"Hey replacement," Jason said as he leaned on the archway of the kitchen, "Why's demon spawn glued to his bedroom window?"
"You forgot what today is, didn't you?" Tim asked.
"It's Saturday...?"
"Dick's coming back today."
"Oh yeah," Jason said.
That explained a lot. The youngest Wayne had been acting off for the past week since Dick went off-world for a mission. It wasn't that noticeable at first. Damian is quite reserved majority of the time after all. However, in the last three days it was painfully obvious that he was affected by Dick's absence. From glancing far too often at his empty seat at the dining table to lingering in front of his bedroom door a little too long. And from checking the time ridiculously often to staring out his bedroom window for hours on end.
One could say Damian missed Dick. A lot. He would never admit that out loud though. Damian would rather deny it to the end of time than admit something that was clear as day. Now that Jason thought about it, Duke did say that Damian slammed his bedroom door in his face yesterday when asked whether or not he missed their eldest sibling. How could he have forgotten that?
The sound of footsteps rushing down the stairs snapped Jason out of his thoughts.

"He's here," Tim and Jason said in sync.
The two brothers then exited the kitchen and stood off to the side of the main hall. As they expected, Damian was standing right by the entrance. Impatience very apparent in his body language. However, he didn't have to wait long as the front doors were soon opened by the very person he was waiting for.
Dick had barely stepped inside when he was all but tackled into a hug by Damian. The suddenness of the action threw Dick off and sent the pair to the ground with a hefty thump. Jason and Tim chuckled at this while Dick tried to sit up with Damian latched onto him. He eventually succeeded in sitting up and returned the unexpected but not unwelcome hug. He's normally the one to initiate them after all. It was a nice surprise to come home to after a week in space.
"Hey Dam-"
"Next time you must take me with you," Damian interrupted, tightening his hold, "and no one has a say in the matter."
Dick lightly laughed and said, "I missed you too Dami."
