"You what?...What did you say?"

I could feel his breath tighten as if he was really going to explode.

"You heard me..." I mumbled softly, looking down at the ground, trying not to make eye contact.

"Ho-w? Why?..." He was still, not moving, just in shock from this.

"I don't...I know it's horrible." What could I say? I'm cheating on him with his father.

"Do you not know what he did to me? To me and my mother? " Ashton roared like a lion, furious like a badger, and emotional like a flower. I couldn't handle it.

"Ashton, I know what he did. But this is all just a big mistake. Your dad is also my boss." I covered my mouth quick, I wasn't suppose to say that part.

"Your boss? For what?" Ashton marched sniffled me.

"Um..." I stood there silent. Unable to speak another word.

"Are you going to answer me?" I still stood there silent.

"I'm so sorry, but I have to go." I busted through the door and ran as fast as I could go and jumped into some bushes so Ashton could find me when he followed behind.

"Lilly?" I shouted. But she was nowhere to be found. She just bolted. Like there was something that she wasn't suppose to say and she just ran trying to save her life.

After a while of looking for her I went back inside and toward on the couch like a potato.

What is wrong with me?

What did I do to deserve this life?

I had it going for me in high school. I was dating the girl of my dreams. Then I cheated, but I was actually laid. Then the girl of my dreams left me and moved for away. Then suddenly we meet laid mysteriously in a store and she had this little boy.

Oh, that sweet little boy. Not even knowing that, that little boy was my own son.

Then I finally meet him physically. He share an unbreakable bond. But my dream girl has found someone else, someone better to replace my standing figure as a father.

Maybe everyone was right. Maybe I'm not the super great father that I think I am.

My eyes flooded with tears. A stream floated down my cheeks and made a lake in the palms of my hands. My cheeks were red like a volcano, but were soft as the color pink.

So many emotions ran though me brain. I couldn't think straight, or were to even start thinking.

Just at that moment, there was a quite larger knock at the door.

Wiping my face and applying cold water to my cheeks real quick, I opened the door but just to see the one personI never wanted to see ever in my life again...

"What are you doing here?" I grunted, but he just Wiping himself in.

"Nice place you got here. Seems pretty at home. Comfy even."

"I said, what are you doing here and what makes you think you can just walk into my place?"

"Well you're not stopping me from leaving." He looked at me for a split second, then smiled and continued to look around.

He looked at basically everything that Aidan did. Every picture, drawing, and toy.

"So, I hear you have son." He didn't sound to invited.

I stayed silent. Not daring to speak a word.

"He looks happy. Like any kid should be. He seems great. But I can't really say that when I never even met my own grandson."

"He's not your grandson like I'm not your son." I was mad to be honest.

"Okay. Whatever the Dad says right. Father to father here. Is it fun? Do you love your son? Do he love you?"

"Of course I love my own son and he loves me very much as well. And I'm proud to be a dad."

"Really? Because I swear I heard you from outside the door that you were the worst father ever." Tears began to take me vision away.

"That is known of your business." I shouted.

"Where's the mother?" He came off subject from the previous question.

"Known of your business."

"Oh, did she leave you for another man? A better man. Do you even get to see your son anymore?"

"That is known of your business, like everything else isn't." I didn't want to give anything away about Charlie, toward, or Aidan at this point.

"Charlie isn't it?" My heart dropped.

"How do you know her name?" I stuttered.

"You really think I would just barge in without doing my research first?" He mysteriously said. "And her boyfriend, what's him name. oh yeah, Twan. He honestly does seem like a better father than you." I wanted to punch this man so hard in the face. "And your son, Aidan. What a cute name for a cute little guy. I can see he's going to be so much like you, unless he's raised only by Charlie and Twan." All the rage is built up, but for some reason, I cant let it out.

"You're wrong. You're wrong about everything." I wanted to believe that.

"Are you sure I'm wrong? When have I ever been wrong?"

"When you said you would always be there for me. No matter what. But you were wrong about that." Tears threatened to come burst out.

"You're getting off subject know Ashton. How's your mother?" I'm getting off subject?

"Don't talk about her." I screamed.

His arms went up like he was surrendering. "Woo there. Did get all over me." He laughed.

"Get out. Get out of my apartment. I want you gone and to never come back. Don't ever try to speak to me again, and stay out of my life, and my family's life. You stay away from Charlie, Aidan, and Twan. Stay away from me and my mother. And leave Lilly alone." I began to cry out, but there were only tears dripping down my cheeks.

"Whatever you say...son." With that he walked right out like nothing happened.

I fell forward on the couch while all the tears forced them selfs out. I pressed my palms against my eyes trying to stop them but they just kept coming down like an endless river.

I was walking up to stairs to Ashton's apartment with Aidan to drop him off. But before I knocked on the door, I heard small cries. Not knowing if it was Ashton or not, I put my ear against the door, trying to hear better.

"Mommy, what are you doing?" Aidan asked.

I awkwardly stepped back and looked down at him. "Nothing sweetie. Just being silly."

I knocked on the door and waited for the door to open.

"Mommy, what are you doing?" I looked up from the couch at the door.

Shit, I forgot that it's my day with Aidan. I got up from the couch trying to rub my tears aways but it was useless since my eyes had red all over them.

I opened the door to see Charlie and Aidan.

"Hi daddy." I smiled down at him.

"Hi my little man." My voice cracked as I picked him up to say hello.

"I missed you." Aidan hugged me.

"I missed you more. Here, go to your room and play, daddy has to talk to mommy."

"Okay." And he was off to go play.

I looked directly into Charlie's eyes and I could see the terror and emotions in them.

"Ashton, what's wrong?" I invited her in and we sat on the couch.

"Don't worry about me. How's Aidan doing?" I tried to smile and make eye contact but didn't seem to do it.

"He's doing just fine. But I want to know how you're doing." She grabbed my hands and held them for support.

"It's nothing important." I sweetie.

"It doesn't seem like nothing. Ashton, please tell me. I want to help." I looked at her then finally gave in and told her everything.

"Ashton..." Was all she could say. But she didn't seem be upset. But instead, she put my head in her lap and she sniffled my head and kissed my head.

After about an hour being at Ashton's, I has to go. But I didn't want to. I wanted to stay her and support him. But I had to get home. I had other things to do, but I really wanted them to wait but they couldn't.

"Ashton, I have to go." He got up and nodded.

"Thank you so much. I really appreciate you staying for more than you should of."

"It was no problem."

But before she left I did something crazy.

I kissed her.
