After the call had ended, Jungkook asked the Hyungs for help, knowing he couldn't save Taehyung without help. He felt like the Hyungs could replace the help Jeongshan got in the movie with which he was able to finally defeat Akma.
Chris might've been the creator of the plot, but Jungkook could see right through him.
The first message Jungkook received from Chris was a riddle, spoken in the exact words of the script and Jungkook grit his teeth in anger when he saw the picture attached to the message. It was Taehyung, again dressed in that stupid dress of the fictional prince, cuffed against a rough stone wall.
Fear was written all over his face. Jungkook checked his boyfriend for injuries, calming a little bit when he saw none, knowing that Taehyung, at least for now, was safe. Still, that didn't mean that he was out of danger, Chris was insane and was capable of anything.
"I feared this happened... Chris really turned insane. I'm so sorry you and your boyfriend got pulled into that mess", Jackson Wang said regretfully. He had offered his help which Jungkook gladly took. Jackson was possibly the only one understanding Chris' insanity as he grew up with the man.
"Help us find our friend then", Namjoon said. All their friends sat on the table in Jungkook's dining room, staring at the printed out photos and messages, trying to find a hint.
Jackson's face was filled with sorrow. He had dark rings under his eyes and looked like he didn't sleep for days. Jungkook was the same. How could he rest when he knew that his lovely boyfriend was in the claws of a sick psycho?
"I really don't know where Chris brought your friend", he said unhappily. Yoongi groaned.
"Didn't he mention a place like, what was that, like this tower?"
"No... he stopped talking to me years ago, especially after I became a rapper and moved back to China. Our parents have always told him to get out of his fanatic fantasies", Jackson explained, picking up Chris' last message.
"But I know my brother. He was obsessed with his script so I bet he would try to recreate the plot in reality. Means, that he could have hidden Taehyung in a maze", he explained, turning to face Jungkook while Namjoon picked up the last photo of Taehyung, analyzing it together with Seokjin who had faint tear streaks on his face.

"Are they maybe, corn mazes nearby? That are the only labyrinths I can think of. I honestly doubt Chris would create one on his own, plus it would be too easy to find", the rapper reasoned. Jungkook frowned, deep in thoughts before he groaned frustrated.
Hoseok understood his way of thoughts and chose to answer instead.
"It's October, there are like a thousand built across and around the city", he said frustrated while Jungkook buried his head in his hands. "He could've hidden him anywhere", he said miserably.
Bile rose in his throat. He had so little time, Taehyung was in danger and he couldn't even find him! Jungkook felt useless and hopeless. How could he find Taehyung like this?
"Wait." It was Namjoon's voice to raise sudden hope inside of Jungkook's chest and he turned to look at his friend.
Namjoon had taken out his phone, the flashlight illuminating the picture he held in his hand. His eyes were fixed on a specific part and when he turned the picture to let Jungkook see what he had spotted, Jungkook's eyebrows shot up.
"That's a number... Tae's holding up a number." He narrowed his eyes on Taehyung's hands, almost lost in the dark of the room. But now that Namjoon held up his flashlight, Jungkook could see his boyfriend's hands more clearly. His fingers were bent, forming two numbers.
"Three and five... does anyone know what that could mean? I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the korean cities", Jackson said who had glanced over Jungkook's shoulder to look where Namjoon was pointing it.
Yoongi seemed to be in deep thoughts before he suddenly snapped his fingers as realization hit him.
"Wait... I think I know what this is. It's an eight. There are 25 districts in Seoul, Tae could mean a district!", he exclaimed, eyes wide. Jimin and Hoseok by his side praised him silently, the small male blushing before trying to hide his red cheeks from them, acting as if he wasn't smiling brightly by their praises.
"Where's district 8?", Jackson asked him but Namjoon answered him while Jin had pulled out his phone.

