4 years later...
"Hello, Dr. Y/n speaking. May I know who I'm speaking to?" I chimed through the cell phone while grabbing my stethoscope since my shift at the hospital would start in an hour.
"Hello, Mrs.Kim. I am Park Hyunsuk the Principal of the school your daughter is studying in". I stopped in my tracks as I anticipated on why he had called me. Mirae's safety was all I could think of after hearing who he was.
"Yes Sir. May I know why you called out of the blue" I asked gulping and all I could hear was a tired sigh from the man. It hasn't even been a week since we put Mirae to school and I was freaking out thinking of the worst possible scenarios.
"Mrs. Kim I would like to meet you after school since your daughter got involved in a fight with one of her classmates" He said in a more arrogant tone. He ended the call even before I could reply. Rude guy, but that was the least of my concerns
It hasn't even been a week since we put Mirae to school and I'm already getting calls from the school saying that she got into a fight. Like father like daughter. But I believe she had a valid reason to hit or hurt someone. I have taught her better unless her father messed with her head.
The school didn't know the complete details of me and Taehyung since Minji had taken care of Mirae's admission in the school. Even Soyeon was studying in the same school. The kids there knew that she was Jin oppa's daughter and they also knew that Mirae was her cousin but didn't exactly know how she was related to Mirae. It was good that they didn't know and I wished that it remained that way.
Taehyung never visited the school because of his work. He was back to being the CEO of K&J but somehow managed to get home to see me and Mirae every evening. Although he would have already received a call from the school about this incident there is a slim chance that he would show up. I texted him that I will take care of Mirae's matter and left for the hospital.
***************************
I finished my shift and went straight to Mirae's school. As I entered the school with my apron hung lazily on my left arm, I noticed that it was not one of those commoner's school that I saw. 'The Presidency' was a school for the rich for sure and Minji had insisted on having Mirae admitted here. This school looked toxic for my daughter but one fine day when the kids know whose daughter she is, I don't think anyone will dare to even touch a single hair on her body.
I reached the 6th floor which was where the Principal's office was located. As soon as I entered, I saw my daughter sitting on one of the chairs in the corner with her head hung low and some other woman glaring at her while sitting beside a boy, with what looked like an injured arm, looked like her son.
My entry alarmed the Principal and how shot his gaze at me. My apron definitely suggested my profession but I guess that was not enough to match the standards of the other lady as he looked at her and gulped. He definitely didn't now who I was which I think was not something which would help me out.
"I'm Mrs Kim, Mirae's mother. I remember you had called me to meet you sir" I said as I walked towards Mirae with a kind smile. I could see the other lady scoff from the corner of my eyes but I chose to ignore it. I could see the small smile on my daughter's face when she saw me but it disappeared instantly as her shifted to the little boy and a frown took over her soft features.

"Yes Mrs. Kim about that. Well you see that Mrs. Kang here wanted to have your daughter suspended since Mirae physically injured her son who in tbe same class. Well it would be better if you adults would talk on the matter with me and come to an agreement" he finished but finally the other parent decided to speak.
"I am not here to have an agreement. What that girl did to my son is unacceptable!!" she yelled. I was almost at verge of loosing my temper as I cocked one of my brows up but I knew I could do better than that. I cleared my throat ignoring the fuming woman and turned to the Principal.
"If you don't mind sir. I would like to hear my daughter's part of the story too, 'privately'" I added and the Principal just nodded. I got hold of Mirae's hand and went to the corridor of the school front of the principal's office. I knelt down to match Mirae's height and looked at her with an affectionate smile.
"Tell me everything" I whispered and that was enough for her to burst out into tears as she hugged me and cried out.
"Omma please don't punish me. I won't do it again" she chanted and I had to pat her back a few times while I said that everything was fine to calm her down. She stopped crying but her hiccups wouldn't stop.
"Sweetie, you need to tell omma what happened so that I can get out of this mess. And if you have really done a mistake or not will only be decided after we hear what happened. So tell omma everything like a good girl" I said as I wiped her tears off with my thumbs.
" Omma do you remember what my lunch was for today" she said cutely with a pout. I smiled how she was telling the matter like it was a story.
"Ofcoarse honey. I packed your lunch and if I remember properly it was one of your favourites. Rice and gummy bears" I said and she nodded furiously as her ponies jumped up and down.
