his dry lips.

"It's o-okay. I won't leave you, Shōto." He said as if he had read my mind, and a weak smile spread across his face.

That was the first time he'd used my first name, and I was honestly feeling a bit flustered.

When I tuned around to look for the drawer and to hide the fact that my face was kind of flushed, I paid attention to that Katsuki's father was gone.

He had escaped while I treated Katsuki, and I strangely didn't even notice..

"...he got away."

I was disappointed with myself and I clenched my fists in frustration.

I'm sorry Katsuki..

Katsuki's POV:

I didn't want Todoroki to see me like this, in my most vulnerable state.

I was ashamed. Ashamed of believing I could take my alpha father on with a harsh attitude and weak personality.

I was just a nobody, a fucking useless nobody.

Another set of tears were burning in my eyes, threatening to fall down my already damp cheeks.

I closed my eyes and I managed to cover my mouth with my hand to prevent the sobs from being heard.

The sound of Todoroki searching through the drawer was everything I could hear. Other than that, the room was completely silent.

He seemed to have found the first aid kit as the sound abruptly stopped. The next thing I saw was him sprinting towards me in full speed, almost tripping on the way.

He kneeled down and treated the wounds that bled the most.

I was finally able to relax, and I eventually realized that I was so exhaused my body had went numb.

Todoriki seemed to have taken notice to it as well.

He called my name to make sure I was still conscious.

Todoroki's eyes were filled with concern.

I wanted to laugh at how amazingly stupid he looked while desperately trying to get me to respond to his calls. I didn't complain though, I was honestly happy about him paying attention to me.

He embraced me, who had only faint energy left to keep my eyes slightly open.

He was warm.

Being in his arms felt like being in my own comfortable zone without any pain or sorrow, only his warmth.

I wanted to stay in that environment forever.

His scent was so pleasant it kept me hanging on to my consciousness, but I had a feeling it wouldn't last very long.

I heard how he dialled a number. It was without a doubt 911 he was calling. I simply noticed on the way his muscles tensed up even more than before.

I couldn't make out all the words as he uttered anymore, but I could tell he stated something about a case of abuse.

The phone call was quick and his attention was once again back to me.

"... fine, prom-s-.. Stay .... me."

Those words which I couldn't interpret properly, were the last things I heard before my consciousness faded away.

Third person POV:

Todoroki held Katsuki close, his soulmate's head leaning on his firm chest.

His heart was pounding rapidly and his feelings had become a mixed mess of worry, anger, hate and strangely enough, a warm fuzzy feeling he'd never felt before.

He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on the unconscious omega's forehead.

He mainly blamed the vague, unfamiliar feeling on the bond.

Obviously, he was beginning to develop romantic feelings towards Katsuki.

What he wasn't aware of, was that love had no relation to the soulbond whatsoever.

Todoroki Shōto was just too isolated to realize.

He was so isolated that his understanding of love in all kinds of ways had become so dull it had almost completely faded.

Just what was hidden in the dark depths of the mysterious businessman's past? What could've possibly have made him so unaware of the meaning behind his feelings..?