"It's Gangseo-gu, western part of Seoul", he said and Seokjin nodded along his boyfriend's words. "Let me see if I can find any corn mazes or such in there."
"Taehyung could've seen something. Maybe he's giving us a hint", Namjoon said, offering the picture to Jimin who took it. His eyes were bloodshot and he had stayed silent most of the time. He was the one, next to Jungkook, who was the most upset. Hoseok next to him squeezed his shoulder when Jimin exhaled a shuddering breath.
"Namjoon Hyung, try to find any corn maze with a tower or something like that in the middle. It has to be made out of rough stone, according to the wall Tae's cuffed to. I bet Chris would try and recreate the movie plot the best he can", Jungkook hurried to say, following his intuition.
Namjoon nodded and went to work alongside Seokjin. Yoongi's rough voice interrupted the sudden silence.
"Okay, what the fuck is up with that dude. And can one of you please tell me about the movie plot, I only know bits because I haven't cared before and because honestly, it's a stupid movie", he spoke irritated. Jimin let out a sobbed laugh before growing silent again.
Jackson and Jungkook shared a glance.
"The description of the entire movie plot is basically inspired by multiple fairytales as well as Chris' wish to win. He said that he was seen as the villain next to me by my parents. In the original story, the villain wins", Jackson explain briefly, suddenly looking very pale. Guilt clearly stood in his eyes.
"I feel like it's all my fault", he then heaved out in a whisper. Jungkook squeezed his shoulder, to everyone's surprise.
"It isn't your fault. It's Chris for making you the villain", Jungkook tried to soothe Jackson's burning guilt. "But it is my fault he is suffering! It's my fault I became successful, I knew that my parents always wanted Chris to be like me... and I made it worse for him", Jackson cried out helplessly.
"I'm truly sorry for what I've caused you and your boyfriend, Jungkook", he apologized to Jungkook, tears in his eyes. Jungkook shook his head.
"The only fault has Chris. He kidnapped Tae, not you", he said fiercely. Jackson stared into space before nodding slowly. "I will do anything to help you stop him. But he's still my brother. Don't hurt him, let me call the police. He needs help, more help than I can give him", he begged Jungkook who nodded after a moment of thought.
Jackson smiled thankfully before continuing with his explanation on the plot, helping the others to understand of what extend Chris' insanity had grown.
"Chris sees himself as the evil wizard Akma who is, just like his name said, the villain of the story. He meets the young Prince of a kingdom, Prince Taehwa who's played by Taehyung. Akma promises to take the prince as his bride on his eighteenth birthday. The main love interest is called king Jeongshan, played by Jungkook."
"Who's seen as the real villain by Chris", Yoongi concluded and Jackson nodded.
"Yes. In the movie, Akma is stopped by the white wizard and turned into stone but his prophecy stays", he shuddered, eyes unfocused, "Chris once told me that he based the white wizard on me... the perfect version my parents wanted him to be."
Jackson shook his head. "Akma turns back human on Taehwa's birthday and appears in the ballroom in order to kidnap the prince. Jeongshan follows him, finds the maze where Akma holds Taehwa imprisoned and fights against Akma's dragon, killing the dragon and Akma before finally reuniting with Taehwa and living happily ever after. At least in the movie version."
"What happens in Chris' original version, where the villain wins?", Hoseok asked slowly, yet Jungkook already knew the answer deep down inside of him.
Jackson threw him a glance.
"Akma kills the King."

Not knowing of the plans of the witch that once scorched the lands, and unknowing of the abyss that beckons him forth. This harmless sweetie watches the stories of those around him. Chimera
Eleanor meant the world to Titus. So when an opportunity to bring her murderer to justice appears, Titus jumps on the chance. His quest, however, would mean traversing the dangerous world of Nivandor, a land infested with monsters, night hunters, and corrupt kings–nothing he and his lord, Lady Priscilla, couldn't handle. Their plans change, however, when both of them are dragged into a nightmare realm, a dimension filled with strange and powerful terrors unlike any they've ever faced. Titus's skill as a kinetic mage is put to the ultimate test as he must work with his lord to fight off the increasingly dangerous monsters that hunt them as they hunt down the three remaining Seraph lords sustaining the Nightmare. For only when the final Seraph lord is slain will the Nightmare truly end. --- Happy Holidays! I tried to get a chapter out this month, but there was just too much stuff to do and I got sick. There will also be more stuff to do come the month of December to the point that I don't think I will have a chance to finish the current story arc on a strong note. So, as of today, I will be going on hiatus until the holidays are over. I will hopefully return with the last few chapters of book 2 as well as the DLC chapters to help clarify Titus and Priscilla's powers as well as a look into their lives before the story gets crazy (maybe 6-7 chapters). These chapters are planned to take place in the day between Chapter 1.4 & Chapter 1.5, detailing the day they had before going to Nivandor. How the DLC chapters will be titled is to be decided. The DLC chapters will be posted here free as usual. Really excited to get a break so I can catch up on chapters. Even more excited to be able to start book 3 once the current story arc is finished. Warmly, Daniel --- Disclamer: This story is not a finished product and will be undergoing changes, sometimes significant changes, as the story develops. Think of it as an early access story where nothing is fully set in stone. If I change a part of the story that you really love, I'm sorry, but changing one part of the story will affect the other parts I try to avoid major changes, especially in older chapters, but for the newer ones there will probably be more fine tuning. As for anyone invested in the story who is not happy with the way the story is going, feel free to DM me so I can get feedback. I want to know how you guys feel about the story, what changes I can make, at what point in the story I may have lost you. But until I get specific feedback, I won't know what changes might need to be made. There are about 14 chapters left for Part 2 of Chimera, give or take. I don't have a time frame for when they will be up but know I am chipping away at the chapters as I can. Warm Regards, Daniel --- Cover art credit goes to Brosedesignz, who has an awesome selection of both premade and custom book covers at great prices on her website. She can also be found at thebookcoverdesigner.com, which is where I found my cover.