"When I opened my lunch box to eat that Junho started laughing at me. I asked him why he was laughing and he said that no one eats gummy bears with rice and that I was an alien because I ate gummy bears with rice. I told him not to make fun me politely since you had told me that it is bad to be rude to anyone. But he never stopped laughing and then I did what appa had taught me. He had said that if words didn't work on a person even after several tries then violence is another option. So, I hit his left arm with the lid of my lunch box and he ran away screaming that he would tell the teacher" she said in one go and I listened carefully without interrupting her.
"Its not your fault dear but next time something like this happens tell the teacher before you break his bones" I said as I hugged her while she melted in my embrace. I was about to stand up but her little hand tugged on the sleeve of my blouse.
"Omma, I hit his left arm but he said that I broke his right arm" she and I couldn't hold back my wide grin as I saw how smart my daughter was. She was not at all wrong with what she did buy I didn't want her to become a tomboy who can break even a boy's bone.

We returned to the Principal's chamber's and it was obvious that the lady was annoyed with the delay. She glared at me and my daughter but I realized that although her red lipstick was a shade of youth and the layers of make up was meant to make her look young, the wrinkles at corner of her eyes did prove that she was older than me. This time I was more confident and I walked in like I was some lawyer ready fight for a case.
"I know that the other parent has spoke to my daughter when I was not here so I would like to speak to her son in front of her itself. So that I know what wrong my daughter did" I said and the lady rolled her eyes The principal let out an exhausted sigh and extended his hand towards the mother and son as he gave me a nod.
" Well hello there, You, must be Kang Junho" I said giving mt best smiles. My profession was one of those where I had to master how to smile like an angel even though OI wanted to slap the person across the face. I waited for the boy as he slowly nodded and before swiftly squinting his eyes to his mother and then to me.
"As you can see I am a doctor and I heard that my daughter hurt your arm would you be okay if I look at it once?" I said and he held his right arm with the support of his left hand and lifted it towards me. For the next few minutes he said that it hurt wherever I touched his hand and it was obvious that he was lying. I had to act smart now. I grabbed my bag and searched for what I was looking for as I said.
"Since you were a cooperative kid I would like to give you a candy" I said and the boy without a second thought extended the hand which he claimed to be broken swiftly but I held the candy back with with a small grin.
"You said your arm hurt but look at that it's alright. Were you lying Junho?" I asked acting like I was disappointed and the kid panicked. His mother was fast in changing the topic this time.
"Its nice to see that the daughter breaks bones and the mother fixes it. Nice business going in the family, I see" and that really ticked me off. I was about to tell her that her son was leir but then a voice almost had me dumbfound.
"Then let me see what all I can break now, hmm Mrs. Kang?" The Principal eyeballs almost fell out of his sockets. And the Kang's had a shocked expression as well.
"Appa!" Mirae ran towards the door and I stood up while I looked at Taehyung who had also brought a sleepy Jungkook with him. He grabbed Mirae in his arms as he smiled whole-heartedly and Jungkook waved at me as I smiled. Mirae was then passed to Jungkook's hands whom she was now fond unlike as in the past and Taehyung walked towards me with a smug.
"I told you I'd take care of it" I whisper yelled and all he could do was chuckle slightly and mouth a 'missed you' to me. He rarely got out of his office and spent some time for himself. I couldn't care less because he is beside me now and there is nothing to worry.
He gave a peck to my cheek and we both turned to the Principal. The shock on their faces was something that cannot be expressed with words. The Principal looked at the woman standing not far from him and then squinted his eyes towards Taehyung.
*******************************
The matter was solved in minutes because the call that was made to Taehyung was received by his secretary. And all his secretary told him was that the principal had asked to meet Mirae's father as soon as possible. So he had to rush in for his daughter. The matter was settled without breaking single drop of sweat. Taehyung gave his personal number to the Principal and told him call to that number if there were any queries regarding Mirae.
We were walking out of the school and we decided that we take Mirae home although she had a few classes to attend since Taehyung wanted to have some 'father-daughter time'. And Jungkook who had fallen asleep in the principal chamber ran to the car while holding Mirae like his life would depend on it. I and Tahyung walked slowly towards the car; my hands around his arm as I leaned onto him.
"I don't think they will ever call us after this" I said as I let out a tired sigh.
