《His Unknown Child》Chapter 26: Falling Apart

"Daddy, Lilly, daddy, lilly! Wake up! Wake up!" Uff. "SANTA CAME! SANTA CAME!" Aidan jumped up and down on the bed.
"Okay, okay. We're getting up." I said. Aidan wiggled off the bed and ran out the room.
"We're not moving." Lilly mumbled through her pillow.
"I know we're not. But we have to." I groaned at got up. Pulled on some sweatpants and socks, then grabbed a present I got for Lilly, but she doesn't know that.
"I'll meet you down there." Lilly explained as she walked into the bathroom.
I exited the room and jogged down the stairs. Aidan was in the kitchen drinking some water.
"Hey bud." I ruffled his hair.
"Hi daddy! What's for breakfast?!" I chuckled.
"I don't know. Pancakes? Waffles? Bacon? Hash browns?" I suggested.
"Waffles, bacon, eggs, and hash browns!" He insisted.
"Alright- wait hold on." I ran to the door that was just rung. Opening it, an unfamiliar man stood at the front of my door.
"Hello?" I raised an eyebrow at the man.
"Hello, does Lilly Dale live here?" Why does he want Lilly? Let alone know her?
"Yes she does. Who are you?" I started.
"Mark Grey." Mark Grey. Mark Grey. Nope, doesn't ring a bell.
"I don't know anyone named Mark Grey."
"And you are?" He changed the subject. In his hand held flowers and a small wrapped gift.
"Ashton Burns."
"I don't know you either. Is Lilly here?" He demanded.
"Um-" I quickly changed the subject. "Are you a cousin? Uncle?" I wondered.
"Boyfriend." I raised my eyebrows. My eyes widened in confusion and I stepped outside the door and shut it.
"Are you playing jokes on me? Mark." I looked up and down his body. He is good looking.
"That depends. Are you playing jokes on me?" He questioned my question.
"I'm her boyfriend." I said back.
"I don't recall her telling me she had another boyfriend." Who does this guy think he is?
"She lives with me. She's my girlfriend. She has told me everything."
"Apparently not." Suddenly the door opened.
"Lilly, do you know this guy?" I questioned. Her eyes turned dark, then her nose twitched.

"No, I don't know him." Her eyes glistened with water.
"Lilly baby. It's me. Mark Grey. You're boyfriend back in Seattle." He walked up to her, but I stepped in his way.
"Stay away from her or I'll put you in the hospital." I threatened.
"I should be telling you the same thing." Just then, his arm swings at my face and my face flings backwards. I turned back to him and swing at him, giving him a bloody nose.
Here we were both on top of each other fighting until Lilly said something that made me freeze.
"MARK ZACHARY GREY! GET OFF OF HIM RIGHT NOW! I WILL SWEAR TO BREAK UP WITH YOU!" I stood there, frozen. It's like the world stopped spinning, the time stopped, and everything fell apart.
I turns around to face Lilly. She gasped. "No, I mean- Ashton." She ran up to me but pulled away.
"I want you to leave." I said flat.
"No, Ashton. I love you. You can't throw me out. Please, I'm begging." She pleaded, but my mind was already made up.
"I want you to leave. NOW!" I screamed. "HOW COULD YOU?" I shouted back.
"Ashton-"
"NO, DON'T "ASHTON" ME! YOU WERE CHEATING BEHIND MY BACK. I TRUSTED YOU." Tears were threatening to come out of my eyes, but I held them back.
"I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt, you or Aidan." She cried, but I showed no emotion.
"You can come get your stuff tomorrow. But now? No way in hell. Leave me. Go with your "real boyfriend"."
I turned around and went inside. Locking the door, but that won't help. Groaning, I went back outside.
Her eyes lit up like I was gonna forgive her.
"I want my key back." She hesitated, but dug in her pocket and handed me the key. I also took the spare key from under the mat. Then went inside. Locking the door.
"Where's Lilly." Aidan mumbled as he was curled up against the couch.
"She went to the store to get a few things. She'll be back later. But she also told us to open presents." I hated lying to Aidan. But I couldn't ruin Christmas from some disaster.

"Okay." He jumped off the couch and sat criss-cross applesauce next to the tree.
"The first one is for you. From Grandma." My mom couldn't make it. She's in Florida for vacation. And her flight got canceled. She was suppose to be back yesterday. But stupid airlines.
"Grandma!" He cheered, almost sounding like he forgot about the whole Lilly thing.
"Yes grandma got you that." I chuckled.
"No daddy! Grandma!" He jumped up and ran. I turned around to see my mom.
"Mom." I smiled and hugged her with delight.
"Hello Ashton."
"I thought your flight got canceled?"
"I wanted to surprise you guys." My mom I tell you.
"Well you did. I thought you were gonna miss Christmas." Seeing my mom and Aidan here on a faimly tradition, together, makes me so grateful.
"I would never miss this. Where's Lilly?" That's when I gulped. I had to lie to my mother. Aidan was by us, and I couldn't ruin this today for my mother too.
"Lilly at store." Aidan budged in.
"For what? It looks like you have pancake mix. Eggs. Bacon. What could she possibly meed to go to the store for? Expectably on Christmas morning?" I shrugged.
"I don't know. Maybe she had to pick up a gift." Am I a bad person for lying to my mother?
"She better be here soon." She set the other gifts she got by the tree. "When does Aidan go to Charlie's?" She asked once she sat down.
"This afternoon. Around one-thirty."
"Well it's almost ten." Almost ten? Damn, it was like five when Aidan woke me up. And Lilly...
"I know. Let's open the presents before Aidan starts eating the wrapping paper." I chuckled. "Lilly said it was fine to start. Just put her's on the side." My mum nodded.
"Open the gift Aidan. You'll love it." She said as Aidan already started unwrapping long before she said that.
He gasped. "Thank you grandma!" He hugged her big and kept looking at the thing he got. Which was jenga. He has always wanted that game. I could never find it though. It would either be all sold out or the store never carried it. Thanks mom.
"Where did you find one of those? I've been looking everywhere for that game." I need to know her secrets.
"At Walmart."
"Walmart?" Really? Walmart. I could of went there. Wait, I did. "I went there four times."
"I have my ways." And from there, we contined opening gifts, setting Lilly's aside.
I laid there, crying; feeling the sorrow. My love, soul mate, friend is gone. Wants me gone- Forever.
"Lilly Pad, stop crying. You've been crying for like four hours now." I want to punch Mark. But it's partially my fault too. I'm the one who cheated. I never did change after all.
I guess the people who want to change, just can't. They stay the same.
"No, I miss him. It's your fault for showing up in the first place." I wimpered.
"Babycakes, it's mostly your fault. Don't be blaming everything on me now. You're the one who cheated. You cheated on me, and him. And look; I forgave you. But that Ashton guy didn't. He doesn't want you anymore. He stopped loving you from the moment he found out. But I forgave you. I'm the real deal here." He was right.
Ashton will never forgive me. Ever.
And the worst part is that I accidently blurted out "I swear I'll break up with you", to Mark.
What was I thinking?
Maybe after time, a lot of time, Ashton will forgive me.
Maybe, who am I kidding? Ashton will probably find someone better- or he'll get back with Charlie.
No, that would never happen. He doesn't like Charlie very much. Besides, Charlie has that French guy.
"Shortcakes, come here. You need to stop crying." I nodded, not believing myself to stop crying and just closed my eyes.
This my end of Ashly. I know, I had our own shipping name.
What would Charlie and Ashton's shipping name be? Ashlie...Damn, they have the name shipping name as me. Just spelled differently.
What a coincidence.
