Darkness. That's all I see. I remember the last time I felt this. Elijah was born. Laying on the bed and darkness over took me. Now I'm feeling it again. The darkness lasted twice as long as before. Then nothing.

After what seems like seconds I feel again. I hear a voice. It sounds familiar. I feel them holding my hand. I force my eyes to open and there is a bright light. I close them quickly and wince. I hear the voice more clear. It's Jimi. His voice soothes me. It makes me feel better.

"Baby..? Kare..?"

"Mmm"

"Karen... thank god." I look around and again and see Jimi. I get enough strength to speak.

"What... happen..?"

"The doctors said your heart slowed because of an issue from having the baby. They didn't notice at first. But they said you'll make a full recovery. And that you will still come home later. Just be cautious." I nod to him and he holds my hand tight.

"Where is everyone..?"

"They are getting food from the hospital cafeteria. And Joyce is asleep on the other side of you." I look over and see our baby girl in her bed beside mine. I smile and look back at Jimi.

"Have you eaten yet?"

"I was waiting for you to wake up."

"Baby you gotta eat."

"I have food. But the doctors said if you wake up you gotta eat too. You just had a baby. You need food. And they already gave me the go ahead that when you wake your okay to eat. So me and you are gonna eat right here together with our little girl."

"Okay." He Moves the mini table by my bed next to us and takes out a bag from in n' out burgers.

"When did you go get that..?"

"I didn't. Kim brought it when she brought E. he's with our parents." I Smile And He unpacks Everything And we eat.

We finish eating and now we are sharing a milkshake. He moved next to me on the bed while we were eating so we could cuddle. He held me and we drank the milkshake and just looked at our daughter.

"We weren't suppose to have another... but God let us." I nod and cuddle him closer.

"I'm glad god gave us another."

"Me too." I Smile And Jimi Kisses me. I kiss back as our parents walk in with Elijah.

"Should we expect baby number three anytime soon..?" We laugh and look at them and Elijah runs over and Jimi picks him up onto his lap. I hug him and kiss his head. Jimi gets up and Elijah gladly takes his spot.

Jimi picks up Joyce and brings her over.

"Elijah... I'd like you to meet your baby sister... Joyce."

"Joyce. She tiny..."

"She is. But she'll grow bigger. Just like you are. Do you want to hold her..?" He Nods And Sits closer to me I wrap one arm around him and help him position his hands and Jimi Lays Joyce in his arms with my help.

"She's very small and can easily get hurt if we aren't careful."

"She hurt..? Like my boo-boos?"

"Yeah baby. Just like your boo-boos." Elijah looks at her.

"It's Otay sissy... I promise you won't get no boo-boos." I Smile And kiss his head.

"She already loves you."

"She Not say it."

"She can't talk yet baby. But she does. Trust me." He Nods And Smiles. Jimi sits on the bed in front of us and our parents plus Kim and Phillip's families are here watching us.

After a few minutes like that Elijah Yawns and so do I. Jimi Stands.

"Alright. My baby's need their rest. I'll put Joyce in her bed and Kim will take you to her place E."

"No! I no wanna go..."

"Yes E. you can't stay here. Well come get you when we get to bring the baby home. Your mom and your sister have to stay here a while longer."

"Why..?"

"To make sure they are healthy enough to go home."

"I stay here wif Joyce And momma."

"You can't E." He starts crying and I hold him close calming him while Jimi watches.

"Can he stay babe..?" Jimi Sighs And Nods

"Fine. You guys are my weakness..." I smile at him and Elijah smiles happily.

"We love you babe."

"I love y'all too"

Jimi puts Joyce in her bed and Elijah snuggles me under the blankets. He lays in my arms and Falls asleep as I stroke his hair. Our parents were talking to Everyone including Jimi. I fought the sleep off to stay awake when they're here. My momma Walks over.

"Honey you need sleep."

"I'm fine momma."

"You say that. But we both know the truth. You had a baby naturally with no epidural... and you slept for two hours after words and been through pain which made you pass out. You need sleep."

"I don't wanna be rude... y'all are here to see Joyce."

"We came to see you all. And you're not being rude. We are for not letting a new mother again get her sleep. Your gonna need it now cause you won't get any for a while. Especially with him." She looks at Elijah.

"What about him..?"

"Well when Joyce wakes up through the night. He's gonna wake up. And he's gonna be cranky. So when you have two babies to Look after while cranky it gets a lot. Plus there may be only one of you doin it. And once you get her back to sleep. It'll be a while before he'll go to sleep. By the time he falls asleep. You get back in bed and have to get up and do it all over again."

"You don't know that."

"I've had two kids. I know."

"Fine... I love you momma."

"I love you too baby. And the wonderful family you've created." I Smile And lay by Elijah continuing to stroke his hair as my mother walks back over to Dad. Everyone talks and the last thing I remember is listening to them talk about anniversary's.

Jimi's P.O.V.

"Life can't get any better. Elijah and Joyce are our little miracles.... and Karen... Karen is my everything and the reason why we have a family. I can't thank her enough for letting me be with her and creating this family... I love her so much..." Karen's mom takes my hand.

"She loves you very much Jimi. You got her here... she didn't want anything after her first husband. You made her free. You helped her create this family. And we gladly welcome you."

"Thank you. I love y'all so much too." She smiles and I look over at Karen.

Karen Lays asleep on her back and beside her is Elijah and her left hand is stretched out touching Joyce's Bed. She's beautiful when she sleeps. About an hour passes and Elijah wakes up and crawls out of the bed waking Karen. I get Elijah and pick him up.