"I bet they will when they need any help" He said and the word help didn't exactly sound as its actual meaning. But it didn't matter now. Were walking hand in hand with short steps and I felt like a teenager again walking in playground with the one I love. Taehyung pulled our intertwined hands upto his lips out of the blue and kissed the back of my hand before whispering a soft 'I love you' but before I could even utter a single word I started puking.
"What on earth did you eat, honey?" Taehyung's voice had every hint of concern but I was not in a state to answer his question.
Taehyung didn't back away. Instead, he held my lose hair together gently and rubbed my back as I threw up all my lunch in the playground. After good 3 rounds of throwing up, Taehyung finally brought me back home and I cleaned up.
***************************
It was already noon and Jungkook decided to play with Mirae being her strong bunny teeth uncle and Taehyng sat outside in the lawn. I walked to him with barefoot and sat beside him as I snaked my arms around his torso. He pulled me in more and placed a quick peck on my forehead.
"You we are going to the hospital tomorrow and even though you yourself are a doctor I am not taking no for an answer" he said with his chin still on my head. I frowned and had to pull back to look at his face.
"And why is that?" I reasoned. He let out a tired sigh and brushed a few strands of hair away from my face.
"Because you almost puked out your intestines today and believe me it was not a good scene" he said playing with my hair. I pulled back my hands to my self and loss of skinship made Taehyung whine.
"Taehyung there is no need for that" I said as I smiled at him. But he was not taking any of that shit.
"If you don't agree then I'll put you on mu shoulder and take you to the doctor myself" I looked at him with a bored expression. Why does he have to act so annoying sometimes?
"Taehyung I-"
"We are going and that's final"
"Listen to me-"
"I won't go to the office until we get the check up done"
"But-"
"Noooo buts. I already told you that we are going and that's final". He is not even letting me finish and I was pissed.
"TAEHYUNG!!" I raised my voice and he finally shut his mouth.
"I know what has happened to me..." I said and paused to look at him frown at me. He opened his mouth to say something but, before he could start with pestering me to go for a check up again I spilled the beans.
"I am pregnant" the words slipped between my lips swiftly and Taehyung looked like he was confused. But then the surprised look was there on his face as he eyed me with his eyes as wide as possible which made me smile shyly and hit his chest.
"Oh my goodness!! Y/n!!" he pulled me in for a hug and I melted in his arms. We stayed that way for moments and decided to spill the beans to the others as well. It was almost thanksgiving and Taehyung suggested that it would be nice to celebrate this good news along with the fest.
We walked into the living room but no one was there. Maybe Mirae had slept and Jungkook had brought her to her room. So, I checked her room and there she was, sleeping peacefully but where was the bunny?
I and Taehyung both went down to the main door to check whether Jungkook was out but found the door slightly ajar. Both of us slowly opened the door and peeked through it onl to find Jungkook and Minji kissing each other. I almost squealed with excitement but Taehyung closed my mouth and pulled me back telling me not to disturb them.
We both tip toed to the living room and sat on the sofa as we whispered to each other.
"We'll leave them for now. Lets just pretend we didn't see it and wait for them to say it themselves" Taehyung said and I frowned.
"Where's the fun in that, bitch?" I said and widened my eyes at the usage of my words. Okay now that didn't come out the way I wanted it to. Taehyung just let out a surpried chuckle before pulling me into his chest.
"The hormones are working their wonders on you, aren't they?"
His words made me blush and I burried my face more into his chest as I hugged him tight.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. Cinder Roots (Undergoing a Rewrite)
This novel is currently undergoing a major rewrite, as I noticed several plot points that needed to be revamped. I'll leave the chapters I've posted here to anyone curious to see how everything started, but I'll be posting the rewritten story as a new novel in the future. The characters will be the same, but the journey will be more understandable and hopefully, a lot more fun to read. -------- First, everything was fire, it killed, it consumed, and it gave him life. He was just a tree, born in the biggest forest that remained in the world, full of dryads, naiads, elves and treants, but he was alone. He couldn’t see. He couldn’t talk. Curiosity plagued him. He dreamed of wandering the land, but could only wonder what stood outside the reach of his roots. The tree was tired of waiting. He decided to not just dream, but to act. How could he survive against a invading empire, a grand conspiracy that threatened to shake the foundations of the world, and the raw danger that lies within these woods? With pure determination. Warning - There are quite a few POV changes in the first chapters, but that'll change after the introduction is done, as I'll be focusing on the MC perspective only.
