《His Butterfly》Chapter 3

Designing and dancing are now the only things that give Amara happiness. She wanted to choose dancing as a career but following the footsteps of her mother seemed more rightful. Thank the goodness, she had the talent for designing or else it would have been a blunder for her mother. Though Lily wanted her to take over her brand ,she insisted on creating her own line. She struggled a lot in starting years but her hard work and the support of her mother and a certain person made it possible.

Amara was born to Andrew and Lily Wesley. Her parents were comfortably rich. Her father is a retired Neurologist. She is the only child and that being the reason they spoiled her silly. Amara's generosity was her best trait. She studied in a private school but never got effected by the rich snobby behavior. She got in Yale for her designing course solely on her hard will. It was during the internship she met Richard Black. The person who was to shoot her models. Despite it being seven years ago , she still remembered how humble and polite he was. By the end of the day he was pretty much blown away by Amara's charm.

The knock-on her office brought her back to the reality. No matter how happy or satisfied she was Ric was always present on the back of her mind. Giving the permission to the person on the door, she got busy in choosing the design for an upcoming magazine shoot.

“Ma’am, Mr. Jonathan wants to prepone the shoot. He needs the new collection we are about to launch as the dress for his cover model. What should I reply back?”

“Anna, there are still some dresses that needs final touches. But almost everyone of them are ready. Just send him the finished ones. Make sure someone from here are accompanying them.”

“Okay. Ma’am you have an appointment with Leah Roscoe in five minutes.”

I nodded at her and got ready to meet this Leah. She was my mother’s client but due to my mother’s surgery she was sent to my way. Apparently it was her wedding in two months and she was a bridezilla hunting the dress of her dreams.

I was just keeping the new sketches on the table when Miss Roscoe entered the cabin with a woman tailing behind her. She must be some sister or bestfriend who is supposed tag along the bride.

“ Good morning, Miss Roscoe. Please have a seat. I’m Amara Wesley. I’ll be designing your wedding dress in place of Lily Wesley. I look forward to it.”

“Ahh.. No need to be so formal. If I liked your design you’ll have a million dollar deal with you. And I’ll get the dress beautiful enough to make my fiancé forget his name.” She was cheerful and very talkative. Leah was beautiful with her dark red hair framing her pale face. Her brown eyes shown with all the happiness one finds in a bride to be. She was taller than Amara five feet six. Leah was hard to ignore with her personality. She already knew how she wanted her dress to look. I added many new details making the sketch look ethereal.

“ You must really love your fiancé. You are a really excited for your wedding.”

I couldn’t stop myself from commenting. Maybe because almost half of my clients were snobby rich billionaire wives.

“ O sweet Amara! My fiancé hate my guts. If he could, he would’ve already killed me. Not that I love him. He is too cold for my liking. I like things and men hot. I mean I could very well marry a wall and it’ll be same. I am just excited because you get married only once.”

“ Oh! Leah you and your jokes. She is just kidding Miss Wesley. They both really are the most adorable couple.”

I smiled which looked more like a grimace. Though I am sure Leah was not kidding. She was very much serious. Why do even get married to someone you don’t love. That’s like the most absurd thing. Marriage is a pure bonding of two hearts full of love. Maybe I am reading too much.

“ Leah I would like to see your fiancé tuxedo. To add some coordinating details. I’m sure you’ll love it.”

“ Aren’t you going to design my fiancé tux? I specifically told Lily I want both our dresses tailored at the same place.”

“Well I wasn’t aware of this though. But don’t worry we have some badass designs. But I would like your fiancé measurements. We’ll make him try some or design a while new one.”

“ Okay great. I’ll come with him tomorrow. I’m really thrilled to get married .Thank you so much Amara. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Picking her bag she left, her little assistant following her behind.

What a day! Looks like faking marriage has became the new trend. Well time to call my dear ole dad and grill him about mom’s health. Calling my dad was definitely not at all fruitful. He didn’t even picked my phone. He has been retired for one whole year. Both he and mom went for a six week long retirement vacation. My mother is an energetic woman. She is very well active in her designing career. Though after her sudden heart surgery, she is lately thinking about taking an early retirement.

Now at 27, I’ve convinced myself I need just my parents in my life. Because I don’t have any strength left to deal with any betrayal.