"Ready to go back home with pawpaw and grandma?" He Nods And Karen's Dad takes him and they go back to our place along with my mother. Kim and Phillip go home and I walk over to Karen.

"Hey baby, go back to sleep..."

"How long was I asleep for..?"

"About an hour." She looks over at Joyce who is awake and moving her arms.

"She hasn't eaten in a while..."

"Okay, I'll get a nurse." She Nods And I get a nurse. The nurse gets the baby and passes her to Karen.

"Would you like to breast feed or bottle feed?"

"Can I try breast feeding..?"

"Of course and she don't latch we can easily get a bottle." Karen Smiles. I know Karen is happy to try breast feeding, I hope it works for her. She really wanted to breast feed Elijah but he would latch, hopefully Joyce will so she knows how it feels. The nurse helped Karen get situated and showed her how to do it. Karen did everything the nurse showed her and Joyce was getting cranky. I could see Karen getting sad and frustrated after a few minutes of trying. She looks at Joyce sadly.

"Come in baby girl... please eat... please try..." Joyce was still cranky so the nurse asked Karen to move Joyce closer so she could feel it. Joyce was still cranky, but Karen kept trying and she eventually latched on and started eating. Karen sighed in relief and smiles with tears.

"It's okay baby..."

"I'm happy... she's latched on..."

"I know baby. It's amazing." I kissed her head and watch this beautiful scene of Mother and daughter.

About two hours later the doctor came in and check the baby out and then checked Karen. He gave us the release papers for both Joyce and Karen and we signed them and I got Joyce ready to go as Karen went to change. I finished putting Joyce in her car seat and waited for Karen. She was taking a while and I thought it was because she was sore so I let her take her time. But after 10 minutes I knock on the door.

"Baby?"

"Yeah..?" She sounded upset.

"Are you okay..?"

"Yeah. I'll be right out."

"Babe..? Can ya open the door..?"

"I'll be right out..."

"Kare... I know you to well. Open the door." I hear a click and I slowly open the door. "Baby?" I see her leaning back against the wall and wipe a tear away.

"Baby why are you crying?"

"Nothin it's stupid."

"Nothing is stupid... I'm your husband and you can talk to me."

"Are you gonna leave me...?"

"What..? Are you crazy?! I love you and our family too much to let you go. I chose to marry you so I'm staying. Even through the worst of us." She Nods And Hugs me. I hug her back.

"It's okay baby... lets go home." She Nods And Walks out to Joyce. I follow and a nurse comes in with a wheel chair for Karen. She sits and I carry Joyce in her car seat. We get to the doors and I help Karen up and we walk to the car. I put Joyce in the middle of the back seat and help Karen in next to her. I get in the drivers seat and drive home.

We get home and I help Karen out and takes Joyce out of the car seat and lays her in Karen's arms. I take the car seat out and carry it and walk Karen inside. We walk in and everyone is waiting for us and there is a sign that says 'Welcome home Karen and Joyce'. Karen Smiles and her mother comes over and takes Joyce right away, we knew one of our mothers would take her. I set the car seat down and shut the door. When I turn around and looks at everyone Karen wraps an arm around me as I do the same to her and we stand there enjoying this moment. I walk her over to the couch and get her to sit. Elijah immediately comes to Karen and crawls up on her lap.

"You want something to eat?"

"Yes please."

"What about you little man?" He shakes his head no and I go to the kitchen and make Karen a sandwich. I bring it back and Elijah was asleep. I Smile And pass Karen the plate. She eats with E on her. How she manages to eat in that position I'll never know. After she finishes she cuddles E and Falls asleep as well. It was getting late and everyone went back home and to their hotel. Elijah had woken up and is playing upstairs and Joyce is in her play pin asleep in the living room. Karen is still asleep and I am sitting next to her enjoying the moment.

Karen's P.O.V.

I woke up and Elijah was gone. I look over and see Jimi next to me. I sit up and stretch.

"Hey baby."

"Hey, How was your nap?"

"Great... really great. Besides the awkward position..." he chuckles and wraps his arm around me. I lean into him.

"Did everyone leave?"

"Yeah. They all left about an hour ago"

"How long was I asleep?"

"Almost 4 hours."

"I feel horrible for falling asleep on everyone..."

"No baby, they understand. They stayed and enjoyed their time with Joyce and E. you're tired and they all knew that."

"Mmm I still feel bad... Where's E?"

"Upstairs playing already for us to tuck him in at bedtime." I nod.

"And Joyce hasn't been hungry at all yet..?"

"Nope. She slept the entire time. She'll probably be up soon though."

"Probably. Hopefully she's like E was... only woke up twice a night or less..."

"Let's hope so." We sat there for a while longer and then decide to go to bed really early cause we were all tired. Karen got Joyce and brought her to E's room with us. We put E to bed and tuck him in. He gives hugs and kisses to Jimi, Joyce and I And we leave his room shutting the door. We walk to the nursery and kiss Joyce's head and lays her down.

I stand there watching her for a few moments and Jimi wraps his arms around me.

"Can't believe we got two miracles.."

"Me either... but I'm so grateful."

"Me too baby. Why don't we go show our bed how grateful he is.."

"I'd like that." He takes my hand and guides us to our room. I take the baby monitor with us and change into shorts and one of Jimi's old t-shirts. I lay down and cuddle Jimi who is already in bed. We kiss each other and say goodnight. And I'm out like a light.iîy
